AU effects plugins passed validation but not appearing in AU list
I have two au plugins that are not available to me for selection as inserts despite the fact that they are successful validations. The are IK's CSR and King Dubby: no problems with 10 others that have installed OK, such as UAD, Nomad Factory, Ohm Force, etc. Strange thing is that when I loaded and old arrangement that contained CSR, it was avalable (that was how I managed to authorize) but when i attempted to create a blank template by stripping all the settings in the old arrangement to create a 'blank' arrangement to use as a starting point, the CSR and King Dubby are no longer available from the au drop down list. So: they are there but not there...any ideas? I have tried all sorts of variations with rescanning au validation, repairing permissions, rebooting...to no avail...any insight would be appreciated. Having saif all this...I do love the new Pro 8
Some plugins have different input requirements.
For example, blockfish only has stereo inputs, so if you call up the plugin list on a mono, it's not there, but is there for stereo channels.
(Of course, Logic has a solution for this by option-clicking the plugin list to force stereo-only plugs no mon channels etc in the usual Logic way...)
But see whether those plugs are in the listing depending on whether it's a mono or stereo channel...

The TouchID settings will not be available until you create a passcode, see the article linked below for more information.

You can set up Touch ID in iOS Setup Assistant or by tapping Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. To set up Touch ID, you must first set a passcode. Touch ID is designed to minimize the input of your passcode, but you need a passcode for additional security validation, such as enrolling new fingerprints.

i added 3 contacts and saved on my iphone 5, but do not appear on my list of contacts. the names appear when they text or call me. I have to go search for their messages when i need to call them?
Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty

I downloaded the ebates shopping toolbar and wish to remove it but it does not appear in my list of add ons or plug ins. I have just now downloaded the newest version of Firefox.
I am not able to remove the ebates tool bar because it does not appear when i go to tools then addons or extentions or plugins. Where is it?

Cross Reference Sources appearing in Story Editor view but not appearing in the Cross Ref pane
I have imported a Word document containing working cross references into an InDesign document. The vast majority of these cross references import correctly and link to their destinations within the document, however there are some that are not working. If I view the text frame in the story editor view, I can see these "broken" cross reference sources that came in from the Word doc but on selecting them I can see that there isnt a corresponding entry for it in the cross reference pane. As said, there are only a few that are behaving like this.
What could be causing these not to appear in the cross reference pane?
Obviously as they are not appearing in the list of cross references I can't update them, and also, as they are technically broken cross references, because a source exists for them but there is no corresponding entry in the pane, then on export to epub, InDesign crashes (If there is one broken cross reference in a document, export to Epub will crash indesign).
Also, to clarify, in the Word doc if I navigate to a cross reference that is failing once in InDesign, I can update it properly, and also navigate to its destination in the Word doc, so it's not as though these cross references are broken before coming into InDesign. Also I believe the destinations for these "broken" cross references are coming across properly to indesign too as I can see them in the story editor view.

If a table is used within the Word document somewhere between where the cross reference source is and its destination then that particular cross reference will be broken as described above in my initial post.
So the "fix" is to remove any occurances of a table in the Word document and the cross references come into InDesign perfectly. This is actually not a fix at all. I need to use tables in the Word document for layout purposes so if they break cross references if they stand between them and their destinations then I have to compromise, i.e. use tables but with no cross references in the document or vice versa.
I found a similar issue recently with index markers in Word causing a shift on the cross reference tags when bought into InDesign. The "fix" again for that was to remove all index markers from the Word document. See post about this here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1043981
InDesign really needs to sort out the issues with importing of Word documents with cross references in them. If I can't use index markers and tables in a Word document without breaking its cross references then they can't claim to have the ability to import a Word document while maintaining its cross references into an InDesign document. It just doesnt work as ive painstakingly proven. -

Usually if it says your Apple ID is not an iCloud account, that means you have not yet enabled your Apple ID as an iCloud account. So you did set it up correctly on your iPod touch?

To use iCloud, you must first set it up with your Apple ID on a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion.
On an iOS 5 device go to Settings>iCloud and sign in using your Apple ID. -

Music purchased from the iTunes Store is automatically available in iCloud. This is "iTunes in the Cloud" and does not require an iCloud account. The music is stored in the iTunes Store, not in a personal iCloud account.
If you don't have any Apple devices you will not be able to create an account. It wouldn't be any value to you anyway as it syncs data on you computer with your Apple devices. If you don't have any, there is nothing to sync. -

You will have to sign in to I cloud on any of the iOS device with version 5 or above once with your Apple Id to use your Apple Id as I cloud account. So if you have an iPhone iPad or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later.
On your iOS device go to settings > I cloud and sign in and you should be able to use your Apple Id as an icloud Id. -

Go to the 'Go' menu in the Finder and hold down the option key to reveal the Library. Then navigate to library > preferences > system configuration and drag the 'Networkinterfaces.plist' file to the trash and restart for mac. Now try again. -

You can't create an iCloud account on your PC. You have to first create an iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher). After creating the account on one of these devices you can use the ID to sign into the account on your PC.

I don't have any apple products personally, this is for work to use Photo Stream so when Superintendents & Project Managers take pictures of their construction site, I am able to have those images immediately.

I downloaded the iCloud control panel on my PC but can't sign in - message says "This apple ID is valid but not an iCloud account. I've tried the account set up several times but it keeps just spinning me in circles, asking me to sign in and then I get the same message again. This is getting frustrating and I really don't seem to be able to get help. I can't contact customer support because I have a PC and there is a serial number of an apple device required.Can anyone help please?
You can't setup (create) an iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device, a Mac or an iPhone etc. Once you have created an account you can sign in from your PC.
