Can anyone let me know which one seems to be the culprit?

I actually suspect it's an ecache issue with cpu0.
Your Solaris kernel patch level is so far down-rev (from 2004) that the OE can't retire the cache page properly, thus the log entries.
These log entries == "Hey, there's an issue and I'm unable to fix it for you."
Also, notice the every-twelve-hour timestamps?
That's cache scrubbing.
The UE's are noted for cpu0 and are REMOTE to cpu1.
Ecache uses an ECC design, just as RAM uses an ECC design.
Glance at Spectrum Infodoc 76028 for a description how your system is down by more than 25 kernel patch revs.
I think you'll need to open a service case with Sun techsupport.
Have an Explorer available when you do.

    Hi Naveen
    Thanks for your reply...
Actaully previously sender channel was working fine, i just updated the default namespace in the channel.
I was getting the error because of wrong namespace in channel (Case sensitive).
So i updated this name space and after activation i am getting above message while testing.

My iTunes says there are 17 songs it cannot locate. How do I locate which songs these are without clicking on each song in my whole library?

To locate all of the broken links in your library try:
    Lost & Found Playlists
Create a regular playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist (it may take some time to count the tracks that are to be dropped). Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist. They can be deleted with Ctrl+A to select them and then Shift+Delete to discard them.
The exercise can be repeated with different media sources if needed.
Or try iTunes Folder Watch with its option to check for dead tracks on startup.

I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • My iPad2 will sometimes hang when loading an mp4. Gives an error message then attempts to resync which hangs until I unplug the iPad.

My iPad2 will sometimes hang when loading an mp4. Gives an error message then attempts to resync which hangs until I unplug the iPad.
I have an iPad 2and have not had any trouble until I up dated my os. I have a pc with win 7.  I do not sync since I have so much music on my computer. I synced my apps during the back up but I had to manually reload my music and videos. Since then I turned off all syncs.
Since I have to load all my movies on this has been happening. I get through about 4 movies then it will hang up. I eventually get an error message that it cannot load this movie. I then attempts to close out. This seems to hang. When I attempt to eject the iPad it attempts to sync and that never finishes. I pull the plug and that stops the sync but I have to restart the computer before I plug back in the iPad or it will not recognize it or it will attempt to finish the sync which never ends. It sometimes hangs on something with safari and site protection.
After I restart my computer I can put in 4 or so movies, including the one it hung on before, but it always hangs up again. Any suggestions?

I am having an almost identical problem and hoped that iOS 6 and the new iTunes would fix it.  Regrettably, I again got 3 movies synced last night before iTunes locked up and gave me the xxxx cannot be synced "because the file cannot be written" message.  Same deal with iTunes hanging on "finishing sync" after that and me having to remove the iPad from the cable to get things to come back to life on the PC (Win 7 64 bit).
I've also done a factory restore followed by a restore from backup and have the same problem.

I just got a retro clock from brookstone and in setting it up it asked if I want to use current location which is incorrectly "Buffalo" but I do not know how to change it.  Can anyone help me find where to change location?

As I understand it, Apple gets your location from the wi-fi router to which your iPod is connected.  Location Services identifies the router and then checks for its location in Apple's database.  If the router has been recently relocated or if there is a glitch in Apple's database, you will get an incorrect location.  I don't think that there is anything you can do about it.  You could send Apple a message about the error, but I doubt if they would do anything about it.

Can anyone tell me if this DIMM is in the top bank or the bottom bank?

