Attempted to install ios8 on ipad 3.  Crashed ipad

Attempted to install ios 8 on iPad 3.  iTunes stated that I needed to restore the iPad.  I tried again and same message, so I clicked on restore.  iPad went dead.  Cannot get it to come back on

iOS 8 has not yet been released by Apple. If you are trying to install a beta version, this version is used by developers to discover "bugs" which should be fixed before the final release of iOS 8 sometime later in the year.
Are you a developer?
If not, you may have "bricked" your iPad. You'll have to Google for answers on how to solve the iOS install problem.
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

    Hello, Reza104.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I would recommend going through for this issue.

  • I have installed iOs8 on iPad and the home screen is locked on portrait yet all have rotate

After installing ios8, the home screen is locked out in portrait mode yet all the apps rotate to landscape.. what's up?

If there isn't a padlock icon at the top right of the iPad's screen then have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Install iOS8 on ipad mini(first edition) not completed

It gets thru download from app store and lengthy "preparing" step, next thing I know the screen is black.  On awakening, everything is at it was.
    Tried it twice, same result.
Did find two entries in "Diagnostics & Usage" of the form "OTAUpdate-<the date & time>.ips
    Neither entry has any content
    Capacity 12.2 GB
    Available 8.6 GB

    Thanks for your idea, Brian.
This WAS a Wi-Fi process.  And I did a hard restart on the device, no help.
So I plugged iPad into iTunes on my Mac over USB, and had it install the update.  Installed ok, guess my problem is solved.

    Hi sumon fromkolkata,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're running into an issue updating your iPad to iOS 8. The article linked below provides a lot of great troubleshooting tips that will resolve most over the air update issues.

  • My Iphone 5 crashed after installing ios8

My iphone 5 crashed when downloading and installing ios8 update.   Tried to retrieve in iTunes, but gets error code
    What do I do now??

    Hi tutts1111,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing, and/or what exactly you are currently seeing. If your iPhone won't start up or respond, you may find the following article helpful:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
On the other hand, if the frozen screen you are seeing is an icon screen directing you to connect to iTunes, or you are otherwise unable to update/restore your iPhone, then this article may be of more use:

  • Attempting to install Creative Cloud Installer crashes my computer

I am attempting to install Adobe products from Creative Cloud using Creative Cloud installer. I am on a Macbook Pro version 10.6.8 Build 10K459 if that helps at all.
When I try to install, the authentication window asking for the admin password crashes and I can't type in the window. When I cancel the download, Finder crashes and the only course of action is to reboot the computer manually via the power button.
I can install other programs which go through the same administrator permission without issue, so I'm quite sure this is not my computer's problem. I have re-downloaded the installer several times to no difference.
One additional detail that may help is that I had trials of Photoshop and Flash Pro on the same computer in the past, which have been uninstalled.
    Thank you for any help!!

Just another detail - I was advised to try creating a new user with administrator privilege on my computer, this didn't work either, just had the same problem.

  • Oracle Installer crashes in Windows XP attempting to install 10g database

I downloaded the file "10201_database_win32.zip" from oracle, and attempted to install it on a Windows XP Professional 2002 with SP2. It crashes immediately, giving me no information at all. It starts with messages:
No pre-requisite checks found in oraparam.ini, no system pre-requisite checks will be executed.
Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from C:\DOCUME~1\Windows\LOCALS~1\Temp\OraInstall2006-06-21_08046022PM. Please wait ...
Immediately after that, I get the windows messagebox saying:
oui.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The only other information I can find is the InstallActions log file, which contains:
    Using paramFile: C:\Documents and Settings\Windows\My Documents\Doug\Internet Updates\Oracle\10201_database_win32\database\install\oraparam.ini
No pre-requisite checks found in oraparam.ini, no system pre-requisite checks will be executed.
    The commandline for unzip:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Windows\My Documents\Doug\Internet Updates\Oracle\10201_database_win32\database\install\unzip -qqq ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.4.2.8.0/1/DataFiles/"*.jar" -d "C:\DOCUME~1\Windows\LOCALS~1\Temp\OraInstall2006-06-21_08-46-22PM"
If anybody can give me any help, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

The Installer crashes, then it surely should be something to do with memory issue...or the explorer.
    Is your windows xp stable?
plus do you have enough free space in your c drive ?!
It has nothing to do with the OS admin..login...
The installer is exiting and should be an OS resource issue..
i would have checked for space and memory ...then looked at my OS. Any back ground crazy internet programs running....
I would look at OS since oracle successfully installs in windows xp without a hitch!

  • I tried to install the Watch ABC (a free app) on my iPad from the AppStore. It would not download. I attempted to install it a second time, and got the message "You've already purchased this, so it will downloaded now at no additional charge." Any advice?

I tried to install the Watch ABC (a free app) on my iPad from the AppStore. It would not download. I attempted to install it a second time, and got the message "You've already purchased this, so it will downloaded now at no additional charge." Any advice? This is a fee app so I do not understand the message referencing a purchased app. I get the cloud symbol, but it will not download. I closed the App Store app and restarted my iPad, but to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You are aware that there the app may have downloaded and been placed on the second screen.  Not the main one.  Can you swipe to the right to see if it is there?

  • HT4623 Has anyone had trouble installing 7.1 wirelessly on an ipad mini w/retina?  I downloaded the update, but when I attempt to install, I get an error message saying that I am not connected to the internet when I know that I am!

It downloaded fine, but when I attempt to install it won't verify, saying that I am not connected to the internet when I know that I am!  Tried on several wifi connections while plugged into power source.  Any advice is appreciated!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

my ipad froze in the apple logo restart screen when I tried to install ios8.  it wont do anything.  please help!

Try a reset.  Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • IPad is slow to respond after installing ios8

i installed ios8 on my iPad 2. It is now very slow and sometimes doesn't connect at all or kicks me out of site I am using. Can I delete ios8 from ipad

Never reveal any personal information while online as you don't know who may be looking at it. And if you have to (with your bank for instance), be very careful that you are actually on their site and never respond or click on anything from so called "phishing" emails: emails that look just like they came from Apple, your bank, etc. all telling you that your account will be closed unless you click here and put in your information - your bank (or Apple) does not send out such emails, only people who want to steal your information do. If you're not sure, contact your bank and ask if they sent an email, but don't click on anything in that email.
