Audible Asking for Authorization Each Time iTunes is Run

Hi,
I just reformatted my drive and installed Leopard. I then restored my iTunes library from a backup. Everything plays as expected (e.g. all purchased items work fine) except that the first time I play an Audible file after restarting iTunes, I have to re-enter my Audible account information. Once I enter the account information the file plays properly but the next time I start iTunes I have to re-enter the info again.
This is very annoying as if I forget to start playing an Audible file before synching my iPod the Audible files do not copy to the iPod and I'm given a warning stating that the files are not authorized. If I play an Audible file and enter my account into I can then synch my iPod properly.
This has been happening with both iTunes 7.4.x and 7.5.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Simon.

Your sig states a Sony. Does that mean a Sony Vaio?
If so, read through this older topic. It's some Sony software conflicting with itunes. Redkeefy has a good post on it.

Try the solution here: The problem may be that Aperture cannot write the file that remembers the serial number:

  • Activation of Macromedia Flash MX 2004. Even once activated still asks for key each time opened.

I have used both my own key and the one provided by Adobe. I get the message saying the product is activated and it opens but each time I open the application it asks me for the key again? I am using this in a school lab and this is happening on every computer. Can any one help?

i'm pretty sure this is about all the help you can expect, Error: Unable to Activate | Macromedia products  though you could do some simple things like save the serial number to a desktop text file so you just have to copy and paste when starting flash mx

Ok, just fixed this by removing Exchange from Calendar app

  • Flex asks for license each time it starts

    Hello
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I couldn't dig it out with the search.
Today I got my educational license for Flex Builder, but each time I start Flex it want me to input the license again. I do not think this is normal, it's like it can't remember the license.
Is there anything I can do?
    best regards

  • My MBP 13" wont boot up; asking for restart each time i power on.

    hi,
i found a folder named "usr" in my mac. not knowing how it came there, i deleted it. at the same time, i was updating safari to the latest version-5. i tried to open itunes, but it wouldn't. in between i gave for emptying trash and i think that was when everything went wrong. later when i checked the satus of trash bin, it said, it couldn't access trash as it was still in the process of emptying. i waited for some ten minutes before shutting down.
each time i would start up afterwards, the boot up sound will be heard, a dark screen overlaps the startup screen from top, and gives the warning, like, "you need to restart your machine"; then giving details on how to restart. the message appears in three languages.
    anyone can help?

    Hi
Although you did not know it (probably) but somehow you found one of the invisible folders that makes up your mac's operating system. Clearly in hindsight this was an idiotic thing to do.
Your best bet now is to insert the Installer Disk that came with your laptop and reinstall the OS. No it won't delete anything and it should preserve your account as it exists. Having said that this all depends on your seeming desire to delete things you don't understand. To protect you from yourself it might be best if you made a back up of all your data first.

  • Sending email asks for password each time

each time I go to send an email from one of 3 accounts it prompts me to put in my password. dod not do this before.

    Hello kiwzscale,
Is Cory Tobin's contribution to this page of any help?
If this was happening to me, I'd explore KeychainAccess (Finder/Go Menu/Utilities) and see if Mirror Agent or your old password appears anywhere there. Look at this article. Does that offer you any clues, even if only by analogy? And what about this one, which refers to Mirror Agent's relationship to iDisc?
    Best wishes,
    Martin

  • Video gray, no sound, asks for authorization every time

I've been having problems with video from the iTMS recently, INCLUDING the preview files on the store!
Example: I downloaded a free Stargate SG-1 documentary about the mythology behind the series, and so I wanted to watch it. It finished downloading, and so I went to TV Shows on the sidebar. Double-clicked it and...It asked to be authorized! This was odd, since I've had my computer authorized for a while because I've been buying music...I typed my password in and clicked OK, and it "supposedly" authorized it. However, all it is is a gray box! No video, no sound, just a gray box that sits there.
If I stop and re-start the movie (play other music and then go and play the video again), it asks to be authorized! Same procedure, same results. This also occurs when I tried to preview some TV episodes and music videos within the store. I have the latest versions of both QuickTime and iTunes; I've tried the suggestions in the video FAQ. Anyone have any ideas?

Wow .. that's really gotta annoy you!
Considering you have all the latest versions of both QuickTime and iTunes, the only thing you can really do is send a report form to iTunes and get them to either send a new copy of the file or something..
Wish I could provide more help!

