Attunity CDC for Oracle Service - Oracle 12c Support
For the Attunity CDC for Oracle service that is bundled with SQL Server 2012 SP1, is there support for Oracle 12c? Or, will there be updates in the near future to support Oracle 12c? If not, are there other solutions for incremental changes between
Oracle 12c and SQL Server?
Attunity is not bundled with SQL it is a separate item you need to download and pay for (unless you are on the Enterprise edition of SQL Server).
Regarding the rest of the info: http://www.attunity.com/products/attunity-connect/ssis-connectors-for-oracle-and-teradata says Oracle 6 or HIGHER, so yes, for the updates: Attunity now supports SQL Server 2014.
I am not aware of any other solutions from the Microsoft solution stuck side of the view.

Oracle service bus 12c sbconsole not accessible 401
Hi,
i am trying to setup up standalone osb server and access sbconsole. i am getting 401 unauthorized. here is my environment setup.
OS: windows 7
Java: 1.8 64bit
DB: oracle XE 11.2.
OSB: fmw_12.1.3.0.0_soaqs_Disk1_1of1
1. ran rcutil.
2. created admin weblogic servicer-->NodeManager-->clustered-->osbServer1(standalone).
I started node manager, weblogic and osb servers. i am able to login to weblogic and em consoles with username/password weblogic/xxxxxxxx sucessfully
but when i try to login sbconsole; http://localhost:7001/sbconsole i am getting 401 unauthorized.
So i created new user, user1 in weblogic server and added to groups as administrator.
In osb server, i assigned integration developer role and saved configuration.
login to weblogic and em consoles are good with user1. but when i login to sbconsole, i am getting 401 unauthorized.
i followed the following url for creating new user 11 Defining Access Security for Oracle Service Bus (12c Release 1 (12.1.3))
Am i missing anything in my setup ? can someone throw pointers in fixing this .
Thanksyes i am copying the roles for IntegrationAdministrators. below.
I created one more user in wls console and assigned IntegrationAdministrator role only. still i have the same issue.

Differnce between oracle services & oracle instances
hello everbody ...
can any one plz describe me what is the exact differnce between an oracle instance & an oracle sevice.I'm assuming you are talking about an Oracle service available in 10g, not the Windows service that runs the instance under the Windows operating system. If so, then they are just completely different things, as simple as that.
An instance is a collection of background processes and memory structures.
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/intro.htm#sthref83
One or more instances can open a single database.
Services represent groups of applications with common attributes, service level thresholds, and priorities. One or more instances can simultaneously offer a service, but the service does not have to be tied to a single instance.

SSIS Pattern for CDC for Oracle
I am in the process of implementing the CDC for Oracle product from Attunity, and I have a good understanding of how the CDC process works from Oracle to SQL Server. The next step is to load the changes into our operational data store.
Does anyone know of good patterns in SSIS for handling the initial and ongoing loads for CDC for Oracle? I have SSIS packages that handle pure SQL Server CDC, so I understand that process. However, I'm not sure if there are special
things that need to be done to mark the end of the initial load and then start loading changes into the operational data store. Are there any gotchas I need to keep in mind when working with Oracle data and the CDC changes
in SQL Server? My main concerns are with data consistency between the Oracle system and our operational data store, once the initial load is finished, CDC is started and we copy data to the operational data store. What are good patterns
to ensure I'm not missing data, and that I don't introduce duplicate records, because of timing.
Any advice is appreciated.If you are using the CDC for Oracle that Microsoft OEMs from Attunity:
Change Data Capture Service for Oracle by Attunity
CDC for Oracle in SQL Server 2012
It populates the change data in a SQL Server database, just like SQL Server CDC would. So the built-in SSIS support for SQL Server CDC will work.
Change Data Capture (SSIS)
One difference is that the current table data is not available in the SQL database; only the change data is. So to do a full init, or reinit of a table you would have to load that data directly from Oracle.

