ATV 2 YouTube has gone done (That old problem!)

Hi
Following a complete reboot of all my gear I found that not only could I no longer log into my YouTube account but YouTube had taken the "... no content was found" route.
It's rather annoying given that everything was working fine a hour ago (the preferences in my YouTube account have not been changed) and now this ubiquitous bug appears.
Darn it! I was quite getting used to that comedy channel (UFOTV I think it's called) :-((

Have you checked all your homescreens and app folders for them, and tried searching for it via the iPad's spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) ? Is YouTube hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > YouTube 'off' , and similarly for the other app have you set any app age ratings in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ? And for other app does it show as installed in the Purchased tab at the bottom of the App Store app ?
If they aren't hidden then you could try a reset to see if you can find them after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. You could also do Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will re-arrange your apps and might make them easier to find.

  • Since the update on 21/09/12 YouTube has gone off iPad as well as the store.

I updated the iPad this evening and I only just noticed my YouTube application has gone from my iPad home screen I've looked for it in the first slide and the App Store only has the application for the iPhone. And not only my Ipad but the misses as well.

You can go to YouTube via safari and bookmark the page to your homescreen. It works pretty well for me.

  • I have just done the iOS 6 update and my YouTube  has gone how do I get it back

Where is YouTube gone after the iOS 6 update and how to get it back

You can't the old built-in app back, it's been removed from iOS 6. You can either try one of the YouTube apps from the app store or try accessing it via Safari (you can create a homescreen shortcut for the site)

I want to transfer my data that I have in Quicken on a pc to my new apple macbook pro. Use Quiken for bill pay and track investments.  Has anyone had any experience with that and what would you recommend?  Thanks

Have you checked with the folks at Quicken?

  • YOutube has promted me that my version of Firefox 2.0.0.0.20 is no loger supported, but I have a Mac OS 10.3.9. Is there a newer version which I could download which will run on this system?

I can't update my MacOS version so wondered if there is an in between version of Firefox which would enable me to see youtube videos with the sound and vision synchronized. With my current version the video is about 10 mintues behind the sound!

You will not be able to install a later version of Firefox, they require at least OS X 10.4
A couple of alternative browsers you could try are [http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey1.1.19/ SeaMonkey 1.1.19] and [http://caminobrowser.org/download/ Camino 1.6.11]

  • Please help! My screen has gone blank, and more problems!

Hi, I hope someone can help!
    1) Yesterday, I was listening to my ipod and changing the songs, when it suddenly the songs began changing on shuffle every second mid-song!
    2) Eventually it stopped, but then it really slowed down and would take about 5 seconds to react to me pressing the buttons or changing a song!
    3) Then today, after I had finished using it whilst running, the screen went completely blank, but the music was still working fine. The screen is now still blank, unless I tip it vertically and then I can just about make out an extremely faded outline of the wrting and page format. Also there now appears to be a white smudge/mark on one side of the screen!
What is happening to my ipod and what can I do about these problems? I have had my ipod for only a couple of months!
I would be very grateful of anyone could help!

  • "Oh no! Something has gone wrong." every boot after crashing Steam

So I am using Gnome3. I am also a regular Steam user. It all worked great until like 10 days, when every time I launched Steam my X crashed. Last tried to launched Steam, X crashed again, and when I tried to log in, it went to a grey screen "Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occurred and the system can´t recover. Please log out and try again"
I have completely reinstalled Gnome and my graphic drivers (I use open source ATI drivers, I have an ATI HD7770"
This is my Dmesg : http://sprunge.us/EBIE
And this is my journalctl -b : http://sprunge.us/cfME
The only error I can see is:
    Jun 23 10:27:46 arch org.a11y.atspi.Registry[724]: SpiRegistry daemon is running with well-known name - org.a11y.atspi.Registry
Jun 23 10:27:46 arch org.a11y.atspi.Registry[724]: ** (at-spi2-registryd:727): WARNING **: Failed to register client: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files
Jun 23 10:27:46 arch org.a11y.atspi.Registry[724]: ** (at-spi2-registryd:727): WARNING **: Unable to register client with session manager
    Jun 23 10:27:46 arch /usr/bin/dbus-launch[713]: gnome-session-is-accelerated: No hardware 3D support.
    Jun 23 10:27:46 arch /usr/bin/dbus-launch[713]: gnome-session-check-accelerated: Helper exited with code 256
Maybe I don´t have 3D support now (I don't know why) but I had before everything crashed. I have reinstalled the drivers and followed the Wiki, I have set it to 'glamor'
    I don't really know what's wrong

My problem was that for some reason llvm and clang switched to their SVN version, after hours of compiling, and the computer didn't work anymore.
After putting everything from the normal repos, its working again.

  • Gnome won't start: Oh no! Something has gone wrong.

    Hello,
after a week holyday i installed all new updates on my Notebook (Asus UX31). During shutdown it freezed and i had to switch off the Notebook. Now if i start i can login with Slim and than gnome starts with an error display: "Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occured and the system can't recover. All extensions have been disabled as precaution." I can klick on a Log Out Button but if i log in again, the same is happening. It's funny that there appear reminders from evolution and the dialog to unlock the keyring.
    Any suggestions?

Meanwhile i found out that tracker could be the source of this problem. If not, tracker has a problem. first i tried to reinstall tracker, output was a lot of lines with:
tracker: /usr/share/ tracker-concerning-files exist in filesystem
then i deinstalled it. now when i want to install it, a similar output like obove comes.

