Audi MMI and Phonebooks

Have basically given up trying to use a Nokia "smartphone" in an Audi. Have bought an HTC TyTn 2 which immediately uploaded it's contact book to the MMI display of my Audi A6 (2006 model), by Bluetooth.
Is it really so difficult Nokia?

Nokia "smartphones" suck in non-nokia car kits.
When will they get it right?

  • Iphone4 4.2 and Audi MMI

    Hi
My iPad and 3GS are both running 4.2 and they connect to my Audi's MMI and allow me to play music via the head unit as expected. However when i plug in my iPhone 4 (4.2) the MMI sits displaying "Loading" without progressing any further.
Clearly a fix is needed by either Audi or Apple but i am unable to find any email addresses to contact that doesn't require an apple care package and related to a technical issue!

Well I don't think it has to do anything with the Telecom provider. I am in Europe, bought an Audi A6 in May 2010 here, iPhone 4 (4.3.2, not yet 4.3.3)  from here and Telecom from here.
Still I do have the same problems : Since version 4.2 (I think, not sure) I have been unable to synchronize the iphone's addressbook (stuck forever at "importing addressbook") and the recent calls do not appear in the MMI.
On the other hand the AMI now no longer recognizes the iphone 4 ("no device connected) whereas my iPod touch 3g (haven't tried updating it to 4.2 or 4.3)  and my wife's iPhone 2G work just fine.
I'm guessing Apple changed something without telling others (again). I had been hoping this would been resolved by now but thew 4.3.3. changelog doesn't mention anything .
EDIT : Forgot to mention that  a friends iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1 worked perfectly ! And I did do a MMI reset and an iPhone reset all of which did cost me quite some time.

  • Bluetooth connection with audi MMI iphone 4 drops after software update 5.0.1

    Hello,
After uptdating my iPhone 4 with software 5.0.1, I have problems with my bluetooth connection in my car (2006 Audi MMI). When I make a call or someone calls me, after a minute or so, the connection is lost for 10- 15 seconds, and then reconnects again. Pretty annoying.
    Someone got a solution?

I got the exact same problem. Noticed in the morning while hoping to check out the extra features.
Taking my lunch break now to research solutions...

When I try to connect my iPhone 6 to the Audi MMI adapter in the glove compartment of my 2015 Q5, it shows up as a source on the media screen, but says there are no playable files.

i should have stayed with android as it worked with uconnect....it even allowed my jeep to read the text messages to me and I could respond...now iphone 6 and software not working ... Apple aweful at support ...

  • Since updating my IPhone 4s to iOS8.1 it wont communicate with my Audi MMI system?

Since updating my IPhone 4s to iOS8.1 it wont communicate with my Audi MMI system?  I can manually play music and podcasts from the phone by connecting and operating from the phone but it wont work handfree when connected.  Anyone have a solution?

    First, try rebooting it:
    Rebooting your iDevice
Hold down the Sleep (On-Off) and Home buttons together for about 10-15 seconds or until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears - then let go of the buttons. The iPad should begin to start up.
If that doesn't help then restore it: Backing up, updating, and restoring iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone software

  • My iPhone 4S not compatible with 2008 Q7 Audi MMI.  Now only phone numbers come up on screen, no name.  Names appeared on the phone screen but not MMI screen. Cannot dial by contact info while driving anymore.  Never had this problem with previous iPhones

My iPhone 4S not compatible with 2008 Q7 Audi MMI.  Now only phone numbers come up on screen, no name.  When someone calls, only the number appears on the MMI screen, not their name or whether they called from their office/home etc..   Same with missed calls, dialed numbers etc.. Names appeared on the screen of the phone,  but not on MMI screen. Cannot dial by searching  contact and name info while driving anymore.  Never had this problem with previous iPhones.  Is this an Apple issue or Audi issue?  Anyone with this problem? Help!

NIGHTMARE Finally Ends, after nearly two weeks.
After trying for over a week trying to get my replacement iPhone 4S to activate, I ended up driving 110+ miles to an Apple Store to get a second replacement, which had been specially shipped there for me.  Popped in the SIM card, went through the setup and I finally have an iPhone 4S that works, at least for the time being.
Advice to others who find themselves in this situation:
         1)     If you get these messages (see original post), the phone is bad.  Demand a replacement.
         2)     If the AppleCare tech advises that the Apple Agreement Administration team is investigating, you'll be waiting for a week or more for them to complete it.  Demand a replacement immediately, don't let them put you off indefinitely.
After the initial phone call documented in my original post, I was in daily contact, phone & e-mail, with the AppleCare tech trying to figure out the problem, and we tried everything, from forced restore's to switching SIM cards, conferencing w/ AT&T, etc.  It seems that this was a case of first impression to Apple, but if it wasn't, then the problem is not well documented or known by those who should know, and for that, the blame should be on Apple, not the AppleCare tech who worked tirelessly trying to figure out a solution--I'd send him a case of beer if I knew where to send it.

  • Has Apple fixed the IOS to recover the heretofore compatibility with Audi MMI?

I formerly was able to play my I Tunes music with the phone connected to the 2012 Audi MMI cable.  After an update the phone is no longer with compatible with the car.

    What troubleshooting have you done?
BTW, this is a user-to-user technical support forum. No one here would know what Apple did or did not do, or even if the problem is with iOS.

  • Nokia X6 phonebook connection with Audi MMI

    Hi,
Just upgraded my phone to the new X6. Bluetooth to the mmi system is working fine but i cannot access my addressbook through the mmi.
Anyone else suffering this problem? Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Not a guaranteed solution but try installing this Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 5th edition devices on the X6 (phone memory)
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-810/software
Delete the pairings on both the car and the phone, switch the phone off and on, then try to connect again.
As said, not a guaranteed solution because the patch is designed to support older Nokia Car Phones, but there are some OEM systems that it seems to work on.
    Hope it works!

