Atv2 won't move beyond Library heading - but pc does!

Usual new Appletv, connected to two MacBooks; both show up under 'computers' but selecting them just loads library - repeatedly!
Bafflingly, the relevant MacBook /does/ respond to the Appletv remote....
How can I get my music/films to show up on my TV?
And, while I'm being pathetic, how do I connect the iPad to Appletv?
Help very much appreciated!

you mean TV shows +loading library+ but the library is actually not loaded ?

system preferences > security > general. put a tick in the box next to +disable remote control infrared sensor+
And, while I'm being pathetic, how do I connect the iPad to Appletv?
have you enabled +home sharing+ on the iPad ?

My iPod won't show up in iTunes, but it does in My Pc. And I want to say that is not an iTunes problen, cause I have an iPod nano, and it works perfect with iTunes and with windows. I need to restore my iPod but I can't cause doesn't appear in the source list in iTunes. Do I have to send it to Technical Support? You can try putting it into disk mode to see if it makes it easier on iTunes to recognize it.
To put your iPod into disk mode:
1) make sure your hold switch is OFF (NO ORANGE SHOWING)
2) hold the menu button and the center button at the same time for about 6-10 seconds until you see an apple logo
3) AS SOON AS you see the apple logo, release the two buttons and hold down center and play/pause
4) If you've done this properly you should now see Disk Mode Ok To Disconnect with a checkmark (when connected to your computer you should see Do Not Disconnect with Disk Mode at the top)
After you have the iPod in disk mode...see if iTunes picks it up then.

IPhone stuck - won't move beyond the Apple logo

I just downloaded the latest iPhone update and while it was syncing with my phone, it froze, then I got a message from iTunes saying it couldn't connect to my iPhone. I disconnected and reconnected, and it has said it's synced, but my iPhone won't start now. It turns on, but never moves beyond the Apple logo. Underneath the apple, there's a white bar, as if something is trying to update or download, but nothing ever happens. It just stays stuck there. To restart it, I have to press both the power and home button. I've tried restarting about 5 times, and it does the same each time. I've tried syncing with iTunes again, and still nothing happens.
Has this happened to anybody else before? If so, how did you resolve it?

FIXED! OK guys, this is what I did.
I just took it to the Apple store and they fixed it for me.
I know you were all waiting for a solution that you could do yourself but there wasn't one that I could figure out.
My problem once again:
iTouch 1st Gen with first OS.
Upgraded OS to 3.1.2
Then got hung up on white apple logo with white bar beneath it.
When I took it to the Apple store, they said that the downloaded OS might have been corrupt or not downloaded properly/completely.
So they re-installed the OS for me. Then I was able to go home and sync it with my iTunes without losing anything!
They got some computers and software at the Apple store that I don't think you can get anywhere. Diagnostics stuff. That's why it's better to just let them fix it. They didn't charge me anything for it either.

Network won't load; states 'Loading Network', but never does. Help.

After returning home after a house refubishment, had to get TalkTalk engineers to reconnect me. Now have internet and Fibre Optic access. But, as above, when I click on the Network icon, it keeps saying: Loading Network ...' But never does. Therefore, it something goes wrong again, I can't access the network. Help. Ps, have a macbook pro. I am not very computer savvy. I have Airport, but don't know if its called anything else.

If I Move iPhoto Library to External Drive Does It Keep Organized?

Can anyone tell me:
In iPhoto 09 8.2.1 if I take the time to organize, edit, "faces" "events" etc...and I move iPhoto to an External Harddrive, a Western Digital "My Book"...Does moved library stay edited, organized face tagged, etc?

I thought you were buying a new drive to use with iPhoto. If there are already documents on the drive, you need to copy them temporarily somewhere else. Reformatting will erase a drive completely.
Disk Utility (it is in the "Utilities" folder in "Applications") will show you, if your drive needs formatting.
The left pane shows your disks and disk partitions, and the right pane lets you do useful things, like reformatting and repairing your drive.
If you select the drive in the left panel, you see the formatting in the footer of the panel.
Is your drive correctly formatted?

Can't see movie on Apple TV, but iTunes does - why?

I have MANY movies on iTunes, and with a couple of exceptions, am able to view them all on TV via Apple TV. The exceptions are movies that look great on my mac, but do not show up on the movie list via the Apple TV. I have deleted them and moved them to the trash and then rebuilt them and I have done a logical but not physical delete and re-added them to the library - all to no avail. They refuse to show up. One of them is a middle disc of a set of disks, the rest of which worked just fine. Suggestions?

iPod Nano: Multiple Users- Single iTunes

I put my mac pro to share with my mac desktop. Iphoto was upgraded from 8.2.1 and I can no longer access iphoto on the mac book pro. I have tried library manager but that does not work. Any suggestions?

I get an error message You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. The only option is for me to quit. I have tried to restore with no luck. when you opened the shared library with the newer version of iPhoto (iPhoto '11) you were given a warning that your library would be converted and could not be used by older versions - you clicked ok to go ahead - there is no updo available - either upgrade to iphoto '11 of the MBP or load your backup of the iPhoto '09 library on it - older versiopns of i{Photo can not read newer libraries

ITunes won't read my iPod Classic, but Windows does; tried many solutions!

