ATV2 No Longer able to Sync with iTunes Library

My ATV2 has been working just fine for weeks. I've watched a lot of content from my iTunes library on my iMac. I started up the ATV2 to watch a show and the interface was all garbage. It displayed blurred garbage of some of the movie/show icons at the bottom of the screen and reported that the Apple Store was not available to try again later. It then let me navigate, but the interface was still messed up. Part of the far right section of the display was on the left side of the screen. I finally unplugged it and plugged it back in and the interface was fine. It also appeared to be showing content from the Apple Store. I proceed to watch my show from my library, and it will not sync. It appears to but none of the content images show scrolling on the left side of the interface. Selecting a content category results in it displaying a message that it is "Loading...", but it never loads. I've restarted both devices, turned off and back on Sharing on both devices, recycled my Internet connection, but nothing seems to work. The ATV2 appears to be dead as far as syncing with my iTunes library now.

This just happened to me. Lost all my info on my phone but when I logged onto my laptop it showed all info was still in my calendars. If this is the same for you need to go to your settings, then go to mail, contact, calendar, then go to add account, then other, add CalDAV account.. You will have 4 things to fill out put Yahoo (server name) put your  yahoo email and password and the description as yahoo... When you hit save will change the server name on it's own to CalDAV.calendar.yahoo.ca..... Once this goes threw all your info should come back to your calendar. This is what I did and it worked. Hope this helps.......

  • IPhone 4s no longer able to sync with iTunes

My iPhone 4s seems to be going through the motions of synchronising and I haven't had any synch issues prior to now but I can no longer transfer files to the phone.  iTunes is showing my phone and contents in the sidebar but every time I try to synch a digital movie download (from Paramount and specifically downloaded for iTunes to and to play on all Apple devices) and a music track ripped from one of my cd's I receive a notification with either 'iPhone locked' or 'not recognised.' I have tried sending the files both via iTunes and My Document files and also synchronising from the phone itself. I have also un-authorised and re-authorised my laptop but am now at a loss as what else to try I have tried searching the communities but have been unsuccessful so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

I also had this issue since updating to iTunes 12.  My phone was not showing up in "devices" at all, yet it was syncing to iPhoto just fine.  What ended up fixing the issue for me was turning both my phone and computer off and back on again, and unplugging any other USB devices so that only my phone was the one connected.  It then synced just fine.
FYI, I am running iOS 7.1.2 on an iPhone 5

  • Iphone 5 no longer able to sync to itunes...HELP!!!!

Hey guys, I have tried numerous atempts to getting my iPhone 5 to be able to sync with my MacBook Pro but to no avail. It seems as though this all started after updating to the new OSX Yosemite as well as updating to the new iTunes 12.0.1. Whenever I connect my iPhone 5 to my laptop, no matter what it is not showing up in my devices or being recognized. I have tried different cables, reset my iPhone, restarted everything, etc etc etc. It's not being recognized at all and everything under devices is grayed out in iTunes even when the phone is plugged in via usb. I'm not even able to sync wirelessly anymore. PLEASE HELP!!!! This is driving me insane! I have always been a strong supporter for Apple and have never had any issues in the 10+ years I've been an Apple user so this is quite disheartening.... Thank You!

  • Iphone 3g not able to Sync with Itunes

    Hello,
I have iphone 3g with OS 2.2.1 and itunes 8.1
I m not able to sync with i tunes.
Whenever i connect phone, Itunes get hung .
    Sometimes it displays foll message:
Itunes was unbale to connect iphone because it recieved an invalid response.
If i restart and connect it gives
Unable to Load Dataclas information for the iphone.Try reconnecting.
    I did every thing
De-install,Re-install each and every thing based on suggestions at various places, still no use.
Even tried Syncing with Other OS XP , same problem-> Itunes gets hanged.
Im absolutely clueless about whats happened.
Somehow i was able to update the OS to 2.2.1 .
Dont know where the problem is....
Can any problem with Hardware lead to Such error..If yes..What are the probable hardware reasone...
Software wise i dont think anything is left unchecked, still any suggestions, help welcome..
Im really in need to sort this out as cant sync anything..the phone is blank wiht complete HDD free....No use.....
    Please Please Please Help..!!!!!!!!!

As I read you updated your iPhone to 2.2.1. That means that maybe this cause the problem.
Sometimes when I connect my iPhone to iTunes I saw the message what says that "iTunes was unable to connect to the iPhone... " but if I reconnect my iPhone then iTunes recognize my phone and everything is OK.
If the reconnecting does not help you then I advise that reset your iPhone with 'Erase All Data and Settings'. Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Data and Settings.
If you reset your iPhone with 'Erase All Data and Settings' then your iPhone will delete your files and also the 2.2.1 software update and after that it will run with the original software what you bought with it.
The reset takes approximately 2 hours. And this is delete everything from your iPhone.
So, as it seems you can't back up your iPhone, that means everything what is on your iPhone will be deleted except if you don't have them on your computer.
After you reseted your iPhone, try to connect with iTunes. If it won't works then try it on an another Mac or PC and if you can't sync your iPhone at all, you have to take your iPhone to your carrier for a service.
Important note: After you reseted your iPhone, it will please that connect to iTunes to activate the phone. If you can't connect to iTunes your phone, you won't be able to use it!
As you know, without activating you can't use the iPhone.
If you can do the activation then you probably will be able to sync it.
If you can't be without mobile phone and just the iPhone what you've then don't do that until you maybe could miss your phone (I mean if you iPhone have to be serviced).

