Attempting to download trial - Akamai DM reports "network failure"

Hello,
If there is a more pertinent place for this issue, could a moderator/Adobe employee please move it? Thanks.
Basically, the issue is this. I am attempting to download the Acrobat Pro Extended trial, but the download of the Akamai DM fails with "network failure" error. I have been attempting to download said trial for the past month, each time failing with an identical error. I have checked my firewall (McAfee) nothing seems to be amiss there (I've even attempted to download it with the firewall switched off - made no difference).
This is a standalone machine, no network, no proxy.
I find this REALLY infuriating - why can't Adobe use a normal delivery system like every other software company offering trials? Even downloading from Macro$haft isn't this frustrating!
Sorry for the rant but, after a month of failed attempts to clear the first hurdle, I'm sure you can allow me a small one! Speaking of M$, I must register my frustration that I cannot use my browser of choice (Opera) to even attempt the ADM download - it doesn't appear to support Firefox, or Chrome either. Yep, the only browser that will attempt to connect to Adobe's servers is IE - a browser which, if I had any say in the matter, would be obliterated from the face of the Earth!
Please be gentle with me, I'm NOT a Winblows person (this is my parents' system, running eXtra Problems Home, Supplementary Problems 3). I prefer more sensible, logical OSs, such as those developed by Apple. I'm only back on Winblows because I'm selling my Mac Pro to finance the purchase of a MacBook Pro, as that is more relevant to my current needs.
Thank you very much for any assistance you can give me (and I hope this thread isn't removed!)
Sarah

I'm sorry you are having problems. May I suggest you try to download the trial on your Mac and move the file on to the Windows machine after a successful download. I'm not a fan of downloading utilities, I think with today's faster net its need is minimal, but I do not have the data Adobe does. They must think it is helpful. I'd like them to offer an alternative for people with issues, perhaps loading their ftp site with the trial software for people. However, for the most part we are just users here.
Perhaps this would be a better venue to register your complaint about the downloaders: http://www.adobe.com/bin/webfeedback.cgi
Another alternative is the adobe.com forum.

Hiya. Just downloaded ADA there but when I go into the 'video' subsection I can't find Adobe Audition? Is it not still on offer for trial? This is the website I downloaded ASA from... http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=audition

Check your system and refer to the Tech Specs. the simple rule is: If it doesn't show up, then your system doesn't meet the requirements. if you have otehr problems, provide more details.

  • FaceTime reports Network failure while logging! help appreciated

I upgraded my intel Imac software to Os X 10.7.2. While logging on to  FaceTime - reports "error in network connection. check with your sevice provider" and my net connection drops very frequently since the upgrade from snow leopard.
On my Ipad I can successfully logon to FaceTime on the same network! I have Mac Keeper antivirus software installed. Seek help. Thanks.

I don't have a solution to your problem, but I would recommend getting rid of MacKeeper now. It will cause you a LOT more trouble than it's worth.

Thank you for replying. On the second try, I accepted and messages started coming up concerning my acceptance. I haven't attempted it again and really need to get this trial copy downloaded.

  • I get unwanted massive page downloads to my download PDF file every time I attempt to download something I want; this download takes over my MacBook and I have to force quite to stop the download.

This started happening after I attempted to download my property tax report from the county. I will get the page I actually wanted to download but I also get page after page of unwanted material downloaded to my MacBook. The only way I can stop the massive page download is to force quite the MacBook and then restart it and delete all the unwanted pages.

I have updated my firefox files as directed, is there anything else I can or should do?

After two days waiting to get my educational eligibility verified this is extremely frustrating. Adobe, fix your internal server errors immediately please. I paid for your product and I cannot even get it, this is no way to treat customers. I am a student and need to use these products NOW.

How do i stop photoshop cs4 from quitting unexpectedly when saving a photoshop pdf? i attempted to download the adobe drive 5 but the installation keeps failing. I went through the process of clicking through the how to's and the troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that I need to install the adobe drive 5 but I can not complete the installation. I may be incorrect on this so I need immediate assistance as I have poster and ad deadlines. I also tried disabling the gatekeeper and solution 3 on the troubleshooting of slow saving on photoshop.
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Thank you!

