I have a problem with the master data of "asset sub number"
Theses master data are with the status "A"
But when I want display these caracteristics on business explorer with a simple keydate, I have always not assigned
Have you got an idea?

Do you want a reporting on "asset sub number"? Is it an attribute of another infoobject? If yes, then of which attribute? Is this attribute display/navigational, time-dependent?
Or you want a query on attributes of "asset sub number"?
What is your infoprovider, master data infoobject or a cube/ODS?
If you want to get rid of unassigned, you need to provide the value of the infoobject to your infoprovider. Have you done this?

Navigational attributes time dependent in queries

I have a doubt, I have a master data with navigational attributes and time dependent and I need display from a query a comparative date between 2 navigational attributes; the value of the master data's attribute navigational and time dependent.

I describe the case again:
I need display a comparative between 2 time period based in navigational attributes in a Query.
It is possible? I think that only a date is possible because the key date controls the output to the date specified or by default to today. Is it correct?, if I need keep historical information must save in the cubo each attribute neccesary for comparation to a period.

Maintaining attribut time dependent master data

Hi all,
I have a question regarding normal system behaviour while maintaining BW Attributs with dependent master data. For example, I have created an infoobject like this:
- cod 40029, class 10 valid from 01.01.2008 until 31.12.2008
- cod 40029, class 10 valid from 01.01.2009 until 31.12.9999
But afterwards when I try to maintain master data and change the 2nd row (valid until the end of 2010) the system changes the requested row but also creates an extra line with same data valid until 9999
- cod 40029, class 10 valid from 01.01.2008 until 31.12.2008
- cod 40029, class 10 valid from 01.01.2009 until 31.12.2010
- cod 40029, class 10 valid from 01.01.2011 until 31.12.9999 (extra line)
Is this the standard behaviour? the fact is that with this behaviour the user allways needs to "delete" the fields cod 40029 and classe 10 to make the row "unuseful".

Yes this is the standard behaviour.
I am not sure where you are using this and why you need to make it unuseful.
If you are using it in BPS or IP. Create one more attrbute to this master data object, this would flag the usefulness of the timeslice.
You would then be able to filtrer to only useful timeslices in your planning/reporting.
Dont forget to make the flag attribute as navigaitonal attribute.This will allow selection for the flag in the report or filters in IP or BPS.

Navigational attribute issue-time dependent

Hi all,
I am working with 0PA_C01, I included some additional navigational attribute(time dependent )to 0employee, but when i am checking all these navigational attribute at cube level or Report , i can find only the latest values ,for eg i added Designation as a time dependent navigational attribute for 0employee, and the designation for a employee is changing after 12.2008 from VP to SVP ,at the cube   and also in the report i can find only the latest designation for all the calmonth ie before 12.2008 also as SVP .
I checked the the time dependent Navigational attribute option to make designation as a time dependent navigational attribute ,and also ran the attribute change run .
Can anyone suggest some information to fix it?

Dear Sandya,
Results correct only in your report. Time dependent attributes displyas data based on keydate. if no key date specified, system takes current date as key date and displays data.
So in your case latest data displaying. If you want to see any historic designations, you need to specify key date, which shold fall into that particular range.
Create a User entry variable for keydate and use.
Key date
Each query has a key date. For time-dependent data, the key date determines the time for which the data is selected. The default key date value is the date on which the query is executed, that is <Today>.
       1.      Click on the Key Date field. A dialog box with a calendar appears for you to select your key date.
       2.      Select a date from the calendar. If you select 01.01.1999 for example, time-dependent data is read from the 01.01.1999.
Note
The key date applies only to time-dependent data.

i creat time dependent 2 attributes in info object master data (ZCURRLUM) which use in info cube. after that i open workbook or query, it has short dump which error message
   "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" "CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE"
   "CL_RSBOLAP_BICS_SERVICES======CP" or "CL_RSBOLAP_BICS_SERVICES======CM003"

Question: info object master data can't use more than a attribute time dependent???

APD query key date with variable for time dependent MD display attributes

Hello,
In a APD I use a query as a source with a query key date that is filled with a customer exit variable.
When I run the query as a user, the time dependent MD display attributes look fine. However, when I use the query in an APD, I get no values for the time dependent display attributes.
Any suggestions?

