Attempting to migrate service from T1 to Opt-E-Man service with 2811 router

First - While my cisco experience is limited I'm attempting to learn. I becamse the default Cisco guy at our shop and while I do ok with the switches routers give me an issue. Any help for a newbie that's trying is greatly appreciated!!
We recently upgraded one of our remote facilities from their T1 line to bring them into our already existent ATT Opt-e-man service. I'm trying to get some assistance configuring the 2811 router at the remote location to flow the traffic across the opteman. I attempted to compare the port settings from one of our remote locations that's arleady on opteman to the port I"m trying to configure on the 2811, but since I'm comparing a 2960 switch to the 2811 there are some glaring differences and difficulties. Here's what I got, what I think I need to do, and where I"m failing will be conspicuously obvious
Remote site 1 - 2811. Trying to configure for opteman service
Remote site 2 - 2960. Already configured for Opteman, and using as a point of reference for configuration
(IP Address changed to protect the innocent)
Remote site 1 fa0/1 port config (for opteman):
interface FastEthernet0/1
ip address 10.10.10.106 255.255.255.252
ip pim sparse-dense-mode
duplex full
speed 10
end
Remote site 1 s0/3/0 config  (for current t1)
description T1 to MAIN
ip address 10.10.10. 255.255.255.252
ip pim sparse-dense-mode
encapsulation ppp
service-module t1 timeslots 1-24
service-policy output WAN
end
Remote site 1 desired configuration:
description UPLINK TO MAIN
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport trunk allowed vlan 76
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
srr-queue bandwidth share 10 10 60 20
srr-queue bandwidth shape 10 0 0 0
priority-queue out
mls qos trust cos
auto qos voip trust
spanning-tree guard root
Remote site 2 configuraiton is the same as remote site 1 desired configuration except the allowed vlan is 84 instead of 76:
interface FastEthernet0/1
description UPLINK TO MAIN
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport trunk allowed vlan 84
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
srr-queue bandwidth share 10 10 60 20
srr-queue bandwidth shape 10 0 0 0
priority-queue out
mls qos trust cos
auto qos voip trust
spanning-tree guard root
Unfortunately I"m missing the switchport command because I"m working on the router. I can't even get the encapsulation to work on the port. Is what I"m attempting to do even possible or do I just need to quit and call in a Cisco engineer for configuration assistance? I'd rather not and get the pride from learning the right way to do it.
Thanks again in advance!
THanks
Dustin
P.S. My first post to cisco forums. Apologies if I'm in the wrong thread.

Hello Dustin,
from the show output that you have provided I understand that both remote sites use the RIP protocol as dynamic routing protocol.
If so all you need to check is that the IP subnet of new service is covered by network command under router rip process.
a)
Example:
if the router configuration for RiP is
router rip
version 2
network 10.0.0.0
and the IP subnet of new service is within 10/8 block the router configuration is fine and it will send and receive RIP updates on the new link.
you can check with
show run | begin router rip
b)
>> ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.255.105 222
This is a floating static route to be changed in
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.105 222
This route is used only when RIP is not working. The primary default route should be a RIP route you can check with
show ip route 0.0.0.0
c)
>> service-module ip default-gateway 10.10.250.254
>>ip route 10.10.250.250 255.255.255.255 Service-Engine0/0
no change is needed for these two lines  as they refer to a service module present in the router.
Hope to help
Giuseppe

It's quite possible, since you are using an MBA without Firewire, that it could take that long.
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate.  Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
    >Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    >Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    >System Preference add-ons
    >All Unsanity Haxies
    >Browser and other plug-ins
    >Contextual Menu Items
    >Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    >Kernel extensions
    >Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard.  The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.  Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs.   The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode.  It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data.  This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the  Discussions where specific applications store their data.

  • HT2518 After using Migrate Assistant, I made several accounts for every attempt to migrate files from PC to Mac. How can I put all accounts together into one? How can I transfer the files from the other accounts to my primary account?

Okay, so I did the entire Migrate Assistant process to transfer all my files and what not to my MacBook. Problem is that I did it on seperate occasions and now I have several accounts.
How can I transfer my files from the other accounts to my primary account and delete the other accounts?

