Audi Recording from Internet Radio

I'd like to record radio broadcasts (stereo). So far I have not succeeded because the only inputs I can choose are either the integrated Mic or Line-In. The Mic does record, but - of course - only if the Speakers are on and only Mono.
Is there a way of recording in stereo with speakers off? With Windows this is a trivial task. I was told with a Mac everything were +much easier+. Is it?
Thanks for any hint.

Very easy with the right application!

  • Recording from itunes radio into Logic

I want to be able to record from iTunes or just internet radio into Logic....I know there are some programs to down load that do this...Don't remember what the links are or the names of these programs...Can anybody help ? Thanks

Soundflower or Jack OSX - you install a virtual audio driver, set the system to output to it, and in Logic, record from it.
However, using Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack is probably a nicer way of doing this, as you can set up presets and timers and hijack the audio output from lots of different applications without having to do all the virtual audio driver stuff.

  • Recording from FM radio

Hello, i need help plz, i like to record something from radio FM when i connect the earphones of the phone but the problem is the noise and if any one talking or the sounds of anything will be entered, so what should i do to turn off the mic to record a high quality from the radio and be clear without another sounds ???????

In some countries it is illegal to record radio due to copyrights so the system radio app will not have this function so you may have to use a 3rd party app to accomplish this

  • Create MP3 from Internet radio?

    Hello All,
Is it possible to record audio from the internet (Like BBC iPlayer) to create mp3's of programmes and concerts?
I can't seem to find a way of doing it and wondered if anyone knew how.
    Thanks,
    Mark

Install SoundFlower, make it the Macs' default output in the Sound prefpanel, make it the Input in Logic. Now you can play anything (iTunes, internetaudio) and Logic can record it: In Logic, hit record, switch to your internetbrowser and start whatever playback you want to record.
Just did this yesterday, works fine.

  • Recording from internet results in echo

I tried to record a song from last.fm and youtube. While recording there is an echo sound and/or a delay in the tracks. I've posted this as a bug in Papago. This sound delay does not occur when I use AVS Media to record. This is a major problem

I suspect you've got the "Monitor Input During Recording" option selected in the record dialog. If you're capturing the streaming audio via the "What You Hear" or "Stereo Mix" input options in the Windows Sound Device preferences AND the input monitor option is turned on, Soundbooth will echo what it records through the main system output, which will then in turn be recorded as it's fed back into Soundbooth. Unchecking the Monitor... box should prevent that.
If not, let me know and we can continue troubleshooting.

  • App for recording internet radio stations?

Hi, have looked in the app store for an app that will enable me to record internet radio stations that I am listening to.
I have seen there are plenty of recorders that will record voice etc through the iphone mic but I really want to record what I am hearing such as internet radio.
Will any of the current apps do this? If so which ones & which are stable etc?
    Many Thanks!

there is no way you could have an app that plays internet radio and have an app that records the internet radio...i dont know if an app exists but even if it did, you couldnt run 2 apps at the same time, so obviously you cant record

  • Recording Internet radio programs

Could you recommend software that records streamed internet radio programs. It would great if it can be programmed to record in the middle of the day while I am at work. It does not need to be free as long it works and comes with a good track record.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi there,
Just curious as to why that is illegal.... If I turn on the radio, put a cassette recorder next to it, and record.... is that illegal?

  • Macbook Pro recording sound from external radio

    Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how I can record an external digital radio with my Macbook Pro. As a backgrounder, I am able to do it on my old white Macbook because it has a line-in port, so I just connect a 3.5mm cable from the radio to the Macbook and then I have software (Audio Hijack Pro) to hijack and record it.
However, as we all know, the new Macbook Pros have done away with the line-in port. And the Sound options in System Preferences don't seem to have a function allowing me to fiddle with the headphone port (apparently, earlier models had a function in System Preference that allowed you to turn the headphone port into line-in) but this new model doesn't have that option anywhere.
So I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether the USB ports or even Thunderbolt can RECEIVE sound from an external device such as a digital radio. I have seen cables that are 3.5mm to USB so I think getting the cable to connect the radio to the Mac is possible, but will it actually receive the sound or just do nothing? Or is there some other way I can record an external device I'm not thinking of, bearing in mind I don't want to use the Mac's microphone to do it, as I will of course get all other ambient sound in the room at the time, and I don't want to rely on an internet stream of said radio.
    Thanks,
    Joe

