Full screen mode - Issue with Aperture freezing

Hi I have an issue with Aperture 3 freezing if I send an image to a plug-in or external editor while in full screen dual display mode. I have to exit full screen mode first and then send to photoshop/external plugin.
It is not a huge deal and a simple workaround but if I forget to do it Aperture will freeze and I will have to force quit the application.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

IME, both full-screen mode and dual-display mode have some rough edges. (I don't expect any improvements until OS 10.7, which is widely reported to include a full re-design of full-screen mode.)

I am having issues with tech support for King Games!   Why can't they support their game?

I have been having issues with Bubble Witch saga for over a week! Mather continue to give me the run around. Finally today, they have admitted that they are too busy with their other games to offer support! They ask me to continue to be patient ! Lol. Please, see below.     What is one to do when these app companies are not able to support their apps? Does Apple think this is good?

Thanks! I just think that Apple would have concern with App companies who are being offered through Apple! This may seem as though it isn't Apples issue but, in truth it is, to the extent that it looks bad on Apple. Apple, should expect companies that use their App Store to provide support for their product or not allow these companies to have apps in the Apple store! Believe it or not..... This is a reflection!
But, don't worry, I am trying to get them to support the game. At the very least my review will not be good and eventually I will stop playing as others have done!!!

Issues with Agents being logged out.

All the agents on aperticular PIM were logged out and could logback in after approx 7 minutes.Wheni check teh CTIOS logs now its full of the below error message

Can you please let me know if this is service affecting or its something critical ?

-We are seeing issues with agents trying to log in and getting timeout errors, taking 3-5 times to actually login/JTAPI errors. Supervisor application is having the same issues. We have full IP Visibility from all subnets. The CUCM/CCX servers were put in last August, and we had zero issue up until the past few weeks. Ive validated the agent settings, JTAPI users etc and Ive rebooted the UCCX server as well

This is getting extremely aggravating! ATTN: Apple Support.

This has been on the board many times, but there has yet been a reason why we haven't fixed it yet or how to fix it. Okay i downloaded the new update for iTunes and now it will not connect to the store. When I click the store link it wont load and the white background is there. This is getting me so angry. Anyone know what is going on? Its been like this for more than a day. I know that many other people here have been saying the same thing, but where are the solutions? I would be extremely grateful for some answers.

Incompatible mode issue with 50" Vizio

I hope this is the right place for this question.
OK, I've been doing this stuff so long that when I encounter problems like this I worry I'm just missing the obvious.
I have been running my older Intel Mini (1.66 core duo) to my 50" Vizio plasma, via the DVI/VGA adapter, as part of my A/V system for over a year now, and it has worked absolutely flawlessly from the day I plugged it in. Beautiful image, everything perfect.
This past weekend I had a couple friends over and when I was out of the room one of them (the only one with a Mac of his own) switched resolutions, and the screen went black with a message saying "incompatible mode." He swore he didn't get the message about switching resolutions, etc, that you usually get when switching resolutions. I cannot now get any image to display. It was displaying a resolution of, I think, 1360 x 768 @60hz.
If I plug another monitor into the Mini it works fine. If I plug my MBP into the Vizio it works fine in either mirroring more or as dual displays. I have a second user on the Mini, and if I boot into that user the Vizio works fine. But no matter what I do I can no longer get an image to display on the Vizio in the main user profile, I just get the "incompatible mode" message.
When I boot into the main user I get the usual gray boot screen with the Apple logo, which then blips to a blue screen for about 10 seconds, which then goes black with the incompatible mode message generated by the Vizio. I have also tried booting into the second user (which as I noted works fine), then by using "fast user switching" going into the main user, but as soon as the image swings around the screen immediately goes black with the same old "incompatibe mode" message.
I was thinking maybe it was a preferences issue, but the only display preferences I can find are in the "Byhost" folder in the user preferences folder.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a way to cycle through resolutions blindly via the keyboard? Are there other preferences that I'm not finding? Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you modify the initialization string in the printer driver as mentioned in these docs? Did you bounce the CM after doing the necessary changes?

Has anyone else seen this and know what broke? Cursory investigation looks like a Perl version mismatch and somebody in build land at Apple didn't catch it?

