Attempt to print and photoshop closes

When printing photo error message appears advising it has encountered a problem. Error appears Mod Name print.dll. Any idea's on how to fix. I have dedleted program and reinstated it.

Ideally problem should get resolved by reindtalling or repairing the application. Try to reinstall Printer driver also.

  • New printer and Photoshop

Just bought a Pixma MX922 and photoshop will not see it! I keep getting a message that I need to install a printer to print. The printer works in other programs, is set as default  but it WILL NOT work in Photoshop and I am tearing my hair out. I probably have about a thousand  photoshop files and I desperately need to fix this!
If you google "photoshop can't see new printer" a ton of other stuff comes up. It is not specific to Canon printers, they will not help me with it, I called them... I see lots of other people having this same problem with other brands also, but I am really hoping that someone here has had this problem and can help me.
I have tried lots of fixes I found online, but none work (creating a new photoshop profile, etc.)
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, Photoshop CS4.
I would sure be interested to see if anyone has had this problem and what they did to fix it!

No, I never got any answers and after finding out that the fax won't work on this printer unless I have my answering machine in my office hooked DIRECTLEY to the printer, I took it back anyway. But this Photoshop thing has happened on 2 different printers I have tried... Canon & Brother. It is a common problem out there and I think I will have to suck it up and go back to HP printers because so far these other brands are not cutting it for me.
Let me know if you find an answer for the Photoshop problem as I am out of town for awhile and planning on buying ANOTHER printer when I get home... I have always used HP, but was trying to break away from their ridicuoulous ink prices, but I give up. If Photoshop works with a new HP printer, I'll let you know!

  • 9500 Mark II Printer and Photoshop (Mac) Quality and Media Grayed Out

I have a PIXMA 9500 Mark II.  I am using the printer on an iMac.  In Photoshop, when I choose Quality and Media, the area to choose paper type and tray are grayed out.  It work fine in Safari.
I have spoken to Canon, Apple and Adobe and no one seems to be able to get it to work.  It works in Safari.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hello larrygm.
Unfortunately, if you continue to have difficulties with accessing the printer settings, we would have to advise that you use our Easy PhotoPrint Pro plugin with Photoshop or print the image using a different program.
The Easy PhotoPrint Pro plugin can be downloaded from our website and is compatible with most versions of Photoshop.  Once installed, you can access the plugin from the File/Automate menu of the program.

  • Where do i put plugin node for my printer and photoshop cs

hello all. i have a question that has been vexing me for some time. where do i place the plugin nodes for my printer software and my photoshop cs? the printer is an epson r200. also, i need to place the scanner plugin for an epson stylus 3200 all-in-one printer. i have read the help library for each app, but haven't found where ot put them. thanks for your time and attntion, mcrat

    I have that printer...
Maybe we can approach this differently? I haven't manually installed anything and the printer prints fine. To start, have you Added the printer using More Printers > Epson USB? That's how you use the epson driver. If that's not it, can you explain what isn't working?

  • Illustrator and photoshop close very slow

I have a strange problem here.
When i save some filse in one of the programs and want to close only the file window, it closes very slow. Even if i only oppend the file, with no work done over it. Even if i open a blank file and want to close it. It often takes 10-20 sec just for that.
I'm runinng win7 64 bit professional with cs5 production premium.
    Computer is hp z400 workstation.
    What could it be?

There is no way the computer is slow.
It is - if it is misconfigured or poorly maintained. All your symptoms quite clearly point to issues with your temporary directories, user home directory and the system swap file, in turn inevitably leading me to the conclusion that you are either using a slow SSD drive or have a problem with your SATA/IDE controller. Probably it's running in some slow legacy compatibility mode even. Look into those things and also read this article on my pages for some general guidance. Maybe something applies to your situation and it can be fixed easily.

  • When I download a PDF file using Adobe I get a black screen when attempting to print and if I save the file I get a corrupted response when opening it.

This does not always happen, for example if I get a PDF file by email, it appears to be primarilly when I download from the internet.
I use Adobe Reader X1. Can you assist please. Thanks

Thanks Eric, no it does not help the matter. I opened the file using preview and the same message appeared. Thanks.

  • Using Javascript to print and close window

I found that I could open my document in a browser and using Javascript, automatically bring up a print dialog and send it to the printer. My problem is that this document opens in a browser that is being used as a kiosk touch screen with no address or navigation bar at the top (they are hidden).
I would like to ave the pdf open in a new window, print and then close, making the original window viewable again. Is this possible?
I have tried adding window.close() right after the print command, but it doesn't seem to work. Am I simply adding the close command incorrectly?
    var pp = this.getPrintParams();
    pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.automatic;
    this.print(pp);
    window.close();

This is what commands are allowed in Javascript for Mozilla Products. IF they haven't been touched by the user of the browser many of these are turned off by default.

  • Problem Printing from Photoshop CS-5 (version 12.0) since installing Yosemite on iMac.

