Attn Grant Ronald : Web Services How To : Not valid anymore

Hi Grant
The how to integrate web services with Forms uses Jdeveloper 10g to create a stub for the web services which can be called in from Forms 10g. The step by step instructions are based on version 9i. Jdeveloper 10g does not have the same deployment options as 9i version. The instructions have to change.

Web Services are not supported on apex.oracle.com at this time. This is a fairly recent change - just after our upgrade a few weeks back.
I just added a note to our ShowCase app that demonstrated this a few days ago because our Web Services Showcase pages no longer work (but you can download the packaged version of the application and install it locally to see it work).

  • Web Service security is not set up on this component

    Hi Friends,
    In RWB, when I click on component monitoring->Integration Engine, I got "Web Service security is not set up on this component"
    I want to send message using soap adapter by encrypting and signing it. for this purpose I need to configure the Web Service Security.
    Can someone please provide some documentation or link on how to set up this Web Service Security?
    thankx

    Can universe connect to restful webservice? I know it is allowed to connect to SOAP webservice. Currently is using WSDL1.1.
    How about restful web service which does not have any wsdl file?

  • Web Service session manager not found.

    I'm trying to understand how to use the HTTP utilities, and I'm having trouble just creating a session.  I get a Web Service session manager not found error.  I've read where the client has to support cookies.  My eventual client will be a labview VI that talks to a web server.  I llooked at the Toolsptions, but don't see anything related to cookies.  Not sure if that's what's causing this anyway, but I'm just digging.  Also, I want to eventually send http messages across TCP/IP.  Do I need to use the TCP/IP VIs (i.e. open connection, etc) or do I use the http utilities alone.  If both are needed, how does the httpRequestID and the TCP/IP connection ID correlate.

  • 11G - invoking an asynchronous Web service that is not a BPEL process

    Hi all,
    Is there an 11G example of implementing and invoking an asynchronous Web service that is not a BPEL process ? . In 10g there is an example for Axis web service (Oracle_Home\integration\orabpel\samples\interop\axis\BPELCallingAsyncAXIS ) but I can't find anything related to 11G so far.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hey Chris.
    I am just starting to write a jcd that calls an external web service but cannot find any sample code nor instructions on how to do it in the supplied documentation. Could you send me a code sample from your one?

  • Error "web service destination is not configured" in CTS+

    Hi experts,
    during deployment with CTS+ I get the error "web service destination is not configured" (see below). In fact there is a web service to be deployed and a WebDynpro-DC using this web service as adaptive web service model. The model uses the destination DACC_PI_WS_METADATA_DEST and DACC_PI_WS_EXECUTION_DEST. I configured both destinations in the server with type "WSDL".
    Any idea what goes wrong?

  • Code generated from imported web service model does not compile

    I have created a model in Web Dynpro by importing a web service model using a valid WSDL, but the generated code won't compile because of type mismatches.
    The problem is that methods sometimes try to pass plain objects to methods whose parameter is an array of that object, and a List to methods whose parameter is a plain object.
    [Examples from SAP Netweaver tasks below]
    Thanks,
    Alastair
    snip
    The method setSessionData(EntInstType) in the type AssessRequestData is not applicable for the arguments (EntInstType[])
    ComplexType_AssessRequestData.java
    Type mismatch: cannot convert from EntInstType to EntInstType[]
    ComplexType_AssessRequestData.java
    The method setResult(List) in the type Response_JrbrsRefGeneric_listGoals is not applicable for the arguments (EntType)
    Request_JrbrsRefGeneric_listGoals.java

    I'm getting the same error.
    Type mismatch: cannot convert from short[][] to short[]
    ComplexType_Carton.java
    and...
    The method setNumeroscarton(short[][]) in the type Carton is
    not applicable for the arguments (short[])
    ComplexType_Carton.java
    Steps to recreate the problem:
    1. Create and Expose webservice method with a parameter whose type has a short[][] (or bidimensional array of anything) field (property).
    2. Try to import the web service in web dynpro... <b>kaputt</b> it won't compile.
    <b>Seems like a bug to me. Someone please advice.</b>

  • Web Services Demo (OTNMobileWrapper) not works

    I tested in my own database environment and also at my account on htmldb.oracle.com.
    - Wheather service works fine
    - Amazon works fine
    - OTNMobileWrapper did not
    I believe the URL and the Action are wrong!
    (the Urls in Wheather and Amazon I can call in the browser directly, the Url from OTNMobileWrapper was not found).