The issue is that amavisd-new got updated to 2.6.4, whereas a stock install of 10.6 server had an older version of amavisd, amavisd-new 2.5.1

So what's happening now is that amavisd is attempting to load DKIM features.
So - since you haven't demonstrated any information about attempting to pursue this matter on your own, it's probably best to just disable it for now. Because it's something you weren't using previously, and so you probably aren't going to miss it for now.
Edit amavisd.conf (please don't use a GUI editor, go with nano or vi) and add:
$enabledkimverification = 0;
$enabledkimsigning = 0;
save the change and ensure the permissions are still good on your amavisd.conf file.
Stop mail services wait 30 seconds and start mail services again.

Anyone seeing horizontal-scroll-mode issues with Terminal.app?

It looks like the version supported locally of bash/readline are working for Terminal.app's default TERM=xterm-256color; however, when sshing to RedHat Enterprise Linux, something goes "sidewasy."
If I'm seeing things correctly, it looks like the default TERM of xterm-256color isn't well supported by... bash? readline? If I leave TERM as default (?) of xterm-256color, then the readline/inputrc config for `set horizontal-scroll-mode Off' is ignored, and I get the hated (by me) horizontal scrolling. If I:
export TERM=xterm-color
in the same session, changing nothing else, and then arrow back "up" into history, I get (my) preferred "vertical" scrolling of my long input command. Are others seeing this?
So, it really looks like earlier versions of bash (before 4.x?) and/or readline (before 6.x?) don't properly support xterm-256color as a valid TERM, and must fall down and assume that the terminal doesn't support things like.. uhh... horizontal-scroll-mode Off. Seems to be fixed by RHEL-6, but a problem in RHEL-4 and RHEL-6.
I'd originally, mistakenly assumed it was a bug in Terminal.app.
Again, this doesn't have to do with a Terminal.app session *local* to the Mac itself; but rather if you've ssh'd to a different operating system.

It is possible that the problem is in the terminfo terminal feature description file for xterm-256color on your Linux systems.
/usr/share/terminfo/x/xterm-256color
You can examine the contents of the Mac and the Linux xterm-256color terminfo files using:
From Mac:     infocmp xterm-256color >tmp.mac
From Linux:   infocmp xterm-256color >tmp.linux
...copy the files to the same system...
Compare:      gvimdiff tmp.mac tmp.linux     # or just use diff if your prefer
Actually you may be able to do the compare with infocmp, but I have not experimented with that, and I know how to do the above already, so I went with what I know :-)
You can modify the infocmp generated output, and then compile a new terminfo file using 'tic' (man tic). Then again for all I know, the binary format for a terminfo file is identical on Macs and Linux boxes, so you might be able to tranfer the Mac version to your Linux system(s).
You can use the TERMINFO environment variable to point to a different terminfo database. See 'man 5 terminfo' for more information.
Again, all of this assumes that maybe it is the terminfo term-256color file that is different between the 2 systems.

Multiple shocking issues with Windows Support

I just purchased a Mac Mini and immediately split my harddisk into 3 partitions:
1. 100GB as Mac OS Extended
2. 100GB as NTFS (for installing Windows 7)
3. 300GB as FAT32 (for sharing document and media files between 2 OSes)
1. Was shock to discover that Bootcamp cannot function once we split a harddisk into 2 or more partitions! Since my FAT32 partition is already filled with full data, I do not want to transfer 300GB out and back again, so I proceed to install Windows without Bootcamp. I do have WindowSupport drivers downloaded in thumbdrive to install after Windows installation is completed.
2. Was shock to discover that Mac Disk Utility formatted NTFS is not recognized by Windows and I have to reformat it to install Windows 7. Was no longer shock when I also realize that Mac Disk Utility formmatted FAT32 is not recognized by Windows as well. Must I transfer that 300GB of data out and reformat my 3rd partition under Windows again so that both OSes can see this partition???
3. Was shock to discover that my HDMI display is underscan in Windows. All the adjustment for the display is disabled for HDMI connect, so my full screen is much smaller in Windows than in MacOSX. Any solution to overcome this? I tried scan frequency of 50hz, 59hz and 60hz but the display size remain the same. It does not expand to 100%.
4. Was shock to discover that my WiFi that has near 100% signal under MacOSX was very weak in Windows. I checked the setting in Device Manager and it was already at 100% power. Any solution to improve this? I understand that Bluetooth, being on the same frequency of 2.4khz may interfere with the WiFi signal. How can I disable it under Windows without having to completely disable this in Device Manager? There is no bluetooth setup provided in the Control Panel.
5. Trackpad was not working under Windows at all. Do I need to install a separate driver or is it not supported in Windows at all?
Does Apple intentionally sabotage their own Windows drivers to give a flaw impression that MacOSX is superior over Windows??? I know Apple used to do this in the past such as intentionally provide the worst codec for AVI video to give a flaw impression that Quicktime video is superior to Windows Video, despite the fact that Windows Video has far superior codec (Intel Indeo) than Quicktime but was intentionally not supported on Mac.

