Attempting to install firefox but getting a file corrupt message
i'm using windows xp on my laptop, the file is downloading however when i click run in order to install i'm getting an error message which reads file corrupt
Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
If that doesn't solve the problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.

Re-downloading Firefox, keep getting "error:file corrupt". won't download.
'''I recently had to restore my desktop to factory condition. I am trying to get Firefox back, but have tried to download 3 times and keep getting, "error: file corrupt". It will not download, any ideas? thanks!'''
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Everytime I download Firefox and then try to run it, I get a "file corrupted" message.
After downloading Firefox 6, I have tried to run Firefox 6 on three different computers and each time I get a message "file is corrupt". I tried it on different computers because I thought maybe there was a problem with the computer that I downloaded it on, but I get the same result. What am I doing wrong?
In the following, try the suggestions in 9, 10, and 11 in the following article first. If that does not work, look at the remainder of the suggestion in the following article.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; AntivirXP08; GTB6.3; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; MS-RTC LM 8)When you click the download link on [http://getfirefox.com GetFirefox.com], you should be asked if you wish to Run or Save the file. If the described situation happens when trying to Run the download, try instead to Save it and put the file on your Desktop or a similar place where you are certain that you can find it again.
When the download is complete, try double-clicking the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from My Computer). This should start the installation.
If you notice in the Explorer window that the file seems to be lacking the Firefox orange/blue icon, rightclick the file and select Properties. The picture should look somewhat like the attached picture (except that mine's in danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it does NOT look like this, please describe the contents or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File type" - it should be "Program"; if it's not, we'll have to look into what the problem could be here.
Slightly off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit out of date (IE 6, where current version is IE 8), so I would strongly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system updated. If this is a company system (like a Terminal Server thin client machine), this may not be possible, and your system administrator will most likely have to help you. -

Tried to install Firefox but an error message "Extraction failed - cannot open output file" always pops up, without a reason. Why's this happening?
Try to disable your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes it work.
You may need to delete the temp folder (%TEMP%) to remove the old files. -

cannot install firefox or adobe flash get file corrupt message:
cannot play videosTry installing from the Offline Installer. It may be a temporary folder permissions error, so this may fix it. Here is a link to try to download from:

I have installed Firefox but when I click on the icon, nothing happens.
I have just downloaded and installed firefox, but when I click on the icon nothing happens.
In case you haven't solved this by now...
Sometimes your security software will block new programs from accessing the internet. Are you getting any alerts along those lines?
Sometimes Firefox will stall during startup and never display its window. In that case, you may need to manually "kill" the firefox.exe process using the Windows Task Manager before trying to start Firefox again.
You can display the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Esc. Windows 8.1 has a different display than Windows 7, so I have to go by memory. If you see a tab named Applications, check that one first. Then check Processes, and finally check Details. If you find Firefox or firefox.exe on any of those tabs, select it and End Process (or other action to shut it down).
After you are done with the Task Manager, try starting Firefox up again.

I have downloaded "Lightroom_5_LS11_mac_5_7.dmg" for Mac to update my Lightroom 5.6 (build 974614) but when I attempt to open it I get the following error message "Lightroom_5_LS11_mac_5_7.dmg can't be opened as the disk image is not recognised". I'm running Yosemite OS 10.10 on a Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012 with 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 processor).
Vk2mh it sounds like the download was not complete or corrupted. Where are you downloading the update from? Have you tried downloading again?

I have an older Macbook with OS/X. Tried to download iTunes 10 a few times now, but when installing I always get the same error message: Run Preinstall Script for Apple Mobile Device Support. What can I do to finalise the installation?
Thanks. Short of the sort of "generic" suggestions of restaring your system, if you haven't, and repairing disk permissions and verifying the disk, I don't have any advice right now. I'll do some research and see if I can come across anything. Meanwhile, someone else may have an idea.

I've downloaded acrobat XI Pro, installed it, but get "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server error message.
Hi Bruce,
Please open registry by typing "regedit" in the Run window (Windows + R)
Now, navigate to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application and changing the Key from "AcroviewA10" to "AcroviewR10.
Now, try launching Acrobat and let me know if the issue resolves.