Problem is that I did it on seperate occasions and now I have several accounts.
If you had read carefully, Migration Assistant asks what you want to do in this event. That would have precluded the redundancy.
Part of the fundamental design of OS X is to separate user accounts so that one user can't interfere with another. It's not possible to directly merge an account with another, but you can copy whatever you need to the Shared folder - it is in your Users folder.
Log in to one account, prefereably a smaller one, and drag the files and folders into Shared. Log out, log into the account you want to be "primary" and drag the files from Shared into their appropriate locations. When you have copied everything you need delete the redundant account.
Do this for each of them.
Or, you can just run Migration Assistant again and follow the prompts that address the situation you described. It involves creating a secondary, temporary account from which you can administer the transfer. When it is complete you delete the temporary account(s).

  • Attempting to migrate iCal from 10.5.8 to 10.6.7

So I managed to migrate mail, ldap, & the wiki pretty easily ... but ical just isn't taking.
When I put the 10.5 ical data from /Library/Calendarserver/Documents on the new 10.6 server, I get tons of errors about: "No principal found for UID: xxxx". the support boards indicate this is a problem with ldap - specifically that the uuid's have changed. however, mine have not. the uuid's caldavd complains about do exist and are assigned to the same users they were in the 10.5.8 directory
Another problem I've had and have seen discussed on the boards is that 10.6 "changed" (reads broke) how group calendars used to work (when hacked). I don't think this will be a show-stopper for me since the hacky way group calendars worked in 10.5 I don't think worked for us so we just have 1 individual user & 1 individual group account each that we delegate access to their calendar and that becomes our shared calendar solution. I think the 1 group calendar we have (not sure how we created it - it predates me) will be a problem - since I can't find a way to make 10.6 recognize it under the same uuid for that group. But I suppose as long as I could manually create a user with the same uuid as the group I might be able to make it so my users don't have to change their client configurations to point to new urls.
Also, despite all the no principal for uid errors, when I try to access the old group shared calendar's URL I get this:
There was an unexpected error with the request (domain CalDAVErrorDomain / error 5 / description 'The server has not specified a calendar home for the account at "/principals/_uids_/83E1F1D4-9D2F-4515-BBA3-04BB39F3A8BB/ -- https://<servername>:8443/".'). Meanwhile the path does exist (albeit in 10.6's new directory hierarchy /_uids_/83/E1/83E1F1D4-9D2F-4515-BBA3-04BB39F3A8BB)

  • Help needed-white screen of death while attempting to migrated files from imac to macbook

Using the migration program on my macbook (about a month old), I rebooted my imac (about a year old) while pressing down the 't' key.  Instead of rebooting and bringing up the firewire symbol, I got the white screen of death.  Thankfully, I have gotten the imac working again (except I can't get it to recognize my wireless mouse)…but am afraid to try the migration app again for fear of having the same problem and doing irreperable damage......any suggestions for what went wrong the first time and what I should do differently?  Also, any ideas on how to get it to recongize my mouse? It has recongized my keyboard with no issue.

    Download at www.memtestosx.org
Power on your MBP while holding down the Command and S keys to force Mac OS X to boot into Single User Mode. Once you see a black screen with white text, you can release the key combination. After all the system logging is done scrolling past, type 'memtest all 2' (without the quotes) to test all memory two times. Two passes should be enough to detect any blatant problems, but I wouldn’t hesitate to let it run for hours on end if I suspected an intermittent memory problem (memtest all). When complete, you should be greeted with “All tests passed” if your RAM is in good condition. If your system locks up or freezes indefinitely during the test, you may have a bad memory module on your hands.

  • My new MacBook Air locked up during my first attempt to migrate information from my old PC

I began the set up process for my new MacBook Air (2014).  I got as far as the Migration Assistant.  At first, my old PC (6 year old HP with Windows Vista) seemed to be communicating with my MacBook and transferring data.  There was a lot of time remaining on the countdown to completion of the transfer, so I went to bed while the computers kept migrating data.  I woke up, and the migration connection was lost.  My MacBook screen is saying it is "transferring data to the Mac"- but the screen is the same, and the connection has obviously been lost.  It seems to be locked up.  I cannot get out of the screen to do anything!  I would rather start the set up process all over without migrating any data at this point, and just start using my new MacBook.  Help!  How do I turn off the whole MacBook and start again?