Does Weblogic Portal Server provides caching services and multilingual support
I wanted to know whether Weblogic Portal Server 8.1 has got the facility for caching
services and multilingual support?is this JSF-portlet.jar bridge file used to create .portlet file from the JSF file so that the portlet file may be added in the portal?
And if you were able to solve the issue by removing the bridge jar file itself, how does that help? if that is the one that would help in creating portlets.
If anyone have been able to create a .portlet file from JSF and deploy in Weblogic 8.1, let me know.
Thanks,

Installing Oracle Services for MTS (9.2) on a 8.1.7 Database
Hello,
I'm trying to run the script oramtsadmin.sql which comes with the Oracle Services for MTS 9.2 on a 8.1.7 database.
When trying to compile the UTL_ORAMTS package I get the following error:
The following error has occurred:
PACKAGE BODY MTSSYS.UTL_ORAMTS
On line: 0
PLS-00908: The stored format of UTL_ORAMTS is not supported by this release
Any idea where I can find a copy of this wrapped package that can be compiled on a 8.1.7 database ?
thx,
Piet NeyrinckI have the same problem. The documentation sayes that it will work with 8.1.7, but when I run the script I get the same error

CDC for Oracle in SQL 2012 not writing updates
Hello...
I have set up a CDC for Oracle Service and Instance for use with SQL 2012. After the instance was started, I inserted six rows of data into my Oracle table and a few minutes later, it looks like the changes were picked up by the service.
The instance status page contains the following information:
Status = Green Checkmark
Detailed Status = PROCESSING
Last Transaction Timestamp = 7/22/2014 12:11:56 PM
Last Change Timestamp = 7/22/2014 11:58:35 AM
Transaction Log Head Change Number = 0x0A2C1C...
Transaction Log Tail Change Number = 0x0A2C1C... (not the same value as the head)
Current Change Number = 0x0A2C1C...
Active Transactions = 1
Staged Transactions = 0
Completed Transactions = 0
Written Changes = 0
Read Changes = 6
It looks like the six rows have been read, but they are not being written to cdc.CDC_TEST_TABLE_CT on my SQL 2012 database.
I exported the diagnostic data using the "Collect Diagnostics" link, but there are no errors in the log. Is there a primer for how to read the results of the diagnostics?
I had the following error earlier today:
"ORACDC517E:Oracle Call Intreface (OCI) method failed: ORA-01291: missing logfile
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR"
But that error was resolved when my Oracle account was granted DBA and "execute_catalog_role" permissions.
The account being used for the CDC Service and Instance has dbo rights on the SQL Server.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!Arthur, thank you for responding. I appreciate it! :)
I followed the instructions from Rakesh Parida's video on Technet. Below are the individual steps I followed for creating the CDC Service and Instance.
CDC Service Setup:
I made sure that supplemental logging was enabled on my Oracle server. I also made sure that my Windows account had DBA and "execute_catalog_role" permissions on the Oracle database.
From the CDC Service Config MMC I ran Action>Prepare SQL Server which created the MSXDBCDC database.
I then ran Action>New Service and entered the following information:
Service name: OracleCDCService1
Service Account: "This Account" radio button with my Windows username and password information
Associated SQL Server: <My SQL 2012 Server>
Authentication: Windows authentication
I also provided a CDC Service master password.
CDC Instance Setup:
Connected to <My SQL 2012 Server> using the CDC Designer MMC
Went through the steps of creating the Oracle CDC Instance
Oracle CDC Instance Name = CDC_TEST_SOURCE
Connected to my Oracle DB using Windows authentication
Selected a single table that I wanted to try CDC on and left CDC Gating Role blank
Ran the Oracle Logging script that enables table logging and supplemental log groups on the Oracle DB
Ran the Status Check step and all passed
Finished the wizard and started the instance
A few minutes after the instance was started I added six records to the table in Oracle.
Please let me know if you need more info.