  • ITunes keeps asking for authorization and won't close

I have been having trouble with iTunes ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion.  iTunes will open and repeatedly ask for authorization.  I've tried resetting the authorization, using terminal to do it, deleting folders, etc.  I would like to try and uninstall iTunes, but I cannot get iTunes to close. Not even force quit will cause it to stay closed long enough to delete it and reinstall it.  Then there's the problem where it appears to have lost my library completely...which may be part of this issue or a separate issue.  Considering it started at the same time, I'm guessing it's just another facet of the issue.  I'd love to just reinstall iTunes, but I can't get it to not open and/or close.  I am about ready to throw the MacBook in the garbage, because this is the sort of problems I expect with Windows, not Apple.  Any ideas would be appreciated to save my laptop and sanity.

here is the fix..it worked for me

  • Itunes says its going to ask for authorization password but that window doesnt pop up

please help. The problem is that when it says itunes will open and ask for authorization, itunes window doesn't pop up.

Since installing Windows 7 there have been some weird goings on with my laptop.
I kept muddling around with this and ran a few diagnostics only to find that everything was fine. There was an incompatibility problem with Windows 7 and Firefox (safe mode) which I cared for by simply agreeing with everything Windows 7 wanted to do. It made an adjustment and apparently between the two programs they worked it out.
I tried downloading Firefox 4 beta one more time...using a fresh download in my Firefox browser and from the Firefox webpage. Oddly, this time the program downloaded saved itself to my laptop. I was able to open and install it without incident.
Now, I am all sync'd up!
Thank you very much for your assistance

  • Each time iTunes(v 11.0.2.26) launches, it requires password for my AppleID

Each time iTunes(v 11.0.2.26) launches, it requires password for my AppleID

If I were you I would try to troubleshoot your connection with itunes ON the system. But for starters it is very unlikely one program like itunes blocks your connection, so I would try to disable your antivirus/firewall during download and reinstall of itunes. May be your firewalll kicks in some panic mode. Judging by your name you have very strong firewall

  • Asking for authorization

I just purchased an album on itunes and when trying to play the songs it asks for authorization for each one. When I authorized one of the songs, it acknowledged it as a second computer. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to make itunes recognize that they are already authorized?

I restarted itunes and now all is fine.

  • TS1717 authorized cumputer asks for authorization then say it is authorized, will not play music

When I try to play a song, it asks for authorization, then I authorize it, the message then read already authoized, so then go to play it asks for authorization...Do you have any clues?

it occurs with just some songs. I purchased 2 albums and only 1 song on each will play. the other ones get the authorization message.
Okay. If only a couple of the tracks are throwing that message, that suggests that the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Constant Keychain Request Each Time iTunes Opens

Each time iTunes opens up it asks me for the password to my keychain. I don't recall it doing this before. I recently did a clean install of Tiger and brought my PBG4 up to 10.4.10, and re-installed all my apps. I updated to iTunes 7.6.2.
Here's the situation. I use a cron job to open an AppleScript(s) and that AppleScript tells iTunes to open and play a specific play list. It used to work great, for years as a matter of fact.
(Most of my library is composed of CD's of mine I've digitized, songs I've made myself on the computer, and a minimal (~few hundred) songs, I've purchased from the iTunes Store.)
In the AM, energy saver wakes the computer and runs a script to play a playlist of bird songs, I highly recommend it! In the past, after an iTunes update, the lawyer-language dialog would always throw a monkey wrench in the works, if I didn't open up iTunes first and accept the license. (In other words iTunes would open, but the legal mumbo jumbo dialog would halt all iTunes prorgress.)
However, the problem that's occurred the past few days is that EVERY TIME iTunes opens up, and my keychain is locked, iTunes won't do a darn thing until I type in my keychain password and then iTunes does some "phone home" thing. This is totally bogus. EVERY TIME!
I am considering having to downgrade to an earlier version of iTunes to avoid this, since I don't recall it happening before.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Help?
This is a laptop, and I have it set to lock keychains on sleep. I also set keychains to lock after a certain amount of time. This is a bit of a security measure and I won't change it. In the past iTunes NEVER needed to connect to the store during initialization.
Imagine that in order for your clock radio to ring the alarm, or play music in the morning, you had to get up and turn it on yourself, this is what I am facing. Rediculous.
Fix? Work around? Help? Other? Thanks in advance!

    A bit more info...
iTunes is authorized, the computer is authorized.
    And
Even if I hit "cancel" in the Keychain password dialog request, WITHOUT typing in my password, iTunes will play anything from my library, stuff I've bought and my own stuff.
Why is iTunes halting everytime right after it opens with that darn Keychain dialog?!
My goal is for iTunes to work like it used to. To initialize and open up without modal dialogs, and await commands.
What can I do? Downgrade iTunes is the only thing I can think of...
    TIA
