ATV not listed in Devices

I have updated to 3.0.1 and 9.0.2 but my ATV is not listed in the device section or the apple tv section of itunes. I can not sync and all of my content on the ATV is gone. Can anyone help?

When you unlink the library from the tv, the listing of the tv should disappear from preferences/Apple tv. If it doesn't you can delete it manually from the pref pane by using the 'Remove Apple tv' button, you shouldn't really need to do this and if you have to it may indicate an issue with the itunes preference file.
You can recreate your preferences by closing itunes, finding ~/library/preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist and moving it to the trash, after which open itunes which will then create a new preference file.

  • D-Link DSL-G624T firmware update has resolved ATV not appearing in Devices

I have managed to resolve the issue that many people seem to have regarding ATV not appearing in Devices by upgrading my D-Link ADSL router's firmware. If you are tearing your hair out and have the same model as me then I suggest you visit the D-Link site and try the latest update entitled V3.00B01T02.UK-A.20060621. I am no expert but wonder whether many of the stated issues relate to compatibility with router firmware and if so it may be worth updating it whatever your brand.

    HI WC,
I expected for you to the the 1st one taking a stab at this thanks for the help!
As I verified your question I looked at the clients connected to both the NG router and this is what the router is giving me. And of course the SNM is the same across the board.

    hi athirah11,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    Can you try the following:
    1. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices and check if the Bluetooth device is being listed.
    - Link to picture
    - Link to picture
    2. If the bluetooth device shows up under the Device Manager, do the following:
        a. Under Control Panel > Programs, uninstall the Bluetooth driver/software (reboot if necessary)
        b. Run the Bluetooth Driver Installer
         -  this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, the Bluetooth device and its components should now appear normally under the Device Manager.
If the bluetooth device still doesn't show up, can you provide the model number of your G470 (eg. 59xxxxxx) fur further checking.
Let me know how it goes.
    Regards

  • T430 NVidia GPU not listed in device manager

Hello -- I have a problem regarding the NVidia NVS 5400M inside the Thinkpad T430. I use Windows 8. I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but the NVidia card no longer shows up in Device Manager and the NVidia driver (both the standard driver from their website AND Lenovo's Optimus driver) refuses to install, complaining it can't find any compatible hardware. Device Manager does not list any graphics cards or unknown devices, and as far as Windows is concerned the NVidia card does not exist.
    Here's a summary of what I see:
In Discrete Graphics mode -- my Linux installation (which uses native NVidia drivers) works fine and uses the NVidia card. Windows 8 boots and runs with a generic graphics driver; there is a performance hit, and no graphics cards or unknown devices are listed in Device Manager. That's the problem I want to fix.
In Optimus mode -- Windows 8 boots and runs with the Intel integrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4000) which is listed in Device Manager. Again, no other graphics cards or unknown devices are listed.
I appreciate in advance any help towards getting the NVidia drivers installed successfully!

Yep, still doesn't appear that the NVidia drivers from that package are installing. If I boot in Optimus mode, only the Intel card is shown in Device Manager. I'd like to not have to use Optimus and just stay in Discrete Graphics mode if possible because Linux support for Optimus is not very good.
Would completely uninstalling all the drivers possibly help?
Before you go through that hassle, try the following:
    1. Go into the BIOS Configuration Display setting and change it to Discrete only.  If you see a setting just below display that talks about OS detection, disable that as well otherwise it will try to flip back to Optimus.  F10 to save and exit.
    2. Go back into the BIOS settings and verify the setting was really saved.  Exit the BIOS settings (discarding this time) and boot Windows normally.
    3. Go to C:\DRIVERS\WIN\VIDEO\NVIDIA and run setup.exe.  Use the Custom option for the mode after it does compat checks and asks for you to agree to the EULA.
    4. When you see the list of custom installation options, turn on the "Perform a clean installation" checkbox.  This should not present a problem if you don't have custom profiles.
    See if that works.

  • Iphone not listed as device

My ipad2 and iphone 4 are listed as devices even when they are not plugged into my macbook in itunes and can be synced remotely. I cannot seem to figure out why my iphone 5 will not show up the same way. It works fine when it is connected via USB. Any help would be appreciates!

To enable Wi-Fi synching, connect the phone to iTunes and click "Sync this iPhone over Wi-Fi" on the computer.

  • Phone not listed in devices wifi

both my phone and my computer are connected to my wifi, but the phone is not listed in my devices in iTunes unless I connect with the USB

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You will need to enable wifi syncing before the phone will show in iTunes without being connected by USB. You can find this setting under the heading 'Options' under the 'Summary' tab in iTunes, when the phone is connected via USB.

  • My playlist is not listed for device synch

I have a playlist on the left side of my iTunes schreen wil several audio items in it. However, when I click on my iPhone Sync Music section, the playlist is not listed. My other playlists are there. Any ideas why it is missing, and will not sycn with my iPhone?