Never mind!  I realized that I needed to hold the power button down for longer than I thought to get the laptop to turn off.  I turned it off, then back on, and was able to begin the process all over and am now up and running!  Hoorah!

  • Migrating data from secondary drive

    Hello,
I am attempting to migrate files from my G4 450 running 10.3.9 to a brand new iMac running Leopard. I have no problem migrating the bulk of user accounts and applications. But the majority of my video files, photos, music and other files are on a second 250 GB drive that I installed on the G4.
I cannot get the secondary drive to mount on the iMac. When I connect them over Firewire and restart the G4 holding down the T the primary (30 GB) drive mounts just fine but not the secondary. I tried networking the Macs but as I have about 95 GB worth of files to migrate it will take days to migrate at Ethernet speeds.
    Any advice is welcome.

Hi, I already put a question onto the "Mac OSX v10.5 Leopard>Installation & Setup" area, but your reply seems to fit the bill for me. The only problem is that I do not yet have the iMac and I do not understand some of your answer. What is 'T Mode'? Is there a 'proper (or best)' way to transfer the data and settings? Is there a role for the '.MacSync' process in all of this? Do I need to use 'Target Disk Mode' and,if so, how?
My original question is: "I am about to buy a new iMac with OSX 10.5 Leopard and would like to know the best way to transfer all of my data and settings from my G4 (with OSX10.4.10) to the new iMac without transferring all of the 'clutter' that has undoubtedly built up on my current internal hard drive and external hard drive (latter contains my iTunes and iPhoto libraries) over the last 10 years. I am aware that I can use 'Target Disk Mode' to connect both computers (described in David Pogue's excellent 'Missing Manual'), and that I can synchronise some information using '.MacSync'. I would be grateful for advice on the best procedure to complete the job quickly and efficiently so that I can then dispose of my current machine."

    Hello imovedtomac,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mountain Lion and earlier
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4889
If you experience issues migrating using an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection
Try migrating by using Internet Sharing from your source computer.
Set up a home connection from your source computer.
Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu, then Sharing from the View menu.
    Select Internet Sharing.
Select a network service from the “Share your connection from” menu. Do not choose Wi-Fi for this step.
Note: You can use built-in FireWire or ThunderBolt for example.  You do not need to be connected to the Internet to transmit data for data migration.
Select Wi-Fi to share your Internet connection from the “To computers using” list.
Click Wi-Fi Options and give your network a name and password.
On your target computer, connect to the Wi-Fi network you created.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Migrating Services From External ITS to Internal ITS

    Hi All,
We are migrating from External ITS 2.0 (SAP R/3 4.6B) to Internal ITS 6.0 (SAP ECC 6). Can anyone tell me on how to migrate services which are there in External ITS to Internal ITS, so that the same External ITS services are visible in SICF or SE80 Transaction.
    Thanks and Regards In Advance,
    Sidhartha Chatterjee

    Hi Sidhartha,
As Klaus recommend, you should start with help.sap.com.
I would also suggest doing a search in this forum, for similar threads like your. There are many of them, with good links and tips.
I think a very good practical start to understanding the internal ITS is to read Durairaj Raja's excellent webblog, "Running your first ITS WebGUI application in SAP Netweaver 04 ABAP Edition", /people/durairaj.athavanraja/blog/2005/08/21/running-your-first-its-webgui-application-in-sap-netweaver-04-abap-edition--nsp

    Hello,
without administrative access you can not migrate anything. So find the administrator that is responsible for the server and talk to him first.

  • How to migrate users from HUB to Shared Services

    Hi,
We are upgrading Essbase from 7.1.6 to 9.3.1. In 7.1.6 we were using Hyperion HUB for provisioning and we are going to use Shared Services with External authentication for the provsioning from now on.
My question is what is the best way of migrating users from Hyperion HUB to Shared Services.
    Thanks,
    MP

After you copy the SQL Repository across to the new environment and log in with the owner account, you will be required to register the application with Shared Services. After registering with SS it should prompt you to "Migrate Users and Groups" which will do the migration for you.

