Attendant/Operator Console: Extension Out of Service

We have an issue with the operator console giving an error, regardless of the user or extension, saying that the extension is out of service.  We've rebooted the phone, rebooted the server the attendant console runs on and browsed through the settings and can't find anything apparent on why it is doing this.  Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

The issue I had was with the password in the TSP configuration. Go to the control panel in CUEAC and phone and modems. Next click on the trace file and select all traces. Check call manager to make sure that the CTI port and CTI ports are showing up as unknown. Then back on CUEAC run the CUCM sync. Once this is done go to C:\TEMP and look for the last log with date and timestamp. This log will reveal if you are using an incorrect username or password. That was my issue and why I got the OUT OF SERVICE message when I tried to log into the attendant console. I did uninstall the Cisco wave driver, then removed the Cisco TSP then I restarted the server. Next I reinstalled the TSP and configured the TSP. Last I installed the wave driver. My problem is resolved. I hope you have luck in getting your issue resolved. Good Luck

    The most common cause of this was the agent's phone restarted or a CTI interruption occured. This is typically something to start troubleshooting on UCM side. The CAD Troubleshooting Guide says essentially the same thing:
    Problem The agent’s state changed to Not Ready for no apparent reason.
    Symptom. In some situations, an agent’s state may change to Not
    Ready for no apparent reason.
    Cause. To determine the reason, check the reason code:

    ■ If the reason code is 32759, the agent’s state became Not Ready
    because the phone went out of service. Check to make sure the
    phone is still functional and that you can call the phone directly. If
    everything seems fine, it is most likely a temporary problem and the
    phone has since recovered. If the phone is still down, it is most
    likely a Unified CM problem. Please consult Unified CM support.
    Solution In many cases, an agent’s state becoming Not Ready is not a serious
    issue. Simply click Ready to change the agent’s state to Ready.

  • IPCC "The agent extension is out of service"

    We are using IPCC 4.0(3)_Build080, we have setup a new user in the system like everyone else. When this user tries to go into a ready state in the agent desktop he gets the following error:
    13:16:20 Cannot go to the ready state while the phone is out of service. Other state changes are possible.

    Hi guys,
    Solution, for us, was to delete the phone from CUCM, and recreate it.
    This process took less than 1 minute…
    I located the device (phone) in CUCM by MAC address and deleted it.
    All  of our Service Desk phones are identical in config (they are setup for  Extension Mobility to allow for desk sharing) - so I simply "super-copied"  another SDA phone using the problematic phone's MAC, and changed the description.
    Next I associated  the 'newly created' device with the RMCM application user (User  Management > Application User > < whatever username you gave  for  your UCCX RMCM username>).
    Once the new "old" device had  registered, Joe Bloggs logged in with his extension mobility login,  logged into CAD, and was able to go 'Ready'.
    Solved.
    Information/background and initial troubleshooting:
    We are on...
    CUCM 8.0.2.40000-1
    UCCX 8.0.2.11004-12
    CAD 8.0.2.400 (says 8.0(2) at startup, the 'about' shows 8.0.2.400)
    We had the issue this morning where Joe Bloggs (SDA) was able to login to his phone (extension mobility), login to CAD (Cisco Agent Desktop), but could not go ‘Ready’ state.
    He was being presented the following error:
         07:20:29  Resource's Device is Off.
         07:20:29  The agent extension is out of service.
         Ready state change and call control operations cannot be performed.
    I logged into his device (phone) as myself and then logged into CAD. I was presented with the same error when attempting to go 'Ready'.
    Other SDA’s with the same device (phone) and device profile (extension mobility) config did not have any trouble on their phones – so appeared to have been a phone issue - or at least an issue between CUCM and the device.
    I had Joe Bloggs perform the factory default reset (unplug network cable, holding # - plug back in network cable, when line buttons flashed in sequence type 123456789*0#) – after reset, tested again, made no difference - the error persisted.
    Next, I disassociated Joe Bloggs from the DN (Directory Number/Extension) and then disassociated both the device and the device profile (ext. mobility) from RMCM ‘Application User’, saved – then re-associated – made no difference, the problem continued.
    Not sure why it happened - appears as though maybe the record of this particular device had become corrupt in CUCM somehow.
    Hope this helps someone else - as it was a lot quicker (for our setup) than disassociating user extensions and devices, etc.
    Cheers,
    Brett

    In order to find the PerformanceMonitor web app, the ConsoleExt needs to
    examine your classpath to get the appropriate WLHOME. It does this by
    searching for .../server/lib/weblogic.jar. Please make sure your CLASSPATH
    is correct and matches where PerformanceMonitor is installed. For example,
    the path to .../server/lib/weblogic.jar is the same as to ../common/perf. In
    my world, they both happen to be d:\bea\weblogic81.

