ATV Not Syncing or Streaming Unchecked Items.....

I'm guessing that this just started since the latest software update, but maybe I'm just noticing it now.
I have tried the automatic sync and custom sync settings, but cannot get my unchecked items to appear on my ATV any more. They will not even stream when iTunes is open.
I am having NO other issues. I have an excellent connection. It syncs new content (checked of course). YouTube works great. No problems downloading HD rentals. Etc.
Any ideas? And yes, I have rebooted both my computer and ATV.

Huh? One of us is confused.
Think about it....if unchecked items will never show up on an Apple TV anyway, why do we need an option telling it not to show unchecked items?
And managing playlists over 30GB is far too difficult of a task. That's why iPods, in addition to playlists, give you the option to sync only checked items or all items checked or unchecked. Why shouldn't an ATV give us the same option?

ATV does not sync or stream.

Hi I`m running OS 10.6.4, ITUNES 9.2.1. Itunes library on external HDD. Brand new IMAC, bought 2 days ago. Just changed from my PC to a Mac. Decided to go clean and have a fresh start, so I just created a new library on my mac by adding my old movies and music files from my HDD to a new itunes library on my mac. Fine until here, the movies and music appear on my itunes. Went back to my ATV, broke the link with the old library, and reconnected with the new one. ATV appears perfectly on Itunes sidebar. But now, it doesn't sync or stream at all. I get sometimes the Port XXX msg, but I'm not able to configure it on this OS. pls I need help, as I´m also new to mac settings.

Trader, you have a lot of new stuff going on all at once. It might be worth going back to the simplest configuration and starting from there. Disconnect your external drive and build a simple iTunes library with a couple of songs and a movie on the iMac and try to sync it with the ATV. If that works, the problem most likely lies in the way you have set up iTunes. There are several post here about that, including one from Winston Churchill that takes you to tips on his web site (http://web.mac.com/gartside1104/ATV/Index.html). If it doesn't work, you'll have to try the advice here about iTunes 9.2 issues (and I can't help you there as I did not update from 9.1.1).

ATV not syncing all of movies

Just purchased new macbook 2 months ago and aTV; have installed all updates including new itunes update. Everything was working fine until yesterday turned on aTV and about 1/3 of movies in itunes not showing up in aTV and will not sync. Can't figure out why. All my movies are in the same format and were working great last week (syncing/streaming). I can add new movies to itunes and they will sync/stream just fine. I also click in itunes to create aTV movie on one movie that won't sync and it says it is allready in the aTV format. All my movies play in quicktime and itunes just fine. They all sync with ipod touch and play just fine.
Any help would be great.

could be a corrupted iTunes library file... (i.e. not the folder, but the text file that has all the info about the media in iTunes)
just to get it working.. sounds like you could just go to movies in iTunes do select all (Cmd + A)... press delete (when/if asked choose.. don't move to trash) and then select all your movies in the finder and drag them back into the iTunes window again... from what you've said this will likely work too.. might try deleting one and put it back and see if that works first.
or if you wanted to start from scratch... you could actually delete the iTunes library file (it's file in the iTunes folder that holds all the info about what is in iTunes).. remove all the content in iTunes go to movies, music etc and delete everything.. remember to choose not to move to trash. then add it all back (can just grab the containing folder (iTunes folder if that's where everything is) you can take the whole folder and drop it on the iTunes window don't need to select each file.. which would take forever) and you will have a fresh, iTunes Library file.
remember if you have things stored on different drives and you don't want them in the iTunes Folder press ctrl as you are dragging and they will not be copied into the iTunes library and just a reference to their location will be noted in the iTunes library.
[edit] to see the other checkbox just open up iTunes... click music or movies.. does't matter.. look at the list of any media an to the far left of the list are checkboxes... these turn off syncing to iPod and appleTV... maybe you just didn't notice them before? but just in any list of anything has this checkbox off to the far left of the list... there is a checkbox for each piece of media.

ATV Not Syncing Completely

The issue started last night. My ATV says its syncing in iTunes but none of the updates and recent additions to iTunes are showing up on the ATV. All of my old music, movies, tv shows and photos are available but that's it. It also shows ATV is syncing in the iTunes window for hours and hours...