  • ITunes no longer able to sync with Outlook

    Hello,
This is my first ever post on any forum so please go easy on me.
I have an iPhone 4s, and iPad1 and run Windows7. I recently tried using iCloud but didn't like the Outlook calendar (appearance or speed) so wanted to go back to just syncing via my USB cable.
I have followed all steps on here, restoring the iPhone, removing and reinstalling iTunes completely (5 times now) and my phone and iPad will no longer sync, they just sit in never land at either backing up calendar or contacts (I have tried leaving them on for hours at a time). I have now lost my calendar and all of the music off the iPhone so hoping for a solution.
I have heard iTunes no longer supports syncing via iTunes, they want you to use iCloud but can't find anything definitive on this but it would explain why I can't get this to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel like I have tried everything.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using Google's sync services that are free yet? It sounds to me like you are not using Exchange for your iPhone with work. So, that would leave it open to use with Google. Keep your Google sync with your work calendar (Outlook), then sync up the Google Calendar with iCal so you have the calendar at home. Separately, setup your iPhone to sync real-time with your Google Calendar using the Microsoft Exchange settings. If all you are trying to do is get your one calendar to be the same everywhere, that will do it and it's all free. Here are links to instructions:

  • Iphone takes LONG time to sync with iTunes?

    Hi all,
I have and Iphone 3G with 8GB pretty much stuffed, I have only 200MB free and 1000 audio, 50 podcast video, 60 photo and TONS of apps..
I just check how long it would take to sync with my PC yeasterday... 10 hours... is that normal for a backup and sync? how can I speed up the process?
    thanks

I'm having the same problem. It's definitely the backup portion. I located my backup folder, and it had over 20k files! I tried deleting the folder and backing up again, and have yet to complete a full backup (they're just too long - I'm constantly having to stop the process to take the phone with me). The latest one was 2 hours and only half done (with 8k files in the folder). I did have facebook and linkedin on the phone, so I've removed those and restarted the backup. It doesn't seem much different so far, but I think I may leave it overnight to see what happens. Could it be that the files (like caches or whatever) used by facebook and linkedin are still on the iphone even w/o the apps? How can I clean up my iphone w/o resetting it completely (I don't want to lose the data on there and I don't currently have a complete backup - though maybe after tonight I will).
Any other apps you know of that have this issue? I can't believe Apple just lets this type of sloppy file management occur.

  • WSUS errors - no longer able to sync with MS

Our environment is SCCM 2012 R2 CU1.  We have a primary site server with local SQL (2012) on a Windows 2012 R2 server.  We also have WSUS and the SUP on this server as well.
Permissions were changed on the C:\Program Files\Update Services folder.  TrustedInstaller was the owner.  This was changed, which in turn "broke" WSUS.  The permission was restored back to TrustedInstaller.  Unfortunately,
there were other permission changes as well.  Subfolders under the C:\Program Files\Update Services have domain\Domain Admins as the owner.
Due to these changes, I can no longer sync with MS for updates.  There are also multiple errors for the SMS_WSUS_CONFIGURATION_MANAGER, SMS_WSUS_CONTROL_MANAGER and the SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER.
In the wcm.log file, the errors are:

The SUP WSUS configuration is set to use ports 8530/8531.  We do not have "Require SSL communication to the WSUS server" selected.
We do have both "Use a proxy server when synchronizing software updates" and "Use a proxy server when downloading content by using automatic deployment rules" selected.
We do not use a WSUS connection account.
If I open the WSUS console, I cannot connect to the server at all.
In IIS, under the WSUS Administration site, the bindings are set to http-8530, https-8531.  Authentication for the site has the "Anonymous Authentication" enabled.
I'm trying to restore the permissions and get WSUS working again without having to un-and re-install.
Is there a document which outlines the permissions needed for the C:\Program Files\Update Services folder(s)?

Unfortunately, what I've found is that you cannot remove WSUS and leave the DB (at least in Server 2012 R2).
So the only option is backup the SUSDB, remove WSUS and the DB, reinstall with a new DB, then restore/replace with the "original" SUSDB.

  • IPad Not able to sync with iTunes on my Mac

I just bought a new Ipad Yesterday. When I plugged it into my computer to sync with my iTunes- It said i couldnt run it beacuse I needed 10.7 or higher. But my iTunes says its running current version, and are no updates..?? Help..