  • Problem connecting Nokia N95 to Audi MMI via Audi ...

    Hello again!
My dad has recently upgraded his phone from his old-ish Motorola RAZR to the N95 and now can't connect properly to the car. He bought the handsfree set when he still had the Nokia 6310, so it's designed for that, but his next phone, the Motorola had no problem synching with the car and everything worked fine. But now, with the new one, it only works as a headset of sorts. The phonebook is inaccessible, and the ringing is only heard when you make the initial connection, and even that the standard ring ring, not the mp3 he has as his ringtone. And from the second auto-connect afterwards, the MMI only mutes the radio, and makes no other sound.
I've paired my Nokia 6280 with it and it works as it should, addressbook, ringtone and all.
Is this the problem of the N95 not supporting the old version of Bluetooth, like i've been reading on the forum and can't be resoloved by any other means than getting another phone or can it be solved by a simple firmware upgrade?
Also, i've tried googling for UHV 1733 and haven't had a single hit. I am confused. :?

I don't know personally but it has been discusse before somewhere else. Try this link:

    Hope that helps

  • IPhone 6 constantly disconnecting from Audi MMI

My iPhone 6 constantly (and, it appears, randomly) disconnects from the MMI system in my 2013 A6. I updated the cable to the latest version (genuine Audi) to see if this solved the issue but it continues to do so. I didn't have the problem with my iPhone 5 which I never bothered to upgrade to iOS 8, so I suspect it's an iOS 8 problem. I've tried multiple ways of connecting, phone off, connect, then switch on. Phone on, connect, MMI on etc. etc. to no avail. My current suspicion is it may be a charging issue as my phone was 100% charged this morning when I plugged it in, and everything worked fine but when I plugged in this evening (circa 45% charged) the constant disconnecting occurred again. It will connect, play a few seconds/minutes of a track, disconnect and then the process repeats.

I have the same problem with my 2014 Audi A5/iPhone 6 with the 4F0051510AD lightning cable. This cable has now been replaced with a new 4F0051510AL lightning cable which my Audi dealer has ordered so I will see if this fixes the problem. Apparently this new AL cable also transfers Album Art and Video unlike the AD cable. I don't think it is an Apple iOS issue as my iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th Gen don't disconnect and they all have 8.1.1 installed, so seems more like a hardware issue.
I currently have the 4F0051510R 30 Pin cable with the lightning adapter and it works fine with the iPhone 6 and transfers Album Art but not video due to the adapter not supporting video transfer.
I didn't realise the 4F0051510AD lightning cable stayed connected if the phone was charged but I have just tested this and it does seem to be the case, still not ideal though!

  • Bluetooth Audi MMI Connectivity

Is anyone else having issues with MMI connection to the phone? Before the update I could browse my phone, now I can't. The dialed numbers, missed calls, etc. used to show names and now it's just phone numbers. Tried resetting both the car and the iPhone. No dice.

Audi '08 A3, RNS-E which is a flavor of MMI. iPhone 3G S seems to work fine, lots of options when you get to the Audi UHV device. I am not sure what they all do but I can use the MFSW to scroll the contacts as well as the Phone Directory on the RNS-E itself. There are also on/off settings for Phone Favorites and Phone Recents. There is a "Sync Contacts" on/off as well. All of these are in Bluetooth in the Audi UHV device. I am looking for documentation so if you can find any please respond here as I have subscribed to this thread. Thanks.

  • Connection with Audi MMI

i just picked up my new Q5 audi and i can connect my ipod to the system, even though my ipod shows its connected it isnt recognized by the MMI system.
    any suggestions?
    thanks

I have a '13 GTI, and it should be the same interface. I have to power on/off when in media mode sometimes to get it to recogmize. It's even worse with the optional cable that connects via USB. I've been told (on the GTI forum) that VW/Audi doesn't seem to "like" Apple products.

  • How can I get album artwork to save to SD card so I can upload it to my Audi MMI jukebox

I have all my album artwork in my itunes account.  I am trying to transfer the music to a SD card that can be uploaded to my 2014 Audi Q5 which has a Multi Media Interface.  I can save up to 3000 songs to the car itself.  I can upload the music but the art work will not transfer.  Please help.  I can see all the album covers in itunes and some transfer but some do not.  I read that the files have to be 200kb or less but I do not know how to change the file size of the album art.  I also read that they need to be embeded and I have no idea how to do that.  Please help!!!!!

Select all songs of a particular album then cmd-I for info. Drag an image to the artwork pane. This will save an embedded image to all songs.
It's tedious but will solve your problem.
Have you ever used a python script? I ended up automating this with mutagen.

  • Sync failed but took photos and phonebook

Hi, I just accepted the updates and downloads via itunes on my 4s and it failed after 9 minutes.  Now I find it has wiped all my photos (100 ) and stripped my phonebook down to probably the size it was a year ago.  Help. Please.

    wwodzien,
For one Project plan you can fix this issue by performing save for sharing step, this is different than normal save as option. Save for sharing will not change UID data of the project plan and assignments.
Since this issue is not project specific, it's more likely that Project Server reporting database is  corrupt. To fix this issue you need to initiate RDB refresh  job by taking administrative backup of Enterprise Custom fields and  perform
administrative restore of the same. This is initiate large number of various types of job in the queue. Wait until all jobs are successfully completed. You may see few jobs in sleeping state but don't work about that. Project Server is waiting other corrected
jobs to finish. Depending number of  users, project plans etc this process will take sometime so try to do this during off peak hours or planned outage time window.