    yeah, i see what you mean regarding that "OTN Message Service" option in our web services demo. further inspection by a teammate reveals that more than a few of these OTN Live Web Services appear to not be working. i'm currently checking around to see what the deal is with that, but from an html db perspective, though, you should already know what you need to know: it is possible to call web services from within your html db applications. this particular one in our example appears to currently be unavailable (if you do feel it's our "URL and action", btw, please do send that info to [email protected]), but calls to the more stable ones like amazon, for instance, always work.
    hope this helps,
    raj

  • Stateful Web Services: how to free session after commit?

    Hello,
    We're developing an interface via web services to DM5.
    The web services are stateful, so we can handle BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT/ROLLBACK.
    Apparently the web service session is not freed after the call to BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT/ROLLBACK. This is visible in a test that sends 100 operations very quicly, the app server stops responding after the first 90 calls (actually the server starts responding a void text/xml). After a while (I guess after some http sessions are available after timeout), the server starts responding again.
    Our assumption was that commiting the transaction would free the corresponding session, but it looks like this is not the case...
    Do you have any clues on that? Timeout is the only way to free a web service session?
    Thank you

    To enable rest support there are some instructions below:
    Before undertaking this process, I recommend backing up the file(s)
    you are going to edit.
    By default REST is disabled in Axis 2. We need to enable it. We
    need to go to the following folder. Assuming D: is the installation drive:
    1.     D:\Program
    Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf (for 32 Bit OS)
    or D:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf (for 64 Bit OS)
    2.     There is a file with the name axis2.xml (This file is an XML File and contains many parameters as well as many other things).
    3.     Make a backup copy of the filename you are about to edit.
    4.     Open the axis2.xml file in Notepad or 'XML Editor' to edit
    5.     Search for the word REST (Ctrl & F is probably easiest)
    6.     You will see a line like this
    <parameter name="disableREST" locked="true">true</parameter>
    We need to replace' true' with 'false' to enable REST, and after the changing that line will look like following:
    <parameter name="disableREST" locked="true">false</parameter>
    7.     Save the file and restart the web server.

  • Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16

    Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16
    I need to make wsdl web service call in my weblogic app server. The web service is provided by a 3rd party vendor. I keep getting error
    Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found
    Certificate chain received from ws-eq.demo.xxx.com - xx.xxx.xxx.156 was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure
    Validation error = 16
    From the SSL debug log, I can see 3 verisign hierarchy certs are correctly loaded (see 3 lines in the log message starting with “adding as trusted cert”). But somehow after first handshake, I got error “Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found”.
    Here is how I load trustStore and keyStore in my java program:
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore",”cacerts”);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", trustKeyPasswd);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", keyStoreName);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword",clientCertPwd);      System.setProperty("com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump","true");
    Here is how I create cacerts using verisign hierarchy certs (in this order)
    1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignClass3G5PCA3Root.txt -alias "Verisign Class3 G5P CA3 Root"
    1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediatePrimary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Primary"
    1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediateSecondary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Secondary"
    Because my program is a weblogic app server, when I start the program, I have java command line options set as:
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore=SSLTrust.jks
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.enforceConstraints=strong
    That SSLTrust.jks is the trust certificate from our web server which sits on a different box. In our config.xml file, we also refer to the SSLTrust.jks file when we bring up the weblogic app server.
    In addition, we have working logic to use some other wsdl web services from the same vendor on the same SOAP server. In the working web service call flows, we use clientgen to create client stub, and use SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter to load trustStore and keyStore, and then bind the SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the webSerive client object and make the webservie call. For the new wsdl file, I am told to use wsimport to create client stub. In the client code created, I don’t see any way that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the client object, so I have to load certs by settting system pramaters. Here I attached the the wsdl file.
    I have read many articles. It seems as long as I can install the verisign certs correctly to web logic server, I should have fixed the problem. Now the questions are:
    1.     Do I create “cacerts” the correct order with right keeltool options?
    2.     Since command line option “-Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore” is used for web server jks certificate, will that cause any problem for me?
    3.     Is it possible to use wsimport to generate client stub that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to it?
    4.     Do I need to put the “cacerts” to some specific weblogic directory?