Any attempt to print from Photoshop CS-5 results in Photoshop crashing when I try to enter print settings such as paper profiles. I use several Macs and printers including an Epson Stylus Pro 4880 and a All-in-One Epson Workforce 7520. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop; uninstalled and reinstalled print drivers for both printers. I have the same printing problems with jpegs and raw files both large and small. I can print from the computers while using Yosemite if I print from other applications including InDesign CS-5.  I think I have tried all the suggestions that have been offered in this forum.
Fortunately I have a Macbook that I forgot to upgrade. It has OS 10.9 and CS-4 installed and once I installed the Epson drivers, it worked! So, I can meet my deadlines but still would like to work from my large desktop machines. After long sessions with a very helpful Epson technician and carefully going through the comments in this forum, I am convinced the problem is in Apple's new operating system.

Which reminds me, update 10.10.1 is out. Have you installed it?
Also sometimes this works: Resetting your Photoshop Preferences from the keyboard:
Hold down cmd-opt-shift and start Photoshop and agree to "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file"

  • Illustrator and Photoshop for creating web banners?

My company for years has worked with print products. We recently started creating web banners. We use Illustrator for the layout for print and Photoshop for the layout of web products. I have artists who dont see the difference between the two. They want to continue to create web banners in Illustrator. Or they want to export the Illustrator file into Photoshop with the layers. But, to export it this way it has to be cmyk. ugghhh. Can somebody please give me valuable reasons on what application is best and why? Thank you very much!

    >But, to export it this way it has to be cmyk.
    Not true.
Illustrator is "best" for vector. Photoshop is "best" for raster.
I would let your artists work in whatever program they feel they produce the "best" art. You should be able to quickly and easily develop a workflow around their needs. If you cannot, then you have your answer too.

  • Printing in Photoshop?

Watching a Richard Harrington tutorial in I-Tunes where he recommends letting the Printer Manage the print job!
Huh? Thot the idea behind Calibration was for Photoshop to manage printing once you have calibrated your monitor and loaded that calibration??
    I'm Confused?

No, the point of calibrating your monitor is so that it displays colors accurately. As for who to let to manage the colors during printing, there are so many conflicting opinions that i simply consider it up to personal preference, just try out all the options (only Photoshop, only the printer and both the printer and Photoshop manages colors) and see which version you prefer

  • Lexmark P4350 and Photoshop CS

Neither are working now that leopard is installed.
No one seems to know why,
Help me please im a student in desperate need of both printer and photoshop

I'm not sure how much this will help, but I had the same problem when I installed a lexmark 3300 series driver on my macbook. All adobe programs worked, except photoshop which would not open. There are three lexmark folders/files that need to be deleted before reinstalling as described on the following lexmark webpage. Below is a thread from "ocb" which describes how to find and delete two of the folders. From "ocb":
remember to delete System/Library/Extentions/LexmarkUSBMerge.kext as well as the other Lexmark folder (in /Library/Printers/). Full details at http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,2048165961160493508_0en,00.html
I'm sorry, but I can't remember where I found the third. I believe it was under a system folder, but it may have been under a user folder. I was just excited that I found it. Anyway, after deleting all three, photoshop CS works just fine. I would suggest following the lexmark driver reinstall from your OS DVD if you need to use the printer.

  • I Cannot Print From Photoshop CC, Performance is SLOW and TYPE causes a problems.

    Hi!
To start, I have noticed HUGE bugs with Photoshop CC on multiple levels on different computers with different setups.
    Computer one
Print Issues:  I am getting this error message "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of photoshop, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing" and "The saved print information is an incompatible version. It has been set to default values.". I have tried deleting the pref file, updating the printer driver, checking print logs and computer updates. All are up to date and running well. When I hit print, the dialog box comes up but will not allow me to change ANYTHING. So I can only print on an 8.5x11. However if i go into the actual printer preferences and change the default settings there, then go to photoshop and print it will allow me to the size I set the defaults at. I can print from any other program without an issue and I did not have any such problems with CS6. What other causes could be the cause of this and what are your suggestions to fix this? It seems to be a Photoshop bug, which is what I have been reading a lot of.  I work off a Dell, windows 8.1 64bit. I would LOVE to downgrade to CS6 but cannot once I upgraded to CC. I did not have this problem when I first upgraded and for a few weeks after.
Performance and Font Issues: This seems(ed) to go hand and hand. But also performance happens more sporadically for some odd reason. The CPU usage and MEMORY went to 100% and photoshop was using 1,860.2 sometimes spiking to 4,000 MB of memory.  I searched all the forums and found that my photoshop was not liking a specific font. I removed the font and things started moving faster. Then a few minutes later, it started to lag again with the same type of CPU and MEMORY spike. I then did more research and found that turning off the font preview has helped, so I turned off that. Photoshop started to work A LOT faster, no lag and seemed to function correctly. The 2 weeks ago, I started to experience the lag again (but without the CPU and MEMORY spike) and with only opening certain files to which none had any fonts that Adobe has said doesn't work with photoshop. I then researched again and found that again, the fonts preview when hoovering over the fonts and having the fonts change in the document was giving issues. Alass...there was my issue, again with the fonts. I then did all the research and did what the forums said such as, try using a brand new doc and create a file with out any of the fonts in the old doc to cause conflicts. NOPE. I was having issues in the new doc and getting this error "Could not complete your request because of program error" then photoshop would lock up because of CPU and MEMORY spike.
    Computer two:
Same issue as computer one's Performance and Font Issues.
Now, I am no programmer nor do I understand that complexity of what goes in to create these programs, but EVERY ADOBE forum I have read will not admit it's a font issue or that there is a problem with the fonts, BUT my WEEKS of issues and research all keep coming back to FONTS when dealing with performance issues. So how can we get a fix on the fonts issue asap as my team nor I cannot work in the current photoshop because of performance issues?
A quick response would be much appreciated!
    Thank you much!
UPDATE: I received a phone call from ADOBE and they said to me that they could send me a CS6 version that i wouldn't have to pay for and would also "Solve My Problem". I said, no thank you being that I have the CC and have access to ALL the programs, so that actually doesn't solve my problem or the overall problem of the CC program. So they escalated my problem and will have someone else respond to me as soon as possible.