Are you attempting to save the file to a network location instead of your local hard drive? If so, this is probably why you are encountering an issue and why Adobe Drive would be the solution. As we've documented, it is a bad idea to open from or save directly to a network source: Networks, removable media | Photoshop | CS4 and later. Drive can help you get around this by setting up an Adobe supported virtual connection to the network. Thus, if installing Adobe Drive is the solution you need and your need help with installing Drive, please post to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
If you are not saving to a network location, then Adobe Drive is not going to be the answer. Then we'll need to know more about the file you are saving.

  • Problem Downloading Trial Version of Lightroom 4 from Adobe Site

    Problem dow
I am having problem downolading a trial version of Lightroom 4 from the Adobe site. It appears that I can download trial versions of any other digital photography-related product but not of Lightroom 4. About 2 weeks ago I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Elements and I have been getting familiar with it. I have to make a decision on the best product for my needs.
I went to Vistek shop in Ottawa yesterday and one of the specialist told me that maybe Lightroom would better meet my needs. Prior to purchasing, I am trying to test both product to understand the fundamental differences. For some reason, when I go to the download site ( https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom) and click on the download button, nothing happens. Given that I am a System's Engineer by trade, I thought that perhaps I cannot install 2 trial copies of adobe products on a single workstation so I tried downloading Lightroom 4 from 3 different PC/laptops but got the same results...
Can anybody help. This is a bit frustrating given that the Adobe element trial is coming to an end (about 2 weeks) and I want to proceed with purchasing the RIGHT PRODUCT...

The link, just above, is the latest update to LR 4.2 which may work fine.
About the original trial download page you had issues with, it does take a few seconds for the download button to become active, and once you click it, it takes a few more seconds for either a login pop to come up or the download, itself, to start, so maybe you have a popup blocker enabled or some security that doesn’t allow the download to occur.  You might try a different browser.  The following link is what the download attempts to use, but you need to have signed in to your Adobe account before trying to use it, I think:

  • Trouble downloading trial version of PSE 10 onto MacMini

I purchased PSE 10 software to install on my mac mini OSX 10.8.1. When I put the disc into my external drive, the software does not begin installing. I was told to try to download trial version from Adobe and later, enter my Key Code to install software this way. I downloaded the Adobe Download Assistant just fine but am getting Error 109 when I try to download the trial version. My network connection is fine and my disk is brand new. Please help.

    Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant
And make sure you use the right disc (Disc 3) in the first place. Macs also do not autorun, so you need to launch the installer manually.

  • New to PhotoShop cs6 / Tutorial Downloading Trial Version

    hello
I am simply trying to download and install Photoshop cs6 trial version.  I can somewhat plainly see that here are tutorials on the web regarding this.  Looking at them  while being many.  But as a new comer to adobe I am hesitant in choosing a tutorial for downloading and installing the program.  I am intertested in finding the closes tutorial that will fit my needs so not to run into any problems  while attempting the download & Installation.   My computer is  hp windows 7.  Home Premiun.  AMD Phenon (tm) 2 x 4 with a 840 T Processor 2.90 GHZ.  6 GB of Ram Services Pack 1.  Using Internet Explorer 9.  Also using the default  Zip utilties functions that came with the computer.
If anyone one can point out a closes step by step tutorial regarding the download it would help me a great deal for any future indevers with Photoshop.     Thank you Jon.

I don't know what's going on for you, but the page I linked to is only about Photoshop CS6.  This is all I see there:
I see the word "crack" in your response...  That implies you're trying to do something illegal.  Understand that no one here is going to help you install Photoshop illegally.  You need to stop doing that immediately!

  • Trying to download trial of Adobe acrobat.

Trying to download trial of Adobe acrobat.  After I sign in, the Adobe download assistant says:  "Error 100.  Error communicating with Adobe.com.  Check your network connection and restart Adobe download assistant.  Did that several times with the same result.

Not sure, but sometimes you just have to wait a while (maybe even a day) and try again. The server may be down.