  • Using credentials of a logged in user with JMX (Admin console extension)

    Hello,
    I would appreciate any info regarding creation of a connection to the DomainRuntimeService MBean server in an administration console extension in BEA Weblogic 9.2.
    The problem is that if I provide no security credentials, I'm not able to invoke any operations on the MBean server. Also the possibility of providing "default" user credentials within the extension "configuration" used to authenticate is not an option.
    The most convenient way would be to use the same mechanisms used by the rest of the administration console, but there seems to be very little information around about where to retrieve the username/password used to log in to the console.
    Thank you very much in advance, If you didn't understand my question, please ask for more information since English is not my native tongue.

    Hi,
    Check the following wiki content submitted by Michael Nicholls:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/display/snippets/excel%252bspreadsheet%252bof%252bume%252bassignment%252bdata
    The code for getting groups for your case (current logged in user) should be like:-
    IWDClientUser clientUser = WDClientUser.getLoggedInClientUser();
    IUser user1 = clientUser.getSAPUser();
    Iterator groups = user1.getParentGroups(false);
    while (groups.hasNext()) {
    IGroup group = groupFact.getGroup(groups.next().toString());
    String groupname = group.getDisplayName();
    Add this group name to a list
    I do not have NWDS access at the moment so haven't checked it myself... you may try it out.

  • CIPC not showing on operator console

    Hi,
    We have a strange issue which is doing my head in.
    CUCM Version 9.1.2-10000-28
    Arc Console Operator  5.1.4.1996
    When some users are using CIPC softphones they do not appear to listed as available in the Operator Console, however some users who use CIPC softphones are appearing available in the Operator Console. I've narrowed it down to a CIPC related problem I believe because I asked them to login to a physical phone (we use EM) and seen that a user previously not available in the Console suddenly became available. So I've tried the following:
    1) Restart of CTI Manager service on the CUCM where the Arc CTI related ports are registered to. This resolved an issue with users not appearing available in the Console before, but doesn't resolve this issue
    2) Checked that the CIPC device association is in place on the End User, though it doesn't seem to matter as I have identified CIPC users who are displayed as available without this association in place.
    3) Checked that Allow Control of CTI is enabled in all places (the line DN, the End user, the CIPC)
    4) Compared a few CIPC configurations and couldn't see any noticeable difference between them.
    5) Checked the user details in the Arc Console Operator program and the user is set up for BLF and has the correct device name associated under their contact details. Again, don't believe that the device name association is necessary either.
    At first I thought the reason for this was down to some of the users being logged into their physical phones, thus showing up in the console as registered, but the customer said they created two new users with CIPC only. One I have identified is available in the console and the other one is not showing as available. Judging by the dependency records, there does not appear to be any associations with other phones.
    Has anyone had this problem before and does anybody have any suggestions as to how I resolve it?
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Cheers

    Hi,
    I don't have any problems using CIPC at all. The problem is that from the Arc Operator Console they are not showing up as available, so let's just say an inbound call comes into the receptionist and the receptionist wants to transfer the call. Because the user is not showing up as available from the perspective of the Console, the receptionist cannot transfer that call to the user. The CIPC devices are registered to CUCM, but there are those who are present in the Operator Console database who are not showing as available and there are those who are in the Operator Console database who are showing up as available.
    Admittedly the CIPC are not set up using EM for the reason that we didn't want the users going through the extra hassle of logging in and out of the CIPC, but that's a step we can take. It doesn't explain why some are showing up from the Console and other's don't though.
    My gut feeling is it's not CUCM, but any other checks that can be suggested would be appreciated.

