Audible account password??

Help, I have bought several audio books from iTunes store last couple of years. Some how I have lost them in iTunes, I have them backup, but now when I try to drag them back to iTunes I'm asked for my audible account password and user name, after I enter it iTunes will not accept it, it tells me that the user name or password is wrong. I can log into my account and and see my account. I have only 1 account that I know of and it was used to buy these books as far as I know. I looked all over my account and can not find where I could of setup another account or password. How do I find out if I have somehow setup another account. I have checked under the Store tab in iTunes and it says that my computer is Authorized and under the Adavance Tab it only shows that I could DeAuthorized Audible Account.

All i want to do is access my itunes on my laptop  i was told i had to deauthorize the audible account and it is asking for a username and password, i tryed using my itunes login info but it didn't work, where can i find this info to get this gone.
Or is there another way to sync my itunes account with my laptop????
Please please help me!!!! I need my music

I'm confused. Who told you that you need to deauthorize an Audible account to be able to play your music? Did you ever set up an account with Audible.com? What is happening when you try to play your music?  And what exactly do you mean by "sync your iTunes account with your laptop"?
Please provide more details as to your situation and what it is you're trying to accomplish. I'm sure once we understand what it going on, someone can provide suggestions.
    Regards.

  • I am trying to deauthorize my audible account.  It says the user name and/or password are incorrect after I had just deauthorized the computer using the same user name and password.  They should be different correct?

Deauthorize Audible Account... always appears as a menu selection, even if you deauthorized Audible or never even had an account.
Audible is a different account from iTunes and does not require the same username / password.

  • ITunes and Audible Accounts

I'm a bit confused with these two. I lost one authorization due to a hard drive crash and now I want to reformat my drive to reinstall everything fresh so I want to deauthorized my computer before erasing so can authorize again without loosing another authorization. Went to the Advance menu and clicked on deauthorize my computer and get a message of name and password wrong, meanwhile I'm logged in to view my account on iTunes, are they separate? why should I have two different names and passwords to deauthorize? Makes no sense. Also read that Audible accounts are created for audio books, I don't have nor ever bought audio books, what is this? I never had an Audible password set in the past, only an Apple iTunes account. Can someone explain how are the two linked? and why do I need to deauthorize my computer with a separate company?
Sure I'm missing something, don't know where .

Probably better raised with Audible / Amazon - iTunes simply applies their rules for enforcing DRM on usage of Audible (.aa) files.  I don't believe, though, that authorization is applied to an iPod - you just need to be authorize your computer with a specific Audible account to be able to play audiobooks and to sync them.  If you have details of your Audible accounts then I assume you could use Store > Deauthorize Audible Account... several times and each time you get this prompt:
enter the username and password for each account until they've all been cleared.  Then reauthorize the Audible accounts corresponding to the content in your library.
I don't think that the details of your Audible accounts are available from within iTunes or in its accessible files.  You can, however, open up an Audible (.aa) file in a suitable editor (I just used TextPad to do this) and you can see your Audible username embedded near the start of the file.

  • Deauthorize Audible Account

I've already looked at some posts about this issue, but it still doesn't solve my problem.
I have 2 MacbookPros in my household. For some reason I choose to install my Iphone 3G to computer B instead of A (primary computer). I used iTunes 7.7
    *Computer A (primary)*
Now i'm having problem to get the authority on my main computer, it says:
    iTunes Store/ Account.
+Computer Authorizations: One machine is authorized to play music purchased with this account.+
    *Computer B (secondary)*
Now I choose to "Deauthorize Audible Account" (in the advanced menu). Which I think it means the same Apple ID-account I use to login to iTunes, right? Pop-up window comes up, I have to enter +"Audible user name" & "Password"+.
Still doesn't work. It claims it's wrong user name or password. Which is not.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help.

The Deauthorize Audible Account option is only possible to use if you've purchased and used audiobooks from Audible on that machine. It is not the same as the iTunes Store account.

  • Difference between authorization and audible account and other things

When I check my account in iTunes it says I have 4 machines out of 5 authorized to play music purchased with this account, even though I only have one laptop. I do have three different types of iPods. Are these iPods considered 'machines' that are taking up the other three of the four authorizations?? I tried deauthorizing my laptop mutliple times as described in the 'One computer using multiple iTunes Store authorizations' article, but I can only deauthorize the laptop once before I get the prompt to reauthorize my computer. Is there a way to find out just exactly what are the four machines that are on my account??
I have noticed under 'Advanced' in the iTunes menu bar there is a 'deauthorize audible account.' How is this different than 'deauthorize computer' under Store in the menu bar??
Any help on these matters is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
Authenticate: Prove that you are the user you tend to be, for example by checking a password of a user (=> user is authenticated)
Authorize: Give certain permission to a user, for example "not authorized to ready file xy" ("permission denied" / "not authorized")

