Hello Gurus,
I haven't worked on a scenario in which there's a need to use the attribute AN1-Asset. I want to know any of you have can share your experience in working with any client & using this attribute to connect to ECC FICO.

Real time business functionality using SAP Xi and hardware included????

Hi All,
I am quite new to sap-xi. i have practised some of the scenarios that can be done with xi.
I was just trying to visualise some of the real time business requirements where SAP XI is used.
For example
Some may have used Sap XI to transform data between file server and SAP system or may a web serve asking for details from sap system to display datas or some times sap xi systems sits betweem an integration server (like biztalk etc) and sap system.
Can anyone of you can give me some of the real time requirements you have dealt with over the years
in terms of business functionality and servers involved in the whole system?

Custom Relationship or Evaluation Path needed for 'Time Admin' Scenario

Hello all Gurus,
I am looking for some direction on a scenario that I am trying to accomplish.
The position u201CLEAD Solutions Architectu201D, in the example below, is going to be what we will classify as a Time administrator. The function on this Time Admin will to be to correct an employeeu2019s punch exceptions via a portal application (ITC). But, my issue is that I need this user/position to be able to view all organizations and their people down below.
I have tried creating a custom evaluation path and I can get it to work down to the ORG, but not to the employee.
Also, I have created an ABAP program and routine to tie to a custom relationship, but when I attempt assign the new program, the program name disappears after clicking on new entry (T77EV-PROGR).

1) Is it a customer ITC app in the portal?
a) This is SAPs iTime Clock for punch edits
2) Are you using structural auth's ? also have you checked to make sure the time admin user has the right auth's to see people?
a) We do use Structural auth and I have already opened that orgranization up to my test Time Admin
3) Post the eval path you have so far.

Help Needed in mapping business scenario

Hi All,
I have a RM inter unit despatches for this we are using STO. While doing inter unit despatches we have to pay freight on per kg (Gross Weight) for a source and destination. This has already been mapped by creating a condition type and condition record.
But there is a scenario where in when inter unit despatches happens there is an agreement b/w transporter and company if the company does not load full truck then the company needs to pay a minimum amount which has been negotiated with the transporter in this case, the freight condition is not being payed only minimum gurantee amount is payed to the transporter.
Could any of us help me in mapping only the minimum gurantee scenario in R/3.
We are using STO to do inter unit despatches.

HELP !! Need real time communications between one Instructor Laptop to 12 -20 student laptops (Wireless network )

I am trying to delvelop software (Labview based) That will be installed on students laptops (12-20 max) that will read data continusly (1-10 hz max) from the instructors laptop. I am told that using a text file and have students read continuosly is not a viable option. Any help would be greatly appreiciated. I mostly write simple data aquistion type programs strain gages LVDT's etc as an engineer. I am not a full time programmer so I learn as needed. The data is simple double prescision contantly updated from a simulation.
This is going to be a freebie software for schools eventually. Please help... Thanks

Well, you can also use TCP instead of UDP. The TCP networking protocol provides a little more overhead to make sure packets arrive in order, and will be resent if missed. That doesn't necessarily guarantee all data will arrive. Unplug a network cable for a short period of time, and a sent packet will eventually timeout and disappear. But the internet runs on this protocol pretty well, (at least that's what I've been told ) so I'm pretty sure it will work reliably enough for your small network application.
If you need further assurances all of your data arrives, then you can serialize each pack of data yourself, put a sequential number in the transmission with the other data. If the receiving program detects a missing serial number, or one out of order, then at least you know at the level of your application and can do something about it. But I seriously doubt your application is so critical that you'd need to worry about implementing this. Just rely on TCP and you'll be fine.

No it's certainly possible. I would try that first, see if it's working at all.
Sometimes, running this page from an end user PC, can fail if your JRE is not the right version. One way to find out if that is the case: uninstall your java, reboot, then launch the RTR page and it will automatically isntall the correct version for you.
Try these, and report back.

BPM is mainly used in senarios where extra functionalities are to be done with the source message which cannot be done using the normal mapping and user-defined functions, like
->Collecting of messages till a certain count or for a specific criteria.
->Merging messages
->Spliting messages
->Processing of error files and sending to specific location and sending alerts.
->Parallel processing of two criterias at the same time can also be done using BPM.

Hi,
You can restrict the key figures of an InfoProvider for reuse by selecting one of more characteristics. The key figures that are restricted by one or more characteristic selections can be basic key figures, calculated key figures or key figures that are already restricted. Which means you can define and use them globally in reporting for a particular infoprovider.
Example:
You have to show the sales for different product typessay 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, for a company code.
now you can define a RKF with company code and sales keyfigure.
In the report, in columns, you use this RKF in new selection and restrict it with product type in 6 diff columns.
New Selection.
Restrict it with RKF
Restrict it with product type 1.
similarly for others..

I have mentioned couple of real time scenario I know.
[1] Down payment :
When PO gets created and vendor asks for some portion of PO as an advance payment, accounts payable department creates down payment request for the purchase order using F-47 and enters PO number in it.automatic payment program pays for the down payment request made.
When automatic payment program makes payment, PO gets updated with Down payment amount, and purchasing department gets visibility against that PO and knows that certain amopunt has been paid as an advance payment.
When Goods is received and invoice is entered using MIRO for that PO accounts payable department gets notification that down payment exists towards PO.
and they clear down payment made for the PO againt the invoice.
[2] AR/AP netting :
Some times in business some customers are also vendors.
SAP has given the functionality to set the Customer as a vendor scenario.
it requires two settings in customer-vendor master record.
For customer who is also vendor, cendor master record is created , in control tab customer number is entered in vendor master, same time in customer master record in control tab vendor number is entered for that customer.
Check clear agaist customer-vendor in both master record.
when payment is made to this vendor/customer another master record gets updated automatically.

Need urgent help in Real Time scheduling algorithm implementation

I am new to Java Real Time programming. I have faced a problem which is stated below:
Declare tasks
for
if it is schedulable then run the task
otherwise it is not schedulable
for
check priority with respect to deadline.
select highest priority task
for
start higest priority task
if the task is preemtable
then switch lowest priority task to highest priority task and stop the lowest priority task
after completion higest priority task, lowest priority task complete the rest of the work.
this is actually a pseudocode for real time dynamic scheduling ( rate monotonic scheduling). can anyone please help me develop the code?
