Attempt to install Adobe flash failed

Attempt to install Adobe Flash upgrade to Mac (Early 2011 Model) failed ending all motion on Mac. Uninstalling it brought back
other systems not using Adobe Flash. Attempt to Upgrade to Maverick also failed. Computer works fine, but no Adobe.

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing Flash Player, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US  which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’.

  • Attempting to install Adobe Flash upgrade in Yosemite

I downloaded the newest version of Adobe flash player.  I open it and the Adobe Flash Player Installer pops up. I double click on the installer.  Window pops up Install Adobe Flash Player.app is an application downloaded from the internet.  Are you sure you want to open it.  I click on Open.  In the meantime I notice that the Adobe icon in the start bar is jumping up and down.  I click on open.  Window pops up Install Adobe Flash Player wants to make changes.  I type in my password and click ok.  Icon quits jumping and does absolutely nothing.  I have to force quit to remove the icon.

I receive the message "Error:  Failed to register" at the end of attempting to reinstall Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.135 (after a complete uninstall of all Adobe programs) on my older machine running Windows XP and the older browser IE 7.    I have tried the offline download installer and my Google Chrome browser setting is "allow all sites to run Java".  I allowed the program to run from my AVG firewall dialog box.  Windows firewall did not ask.  I am logged in as administrator.  What should I do because some programs prompt me for this install in order for some functions to work correctly.

  • I can't install Adobe Flash -installation keeps failing

I run Windows Vista, and have been using Firefox as my browser (current version). In May some time Flash stopped working on Firefox. It works fine on IE8. I have uninstalled Flash and reinstalled it - successful on IE, and uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, then tried to install the Flash plugin, all to no avail. When I try to install it manually nothing happens. Is something changed on a security setting that is preventing this? My cookies/pop-ups allow adobe.com on Firefox.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I am the admin account in Vista. I always log in as admin. Is there a setting within admin preventing me from loading the plugin? If so, I have been able to load other plugins without a problem.
I can't install the plugin with Firefox closed. It tries to load on the browser. For example, I get the message that a plugin needs to be installed from the top of my browser window, I click on it, it takes me to the Adobe license page, I accept, and it takes me to a window where the plugin is being loaded. Then a window comes up that says "Completing the Plug-in Finder Service" which says "No Plug-ins were installed, Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181, Failed" I get the Manual Install button, but when use that to go to the Adobe page, and try to install manually, nothing happens - no acceptance of license, nothing.
I have another computer - newer - with Windows 7 - and Flash loaded and runs fine on my Firefox browser on it.
    Any other ideas?

    Hi renmusn79002737,
Could you please try installing Reader again from the below mentioned link:
    http://get.adobe.com/reader
Ensure that you are logged in as administrator and anti-virus is disabled as that might interrupt downloading.
Try again and then let me know.

Every time I attempt to install adobe photoshop cs6, it says installer has failed to initialize, what do I do?

    Hi supercein,
Please try re- downloading the package and reinstall and check.
You can also try downloading from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html

  • Frequent Fails when installing Adobe Flash Player (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1)

Constantly see the following error message from Adobe Flash Player Installer:
Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.
What in heck does that error message mean?
This message occurs most of the time when I try to update to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
It would be one thing if it was only occurring on Windows XP, but it shows up on Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1 frequently.
Just for curiousity looked at the Windows 8.1 Event Viewer and NO error message shows up there.
    Would be nice to:
    (1) know what the error really is so that it can be reported to you to get it fixed once and for all.
    (2) have Adobe Flash Installer NOT to delete itself every time that the installer is run.
    (3) have an OFFLINE download installer to download and install Adobe Flash Player without the MacAfee installer.
    (4) have Adobe UNCHECK that the Install MacAfee installer that you have to opt out of each time you do an Adobe Flash Player download. You should make it to OPT IN not OPT OUT! Don't need another program installed without my permission. This causes issues when I have to uninstall MacAfee on computers that others in my family use.
It seems to takes up to 20 times to download the Adobe installer over a period of many days or weeks to get it to install properly.
I have written software for over 36 years as a computer programmer and now Senior Software Developer. I have do installers on my own and have to figure out how to solve my own issues on the installers to get them fixed.
This issue doesn't seem to be tied to any particular version of Windows... Same issue occurs on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1! The ONLY commonality seems to be Adobe Flash Player.
Certainly Adobe should be smart enough to fix this issue once and for all.
If the issue is that there is a network congestion error that it cannot download the installer, please say so and please please please DO NOT delete the downloaded installer every time that it is run on a PC.
I'd like to fix the security issues with the Adobe Flash Player AS SOON as there is a patch for it. I don't like having security issues over a long period of time.
Please address this issue so that I can put this to bed and not have to keep sending you messages that once again the Adobe Flash Player Installer is yet again broken!
Certainly you have a staff at Adobe that CAN fix this problem quickly!

more information about errors can be found in the FlashInstall.log file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (and the SysWOW64 equivalent on 64-bit systems)
the offline installers (below) do not delete themselves
you can find the offline installers
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
the offline installers are not bundled with any 3rd-party crapware

  • I can't install Adobe Flash Player HELP!

I just got my MacBook Pro and I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player but there seems to be a problem and I dont know what it is, it starts installing and it says it is fully installed but when I open youtube it says I need to download it. Does someone know whats wrong

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    Step 1
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 2
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 4
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 5
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 6
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    Step 7
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