    I received a workaround by an internal message.
    The how to guide is :
    -Download the wsdl file (with bindings, not the one from ESR)
    -Correct it in order that the schema corresponds to the answer (remove minOccurs or other things like this)
    -Deploy the wsdl file on you a server (java web project for exemple). you can deploy on your local
    -Create a new logicial destination that point to the wsdl file modified
    -Change the metadata destination in your web dynpro project for the corresponding model and keep the execution desitnation as before.
    Then the received data is check by the metadata logical destination but the data is retrieved from the correct server.

  • The setting ExternalProxy in the Web.Config file was not valid.

    Since installing Exchange 2010 SP1 (Upgrade from RTM) I get this in the event viewer.
    The setting ExternalProxy in the Web.Config file was not valid. The previous value was null and has been changed to .
    Any ideas what to check?

    I'm also getting a number of these errors on Exchange 2010 SP1 RU1, the settings that I get notified include (the values have been changed to a number of diferent values):

  • Connection to license service failed; license service address is not valid...

    Connection to license service failed; license service address is not valid, or license service is stopped (or does not respond), ConnectToCompanyReturn = -131 in ConnectToCompany()
    This is the error I received from an addon.  It works running it on the server where the SAP license is but as soon as a SAP client starts and the addon tries to connect I receive the error but I don't understand there's no different about the SAP code given to connect an addon.
    Here's the method in which it fails
    private int ConnectToCompany()
        int ConnectToCompanyReturn = 0;
        // // Establish the connection to the company database.
        ConnectToCompanyReturn = oCompany.Connect();
        if (ConnectToCompanyReturn != 0)
            string Message = oCompany.GetLastErrorDescription() + ", ConnectToCompanyReturn = " + ConnectToCompanyReturn.ToString() + " in ConnectToCompany()";
            System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(Message);
            System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.Abort();
        return ConnectToCompanyReturn;
    It just hangs on the ConnectToCompanyReturn = oCompany.Connect();
    I did addons for about 8 years.  This is the first time I see an addon not connecting like that.  Any ideas ?
    SAP 9 PL09 Hotfix 1
    The SAP client works fine,  Coresuit addon connects all right so I'm lost here !

    Here's the code used in the addon which is the same since 2005 followed by the code that calls these methods from the constructor.  These methods are called the same way.

  • Web service handler could not called in client web service

    Hi All,
    I have two web service ServiceA & ServiceB and both implemented in weblogic.
    The ServiceA is SSL enable and protocol is https which is not published by me.
    The ServieB is my web service(wls8.1) and act as client for ServiceA.
    My problem is when i hit my service, its not able set the handler when it call ServiceA but it is invoking the service and giving application exception like authentication error.

    I have tested static client calling using handler simple above service and found the issues.
    QName portName = new QName(namespace,
    "*RemoteServicePortType*");
    The above line code has created the issues,becuase in wsdl file ( given similar wsdl file).
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <definitions name="HelloService"
    targetNamespace="http://www.ecerami.com/wsdl/HelloService.wsdl"
    xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"

    <part name="firstName" type="xsd:string"/>
    </message>
    <message name="SayHelloResponse">
    <part name="greeting" type="xsd:string"/>
    </message>
    *<portType name="RemoteServicePortType">*
    <operation name="sayHello">

    <output message="tns:SayHelloResponse"/>
    </operation>

    <soap:body

    namespace="urn:examples:helloservice"
    use="encoded"/>
    </input>
    <output>
    <soap:body
    encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    namespace="urn:examples:helloservice"
    use="encoded"/>
    </output>
    </operation>
    </binding>
    <service name="Hello_Service">
    <port binding="tns:Hello_Binding" name="*RemoteServicePortType1*">
    <soap:address

    <soap:address
    location="http://host4:8080/soap/servlet/rpcrouter"/>
    </port>
    </service>
    </definitions>
    From the above WSDL, I have four port name (port binding="tns:Hello_Binding" name="*RemoteServicePortType1*) which is not matching with PortType (portType name="*RemoteServicePortType*")
    even i have iterated from getPorts() method and used to invoke the service.But handler was not calling when i invoke.
    Please guide me here how i specify correct portname which can call Handler class also.
    Thanks in advance,
    pps
