Not able to import Attribute Text Values in Taxonomy table

Hi Experts,
I have an excel file with 54K records of Attribute text values need to import in to taxonomy table. my excel file has 3 fields like ID, Name, Text Values. While mapping the fields in feild mapping grid, I have mapped ID field with Attribute Alias, Name with Attribute name, Text Value with Text Value and clone field of Text Value with [Text Value Remote Key]. Based on the field mapping I was trying to map values for ID filed with Attribute Alias field. Here I found Attribute Alias field has values in destination grid which were imported before for Attribute Name ID's in to the Alias field for attribute names.
Here I found these values are different when I tried to map these values and the Value map buttons(Automap/Map/Add) were disabled.
in the same way I tried with out maping the values for Attribute value id and selected the Attribute Alias field as value mapping field. but here in the import actions tab the records are active and disabled the import action option.
so I have executed the import process, but no attribute text values were imported in to Taxonomy table.
I am using the MDM 7.1 with build version 7.1.01.46.
Please let me know if anyone came across this situation.

Attribute Texts in Decision Report

Hi OPA Experts,
We have multiple test forms in our project which have same/similar field. Eg. the field "Common" is spread across multiple test forms. So, during our build we had to make each attribute text unique by prefixing them with the test form name, since system does not allow duplicate attribute text. Now, when we look at the Decision Report, we see <Test Form Name>_Common instead of the screen display text.
Is there a way to overcome this issue, or is there any work-around?
If multiple attributes exist across different properties, with the same text, Build itself fails. And we cannot even Build & Debug nor Build & Run.

Yes - you can add the attribute to your properties file and then click the Override button to override the text that appears in your decision report. That said, this is not recommended! It will make your decision report very difficult to use for debugging - your attributes have different texts because they have different proofs (otherwise you wouldn't need different attributes) so if you remove the unique part of the attribute text you will find it difficult to know which attribute you are seeing in your decision report.
Think about why you have a decision report - do you use it to understand the operation of the rules or do you show it to your end users? If you are using it to understand your rules I certainly wouldn't be overriding the attribute text (for the reasons above). If you are showing it to an end user, perhaps you could represent the information in another, more succinct way (eg using summary screen labels which show/hide as appropriate or put the information in a generated document). Don't forget you can always just hide attributes in the decision report by setting them to Invisible (hides the attribute itself) or Silent (hides the proof) - to do this, add your attribute to your properties file and select the 'Decision Reports' tab. If you make an attribute Silent or Invisible you can still see it in the debugger, but it won't show to your end users (best of both worlds!).

Need Attribute Text instead of public name in Siebel

Hi Experts,
Is it possible in OPA to send across attribute text instead of public name / attributeName in the "SaveSession" inbound interface to Siebel application?

Unforunately SaveSession only saves the attributes and their values. The text of an attribute cannot be saved.
If you really need the attribute text, you would probably have to use some custom code to do the following:
1. Create a text attribute (a2) that will hold the text of the attribute you want the text for (a1):
2. Create a event handler that sets the value of the text attribute (a2) to the text of the attribute (a1).
3. When save is called the text attribute (a2) will be saved to the session.
Its no a very elegant solution, but its the only way I can think of to do it.

Maintain Free Texts as Attribute Text Values

Hi Friends,
Is there a way to maintain random text values in an MDM Taxonomy Attribute. I understand that Attributes are designed to handle pre-defined values, but do we have a work-around to maintain free texts as Attribute Text Values.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Anil
To add- we can also define new values from Data manager in record mode. Suppose we have attribute Nationality with text values maintained as Indian and German. While editing/creating a record in Data manager we need to enter a new value as Chinese this can be done by right clicking on attribute value cell and select Modify text attribute value list.
This way we can add new values on ad hoc basis.

Category Attribute - Text

Dear MDM Experts,
I want to import a quite long text into a Category Attribute, but when I do the mapping in the Import Manager, the message says that the imported text is too long, and it will be cutted to 128 character.
Is there any solution for this problem? Can I change the type of this Category Attribute to Large Text, as it is possible by Fields in Console?

Hi Adam,
I have done a quick explore on this context and would like to share some information.
1. The Taxonomy metadata like Name,Alias,Definition of Attribute not physically present in the Console ( up to my knowledge ) - so it hard to change the data types...either we have to go with 128 or split the actual text into Name and Alias.
2. Even Data manager import also not supporting the Definition import since its not recognized field by MDM..

Hierarchy load -Master Data(No attributes,Text data loaded)

I have been trying to load hierarchy data in the datasource 0BBP_BIGURE_HIER from SRM to my BI system but the monitor shows the req remaining in yellow for hours together.The data comes fine till PSA but doesnt get loaded to the Infoobject 0BBP_BIGURE.The text data has been succesfully loaded for 0BBP_BIGURE.No attributes for the infoobejct to be loaded.
Can someone provide some information abt how to load 0BBP_BIGURE_HIER from SRM and what can be the possible errors.

