ATV and TC part 2

Ok, here is my hopeful setup. I am really looking for someone who has attempted this setup and can confirm or deny that this works. I currently have a TC 1TB and an Apple TV. I would like to store all of my movies on the TC and stream directly from there. From what I've read, you must have the computer that your ATV is synced to on in order to stream any media to the ATV. Is it not possible to remove the computer link with another Apple product? Obviously everything would be wireless and I do not wish to store anything on the ATV itself, just everything on the TC. All movie's are encoded via Handbrake and are on the ATV preset they have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

you cannot stream (or sync) direct from the TC. an itunes library is still required which is on your PC/laptop.
the TC is just an external HDD in terms of the itunes library. the itunes link is still required.

Sorry, I updated another thread I was a part of but didn't update my own thread.....ughhh!
I updated all of my ATV 2's and 3's to the latest firmware when it was released and have been problem free since. I do believe the major issue of not being able to connect after a period of inactivity has been corrected with the latest ATV firmware.
I can look at my network connection table using "netstat -an" in a CMD window and I do not see the massive number of connections I saw before the update.

After Update ATV Displays Only Part of Picture

After the new update- 12/2/2010 when I try to sync photos over Home Sharing and show them as a slideshow it shows only some of the picture- the rest of the image is grey like in the old days when you would only get part of an image on a slow modem.

Yes- I've tried deleting the itunes cache in the folder, moving photos to a new folder, tried 2 different computers, and toasted the ATV and it still happens.
Inputing a static IP and your apple ID just to view photos is a huge pain. Am I the only one who feels herded when using Apple products?

Firewall set correctly (allow incoming...)
When I click mirroring to turn it on, teh Apple TV screen goes blank (from its home setting)

I figured it out! It was a firewall issue.
I use Handsoff and I checked it before i wrote here. There was no "user defined rule" that denied the communication but when i changed to "All rules" the program displayed several rules regarding AppleTV and its IP.
So if anybody has the same problem make sure you see all rules of your firewall and get rid of the AppleTV related rules generated by the program itself. You dont need to update to the latest iOS on the AppleTV!
I hope that I can help some people with this info to fix the problem.

How do I get albums out of "compilations'? On one of my machined I can go to individual songs, "get info" and uncheck "part of a compilation", but that does not work on my office machine. I would also like to be able to do this in a group for an album,

I don't know how so much of my music got lost by being labled "compilations"? I would like to go back and catagorize it as it should be but the screens are gray and will not let me alter them as to the catagory I wish them to be in (or even the genere they are already labled? On my home machine I can (by individual song) "get info and uncheck "part of a compilation" and when this is finished the album goes to the genere as it is listed? Frustrating bit of hous keeping. The Get Info. fields show up gray if the files is locked and iTunes knows it can't edit the file. Make sure the files are not marked as read only and, if necessary grant both your account and system full access to all files and subfolders of your media folder.
You can set Part of a Compilation for multiple tracks from the Options tab of Get Info.

There's generally no reason to be closing them that way at all. The apps you see in the recents bar are just that, apps that you used recently. Most of them are doing absolutely nothing. The only apps that are really doing anything in the background are ones that play music and ones that are using location services. Just leave them be.

How can I extract high and low parts of a string that represents a 64bits decimal number?

I want to extract the high and low parts to interpret it and convert to binary code, but such a hugh number (represented by a string) isn't easy to extract from the string directly its high and low parts.

LabVIEW can't handle a 64-bit integer. You will have to store it as two 32-bit integers. If you need exact math on those 64-bit intergers you will have to make up your own routines to handle the carries and what not. If you just need pretty good accuracy, covert both 32-bit integers to double, multiply the upper 32-bit number by 2*32 (also a double) and then add the lower 32-bit number to it.

Purchased movie on ATV and it will not transfer to iTunes computer

A few days ago I purchased "The Blind Side" on my ATV. Watched it no problems. Recently I did however notice that my itunes was downloading the extras content. When I went to look for the movie in the library the only thing there was the extras. I looked on the ATV and the movie is still there. It is only listed on the ATV and not my iTunes computer.
After looking closer I discovered that several shows that I have subscriptions too were also ONLY on my ATV and were not transferring over to my iTunes library. Currently there are now 5 episodes of 2 TV shows on my ATV that are not in my iTunes library. I have tried to sync the ATV on several occasions. I have cycled the power on and off on all machines. Reconnected it to the router and more.
I am concerned about trying other options as I do not want the content to be erased from my ATV. Are there any recommendations?