Quite frankly that’s too much text for me to read in one post … (edit: So consider this more of a bump of the thread than an actual attempt at helping.)

  • Printing Problem with Pro-100 and Photoshop

This is my setup: using Mac Pro running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) & editing & printing from Photoshop CS 6. I have new Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer and set it up OK. First thing printed was a page from a document from MS Word on 8.5X11 plain paper - this came out OK. Next I fire up Photoshop and open a 4X6 inch image (just a snapshot in jpeg, landscape format) to do a test print.  I set it up in the print dialog as 4X6 paper, Canon's Pro Glossy paper profile, rear tray, standard print quality, Photoshop manages the color.  I load the paper in the rear tray close the covers and hit print.
Now, when it starts to print the printer moves about 3.8 inches of paper out of the printer and it starts printing on the remaining 2.2 inches then spits the paper out.  It does this in Photoshop (any image, it doesn't matter), and it does it printing from Nikon’s Capture NX.  I have been able to get it to print on the paper correctly using Apple's Preview program but that that's not going to do me any good. I was on the phone with Canon tech support for about 2 hours and they were completely puzzled suggesting I would have to use Canon's printing apps instead to print - that doesn't do me any good either. I want to be able to print from Photoshop. I have the most recent Canon driver, and Photoshop is up to date. Any one every heard of this or experienced the same problem?  I don’t think I’ve overlooked anything. Thanks JMDavis!

    Hi JMDavis,
Have you tried printing using the Print Studio Pro plugin for Photoshop?  If this is not install, it is available for download from Canon's web site.  To download and install Print Studio Pro, please follow these steps:
     1.  Visit Canon's website at:    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer
     2.  Type PIXMA PRO-100 in the "Enter Your Model Name" box and click GO.
     3.  On the Support page for your unit, click the 'Drivers & Software' link in the middle of the page.
     4.  Click Software.
     5.  Click on Print Studio Pro.
     6.  If you agree, please select the checkbox next to "I have read and agree to the terms of the Disclaimer and wish to continue with the download".
     7.  Click on the Download button.
     8.  The file will be downloaded to your Downloads folder.
     9.  Once the download is complete, close all windows.
    10.  Double click [mpsp-mac-1_3_5-ea9_2.dmg] in your Downloads folder.  Files will extract.
Follow the prompts and installation will complete.
Once installed, please open your image in Photoshop and print it using the Print Studio Pro plugin.

  • Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer ejects 3.8 in of a 4X6 paper and prints only 2.2 in of the image printing from Photoshop CS6, I'm sure I set everything correctly - what could I be missing?

I want to be able to print from Photoshop.  Any one every heard of this or experienced the same
    problem? Thanks JamesD!

Hello again. I recognize that a print is good if you like it and bad if you don't, despite what others might say, but I will at least share my experiences. They might help you or others who are following this thread.
My monitor is calibrated with Spyder 3. Gamma 2.2, 6500K, 83 cd/m^2. Contrast at 50%; brightness about 52%. My monitor lets me choose blackness level - it defaults to 50%.
When I print the test image I linked to above, using Lightroom, with no adjustments, my technical output is as follows:
Middle step wedge shows twelve disticnt steps. Whitest step is color of unprinted paper.
It varies from paper to paper, but I can discerne at least the 252 step and on some papers 253 - telling me I have good highlight detail.
On the black side I discerne 8 or 10, nothing lower. (That sounds like what you are reporting).
Artistically I am very happy how my print looks - nice red strawberries, good flesh tones, etc.
One my monitor, the on-screen image is almost identical to the print. I am surprised that you can see the 2 wedge step on screen at a very similar brightness.
I also checked out this B&W test image:
    http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/bw_printing/bw-test-image-2.html
You are probably aware of this since you are printing with Print Studio Pro, but others may not be.
You can print a series of test images:
find the one that best suits your taste, enter the calibration values in PSP, and save them as a custom setting. Then, each time you want to print recall the setting.
You can do a similar thing in Lightroom using the printer driver and User Templates.
There would be some one-time trial and error to that approach.