    Hi,
In your contacts list (Address Book) your Contacts (for iMessages) should list either and Apple ID or their Phone Number complete with international Dailling code.
In the UK I contact my iPhone by it's number that starts +44
(or I use the Apple ID I use in Messages Beta  and set the Settings > Messages > Received At / Caller ID to the Apple ID)
FaceTime on the Mac (Included with Lion) works using an Apple ID
On the iPhone it tends to work with the Phone Number

  • ATV not shown in devices list and firewall port 3689

Having a nightmare with ATV. I have searched and found some help for some of the ATV problems I have had in other threads but seems that a couple of issues remain unsolved for most people.
I have just purchased an ATV updated it to latest software; at first had the Samsung TV HDMI problem which can be solved by telling the TV that the connection is a PC (seems to alter settings for that HDMI port on Samsung TVs).
All was well for 30 mins (kids got stuck in and started watching a film that was on my itunes library) then ATV lost connection to itunes media (still had network and internet for movie trailers). Tried various things reset ATV and quit itunes etc and got the firewall port 3689 error message in itunes.
Tried a variety of stuff to fix the 3689 issue including: fixing permissions on imac HD; re-installing itunes, adding port forwarding to my BT homehub, telling itunes to share my library, adding firewall rule in OSX for itunes. Then reset and tried again, this time it worked for several hours started to sync etc. Then paused ATV in middle of film and imac went into sleep mode....after this ATV stopped seeing itunes media and imac went into circle of death.
Since reboot of imac and reset of ATV nothing works; can't see ATV in itunes at all, tried all the normal reboot type stuff.
Starting to get frustrated ATV seems flakey expected this to be normal apple experience but so far I feel like I do at work in Microsoft **** where nothing makes sense and I'm rebooting all the time ...any ideas ...BT homehub is suspect but seems odd that it worked for hours then stopped !!

OK - rebooted BThomehub and forced ATV off network and back on and now itunes can see ATV and is syncing again.
The common failure on both previous occasions was pausing a film for few minutes and imac going into sleep mode on second time.
Anyone seen this before ... ?

  • External Drive not listed under Devices

    Hello,
I recently (within the last week) bought a WD MyBook Studio 500GB HDD and have been using it for my media storage. When downloading files, through a torrent client, I have it automatically save to my External, but today something weird happened. The external shows up on my desktop but not under "Devices" in the Finder. It DOES show up if i click my computer in Devices, so its listed as a subset of my computer instead of an extra device. My torrent client gives errors when trying to access the data on the external, so i have no idea whats going on. Video link at screencast is attached just for clarification. Running on Firewire 800. http://screencast.com/t/j3Nm4NtolKo

    Hi Tyler Cordell-
A lot of folks have problems with those drive and their Macs. This is not an unusual thing to have happen. My first advice is to return it if you can and get something different.
Can you see the drive in Disk Utility? If so, are you able to repair it?
    Luck-

  • EA6500 does not list AppleTV devices

I have an EA6500 and have three AppleTV... all three generations.l  I also have a DirecTV Genie and DirecTV HD-DVR that, together, provide whole-house viewing.  When I first setup the EA6400 based network, all three AppleTVs were listed and my whole-house viewing worked.  This past Saturday, however, that changed, when I couldn't see the programs recorded on the HD-DVR, from the Genie.  My troubleshooting determined one of the AppleTVs had been assigned the same address as the HD-DVR upstairs and that the HD-DVR wasn't listed as being connected.  Once I reset everything, the IPs resolved and the whole-house viewing was resolved, however, none of the AppleTVs are listed as connected, even though they are.  I can check the connections by the AppleTV device and see that they do, indeed, have an IP address, and I can view material from the iTunes cloud or stored on another PC in the local network.  I reset everything again, but to no avail.  No AppleTV devies show as connected from Smart Wi-Fi.  The AppeTVs are all wired to the LAN... not wireless.
So, the question is, is there a fix to get AppleTV devices to list?  All of my devices and router have the lastest firmware.  BTW, I had a WRT610N, which I'm now useing as an access point, didn't have this issue.

Correcting myself... my 3rd gen AppleTV is wired through a switch to the EA6500.  The other two AppeTVs are wirelessly connected.
Here's my config... (the only devices that don't show up are the AppleTVs but, they have IP addresses, are connected to the network, and they work)...

  • My iTunes does not list any devices when I plug in my new iPhone to the computer.  how do I get iTunes to recognize my new phone?

My old  iPhone died, so I just got a new one.  I am hooking it up to my computer for the first time.  The iTunes on my computer doesn't show any devices as being hooked up to the computer when I plug in my iPhone.  Yet my iPhone is charging so I know it is connected to the computer.  Any suggestions on how to get my iTunes to recognize the new device?  Thanks

Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem.