  • Trouble with console-extension using struts portlet

    hello everyone,
    I'm developing a console-extension for wls9.2 but couldn't get is to work despite all the documentation available. The console-ext is a struts portlet which gathers data from custom mbeans via jmx and renders the result with a jsp. What already works is fetching the data from the MBeans in the struts action. What does not work is the display of the results in the admin console. So I removed all the stuff from the jsp to just display "Hello World" which should be displayed on the desktop in the admin console, but even this didn't work (it's just a blank spot). Having a look at the log file I get the following:
    e.netui.pageflow.internal.AdapterManager ERROR ServletContainerAdapter manager not initialized correctly.
    e.netui.pageflow.internal.AdapterManager INFO No ServletContainerAdapter specified or discovered; using class org.apache.beehive.netui.pageflow.DefaultServletContainerAdapter
    tui.util.config.parser.NetUIConfigParser INFO NetUIConfigParser -- load config: /WEB-INF/beehive-netui-config.xml
    e.netui.pageflow.internal.AdapterManager INFO No ServletContainerAdapter specified or discovered; using class org.apache.beehive.netui.pageflow.DefaultServletContainerAdapter
    netui.pageflow.AutoRegisterActionServlet INFO Dynamically registering module /loggingController, config XML /WEB-INF/struts-auto-config-loggingController.xml
    netui.pageflow.AutoRegisterActionServlet INFO Dynamically registering module /loggingController, config XML /WEB-INF/struts-auto-config-loggingController.xml
    (...other debug output from my struts action...)
    .wls.web.actions.LoggingControllerAction DEBUG Going to /ext_jsp/helloWorld.jsp using module null
    flow.scoping.internal.ScopedResponseImpl INFO ScopedResponse error 404:
    .netui.pageflow.PageFlowRequestProcessor WARN Struts module is configured to use com.bea.console.internal.ConsolePageFlowRequestProcessor as the request processor, but the <controller> element does not contain a <set-property> for "controllerClass". Page Flow actions in this module may not be handled correctly.
    .netui.pageflow.PageFlowRequestProcessor INFO Attempting to instantiate SharedFlowControllers for request /console/ChangeManagerAction.do
    ive.netui.pageflow.FlowControllerFactory INFO No Global.app was found in /console
    Despite the errors it seems to find my struts config (struts-auto-config-loggingController.xm) and execute the action, but then it seems to have trouble findingd/displaying the jsp (helloWorld.jsp). I tried to set various controller-elements in the struts config, like this ([url http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs92/portals/integrate.html#wp1005659]source):
    <controller inputForward="true" processorClass="com.bea.struts.adapter.action.AdapterRequestProcessor" />
    but this didn't work either (and results in other errors). The log from above was created with a config without any controller element (since this is never mentioned in the eDocs for console extensions).
    Despite spending several hours trying to figure out what goes wrong here I wasn't able to get one step closer to a solution. Does anyone have a clue what I did wrong (please ask if you need further information)? Thanks a lot!
    Btw. Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I could't find another one which matches better. Feel free to move the topic to a more appropriate place. thx.
    ====================================
    Struts config:
    <struts-config>
         <form-beans>
              <form-bean name="loggingForm" type="...web.forms.LoggingControllerForm" />
         </form-beans>
         <action-mappings>
              <action path="/LoggingControllerAction"
                   type="...web.actions.LoggingControllerAction"
                   name="loggingForm"
                   scope="request"
                   validate="false"
                   input="/ext_jsp/helloWorld.jsp">
                   <forward name="success" contextRelative="true"
                        path="/ext_jsp/helloWorld.jsp" />
              </action>
         </action-mappings>
    </struts-config>

    The problem could be solved by adding the "handle" property (of type com.bea.console.handles.Handle) to the form bean.
    This is stated on page 7-4 in the "Extending the admin console" guide or [url http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/console_ext/simpleext.html#wp1083856]here
    In addition the following controller element must be used in the struts config: <controller inputForward="true" processorClass="com.bea.struts.adapter.action.AdapterRequestProcessor" />
    This is not mentioned anywhere and should definitely be added to the guide.
    Hope this helps someone encountering the same problem.

  • Console Extension Custom View development

    Hi,
    I am trying to get started on developing a SCCM 2012 SP1 Console Extension (Custom View) for a removable media security solution.
    My goal is to mimic the "Assets and Compliance"->"Endpoint Protection"->"Antimalware Policies".
    I have created the XML so that a tree-node displays correctly under the "Endpoint Protection" parent node by following "How to Create Node XML for a Configuration Manager
    Console Grid View" (yep, that is the easy part :-) ).
    Where I need some help is creating the corresponding assembly dll.  I thought following the SDK documentation "How to Create a Configuration Manager Console Custom View" would
    be a great start and thought there might be a related sample in the SDK but this page leaves me with the following questions (I hope someone can answer):
    1.  What Configuration Manager reference assembly contains IConsoleView2?
         I have added Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider as a reference assembly and added a using (C#) for every namespace in the assembly but IConsoleView2 still does not resolve.
    2.  The documentation is saying to subclass OverviewControllerBase but I can find no documentation on what this class is.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tony
    Anthony LaMark

    Hi Alfonso,
    I did eventually release the console extension (see screen shot at the bottom of the page
    here).
    It has been a while since I worked on this code but as I remember, once I got the references straightened out (see this thread), a lot of the confusion I had was just understanding that some of the programming that had to be done was in WPF (not WinForm).
     The sample code from Microsoft does work though.
    I never was able to figure out how to tie the "tree node menu item" functionality into the Ribbon (at the top of the SCCM console) so that is still on my TODO list.
    So, my advice to you is to start with the Microsoft example code (which I did) from the SCCM SDK and if you get compile time errors, look first for the SCCM assembly references (Microsoft.[ConfigurationManagement, ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider,
    EnterpriseManagement.UI.Foundation, EnterpriseManagement.UI.WpfViews) and then at the WPF assembly references (PresentationCore, PresentationFramework) for missing class references.
    I hope this information can help you.  Good luck sir!