I had a somewhat similar problem, except that it was with my streaming computer. (My syncing computer continued to work just fine because it was still running iTunes 9.)
After updating to iTunes 10, and after running fine for a couple of days, all of a sudden my "shared" lists were not reflecting anything more recent than April 2. So, I did the "disconnect" (as has been suggested as a cure). However, when I tried to reconnect, I could not get the ATV to show up under DEVICES in iTunes 10.

ATV Not Syncing again.

I reported a similar problem earlier about syncing issues with Apple TV. This was eventually resolved by doing a clean reinstall (Combo version of OS 10.6.3). This worked well for about 2 weeks.
However the recent software upgrades of OSX 10.6.4, iTunes 9.2, Safari 5 and iPhone iOS4. All of which was carried out in that order. Has left a similar problem is that the ATV shows up in iTunes>Devices however when it tries to sync I get an error message, referring to "Firewall settings". It also gives a Port Reference 49152 which I think is associated with Fast User switching whatever that means.

The only other upgrade I carried out recently was to iGlasses for use in iChat but I cant confirm if the sync issue was affected by this.
Can anyone explain how to see and set the individual firewall port settings in OSX 10.6 as this seems to be on an application only basis?

I have done some further investigation. The Apple TV was obviously recognised by iTunes as it shows in >Devices. However it did not automatically start sync when recognised. When starting Sync from Button or by Menu it did not sync and I received the error report.
Despite being unable set Port settings in the Sharing>Firewall folder. I decided to delete and reselect only the Applications required.
This removed the AppleVNCserver set list in original question above.
My Firewall settings are now.
+Mode: Limit incoming connections to specific services and applications+
Services:
+Apple Remote Desktop: Allow all connections+
+File Sharing (AFP): Allow all connections+
+Printer Sharing: Allow all connections+
+Remote Login (SSH): Allow all connections+
Applications:

This has resolved the syncing issue for the time being. But I will monitor it for the next couple of days to ensure it is a permanent fix.

ATV not Sync'ing Photos

I have an ATV and I have been able to sync my music, movies and TV Shows with my iTunes on my PC. The photos also sync with my iTouch and iPhone but will not sync with my ATV. Any suggestions?

They all are .jpg's and are stored in My Pictures folder on my PC's HD. I have created the following hierarchy within My Pictures: My Pictures -> Year -> Month and then I have all the pictures for that month. I don't believe that any tags have been added to them that would cause any issues because they sync fine with my iTouch and iPhone. When I sync with my ATV and iTunes, iTunes just sits there for as long as I will let it trying to sync my photos with my ATV.

My iPad will not sync photo stream from iPhone

My iPad ios7 will not sync my photo stream. It only received 1/4 of my photos. My iPhone ios6 has the correct photo stream. Tried Turing off photo stream on iPad, afraid to turn off photo stream on iPhone as I may lose data. I know the photo stream limit is 1000 so I keep it at 900. iPad is fully updated. iPhone all apps are fully updated. Same Apple ID is signed in across 2 devices for iCloud. Both are backed up on same wifi. Loading iTunes just to back up photo stream seems silly but maybe forced to. Thank you.

ICloud pictures not syncing - Shared streams will; camera roll will not

Ever since I got my new iPhone 5c my Camera Roll will not sync with my computer. The shared streams will sync, the pictures will sync with my other devices just not the computer.
I have tried untinstalling the icloud from the computer and reinstalling, I have signed out and back in on both the computer and iPhone, I just cant figure it out.
Has anyone else had this happen?
PLEASE HELP!!

Similar issues, although maybe not quite as catastrophically bad. I've got a Mac Mini, an iMac, and an MBA, all running Yosemite, an iPhone 6, and an iPad 3 (both iOS devices are running iOS 8). The iOS devices seem to sync okay with changes made on the Mini, and vice versa, but the iMac doesn't seem to be syncing at all with the other devices, nor does the MBA. Based on the original post, I'm not going to bother calling Apple and spending an entire workday trying everything short of replacing the main logic board to try to figure out the problem.
What's particularly annoying is that Yosemite just went through an extended beta period. Unfortunately, there was no equivalent beta program for iOS 8, so there were probably plenty of areas where Apple simply did not do sufficient QC in an area where things need to work flawlessly: file management. Some of the files I keep on iCloud are hundreds of pages long, and the notion that they may become lost or corrupted gives me chills. Apple advertises iCloud Drive as a way to safely and reliably work on your files on multiple devices. So far, it is neither.