I just finished migrating a client from Google Apps to Microsoft Exchange Online using the IMAP option in the Microsoft Online Services Migration Tool.
I added the mailboxes by creating a CSV file [i.e. GoogleApps(Gmail)_Mailboxes.csv] in the following format:
    SourceIdentity,SourceServer,SourceLoginID,SourcePassword,TargetIdentity

Additionally, I had to tell the Internet E-mail Mailbox Migration Wizard to use the "Individual Account Credentials" option since I was able to specify each account password in the CSV file when adding the mailboxes to Microsoft Online Services Migration
    Tools console.
Just to note, the users had to manually export their contacts to a CSV file and calendars to iCal (ICS) files in order to import those items into Outlook.
I hope this will benefit others since Microsoft doesn't seem to have a custom, specifically defined migration strategy for this scenario.  With Google Apps being in direct competition with BPOS/Office365, I assumed that Microsoft would have a simple
strategy using something like ActiveSync to facilitate the migration of email, contacts, calendar entries, etc.  Hopefully we'll see something along those lines become available in a future release of the migration tools.

  • Migration adapters from OAI 4.1.3 to 9i

    Hello,
I am helping a customer who is in the process of upgrading an OAI 4.1.3 hub to 9.0.4 (they're actually going to 10.x, but there is no direct path from 4.1.3 to 10.x). The customer has one or more custom adapters that will need to be migated in the process. When they attempt to start these adapters on there 9.0.4 hub and they get the following errors in the adapter log files.
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.util.Vector: method
    add(Ljava/lang/Object;)Z not found
    at oracle.oai.agent.proxy.AgentProxy.getDBConnectionInfo(Compiled Code)
    at oracle.oai.agent.proxy.AgentProxy.initialize(AgentProxy.java:255)
    at oracle.oai.agent.proxy.AgentProxy.<init>(AgentProxy.java:385)
    at oracle.oai.agent.service.AgentService.run(AgentService.java:41)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:459)
Is this due to changes in the adapter sdk's between 4.1.3 and 9.0.4? If so, is anyone aware of a document that describes migrating adapters from the 4.1.3 sdk to the 9.0.4 sdk?
    TIA,
    Cliff

  • Problems migrating accounts from tiger to leopard

I have been attempting to migrate my company's open directory from tiger server over to leopard. the method i have taken to do this is to use ldapsearch to retrieve the ldif from the old directory. and ldapadd to add it to the new directory. Before importing into the new, i went thru and replaced the authAuthority strings in the ldif with the key from the new server via "mkpassdb -key" the accounts appear in WGM, however if i browse to an account i only see "Basic", "Privileges", and "Advanced" as options. I can however get all the tabs to show up if i kill WGM, relaunch it, and look at an account. but after i look at one, they all revert to showing me only the 3 tabs. I have one account that existed in the new directory before the import and it behaves as normal.
since the import i have also noticed alot of this in the logs:
    Feb 11 16:14:41 finder slapd[40]: <= bdbsubstringcandidates: (authAuthority) index_param failed (18)
    Feb 11 16:15:20 finder slapd[40]: <= bdbsubstringcandidates: (authAuthority) index_param failed (18)
    Feb 11 16:15:50 finder slapd[40]: <= bdbsubstringcandidates: (authAuthority) index_param failed (18)

    Hi
Archive the LDAP Database, do the upgrade/install to Leopard. Make sure your DNS config is the same as it was when the server was 10.4.11. Spend time on this and test this thoroughly. In fact don’t start any other service until you have this as it should be. Promote to OD Master, use the same details for the Directory Administrator (diradmin) account that you used before and restore the LDAP Database. All Users, Groups, Computer Lists, MCX and passwords should be retained.
The manual is correct in saying that Users passwords are not retained when exporting from WGM. However it should not be a problem (if the first method does not work) to select all relevant users and define a policy forcing users to change their passwords next time they login. Saves you the finger work. You could also inform your users what you wish them to use or the form the passwords should take.
    Hope this helps, Tony