How to use a time dependent attribute as a replacementh path in a Bex

Hi friends,
Does anyone know if it is possible to use time dependent attribute as a replacementh path inside the Bex Query .
For example in master data I heve like following records
                       material value    date from                   date to
                           AA       12        01.01.2000               01.01.2002
                           AA        15       02.01.2002                01.01.2005
And on transaction if I have data like
material callday             salesquantity
AA         01.04.2000           50
AA         01.055.2004         100
I want a report output like
material       Calculated value
AA              2100( 50*12 + 100 * 15 )

We are using the progress that you mention at the moment , but sometimes data needs some corrections on factors which had been loaded inside the cube. It is not possible to correct those values inside the Cube later. So I need a solution on time dependent attribute with replacementh path . Then it will be available for corrections on master data .

Time-Dependent Attribute & most recent active value

Hello experts,
How can you show in your report the most recent value of an attribute. It is now showing the first value it encounters.
I need it to show the value which is valid at this moment in time.
That's the whole point of time-dependant, but I can't figure out how to do it.
Any input is highly appreciated.

in query edit mode, click 'query properties', choose button 'values' beside the key date box, tab 'variable', choose the variable 0DAT - current calendar date, or just type in &0DAT& to the box.

Hi Fahrudeen,
You will go for a time dependant nav attr when the attribute values change with time and you need to maintain the history. When you use time dep nav attr, the value is always valid from a date to a certain date. Like for 0COSTCENTER, 0RESP_PERS is a time dependant attr becasue it is possible that for the same costcenter ABC was responsible person from 01.01.2004 to 12.31.2005, and then you have XYZ from 01.01.2006 till 21.31.2008.

User exit for time dependent attribute

In My InfoObject some of the attributes are time dependent and some are not.
Im trying to enhance the time dependant attribute and cant find the fields date to and date from in the transfer structure of the start routine. I also couldnt find the time dependent fields only the fields in the /BI0/P table appears.
Where can I find the fields of the /BI0/Q table (=Time-Ind fields) ?

well normally you see the time independant data in the /bix/p- table and the time dependant data in the /bix/q- table. If you want to see both use the /bix/m- view.

Error activating 0person - Time dependant Nav attribute

Theres a Custom made XObj (navigational attribute) for 0person which is <b>time dependant.</b>
I have removed Check for "Time dependant" and saved & activated.But the object became inactive.Again i have placed the check for "Time Dependant" then the object is not getting activated.
Removing of Check for time dependant navigational attribute has created inconsistency in the table.
Now how to over come this ? somebody pls throw light on this ?
How to repair the table ?? and how to analyse the table by comparing the ABAP Dictionary version with the database version ?

Measures differing if we drill down by time-dependent Attributes

Hi Everyone,
I am having 2 similar reports,one based on a Cube and other based on a Multi Provider.
The data is being fed into these two InfoProviders,from exactly same sources.
Now,if I display the measure(eg. Invoice spend),in both the reports based on the above two InfoProviders,the overall Invoice spend matches across both the reports.
But if we drill down by a characteristic(eg. BU- Low or BU-High) they differ.But by drilling down by any other characteristic they matches.
I have found out,that the nav. attributes(BU- Low and BU- High) are checked "time dependent".
While the others,for which the result is matching are not.
Can this be a possible reason for the mentioned anomaly?Or can there be some other reason to this difference?

take one example.
if you have loaded data on 10th April, then date range is 10th april to 30th april.
then you are loading data on 11th april, at that time you want date range 11th april to 30th april.
So what will happen to 10th april data? what range? 10th to 10th?

How to remove time dependent attributes from 0VENDOR- Please help

Hi All,
As part of master data enhancement, I had added some time dependent attributes to Vendor Master object. After activating, the respective time dependent tables were all created/activated.
Now due to change of requirements, when I am trying to convert the time dependent attributes to non time dependent, I keep getting the activation error because it keeps giving a message "Unable to change the primary key" for MVENDOR. This view is getting the DATETO field because of the original activation. It is not removing that field and is causing the issues.
Even if I adjust/delete the QVENDOR table in SE14 and then try to activate 0VENDOR, it is still retaining the DATETO field in the MVENDOR view and is recreating the QVENDOR table.
I even tried to delete the time-dependent fields from the 0VENDOR (instead of just de-selecting the time dependent flag)...it is saving the changes..but giving activation error.
Is it not possible to delete the time dependent attributes from the Master data...once they are added ?
Please advice.
Any help with this will be greatly greatly appreciated.
At this point 0VENDOR is in inactive state.

First of all, sorry I did not get a chance to respond earlier. There was an issue with my p/w for some strange reason and could not log back in till today.
Also, thank you for all your suggestions.
However, the issue is now fixed. Basically I had already explored and tried every option suggested int his forum, but was still having issues.
The problem was that there was another table in the system that had a reference to this Master Data table field (as a foreign key). After I removed the foreign key referece in the other table, then it let me proceed further.