How To Execute an Oracle 10g SProc using VS 2005, for Reporting Services
Good day! :-)
Anybody who knows the syntax for executing an Oracle Stored Proc thru ODBC connection using VS 2005 for Reporting Services? I am having a problem about this.
I am using the ODBC connection because VS 2005 does not support Oracle Database 10g in its Oracle Database Connection feature (only 7.3, 8i, and 9i), that's y.
While using MS SQL Server 2000, I never encountered any problem. But using Oracle Database 10g, I find it hard to call the stored procedures, an error is generated everytime.
Please click the link below for the screenshots:
http://www.geocities.com/vrcode2/oraError.JPG
http://www.geocities.com/vrcode2/storedProc.JPG
Please help...thank you so much.
FrancisI'll give you updates about the use of the MS SQL Server Reporting Services with VS 2005 and Oracle, this might be helpful for those who will encounter this same ctuation in the future.
I have discovered that if you're going to connect thru ODBC, even if the connection is successful, the user is still prompted to input a password, which should not be the case when using the Reporting Services. Another thing to take note is the issue about REF CURSOR, we're going to have problems with this. And also the syntax on how you're going to call the stored procedures (with or without input parameters).
With modifications made through Oracle Net Manager, and I tried AGAIN connecting through "Oracle (client)" feature of VS 2005 (even if the list only include Oracle 7.3, 8i, and 9i that are supported) with some changes also, you'd still be able to generate correct data with that solution. If the configuration is correct, you just need to call the stored procedure (with or without input parameter), you won't have any problems about the correct syntax.
I suppose VS 2005 was released earlier than Oracle 10g, that's why 10g wasn't included If ever u'd encounter the same ctuation like mine, and u need the details on how to connect, do not hesitate to ask me. -
How to get "Oracle Services for MTS" working?
I've implemented the microsoft code example (see at the bottom) for the use of distributed transactions (with system.transactions and MTS support). The code works fine as long as I use only MS sqlserver.
Well, I tried one connection to an oracle database and one connection to the sqlserver - and here the trouble starts ;-)
Oracle doesn't care about the transaction. After the command is executed the changes are made to the oracle database at once (no commit has occured at that point) even if the second command isn't successfull.
I suppose at the moment that the problem must be something around the interaction between MTS and oracle database, more precisly the oracle Services for MTS.
I've installed the odp.net client (ODAC1020221.exe).
The installer tells me that oracle data access components 10.2.0.2.21 and within the Oracle Services for MTS are installed.
But I cannot find a service with that name in the service list, OracleMTSRecoveryService is listed, but I'm not sure if that's the right one.
So here are my questions:
What's the name for 'Oracle Services for MTS' in the services list?
Do I have to install more than the odp.net client to get the MTS support running?
Is there a mistake in the code I'm running?
any help is welcome ...
thanx in advance!!!
And here's the code I'm working with:
[Transaction(TransactionOption.RequiresNew)]
public class Worker : ServicedComponent
[AutoComplete]
public void Test()
using (TransactionScope scope = new TransactionScope(TransactionScopeOption.RequiresNew, new TimeSpan(0, 5, 0)))
DbProviderFactory theFactory = DbProviderFactories.GetFactory("Oracle.DataAccess.Client");
using (DbConnection connection1 = theFactory.CreateConnection())
try
connection1.ConnectionString = ".........";
connection1.Open();
DbCommand command1 = theFactory.CreateCommand();
command1.Connection = connection1;
command1.CommandText = "Insert into user (name, surname,benoid) values ('hans','wurst','32315134512345')";
object returnValue = command1.ExecuteNonQuery();
using (SqlConnection connection2 = new SqlConnection("Data Source=localhost;Database=UserManagement;Trusted_Connection=true;"))
try
connection2.Open();
//this command fails
SqlCommand command2 = new SqlCommand("Insert into uuuu (name, vorname) values ('hans','wurst')", connection2);
object retValue = command2.ExecuteNonQuery();
catch (Exception ex)
return;
catch (Exception ex)
return;
scope.Complete();
}hey what's up you figured out your problem with M$DTC/Oracle 11i with ODP.NET trying to do a TransactionScope?
I saw your problem - and I ran into the same.
Re: 10g Express + ODP.NET (version 2.111.6.20) > support TransactionScope?
Trying to install "Oracle Services for MTS" not sure how but working on it now. Doc looks old however,

