Attempting to install Flash plugin 11.4 but getting error: application currently in use

I try to get a support in the Adobe forum. While I am waiting for any responses, I might as well look for the same here. Maybe someone have an idea.
Last night, my Firefox 16.0.2 prompted sites like Youtube to upgrade my Flash Player. First attempt at installation was successful (if I remember it), but somehow Firefox slowed down at confirmation. So, I try to uninstall and reinstall Flash Player. Yes, I did complete uninstallation. Any subsequent attempts led to error: application currently in use.
Earlier today, I resetted my Firefox browser. First attempt at another installation was successful, but the browser seemed to hang or slow down for a while until the Flash confirmation page showed up. I thought for sometime, everything went fine. It did not when I was having trouble watching flash player content from a site. I figured I better uninstall and reinstall it again. Here I go again with the error message like the above.
Any idea what I should do next or how should fix this? Any input is appreciated. I'm using Windows 7

Please restart you computer after the uninstall then try installing again.
Thanks!

  • Attempting to Upgrade to Flash Player 11.4 - Error: application currently in use

I noticed that at least other have experienced this, but in a different browser.
Since last night, sites like Youtube has prompted to install the latest version of Flash Player. So, I went ahead installing the new version by following the instructions. Somehow, I kept getting this message - Error: application currently in use. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but kept getting that error message.
The browser with the problem is Firefox 16.0.2. I'm using Windows 7. The problem does not appear in Chrome and Chrome has not prompted me to upgrade to the latest version of Flash player.
    I appreciate any input.
    Thanks,
    G.
Please don't refer back to that Flash Player Issues Link, because I have visited it many times. The guide there has not specifically address this issue much.

Could you please download the installer from the following link: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
Then close all browsers and double-click the downloaded file.
    Thanks,

Ended up fixing the problem after finding no answers. Deleted the following file

Are you confusing this with LabVIEW for Lego MINDSTORMS? LabVIEW for Lego MINDSTORMS is a customized version of LabVIEW that is a complete development environment. It uses a customized version of LabVIEW.
The MINDSTORMS Toolkit, on the other hand, requires that you have the LabVIEW Development Environment.

  • Tryin to install iTunes 10.5.1 but get error message

When trying to install iTunes 10.5.1 on my laptop I keep getting this message "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." Windows said to contact Apple. The IT rep from Apple just gave me a bunch of links that haven't helped. I followed one of the troubleshooting links and now I can't even reload the older version of iTunes. Can anyone guide me through what is required?

Did you ever find an answer to this problem as I have encountered it now and it is very frustrating?

so I tried what you said however it gives me a message that says "this is the startup volume, it can not be erased" any recommendations?
Use the disk utilities from the 10.6 installer disk.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8494.html
Note that this will completely erase the disk.
You need to boot from the DVD, not the internal drive

  • Multiple attempts at installing flash player have failed

I have attempted at least 7 times to download & install Flash Player.  I still get Alerts when I try to watch video on abc.com.  Why isn't flash player updating?
also, once I get to step 3 of 3, there's an ad to purchase something that I don't want.  there's no button to push that says "no thanks".  Should I just close out the page?

It sounds like you've completed the installation successfully, but it's not working in your browser for some other reason.
This is typically caused by third-party add-ons like ad-blocking or anti-tracking plugins, or third party anti-virus/anti-malware tools.  If none of that stuff sounds familiar, you might want to make sure you're running a current version of Firefox.
If that doesn't work, you can try refreshing Firefox:
Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings | Firefox Help
If you're still stuck, then something is corrupted.
I'd check to make sure that the filesystem is in good shape:
    http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2641432
Then I would uninstall and reinstall both Firefox and Flash:
    Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
    Internet Explorer:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_ax.exe
    Firefox and other NPAPI browsers:

I am running IE 11 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Service Pack 1. When I attempt to install Flash Player, it goes through all of the steps, tells me the player is installed, and welcomes me. I cannot open the player and it does not appear in the Start Menu, Task Manager, System Tray, or anywhere else. When I try to open a file, the site tells me Flash player is not installed. I have even downloaded it to a separate folder and ran the install with IE shut down completely. And Shockwave in ENABLED but in 32 bit .I have been trying to get this to work for about 3 weeks now.  HELP!!!

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

  • Installing Flash 11 appears successful but doesn't reveal movie on Adobe flash test page

repeated attempts to install flash 11 (successfully) have not eliminated the error when I use the Adobe Flash Test screen/movie.

    Pat,
I'VE READ THE LATEST ATTACHMENTS TO THE EMAIL BELOW.  They require screen shots of error messages WHICH I'VE ALREADY PROVIDED.
My reaction to the latest email is that no one took the time to actually understand what I've already communicated.
But, here another copy of the error for your reference.
I also get this error (red and yellow areas) when launching You Tube:
    Sooooooooooo...  To summarize...
I've performed the clean install including using Adobe's special uninstall utility and carefully hunting down and erasing all of the litter Flash Player leaves behind even after it's uninstalled.
The error messages shown above are the headaches I still have.
If all else fails, we can go low-tech and CALL ME.
    Thank you,

  • Bally Chohan : - How install flash plugins in opera browser?

I am trying to install flash plugin in opera browser for videos, but it is showing unexpected error 312. What should I do now?

Not too sure there's a way to turn flash off temporarily. You
will have to uninstall it and then reinstall it when you want it
    again.

  • Attempting to INSTALL Flash Player 17, on WIndows 7, Firefox 36.0.1-why did I never used to have a problem?

I am using Windows 7, Firefox 36.0.1, and attempting to INSTALL Flash Player 17. I never had problems until about a year ago, the way the installation & set up was so easy...now, I fight with it for days every month when a new update is ready. There used to be 2-3 easy steps to follow; now I click to download, watch the diagram until it finishes, find the icon on my desktop, and click it again (presumbly to download & install), and it disappears. I do not know where or how to see it; a few minutes later I go to my Firefox Plug in Check page...and it shows that it still is not update! So I go through the whole friggan process again...WHY????

    Hello,
    Please do the following:
Download the uninstaller, Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
Download the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page in the 'Still having problems' section
    Run the uninstaller
    Reboot your system
    Run the installer
After installation completes, go to Flash Player Help and click on the 'Check Now' button.  The results should indicate that you have the latest version, 17.0.0.134, installed.

I just finished downloading and attempting the install of ios 7 on my iPhone 5.  I'm using the newest version of iTunes.
And now, I'm stuck at the screen with the iTunes logo and the plug.  But no matter how many times I try, recovery mode will not work.  My phone is currently useless unless I can figure this out.

    No problem, glad to help!
Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine.

  • How do I prevent Adobe Website attempt to install Flash Player which freezes Windows e-mail browser.

For past several days, my Windows e-mail browser frequently freezes and must be closed. This occurs whenever message near top of browser states that Adobe website wants to install Adobe Flashplayer. Windows explanation states that termination is a result of Data Execution Prevention (DEP). How do I stop Adobe Website attempts to install Flash Player, or if that is not possible, what is a solution? I have uninstalled Flash Player in an attempt to resolve problem without success.

You can find a link and instructions for the last version of Flash Player compatible with PowerPC in this FAQ:
What version of Flash Player should I use with my Power PC based Mac?
For what it's worth, Apple itself discontinued support for PowerPC with their operating systems back in 2009 with the release of Snow Leopard.  Regardless, I know its frustrating when your system is no longer supported.  Hopefully the instructions I posted in the FAQ allow you to get Flash content running again.