What if it was a digital radio, would that make things easier by way of using just a 3.5mm to USB cable? Especially because a quick search of a USB Audio Interface brought up some expensive results.
Also, as a possible alternative, after some extensive research online, I've found an iMic USB Audio Device by Griffin that is essentially an adaptor with a USB cable on one end and a Line In port on the other, thus allowing me to connect a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the digital radio to the adapter, and then the adapter goes into the MBP USB port. It's on Amazon and it claims to function as a way to plug microphones and other external audio equipment to it. It seems pretty straightforward, which sometimes has me thinking it's too good to be true.
The output from your radio is analog, regardless of whether the radio is 'digital' or not.
You need a USB audio interface. The iMic is a USB audio interface.

  • Recording internet radio streams...

Does anyone know of an effective means of recording internet radio streams as .mp3 or .ogg files? I did a LITTLE bit of searching and only found stuff for windows.

If I remember well, I managed to record video brodcasts from the Internet using mplayer. It is full of options and it might be a place to start. The thing is that the video I've recorded was of fixed length and I believe you want to capture live radio.

  • Internet radio from Apple TV suddenly not working!!! Please help!

I used to be able to put internet radio stations in a playlist and sync to ATV, and they would show up on the ATV and I could select and listen to them! From what I've read on some other forums, after version 2.02 came out, you could even do that and not have your computer on and itunes open, and could still access and listen to the radio stations on ATV! Which is great!
I hadn't tried this in a while and decided to get the 2.02 update and try. Now, when I select the playlist with the radio stations in it (on ATV) I get a message - "contains no songs"!!
Does anybody know what is going on with this feature? It seems to work for some people but not others! Some think that it stopped working for people with itunes 7.6.1 and higher!! (I have 7.6.2 and OSX 10.4.11)
Just when I had a plan on really taking advantage of this feature, it stopped working!
Can anybody help with this topic? Do people from Apple read and answer these posts?
    Thanks,
    SB

Wow! That surprised me! I had already tried something very similar to that, and it didn't work!
What you said works! Thanks so much!
And in addition, playing the internet radio from my ATV (rather than from computer & thru airtunes) seems to work better! Before, (using airtunes), some stations would cut out / skip etc... and it doesn't seem to happen now! And I can now, not even have my computer on!
My understanding is that if I ever turn off the ATV, I'll have to do the procedure that you said again correct?
    Thanks so much again!
It would be nice if Apple could now have the details / info that shows up in itunes when you play a internet radio station (song info etc...) show up on the screen on ATV - right?!!!
(for me, right now - just says: "Proton Radio - unknown album")

  • Is there a way of "merging" songs in iTunes. Several times, I have downloaded from the Internet, or recorded from CDs, then found the tracks broken up to appear as separate "Albums". I have a 5-movement symphony, which appears as 5 separate songs?

  • How do I record internet radio?

This isn't really a problem but a question. Can someone tell me how to record an FM radio station so I can put some of their programs on a CD and listen in my car? It's an actual FM station, not one of the stations that come up if you go to Windows Media Player. Can someone help, please?

Such internet radio content is usually streamed and that requires special software to intercept and record the stream.

I don't know if this is what you really want, but I created a Playlist for Radio, and add some of the stations I like from websites. (If you click on the web-links they load into iTunes in the Sidebar). And you can also add individual Radio stations from the top right,(under Apple) to a Playlist. That's the only way I know to have them in the Sidebar.
Z_ZS-B, You also helped me to find the old Radio list! I didn't even know it was up on the right, under Apple. I haven't liked this version of iTunes so I hadn't even bothered to try and figure it out until now, but because I just bought a my first iPod Shuffle I'm determined to bend this version to my will. ;-)