Last Friday, Oracle released version 12.1.0.3.0 of the TimesTen Plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control. This is a landmark release with many new features for database administrators. Besides database performance and availability monitoring; the new plug-in offers administrators the ability to manage and administer their TimesTen instances and databases, such as starting and stopping TimesTen services, loading and unloading databases to and from memory, and scheduling backups and restoring databases. Additionally, users can monitor database and replication activities, memory and disk usages, workload performance statistics, and identify longest running and most executed SQL statements. International users will be pleased to know that the new plug-in was globalized with its user interface translated to nine different languages, the same languages as available in Oracle Enterprise Manager. The Enterprise Manager for TimesTen 12.1.0.3.0 plug-in is downloadable through Enterprise Manager Self-Update.
For more information, visit the TimesTen product center on OTN.The issue seems to be from DB side and an SR would help you in resolving the issue.
However, added below few points you can look as well from your side.
+ DB may be core dumping in which case it would be required to resolve the core dump issue.
+ Running ASH report from sqlplus may not be working in which we need to resolve the DB side issue.
+ If feasible you can choose to upgrade DB to higher version.

Data service for table in Oracle 8.0.6
Hi,
Using WebLogic 8.1.4 and LiquidData 8.5 I am trying to create physical data services for tables in a DB in Oracle 8.0.6. I am aware that that Oracle version is not supported by Oracle anymore, but I need to work with that version anyway (you know how it is sometimes).
I managed to create a connection pool for this through the WebLogic Server Console by providing the JDBC driver for 8.0.6., but when I want to create a data source using the new connection pool and WebLogic tries to get the metadata, I get pop up windows with messages like:
"Bigger type length than maximum"
and
"OALL8 in an inconsistent state"
and
"Protocol violation"
One more thing to mention: I also added the Oracle 8.0.6 JDBC driver to the WebLogic Server classpath (Tools -> WebLogic Server -> Server Properties ... -> WebLogic Server: added classes12.zip to Server classpath additions) and restarted WebLogic Workshop and Server. Still I get those error messages.
Is there a special procedure how to provide/configure a specific driver for a DBMS that is not natively supported by WebLogic?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
WilkoHi Mike,
Thanks for the quick reply. Below the contents of the console window from starting the Workshop and Server. I'll try your next hint next and let you know about the outcome. As far as I see there were no errors issued by the Server while I tried to connect to Oracle 8.0.6 to upload metadata. (I am not sure whether anything was printed out while I started the server). My address is w.eschebach at vsnlinternational dot com.
Thanks,
Wilko

Is it alright to use Oracle 11g DB for Oracle Service Registry 10.3 ?
Hi,
I have setup Oracle Service Registry 10.3 with Weblogic Server 10.3 and Oracle database 11g.
I used the ojdbc6.jar as the jdbc driver.
Installation went smoothly, and I have done the necessary post-installation modification to the startWeblogic.sh
However when I start the weblogic server, it throws

Oracle Service Bus 11g { for financial services }
Latest version available of ORACLE SERVICE BUS FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES is 10gR3 (10.3.1.0) and that of ORACLE SERVICE BUS is 11.1.1.3.0
Are features provided in OSB FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES { like support for specific message formats and protocols such as SWIFT and FIX }
available in OSB 11g and if not, how to get these features with OSB 11g?
Thanks, Yogesh
Edited by: Yogesh Ketkar on Jun 24, 2010 11:36 AMIt is normal practice to release OSB FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES shortly after release of OSB.
So OSB 11gR1 for Financial services should be released any time soon, as OSB 11g R1 is already released.
Please talk to Oracle Sales representative for exact dates.
Thanks
Manoj
