ATTN NEED TO RECOVER OLD SKYPE NUMBER Hello there...... I had a subscription and a skype number assigned. I let the number lapse and just realized it. I need to recover that phone number. I call it and it says it is out of service yet I cannot select it as a new number and I see no way to recover my old number within my account settings etc. Please advise and have a great day!!! Your Skype Number should have been held in reserve for you to renew for a period of 90 days following the subscription end. Beyond that timeframe, the number is released/recycled back into the system.
Skype Customer Service may be able to provide more detailed information. Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
As you know you wish to contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request. You may also skip past in Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started!

When you contact Skype Customer Service for assistance in cancelling the Skype Number subscription you no longer need, please report that you were unable to do so yourself, and report what you typed here!

Old skype number

Hi there my old skype number has ran out. Would it be possible to get it back or would it have been given to someone else now?

You would have to go through the process to purchase the number, then search for it after you select the country and area code it was in. If you do not find that number, it has been resold to another Skype user or is unavailable to anyone for use as an Online Number.

Retrieving Old Skype Number

I have been trying to raise my concern via the skype chat but it seems its not working. But basically here is my concern.
I got a skype number a few months ago, About 1month ago, i could not continue with the payments. so now the skype number doesnt go through. I would like to know how to reconnect my skype number. is there a link where i make payment and continue with the use of my old skype number.

You should be able to sign on to your account dashboard and reactivate your Skype Number. The number will be held on your account for ninety (90) days following the Skype Number subscription's expiration, so you have opportunity to sign on and renew the subscription.
Remember that the payment method you wish to use is accurate and up-to-date. If you used Skype credit, be sure there is enough credit on account to cover the cost of the renewal.

Need to recover the serial number of a stolen iPad.

My iPad (I think it was a 4) 32 gig with WiFi only was stolen and I need to recover the serial number of it for the police report. How can I do that without having access to the iPad?

If the iPad was running iOS 7, the thief/finder will not ever be able to use it.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

I had a Skype number a few years ago. Was thinking of reactivating my account, and was wondering of I could use the same number (or do I have to get a new one)?

Hi Dave,
It works this day- after the number expires it is reserved for the same account for another 90 days.
After that it comes back to the general pool and can be purchased by anyone.
Unfortunately you old Skype Numbers belong to someone else already

Need help with understanding Skype Number please

Not sure if this is posted twice!
I live in the UK and am trying to offer online coaching through a company in America. I can only offer live chat sessions if I have a US or Canadian number. Is it a Skype Number that I need? Why would it matter which State I choose - will people only be able to contact me from that State?
Would be really grateful for some clarity.

Unfortunately, for several reasons, Skype Numbers are not available in Canada.
The concept of any virtual number is to provide a way for people who do not have accounts on the service to contact the subscriber, but using a fixed line or land line number. In the case of Skype Numbers in the United States, the best scenario would be to have a number set up where most of your customers would be able to call without incurring high toll charges or ideally no toll charges. Of note, not all states participate in the Skype Number program, again for any number of legitimate reasons.
Skype does not offer "toll-free" numbers.

I had a skype number that expired almost a year ago, but I keep getting autobilled for it. Fortunately I did not have sufficient funds in my pay pal account. How do I deactivate this? I want to get a new number - but not until I can resolve this. Please help!

Thank you for your further explanation. The fact that you do not see the Skype Number subscription on your Skype account details and purchase history is mystifying; please contact Skype customer service to sort this.

Need to recover old playlists, old iTunes library will not open because it was created by a newer version?

I have a Mac mini, have installed iTunes on it and want to find some old playlists that were lost. I have several 'iTunes Libraries' with different dates but I cannot open any of them becauseit says they were created with a newer version of iTunes. Please help!

Somewhere in your process you ended up with an earlier version of iTunes than was used last with the library. iTunes 10.6.3 is the highest version that will run under OSX 10.5.8

If you had an earlier version and still want that version I am not sure how to go about this. My iTunes library file does not say it was created with a particular version, although I admit I have not looked at the .xml copy to see if it is buried in the file itself. Apple only has a very limited number of iTunes versions openly posted, though you can still find just about any version if you look in the right places. You would have to kind of start low and work your way up to where you want to be since once you open a library with a version it cannot be reverted to an earlier version (make backups first).

Need help recovering old messages

I recently had to do a wipe/reinstall of a mail server, one of the users did not backup old copies of the messages in his imap account. I have recovered the old users folder from /var/spool/imap/user
How do I go about recovering the messages from that folder, and place them into his new folder?

Put the messages from the backup into the users mailbox folder and reconstruct the mailbox by issuing:
sudo -u root /usr/bin/cyrus/bin/reconstruct -r -f user/username
(replace username with actual user name/mailbox name)

Cancelling my skype number

I took a subscription for a skype number in June, thinking it was only for three months. I no longer need it but discover I have just been billed for the coming three months, even though I will not need it or be using it. I can find no way to communicate this problem with Skype folks. Help, please!