Hello! It's saying the bad one is located in J13. Look closely at the motherboard at the end of the ram slots and you should see the labeling. Tom

They all point to DIMM 0, Channel 1, and indicate addresses like 0x00000004xxxxxxxx. My question is: If I am interested in replacing the suspect DIMM, which one is it?
In the User Guide, it indicates I have 8 memory slots, organized in two chunks, each chunk adjacent to a cpu. The diagram says that Slots 1-4 are adjacent to one CPU, and Slots 5-8 are adjacent to the other. I, of course, filled all of them myself. System Profiler tells me about DIMMs 1-8. The kernel panic report seems to tell me that DIMM 0 is to blame, perhaps DIMM 0 in Channel 1. Here is a representation of the slot layout in the User Guide:
    slot 5        CPU
    slot 6        slot 4
    slot 7        slot 3
    slot 8        slot 2
    CPU         slot 1
    latch         latch
where the bottom of the diagram is toward the side of the tray that has the latches that release the tray. The form of answer I'd like to see is something like: Replace the DIMM in Slot 1. Or perhaps: Replace the DIMMs in slot 1 and slot 5.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. The Genius *did* look it up - it took him about 5 actual minutes - and he said that all he could tell was that it was a memory error of some sort. I was asking him specifically what the 4 and 66 meant as well as the hex number. And with a ton of google I was unable find much about it.
I know quite a lot about how to eventually find the bad DIMM, if there is one. The machine in question is used heavily for Photoshop, InDesign, audio editing, some video editing, and programming, and if the memory failures (or memory controller errors) were more frequent, I would engage in classical isolation techniques - and I probably will have to. It simply seemed to me that the information I need is in the kernel panic logs.

  • TO Find out which DIMM is faulty in server.

    SIR/mam,
we have V480 server at our Data Center.AND it shows only 6GB out of 8GB RAM in printdiag command. Now is there any command by which we can identify particular DIMM NO which got faulty?
Please reply .its urgent for me.

Is this question related in any way to your other (very recent) forum posts about RAM?
    Re: Soft errors.
Re: DIMM Memory module related problem
Review the contents of your /var/adm/messages file for any errors at each bootup timestamp.
If there are entries, you will see them specify the individual cpu/memory boards as well as the specific DIMM slots. If the fault has existed for some time before you noticed it, you may need to go through older files as well (messages.0, messages.1, messages.2, etc).
If you cannot find any information that way, you will need to schedule a maintenance window, bring the system down to the OK prompt and then reboot it through a diagnostic POST. Keep in mind that a proper fully diagnostic POST on a V480 can easily take 30 minutes or more.
Once you have narrowed it down, you can power the system down and reseat the questionable memory modules. A normal POST after that will tell you whether all the RAM is working again.
When all else fails, you can grab your service contract number and open a SR to Oracle support.
That should have been your first action when you noticed this, not post a forum question.

  • Have recently acquired an additional black MacBook, and installed Snow Leopard onto it. Trying to get it to connect via a plug-in USB wifi unit (poor reception on Airport) I have an extra Network Location which does not work.  How can I remove it?

Need to get a second hand black MacBook connected.  Poor reception on Airport so tried a plug in wifi aerial. That didn't work, but now have  a Network Location I can't get rid of.  How do I remove it ?

    Hello my ginger,
I tried what you suggested - but to no success.  The problem came up when I was re-entering the new settings.  If I left it as using DHCP it would run for a few seconds with no IP address, then drop in a 169.254 one which would not connect through.  To overcome this I tried using the 'Using DHCP with manual address' option and entered in an address which it had set up from the clone boot.  This appeared to be okay.  When I then tried renewing DHCP lease sometimes that address held.  When I tried connecting though - no sight of the internet, and the exclamation mark was across the wifi icon in the menu bar. If I switched it to Using DHCP it would randomly fall back to the 169.254 address.
The only significant differences I could see when cross checking all the settings info was in the WINS panel the NetBIOS had a slightly different configuration of the name - but as they ended in the same numbers I assumed they were the same.  And, when looking under Keychain Access, in the System section list (it also appeared in the login section) additional info box they had different locations - 28 characters in four groups.  I don't have a clue what this refers to.  Also the allow access list in the boot clone included System Preferences, but did not in the Snow Leopard boot, so I added it in.  With no success.
I am so frustrated I am thinking of giving up.  I seen have loads of postings on the net about a variety of problems with wifi connection on Snow Leopard.  I have version 10.6.3.  Did it get any better in later Snow Leopard ?  Or in any of the OS s after that ? It was always so easy and so solid under Leopard - why the h**l did they change it ?