I manage to find some solutions:
2. This is cause by the unsupported 5th primary partition that FAT32 partition is located. Some suggest removing the recovery partition so that the 5th partition become the supported 4th partition. Is there any better solution without having to remove the important recovery partition?

Sleeping mode issue with mountain lion

Hi,
I am using a MacbookPro with an external monitor. Since I've upgraded my OS system to Mountain Lion, whenever I close the lid, the Macbook is still running and doesn't enter into a sleeping mode like it used to do on SnowLeopard. Instead the external monitor will stay on and act as the main the monitor. Is there anyway this could be fixed?

This is because while you've re-installed the system, you've preserved the user account.You need to do a "clean" install meaning a reformat and install. If the Mac orginally shipped with Lion or ML you can redownload via Recovery Partition but if the Mac shipped with Leopard 10.5.x or Snow Leopard 10.6.x then you need the OEM discs that shipped with it. You can call Apple and they will send you the discs for a nominal charge.

i ve got some problems with ovi store. some apps which were bought while ago (they are showed in my content bookmark in phone ovi store), but when i try to redonload them it tells me that i must buy them again! i ve got all confirmation emails with numbers of my apps.
strangeness lies in the fact that all the apps which i try to redownload are newer versions than i had. but i repeat ALL this apps are showed in my content, and they were bought by me.

Oracle Reports(Character Mode) issue with 17 CPI ---URGENT

Hi,
I am in-process of Character Mode report development for Purchase order. Report is working perfectly with Font Courier and 10CPI. Now Client wants report with 17 CPI; when I changed the setup at printer level to 17CPI; my report content got shrink-ed to 50%. I tried to change the main section width in report builder from 80 to 102 and stretch the fields but no effects to output.
Please suggest me the correct approach to get output as per pre-printed stationary in 17 CPI.

Issue with BLOB support

All,
I'm trying to use the APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC function in a report.
I'm calling the function in a report as the src attribute for an img element as follows: APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC('P41_IMAGE_LOCATION', id).
P41_IMAGE_LOCATION is configured as follows:
1. Type: File Browse
2. Source: DB Column
3. Source Value or Expression: IMAGE_DATA
4. Format Mask: IMAGE:LMS_QUESTION_IMAGES_TEMP:IMAGE_DATA:ID:::::::
When I run the report the image tag's src attribute is being set to the following:
apex_util.get_blob_file?a=103&s=2514501772414180&p=41&d=&i=1746729184869767&p_pk1=2&p_pk2=&p_ck=7A36CA4F4A67448AD772B7864FBBAB64
But nothing is displayed... Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong?

Ok, I found what I was missing in the spec for the function. I had to have a page process DML_PROCESS_ROW that had the table name. I don't know why this was needed and it wasn't mentioned in various pages I was reading. I thought the table name would have been pulled from the format mask on the item.