The same thing has happened to me. I am making purchases only via itunes until this issue is resolved. I had to contact Apple Support to have them "reset" the downloads so I could download them directly into itunes. Please submit a feedback report to Apple so their engineers will become aware of this issue and fix it.

How to divide and load parts of Large Adobe AIR app for Android

Hi!
I want to create an app for Android but it will quite large. It will be larger than the 50MB offered by Google Play Store. This means that I need to find a way and break the app and load parts of it when I need them. Imagine it like minigames inside a bigger app.
It is not clear to me how to achieve this since every time on AIR, I can export and APK file for a mini-game let's say. Can I later download APKs and integrate them into my main app? How would this be possible? Another question that I have is: In order for a SWF to play on my app, it needs to be built by AIR for Android?
The best case would be to download content from In-App purchases and integrate in my app.
But these things are not so clear.

I don't know how your application is structured, but if you can split sections off into separate SWFs(plain AS3 document) then you could host those section SWFs online and require the user to download them on first run.
You could use the FileReference object to download the SWFs, save them to the File.applicationStorageDirectory, and then display/load them up with the Loader object when needed from the app storage directory. You would possibly need to check to see if the files are present at every boot of the app though as a user could "Clear Data" or "Clear Cache" of the app in the Settings of their device and one or both of those could/would delete the downloaded files.

How to Export Team Site Site Pages to .aspx and for subsequent upload to other Team Site and Web Part Customisation included. (Powershell)

Can i please technically know how to export an .aspx file (in Site Pages library of a team site) to local file?
Basically, SharePoint Designer has this feature "Export File"
i Need exactly the same feature that can be done in Powershell
I tried the following
$web = get-spweb "MY URL"
$folder = $web.GetFolder("SitePages")
$files = $folder.files
#trying to download the first file

The file exported via this method is Clean HTML without the Web Part Customisation!
I NEED the web part customisation in the exported files.

I tried using WebRequest, it returns the End HTML, which is not working too.
Please if anyone has done this? Or is there any SharePoint Designer Developer here and is willing to share how to perform the export in SharePoint Designer via Powershell? API available?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to export Team Site Site Pages to .aspx and for subsequent uploaded to other Team Site and Web Part Customisation included using Powershell.
You can export a specific file or object from the Export-SPWeb context.
Export-SPWeb -identity "http://sharepoint" -ItemUrl "/default.aspx" -Path "c:\default.aspx"
Import-SPWeb -identity "http://sharepoint" -Path "C:\default.aspx"

Obrigado por ter contactado as Comunidades de Suporte Apple.
Na origem do seu problema podem estar várias causas. Nomeadamente:
O ficheiro (arquivo) que está a ler pode não ser texto, ou seja, pode ser texto transformado em imagem e exportado como PDF.
A aplicação de destino (onde está a tentar colar o texto copiado) pode não aceitar a colagem de texto formatado.
A aplicação que está a utilizar para abrir os ficheiros PDF pode não ser indicada para certo tipo de documentos. Experimente o iBooks, o Dropbox ou até mesmo o seu e-mail.
No caso de nenhuma destas causas estar na origem do seu problema, forneça, por favor, mais informações sobre a origem do ficheiro (descarga pelo Safari, Mail ou outro) bem como o destino (documento Pages, Keynote ou Numbers ou outra aplicação que não o iWork).

Storing video on Time capsule and ATV and not on computer

I would like to build my video library and not store it on my IMAC 24 When I back it up and delete it I also loose it from ATV Then I have to restore to watch it Is there any way around this So much storage on the ATV and Time Capsule Why use the computer memory

I previously had my iTunes library on a network drive but moved to it an external drive connected directly to my iMac because streaming and file downloads were slower on the network drive due to the iTune's content management scheme. The short answer is, it will work regardless of whether or not you keep your library on your Time Capsule, your iMac or an external drive.

How can i put one part in front and one part in the back?

Alright i made this phone and a person and i want to put the bottom in front of his chin and the top behind the ear. How should i do this? Couldnt find anything in my classroom in a book, book.

The part in front and the part in back have to be two separate objects. Put a rectangle to completely cover the bottom part of the phone and let it mask the whole phone. Copy the clipping group (or duplicate its layer in the layers panel); on the copy, direct-select the end of the mask rectangle that doesn't bisect the phone and drag it the other way, so the rectangle now covers (and crops) the top half of the phone. If you do this on layers you need only make sure the phone-bottom is on the top layer, phone-top is on the bottom layer, and the person layer is between them.