  • UCCX 8 VOIP Monitor Subsystem - Out of Service

    All,
    Upgraded CCX 701(SR5) to CCX 8.0.2 Premium HA enabled. Both Servers were IN SERVICE. Did a Patch upgrade to UCCX 8.0.2SU1. Noticed that VOIP Monitor Subsystem on both servers showing as OUT OF SERVICE. Downgraded to CCX 8.0.2, still get this Subsystem OUT OF SERVICE.
    From RTMT, it shows the following error:
    %MIVR-SS_VOIPMON_SRV-3-VOIP_OPERATION_ERROR:VOIP Subsystem Operation Error: Module Name=LRMConnection.readMSG, A specific description for a trace=erroris: ,Exception=java.io.EOFException
    Anyone kows how to fix this problem???
    Thanks.

    Hi all,
    I had this same problem and similar/same versions.
    Restarting Cisco DESKTOP VoIP Monitor Service (on sub - which had VoIP Monitor Service showing 'OOS') made no impact. I don't think there is any real relationship between DESKTOP VoIP monitor service and VoIP monitor service?
    Anyway, restarted the same service on Pub - no change.
    Tried restarting various sub services including CCX Engine - no change.
    I found I had to restart publisher Cisco Unified CCX Engine, then go to sub and do the same once pub was back to all 'in service'.
    I then found that my sub's 'Log Manager' under 'Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability' had gone to PARTIAL SERVICE.
    I restarted 'Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability' on sub - which had to be done via CLI.
    It appeared to restart no issue - but refreshing the list of services in the GUI several times - it still was in PARTIAL.
    Restarted Sub appliance (bounced the server) from CLI, after reboot - all services were back up and IN SERVICE.
    Thankfully I didn't have to restart my Pub - all services... IN SERVICE on pub & sub
    Resolved.
    PS. No calls were dropped for us.

  • Capturing weblogic username and password for use in my console extension

    Hi,
    I have developed a console extension as a war file and it needs to capture the Weblogic username and password so internally it can use the class MBeanServerConnection that needs these during connection. I have therefore created the standard <login-config> <auth-method>FORM</auth-method> ... stuff in the web.xml to output a logon.jsp when my war is accessed in the hope of capturing username and password. My intention is that these would appear in addition to the standard logon that appears when the Weblogic console is 1st accessed.
    However, my console extension logon.jsp does not appear and I think it’s because there is only one logon needed and this is when the main Weblogic console is accessed because my console extension is subordinate to the main Weblogic console.
    Therefore, how can I get my console extension logon.jsp to appear so I can capture the Weblogic username and password?
    Thanks,
    Dave.

    One approach that might work is to write a look and feel console extension that modifies the console's login jsp (vs trying to have a second login jsp).
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/e13745/rebrand.htm#i1070459 describes how to write look and feel extensions.
    Basically, you instantiate the look and feel extension template, hand-edit login/LoginForm.jsp, then build and deploy the extension.
    One tricky part is figuring out how to pre-compile the jsps. Here's part of a build script I've used for look and feel extensions. Let me know if you need a sample look and feel extension.

  • OSB & WLST: changing operational settings for a proxy service via WLST

    Hi all,
    we are trying to change the operational settings for a proxy service via WLST.
    In details we would like to change the "Logs" level (Monitoring section).
    We have a lot of deployed services and our 'deployer people' need an automatic way (via WLST for example) for doing that instead of using the OSB console.
    Thanks in advance
    ferp

    Hi,
    OSB is the Oracle Service Bus. Oracle Service Bus is a configuration-based, policy-driven enterprise service bus.
    The OSB is deployed into an Oracle WebLogic Server instance.
    OSB uses also WLST functionality provided by WebLogic Server.
    Best regards
    ferp

  • Perfomance Monitor Console Extension (PMCE) on WebLogic 8.1 SP3

    Is it possible to run PMCE on WebLogic 8.1 SP3?
    I downloaded PMCE from bea and used the installer to install the administrative console extension and an agent on my own machine. I 'm also running a WebLogic server instance on this machine.
    When I go to the server's administrative console it has a new section for the performance monitor, but clicking on anything in that section doesn't work.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    In the server's log there are NullPointerExceptions and it says the servlet failed. The text of the error is:

    For anyone that is searching for the same problem. Bea customer support has confirmed that this is a bug in SP3. SP4 fixes the problem.