IPhone 4S issues with wi-fi and iMessage & Apple support

Against my better judgement and experience I bought an Apple iPhone 4S when it was released. I should have remembered the extensive pain I experienced with Apple's so-called "support" when I had iPod/iTunes issues but I bought into the promise and the hype by Apple's marketing. I'm still wondering why this product includes only 90 days of support if Apple is so confident in it's reliability. So I was having increasingly frequent problems with my iPhone connecting or remaining connected to known strong and good wi-fi connections. It would arbitrarily disconnect from my wi-fi and go to a 3G connection which of course causes me to use data on my Verizon data plan. Usually I didn't notice the change in connection until I was waiting far too long for the requested information to show up. As you can imagine, that issue will push me towards exceeding my data plan quckly and thus cost me more money on my Verizon bill. Not acceptable.
Then in the last two weeks I started having an issue with iMessage/IM in being able to reply to messages. I could read them, I could open and close the app, but once I tapped in the field to type my reply it froze. I could not type anything. I could close and reopen the app, same problem again.
So I set up a call with Apple's glorious support system for which I had only a few days left on my extensive 90 day support term. The lady that called me was friendly and fun to talk to. No issues there. She had me initiate a backup after checking a few things. Because the backup was going to take about 20 minutes, she asked if she could call me back. I was fine with that, no need to make small talk for that amount of time. I got a call back but it was from a guy at another location. This concerned me but he said he had all the notes so I was hopeful. He advised me that if there was some corrupt SW on my iPhone, restoring would only put the problem back on my phone. I'm a sales guy in the IT industry, so I bought that. He said he was going to set my phone back to "new" as if I just bought it, then would restore all my apps, settings, contacts etc back to my phone. It was a big leap of faith for me, but I went along because they are supposed to be the experts. After spending close to an hour on the phone with this guy, who was also polite and fun to talk to, he has me start the restore process and waited on the phone with me for a while. The process was taking quite a while, I think around 30 in total so about 20 min into the process he has me stop the restoring session and tells me I can restart it later. He wants to check that my wi-fi is working. It was, so he asked if there was anything else I needed. I said just to put my phone back to the way it was with my apps, contacts, music etc. He told me that would complete when I finished the restore. I had to go to my company's office for the afternoon and spent much of that time resetting everything that was on my phone to how it was before. I noticed that the iPhone had pulled every single contact from my Outlook db on my personal computer (where iTunes resides) and all the contacts that I had set up on my iPhone were gone unless they were also in my Outlook. The really aggravating part of this issue is that I have about 800 contacts in my Outlook, many of which are people I don't want or need to have on my phone. The contacts I had entered on my iPhone over the past almost 3 months were the people I call or call me. All that data appears to be gone. I have since restored twice and the same thing occurs, everything is set back to "new" status and nothing is the way it was. I am now so angry I could crush this phone with a hammer and switch to the competition. Neither of the very nice people who "helped" me told me I would lose any information. In fact, both assured me my phone would be back to the same setup I had previous to their help.
I ask you folks at Apple, what is the use of backup if it doesn't back up AND restore all the information? We have a saying in my business, "you can back up the entire world, but how well can you restore?". I don't know if some step was missed along the way, or I initiated a restore from an incorrect target, but I am not a happy customer. Add to that the fact that I'm locked into a 2 year contract on this thing, and have had issues with poor support before and I'm pretty angry. I've gone into my local Apple store to ask a question about my iPhone's capability. It was a simple question that required only a "yes" or "no" answer and I would have been fine either way. What I got from the pasted on smile Apple associate was a sales pitch on the product I was showing her! Continously smiling and telling me the world is beautiful does not answer questions or resolve issues. I was eager to buy an iPad in the near future but with the pain I seem to get everytime I buy an Apple product, that purchase is never going to happen. You can block me here, blacklist me or whatever you like to do to keep people from reading negative comments about Apple, but I will be posting this same story elsewhere as well. For the amount of profit you make from these devices, I expect much better service and much less aggravation.

The nice thing about owning this overpriced POS is that Apple not only doesn't support it, but also doesn't want to hear about anything negative regarding it. So I spoke to the so-called "support" people at Apple who successfully screwed up my contacts beyond repair. I got a nice email from Apple asking me to rate the support I got. I was actually civil and described the issue tactfully. What do I get in return? Nothing. Not a damned thing!! You're luck you've got me by the short hairs on a 2 year contract but I'm still tempted to throw this POS through the front window of the nearest Apple store!! Not only will I be replacing this phone with a competitive product but I won't be buying anymore Apple crap. I guess when you con 27 million people into believing your rhetoric and sales lies, you don't have to care whether some customers get screwed or not. I'll be going back to Verizon and threatening legal action if they don't take this electronic dung heap back but I'm sure the teams of lawyers Apple and Verizon have on staff have insured that I have no rights in this matter and you're free to screw me anytime you please. Sad. I used to love Apple as a company and your products. Now you're just another Microsoft with more trendy looking junk. I've had it with you. If any of your executives are brave enough to talk to me, please contact me at your convenience.