Deleted Items on my iPhone are not syncing with my deleted items in Outlook

Prior to OS 3.0 whenever I deleted an item on my iPhone and then deleted it from the trash it would sync and do the same on my pc. I am using Outlook Exchange.
My inbox, outbox and sent mail are all syncing. Just not the trash.
My trash is showing as empty on iPhone and full on Outlook.

i figured it out.... before syncing your phone to your macbook or whatever:
-go into settings
-select icloud
-go to calendars
-change the selector from ON to OFF
-sync phone to computer
-ical syncing with phone will now work like it did before iOS5 and iCloud, but in a good way

ATV not syncing any movies

For reasons unknown, when I sync my ATV all goes well except my movies won't sync. If I use the tick box for selected movies, then tick the ones I want and choose "APPLY" all I get is a quick sync and no movies transfered. If I use the tick box for "ALL" and choose "APPLY", ATV syncs only one (and always the same) movie and none of the others. BTW, that one movie is not ticked on my list.
TV shows etc. all sync properly. I have Factory re–set the ATV twice, as well as re–installed the 2.0 firmware and restarted my iMac.
Also, because of the fac reset, I lost 2 rental movies that I had not watched yet. How do I get them back w/o paying again?

Contact iTunes store support and explain to them what happened. They may be willing to authorize you to download them again or give you credits that you can use to rent them again.
Also, I'm not sure what kind of movies you're having trouble syncing, but rental movies don't sync like other content does. You can use iTunes to move a rental movie between iTunes, an ATV or an iPod/iPhone, but a rental movie can only be on one device at a time, and you can't move it once you've started watching it (it may get deleted if you try).

HT3819 iOS devices will not sync Photo stream

I have 1,000+ photos in photostream on my iphone 5s; of those only 629 appear in photostream on my ipad4 and only 50 show in our newly acquired Appletv. All iOS devices are connected to the same home wifi. What's going on? Is there anyway to force all three devices to sync all the photos? Sometimes I've read it may take a day or two, but in this case it has been over 2 weeks. Much appreciated!

Apple TV is accessing the most up to date stream, which only has photos from the past 30 days.

Photos not syncing to stream from 4s to iPad 1st gen

I have an iPhone 4s 16gb and an iPad 1st gen 64gb. I'm currently travelling (so no access to my laptop) and trying to sync all photos from my phone to my iPad so I don't lose them when I get a new phone. Most have synced successfully but some older photos don't appear on my iPad at all? I don't want to lose these photos and can't think of a way to get them from my phone to my iPad!
Also, any suggestions how to store the videos from my iPhone as I read somewhere that iPad 1st gen isn't compatible with videos from a 4s?
Lots of travelling memories I don't want to lose!

Unwatched items not syncing with Apple TV (1st Gen)

Hopefully someone can help me?...
I have a 1st Gen Apple TV, Windows 7 64bit, and iTunes 11 (wishing I'd never upgraded now!)
I have it set up to Custom Sync (FILMS: Automatically include 'all unwatched' films with selected films. TV PROGRAMMES: Automatically include 'all unwatched' episodes of 'all programmes'. And not to sync anything else.)
Before, in version 10, if you made the slightest of changes (even marking something as watched then as unwatched) you could press the Apply or Sync button.
But now when I add a new Film or TV Show, or mark one as unwatched, I cannot sync it to my Apple TV.
iTunes marks it as New/Unwatched but the Apply button stays greyed out and I cannot Sync.
Any ideas welcome.

I have a similar problem. ATV1 (3.0.2), itunes 10, connected via wireless time machine (hardwired to router) + airport express wireless extender. ATV showing in itunes menu. All TV shows, movies, music etc showing on ATV (not sync'd) EXCEPT 4 episodes of one TV show that was purchased as a series on iTunes (not on the ATV).
I have also had the firewall error - intermittently.
Have rebooted iMac. Have factory reset ATV and re-set up. Tried just sync'ing the 4 episodes I want to watch. No luck. Tried marking episodes as watched. No luck. rebooted everything. Twice.
ATV1 accesses all other info on iTunes (music, movies etc).
Infuriating.
Any ideas?

My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped. Both computers are x64 bit.
Problems I am experiencing
A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream. An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.

Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5. I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device. I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating. I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
