When I started my old version of Firefox (3.something) I got a message recommending that I install a new version 4.0. When I downloaded it and opened Firefox 4.0.dmg, it had a Ø sign through the icon. When I drag it to my applications folder, it will not start. I get the following message "You cannot open the application "Firefox.app" because it si not supported on this system." I cannot find the previous version to re-install it, so I'm completely without Firefox.
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

Windows or apple it makes no difference, if you don't have the install discs you can't install.
Did you buy the machine with Adobe (you don't say what adobe program you're talking about) installed? If so the vendor should have given you the discs or else it's technically a pirated copy. If you're talking about acrobat (which is free) then you should be able to find older versions on the adobe site. -
My iPad has shut down during an update and won't start up or charge now.
I was in the middle of updating to iOS 7.0.3 and the update had downloaded, then when it went ot install, my iPad shut down and now I can't start it and it won't charge up. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, how do I fix it?

The save button has a null sign through it and we cannot save the project
For the last 45 minutes the save button does not work. The project link button will not let us share, use or view source. There is a null sign through it as well as through the save button.
Did you Sign In first, before starting your project?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.I've never had this problem before... today I opened iTunes and it prompted me to download the newest version. I use iTunes all the time and have updated it multiple times with no issues. During the installation process it gave me an error message that said:

I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer. I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:

I did not leave anything out from the error message. It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..." Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue? I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse. I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs. I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes to my PC (windows XP) and I keep getting an error message or two. One is that it can't uninstall the previous itunes version, the other is that it can't find itunes.msi. I have tried removing the old version in add/remove programs, but it says the same error. I tried deleting every thing that has itunes in the file/folder/etc and it didn't help.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

i have a canon 70d and just purchased elements 12. It will not open a raw file for me. I have been advised to download the latest version of camera raw, i have done this and it still says my camera is not supported. I really need to open my raw files. Can anybody help me.
You'll need to update to at least ACR 8.2 for the 70D to be recognized. The normal way to update PSE12 to the latest CR is to use Help / Updates in the Editor which should update to ACR 8.5.
According to Adobe's website PSE12 shipped with ACR 8.1 and you say it says yours is reported as ACR 8.0.
Are you using PSE 11 and not 12? PSE 11's maximum ACR version is 8.0. -

1 Mount the Flash Player installer .dmg file
2 Copy the "Install Adobe Flash Player" file to desktop or any other directory as preferred
3 Open terminal and cd to desktop or the other directory
4 Run the following command on terminal: sudo ./Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player.app/Contents/MacOS/Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player
5 Insert the password when asked -

I just updated my macbook pro and now every time i go to youtube it tells me I have to download the new version of adobe flash player so i do and it still wont let me play it ..
Assuming Allan's advice is not correct, and you do run the installer, I think I've heard of that problem and it involves removing the old Flash plug-ins, then install the new version. I don't use it so I don't know what they are called, but will be the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder.
You can go here and enable HTML5 in YouTube so you don't have to use Flash: http://www.youtube.com/html5
Most(?) of the content is HTML5, but you may run into videos where you still need Flash. -