  • Gnome 3.2 "oh no! something has gone wrong"

    hey
after i upgraded gnome to 3.2 i got this message
"Oh no! Something has gone wrong.
A problem has occurred and the system can't recover.
Please log out and try again.
    Log out"
do you know what go wrong?
    TY

And in the meantime, if you can, disable all of the extensions and turn back your theme to the default one. Such messages can often appear when you activate an extension or a theme and gnome doesn't like them. Most of the time it doesn't re-appear anymore by simply logging out and then in again, but if it keeps appearing then it's possible that you have a troublesome extension activated.
That's very likely if you upgraded from 3.0, because extensions must be upgraded to work with 3.2 too.
Trick: instead of doing anything complicated, just move all of the folders you find in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ to somewhere else and then try to log in. If it works, activate extensions again from the internet.
If it doesn't work, do the same with what you find in /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/.

  • [Kinda solved] "Oh no! Something has gone wrong." with gnome-fallback

After some upgrades today, I got with an unusable gnome. On every startx it failed with the window "Oh no!  Something has gone wrong. A problem has occured and the system can't recover.  Please log out and try again." (forcing you to close the session, just to reappear on restart)
After ~6 hours on this, and downgrading several packages to no avail, I discovered that the file /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome-fallback.session had been removed.
As I use gnome-fallback, the dconf key “org.gnome.desktop.session” contains “gnome-fallback”, and that apparently requires such file to exist
If you need to change the key with command-line:
    gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session session-name gnome-fallback
I finally got a working system by copying /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome.session to /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome-fallback.session and changing -use a text editor- its line "RequiredComponents=gnome-shell;gnome-settings-daemon;" to "RequiredComponents=metacity;gnome-settings-daemon;gnome-panel"
I hope this serves others to fix this issue.
I still miss the upper applet bar (although perhaps due to uninstalling then reinstalling gnome-panel), and key shortcuts (such as Alt-tab) are not working, but most functionality is there.
If you end up at a desktop with no menus, a way to work is to make in the desktop a symlink to /usr/bin/gnome-terminal.

I apologize for my post above....it's misleading.  The bug in question is regarding a similar failure with gnome, but involving the standard session, not fallback.  The fallback issue may be one of deprecation, I've read that gnome was no longer supporting it as software rendering was considered 'good enough'.
So if you are having the issue described in the OP you may want to file a separate bug.  I posted my bug here as a result of a quick skim of the post and replies to it.  After re-reading it, I see they are separate issues.

  • Oh no! Something has gone wrong... after update

    Hi all!
Yesterday I updated my Arch with `pacman -Syu`. After reboot all gone fine until GDM load. From now on I get background briefly displayed and after 1 second or so I get a screen with:
Oh no! Something has gone wrong.
A problem has occured and the system can't recover. Please contact a system administrator.
...and a picture of a monitor with sad emotion
    Not too informative.
I've looked syslog, messages, dmesg, gdm logs and found nothing special in them. Trying to `rc.d stop gdm` spawns it again with same symphtoms.
I have ThinkPad E420 (Intel graphics) if it matters.
Where should I look to narrow down the problem? Thanks in advance.

    Omg, got it!
    I've fount something like:
JS ERROR: !!! Exception was: Error: Argument 'text' (type utf8) may not be null
    JS ERROR: !!! lineNumber = '0'
    JS ERROR: !!! fileName = '"gjs_throw"'
JS ERROR: !!! stack = '"("Argument 'text' (type utf8) may not be null")@gjs_throw:0
    ()@/usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/dateMenu.js:212
in /var/log/gdm/:0-greeter.log and after few tries and errors I deduced the problem to a line in /etc/locale.conf
    export LC_TIME="ru_RU.UTF-8"
I commented it out and voi-la, gnome started as usual. Crazy, crazy day…
Now the question is still open. Have anybody ideas how could ever such thing stop GDM and Gnome from starting?! How could I return back my local date/time format?

My Aperture 2.1 has gone into a continual thumbnail mode.  I left the computer, a MacBook Pro, run all night, about 12 hours and it is still making thumbnails.  I tried reloading Aperture 2.1, but that did not change anything.  I have also turned the system off, for a period of time, and then turning it back on, when I click on Aperture, it comes up and locks in the thumbnail mode.  I can view my stored pictures, even modify them, but it still says thumbnails.
I got in this mode by trying to import "one jpeg photo", from a scanned slide using a Nikon Scan4 IS5000ED scanner.  I had saved the scan to my  desktop before I tried to import it.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

@I run a Windows 8.1 -  Photoshop CS5 under Parallels on an iMac one year old and both having the latest OS. I use a NIK plugin "VIVEZA" which run fine for years without a problem. Latelt and without a reason, the NIK plugin has gone corrupt, (can not use it more the 2 corrections after a get a black background message that there is not enough memory) and the system stops running and a must restart is required. How do I fix this terrible problem?
If it requires a Photoshop CS5 re-install, (I belief that it may fix the problem) and re-install the two third party plugins (NIK Viveza) and (Onone Perfect Resize) how and where do I get to the proper Adobe upload page to do that.
    I have tried to fix this problem by changing the memory allocations, I have spend many hours on it and are very disgusted with it but it needs to be fixed. The current memory settings are;
    Ram available = 1588 MB
    Range = 873 -1143 MB
Recommended Photoshop usage range =  857  however I have tried every setting to max and in between. Nothing works. Current setting = 1588 (max)
The Photoshop I use is registered, I have product # and order # .

Contact NIK for updated/upgraded versions of their plug-ins.  They have been having a lot of issues with their plug-ins.