Hi,
I have tried what it says in SAP url(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/85/14853df3e60968e10000000a114084/frameset.htm). I have reset the timestamp in the table BBP BWTIMESTAMP in Enterprise Buyer but, then, when i tried to upload the hierarchy again as it says, the problem persist. The monitor keeps the yellow status and the hierarchy doesn´t upload.
What have you done to solve it finally?

Loading GL Master Data -- Attributes, Text, Hier ; and Transaction Data

Hi all,
Could any one give me the steps individually to load the following type of data in BI 7.0:
1. Master Data with Attributes
2. Master Data with Text
3. Master Data with Hierarchy
4. Transaction Data
Do I have to create the Transformation and DTP's individually to load all the above kind of Data?
Please give me the information as much as you can.

For master data when you create tranformation it will prompt infoobject to act as infoprovider, and then you create DTP to schedule data to it. It works fine with attribute and Texts, though hierarchy dosn;t support much features of 2004s at my side. Like i am not able to migrate Hierarchy datasource to 2004s, and even when i replicate it, it comes as 3.5 datasource only.
For transaction data follow Gokuls step, or try to find on forums you will get lot of discussion on it.

Master data, attributes, texts: ETL process

Hi,
I am new to SAP BW and have a question concerning the difference between master data attributes and texts. I am currently learning with the "sflight" example provided by SAP. There I have, e.g., a table like this:
CARRID CARRNAME          CURRCODE
AA      American Airline   USD
AB      Air Berlin         EUR
AC      Air Canada         CAD
These are my master data because these data won't change often - correct?
What are then my attributes and texts?

I am Karthik, new to both, the community and SAP BI. I have a doubt similar to the main question, that goes like this.

AC          Air Canada             CAD             11:00 AM       Canada
Similar to the above table, if suppose there are two other columns TIME and COUNTRIES_OPERATION,
1. Will TIME be included as "attributes" or "time characteristics" as TIME is an additional information of the master data key and there is dimension table where we can define TIME ?
2. Will COUNTRIES_OPERATION be included as "attributes" or can this be included in "hierarchy"
3. If not what can be used into "hierarchy" from the above table.
Kindly excuse if my question is silly or if it does not make sense. I am very new to these terms and still in the learning curve.

How get Email description attribute text using C#

I am Using CRM 2015 and Get Email activity attribute values but description
attribute getting not text only it getting the whole Html.
i just want to get the text only from description and set to Case Description.

Generic Extraction: Attributes/Texts

Dear Friends,
I need any one of your experience/views on my following mistake.
1) I have created a Text Data Source using "Attribute" data source radio button and used for my texts by mistake. (RS02->Master Data Attributes, instead of RS02->Texts).
I have no issue in pulling the data and deltas..
Will I have any problem while transportation (or) at any place.. will i miss any thing?

Can't view Attribute Text in HR Workflow.

Hi Experts,
I am doing HR Hiring scenario and the BOR is BUS1065. The workflow is triggering and mail is sent. But in the mail i have places Name of the hiring person which is not getting displayed.
When i place dynamic text in mail it asks for three options.
Selected Expression is Multiline.
How is the data to be exported ?
1) Only First line
2)All lines as cont.text
3)All lines with line break
I tried all three but i am not able to get the value.
Should i follow some other way for HR workflows to place text.

Hi,
u can either provide a workflow container element to store the name and use the element in the mail using &var_name& or
create a multiline container element and pass the element using &element& in the mail.
this would dynamically pass the values in the mail...

In SAP BPC, we have created two hierarchy, I001 and I002, but in the moment of created the hierarchy in BPC, i have error, the I002 and I001 hierarchy does not exist in BPC.
I do not know what to do.

DTP error when loading attribute text (obsolete version of Datasource)

See message below. Does PSA content need to be deleted? How do you delete PSA content?

Diagnosis
The request REQU_6W93TMK5M0TA0E0UMMXFYRE95 was loaded into the PSA table when the DataSource had a different structure to the current one. Incompatible changes have been made to the DataSource since then and the request cannot be extracted with the DTP anymore.
System Response
The request is in PSA /BIC/B0000140, version 000. The current PSA version is 001. An extraction would lead to a short dump because of field incompatibilities.
Procedure
If you no longer require the data, you do not need to take any further action.
If you do still require the data, you can just extract it by creating a generic DataSource in the Myself source system in PSA /BIC/B0000140, version 000. You can find the technical name of the PSA table in the table RSTSODS with the specified PSA name and version. Convert the data using a separate transformation into the new target format.

Hey to delete PSA content
1.Go to RSA1>select DataSources>double click on it -->Now..at the top you will find an option to view PSA table corresponding to that datasource..i guess you got there
2.Now simply select the particulur request which you want to delete.from the PSA ...and at bottom left corner is a button for that..
Now one more thing which I would suggest ...if there are some changes done in the source system side for that data source then you will have to do "replicate metadata " and also activate the DTPs again as they get inactive after doing "replicate metadata".This makes those changes transferred to bw side.