  • Audible files no longer sync - cannot deauthorize Audible account

After updating to the newest version of iTunes, my Audible purchases do not sync. They synced fine before.
I have tried to deauthorize my Audible account but iTunes gives me an error stating "Could not deauthorize this computer because either your user name or password are invalid." I reset my password on the Audible site and tried to deauthorize via iTunes again but still no luck.
So now I'm stuck and cannot listen to my audiobooks on my iPod. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Try turning off Vista UAC and deauthorizing. Then you can turn UAC back on.

When trying to update apps it asks for account password but it doesn't show my account ID, it shows my dad's. How can I fix this so I can sign in?

It sounds like the apps were purchased using your dads account, so they will have to be updated using that account.

  • I have 3 audible accounts and can't copy them all to my ipod

I get this error message "Some of the Audible Files in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPod "iPod" because an iPod may only contain content from two Audible accounts."
    Don't ask why I have 3 accounts, it's a long story.
    I have a 5th generation video ipod 80gb
all the files are on one computer in itunes, I do not share my library with any other computers
I saw an earlier question posted with no real answer but it was related to subscriptions to podcasts from Audible and that's not really my problem.
Does anyone know a way to fix this?
Or do I just have to listen to all the old books before I can listen to the new ones?
    Any help appreciated..

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Why on earth can I only have audible books from 2 acounts on my iPod? This is B.S. Is there a way for us to sort by account on the iPod so that I can delete audio books from one of my 2 audible accounts so that I can add books from my wifes account.
    Thanks

  • I have two apple ID passwords and two devices when I try to use my account/password it asks for the other account that I don't have the password to. Can update or buy anything. Can you help ?

I have one computer and one iTunes library and two devices hooked up to it. But I have to apple IDs a different one for each of the two devices. When I try to buy or update something using my account and password it asks for the other account password so I can buy or update anything. I can log into this website using my accountant it recagnizes me but i still can't get it to work on the App Store . I don't know I'f this matters but I just updated to iOS 6 and then tried it and it wouldn't work. Before I updated it , when I would try to get an app or something it would still  ask me for the other password , but if I pushed cancel then it would ask me do mine and then it would work , but it doesn't do that anymore. If I push cancel it just cancels and does nothing. I hope you can give me some suggestions, I really need your help:)

It seems that you have used the AppleIDs to "Purchase" your devices, which marries the two for all time and eternity.

  • My email password and my verizon account password are the same? Are you SERIOUS?

The other day I did something I never do, actually log into my verizon account.  I hate the verizon interface, I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than use it, but every now and then I have to use it to handle a bill.  So, of course the password that I remembered setting on it didn't work.  So I jumped through the hoops to reset the password, conducted my business, and left the site, hopefully not to return for a year at least.
Lo and behold, the next time I tried to access my email (which I use Thunderbird for, and don't tell me it's not a supported client, it works fine, and no I'm not going to use Verizon's webmail interface), it won't accept my email password.  Now, this password HAD always been distinct from my verizon account password.  But...telling myself, "Oh no they didn't," I tried using the new password that I'd set for my online account.  Surprise!  It let me into my email!
Now, this morning, neither the new password nor my old email password are being accepted.
So, I have two questions, apart from the existential "why does Verizon feel the need to torture its customers like this":
1)Are they SERIOUSLY requiring you to have the SAME password for your email AND your My Verizon Account?
2)If, as I hope and pray, the answer to 1 is "hellz no", how can I change just my EMAIL password?
Anticipating a reply of, "No, it's just one password, because we've decided that's MORE secure, and your whole problem is that you're using Thunderbird, because ummmm somehow Thunderbird renders passwords into ancient Greek before it submits them and so it won't work, but of course some dull-normal client like Outlook WILL work, and don't ask me the details because I'm really not very technical, but apparently I'm technical enough to tell you that your client is no good"...

Yes, the passwords are the same now. Verizon made a big push a while back to give customers a single login. They merged everyone's accounts, not because it is more secure, but because they think customers will find it easier. No, there is no way to change just your email password.
And no, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using Thunderbird. Many of us have it configured for verizon.net addresses, and it works just fine.
Wish I had a better answer for you...

Will iTunes match match songs that have been downloaded using a different audible account?

    Hey there Chriskir,
It sounds like you would like to delete all the songs from your iPad but still be able to access them in iTunes Match. You can delete all the songs from the Music section of your Usage in Settings by swiping your music left:
    Settings > General > Usage