I wasn't sure whether this post belonged in the iPod forum or the iTunes forum as the matter concerns both, so I decided to post in both forums. My apologies if this is 'spammy'. (iPod forum is a little old anyway).
I just dug up my 6 year old iPod Classic from the grave and would like to start using it again as my HTC's headphone jack is extremely faulty lately. My iPod Classic is completely empty - I have no music, no photos, nor videos on it.
My problem is that on my Windows 8 Laptop, Windows is able to read the iPod, however, iTunes cannot. I went over to the Support page and tried almost every recommended solution out there, and nothing seems to work.
I have:
Tried different USB ports
Performed a Restore/Recovery after selecting 'Format' from Windows ExplorerIt is interesting to note that, whilst iTunes doesn't read the iPod normally, it did show up in the button (Spotlight button?) next to the iTunes button when performing a Restore
Uninstalled and Reinstalled every Apple application and program from my Laptop, including iTunes, Mobile Support, Bonjour, and more, and also, deleting any remaining folders related to Apple.
I have tried alternatives to iTunes such as CopyTrans and Syncios, but all seem to fail.
Troubleshooted my iPod various times
Restarted any Apple related Service as well as any Processes from Task Manager
Searched for Updates on Device manager -> Apple Driver and everything is up to date
It's worth pointing out that:
When opening the iPod folder in Windows Explorer (after enabling Hidden Folders), inside the 'iPod_Control' folder, there is no 'Music' folder; not sure if this is intentional or simply because there is no music file on my iPod.
The Software Version (which displays prior selecting 'Restore') is 2.0.1. If this is outdated, the option to Update Software is greyed out and unavailable.
My iTunes is up to date.
iTunes does tend to freeze up when attempting to read the device, but is perfectly fine after a while, it just does not display the device (implying it must have failed to detect it).
It is the first time using iTunes on this laptop (laptop is 4 months old), and has never had an Apple Device connected to it before.
iPod and iTunes used to work fine 6 years ago on a different PC which is no longer at me.
If anyone could shed some light on this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. Please do not hesitate for any further information related to both iPod or Laptop.

I heard that a large number of Reallocs is bad; not sure if 56 qualifies as a large number. Would this somehow interfere with iTunes not being able to read the iPod?
EDIT: Your instructions say to attempt another Diagnostics after updating however my iPod will not update past 2.0.1 (I believe that is the last update that came out for iPod Classics), unless you'd like me to recover/restore it and then try again.

Bottom of trackpad won't move the cursor

I restarted my macbook pro (purchased in Jan, 2011 brand new) after the cursor started jumping around uncontrollably. After startup the bottom of the trackpad won't move the cursor anymore but still functions as a button...any idea how i can restore movement?

Are you talking about maybe 1/8" to 1/4" on the very edge closest to you? I think that is normal.

How did you "move everything" over?
Migration assistance does not handle the iPhoto library well sometimes - the best way is to drag the bad iphoto library from the pictures folder on the new system to the desktop, connect the two systems together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old system to the pictures folder of the new system and launch iPhoto on the new system - it will open and convert the iPhoto library as necessary and you will be fine - once you test the iPhoto library you can delete the one on the desktop

Trying move iPhoto library, won't copy to new home

So I'm trying to move my iPhoto library from a newer MacBook Pro to an older Macbook, where there is more space for it, using an external hard drive.
When I try to copy the library from the hard drive to the Macbook, I get a 'not enough space' error, even though there is more than enough space on that Macbook.
From reading up in this forum I thought it might be a permissions issue. This seems to be confirmed bc now when I open iPhoto on the Macbook, I get an error saying 'Unable to write to library "iPhoto Library". Check you have permission to write to the library directory.'. (This didn't happen the first time I opened the library on the MacBook, which I did once the original copy request didn't work.)
When looking at the permissions under 'Get Info' it had my user profile on the MacBook as being able to read and write, and 'staff' and 'everyone' as read only. When I tried to change the permissions to read and write for 'everyone', I got an 'unexpected error has occured' BUT now it is showing that 'everyone' has read and write access.
I just want to have my iPhoto library (which is large, approx. 192 GB) on the MacBook and be able to use it the same way I was using it where it was before. Was I supposed to do something to the permissions before I moved the library onto the external hard drive from the MacBook Pro? Is there something I can do to get the library onto my Macbook despite the 'not enough space' error and resolve the permissions issue?
The external hard drive is formatted as Mac OS extended (journaled) and so is the MacBook's hard drive. I've tried the rebuild etc feature in iPhoto but it won't work because iPhoto says I don't have permission. I've also tried deleting the iPhotolock.data file as suggested in some similar questions in this community, but that didn't help, and tried to rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager, but that doesn't work because it can't open the iPhoto library due to the permissions error.
I've backed up both machines (2013 MacBook Pro which was the iPhoto library's original home, and an older MacBook (circa 2009) to which I'm trying to move the library) using Time Machine so they reflect the machines prior to moving the iPhoto library off the MacBook Pro). Both are running Mavericks and iPhoto 11.
