Question

Can anyone tell me why I am getting this error? I booted up my computer this morning, and my speakers did not work. I don't have any sound thats comming out, and i tried loading up the mixer from Creative, and it says it's not there. I tried running the diagnostic tests, and it crashes on me restarting the comp. Can anyone tell me whats going on with it's Also tried system restore no help at all, and also when i shutdown it just restarts. Makes a beeping sound when theres supposed to be a Welcome from AOL, or a beeping sound when i get an instant message!!!!

The drivers for the Audigy SE seem to have been written specifically for Beta 2 and RC2 (I think) The older driver would not install on my copy of Beta 2 and the newer one wouldn't work on my RC copy. The only current work around is to download the Windows XP driver and install that (if your running 64bit Vista get the Windows Xp x64 driver) you will get several error messages during the install just ok them and tell the installer to?install it. Then restart your PC, just after the bios screen start tapping F8 on your keyboard, you will be taken to a windows boot up screen. One of the options is "Disable Driver Protection" scroll down to that and hit enter/return. You will once again have sound but you will have to do that every time you turn the PC on, personnally I've taken to using the 'Hibernate' function in Vista. It seems to be 00 times better than hibernate in XP and for me the power button shown on the start bar is a hibernate button anyway. No working driver at all for us SE owners until the 2nd quater of 2007, rereleasing the RC2 driver for RTM could have been one of the small things Creative could do to help us but no one seems to have thought of that.