In iTunes pull down the iTuness menu and select About iTunes. Post back here what the version number is. Also tell us what version of OS X your computer is running. An iPad requires a minimum of OS X 10.6.8.

  • Syncing with iTunes library [2 devices, l library]

Both my husband and I sync his and my iPads with my iTunes library and they have different names and separate backup names etc. But a few weeks ago I changed out the harddrive in the computer and now the iTunes Library is [ostensibly] a different one, so that you get all those warning notices about how you can't sync with 2 libraries and you'll wipe off the data etc.
My thought was to [1] transfer purchases from his iPad to the library and [2] back up to that library so there was a backup of his iPad associated with the library and then do the updating to iOS5 and syncing etc. = in essence replace the old Library with the new Library - even tho they are actually identical but the user name on the drive is a tad different.
Is that the right way to go - or is there a place I can go to find the old backup for his ipad from the old drive [I have it attached and also have TimeMachine backup as well] and move it into wherever it goes in the new library - the old drive is still under Snow Leopard and I'm at 10.7.2 on the new drive.
Any suggestions = I'm sure he doesn't wan to lose anythign on his iPad in this process so I want to be able to have him safely backed up to the new library and then use it as the new home.
    thanks

Just an update = we are trying to get his iPad up to iOS5 so the Q is whether to do the steps in a particular order = if we transfer then back up then upgrade to iOS5 and then restore from backup will that work???

  • Why doesn't my iphone5 sync with itunes library?

Having trouble syncing my iphone5 with my itunes library. What is the problem?

If you've had the OS reinstalled on the computer then it's likely that it will be being seen as a a different computer.
See if the instructions on this page work : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
If you want to copy your content back from the phone then you should be able to copy iTunes purchases back via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases
For non-iTunes purchases (e.g. music copied from CDs), and if you haven't got it on your backup of your library, then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy it back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
(I've asked for your post to be moved to the Using iPhone forum, where you've posted is for questions about the iTunes app.)

  • How to change syncing with Itunes library with another computer?

How can I get reed of the sync with my MacPro, and sync my iPhone with my MacBookPro?
I was syncing everything so far manually.
I would like to keep all my app's in iphone (their data, settings) unchanged.
Both of my computers use the same itunes account, but I want to use MacPro strictly for my audioproductions and basically want to "de-sync" it with iPhone.
    please help,
    Nenad

    Thank you roaminggnome,
plug it in MacBookPro and sync it? I did try that and it does sync, but if I want to sync App's (with MBP) it will warned me that content of iphone will be replaced, and only thing I am concerned are the apps and all the data that has been saved with it.
Move everything from mac pro means ALL the music,photos...?

  • Reinstalled OS, now iPhone won't sync with iTunes library

    Hi all,
I recently had to reinstall Tiger on my iMac G5 because Leopard kept crashing it. The iMac is where I have all of my photos and music (I use Leopard on my macbook but I don't have the media on there). When I try to sync my iPhone now, iTunes tells me that this iPhone is registered to a different library and if I want to sync it with this library, I need to erase everything on the iPhone. I do not wish to do this, so I have two questions...
    1. Is it possible to back-up EVERYTHING (notes, web apps, photos not taken with the iphone camera, ringtones, etc) onto my computer so that I CAN do an erase and install?
    2. Is there a way to get the library and the phone to recognize each other as having the same owner as they did before so I can just sync the two and not erase anything?
    Thanks!
    Lisa

The recently installed os replaced the iphone settings in itunes so when you connect the iphone to the computer now, itunes has no record of it being previously connected.
So, the only way to sync it to the computer now is to let it erase and re-sync.
    Hope this helps.

  • Iphone 5 will not sync with itunes library

I recently got an iphone 5 and it will not sync with  my tunes library.  How do i get itunes 10.7 on iphone?

No, I believe it probably said you need to install iTunes 10.7 to SYNC the iphone 5. What version of iTunes do you have now? Check that by going to Help, About iTunes. If it is not iTunes 10.7, then go to Help, Check for Updates, and download 10.7. After that installs you can sync the iPhone.

  • Ipod nano does not sync with itunes library, ipod nano does not sync with itunes library

bought an ipod nano, upgraded Itunes to version 11 running on Windows 8.
My nano is set  up with a different apple ID than my main account, but it won't sync with my Itunes Library, When I plug it in via USB, the IPOD nano icon shows up in Itunes, but when I do File>Devices>Sync,  the Snyc is grayed out.
does the differenct apple ID on the nano have anything to do with the fact that it is different from my Itunes Apple ID, is that causing a problem? Most of the music in my library is uploads from CDs I had already owned, not Itunes purchases.
    Solutions?

Automatic syncing is set up on the iPod's Music tab in iTunes, which is where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits on iPod.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example (if you want to keep it simple), you can create a new playlist in iTunes and add all songs you want on the iPod to that playlist.  Back on the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.  There are many ways to set it up...
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs syncs to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create that playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs) whenever you want, and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.
