Audible Books not showing in playlist

I have my Audible books synched up in my iPad. When I go to the iPod application and select "Audiobooks" it shows a book icon that says "Audible (5 Books)" but when I click on this icon the list appears empty.
The only way I can play the books is going through the iPad search and typing a part of the title. I am then able to play it, although it still will not show in the library. I can not use the search function within the library, it has to be the main iPad search.
Most of my books are using the "Enhanced" format (it is compatible since I can play them). I am also selecting specific books from the "Books" tab in iTunes. I tried choosing the option to sync all books and the only change is that the folder will show a higher number.
Any ideas on how to get the titles to show in the list.
Mario

    On my new mac mini    I brought some books  from Audible  they appear in iTunes
    under "Books" but they do not appear under the home sharing and I am unable to tranfeer

    Just in case anyone else has this problem, here is what Apple replied to me: "Dear Carol, Greetings from Apple iTunes Customer Support. I am Sayantan and I am glad to assist you today. I understand you are unable to share audio books using home sharing. I know how upsetting it can be. I will help you with this. Unfortunately, you cannot share iTunes Store Audio Books, Audible spoken word content, or QuickTime sound files. In accordance with iTunes Store policy, you may share the music in your library and playlists with up to five other computers, provided the following conditions are met: 1. Your computer is using Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. 2. The other computers are on the same local area network as your computer, in the same subnet. To share a song in a password-protected shared library or playlist, you will need to enter a password. To share a song that was purchased using an iTunes Store account that is not authorized on the computer you are using, you will need to enter the Apple ID and password with which the song was purchased. You can share MP3, AIFF, WAV, AAC, and radio station links, but you cannot share iTunes Store Audio Books, Audible spoken word content, or QuickTime sound files. To prevent other computers on your network from seeing or listening to songs in your library or playlists, turn off music sharing. More detailed instructions about sharing music may be found in the Help menu. In iTunes, select iTunes Help from the Help menu. Click "Contents," type "sharing" (without quotes) in the search box, and press Enter. To read more about one of the topics that appears, double-click it. Carol, thank you for being a valued customer, your satisfaction is of the utmost importance. If you have further queries please write back to me. I will be happy to help you. Have a great day! Sincerely, Sayantan

  • Books not showing up in iTunes HomeSharing.

    I have an odd problem. I am sharing my iTunes library from my iMac on the local network (ran through an Airport Extreme). On my girlfriend's MacBook Pro, the iTunes library shows up nicely, and shows/plays Music, Films, Podcasts etc... EXCEPT... Books.
    That is to say, the Books category is showing up in the list of the Shared Library on the MacBook Pro, but it is empty, while I have a dozens of books and PDF's in that library. As mentioned, Musics, Films and everything else that is supposed to be shared shows up as it should, and plays.
    Both Macs are running OS X 10.6.8 and the latest version of iTunes, 10.4.
    Naturally, Books are ticked in the Sharing tab of the Preference tab of the iMac iTunes library.
    I can't for the life of me figure this one out. Any thoughts anyone?

    I am having the exact same issue, but running my shared media folder on a Mac Pro Lion Server.  On that computer everything works fine.  Neither our Lion iMac nor brand new MacBook Air see any books in the shared iTunes Media folder.  They see and can access everything else.  Books are a mix of epubs and pdfs. Prior to tonight's 10.4.1 update, the books list was at least visible on my older MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.  Now that has stopped working.  Installing 104.1 did nothing to fix books not showing up in the shared library on the Lion Macs.

  • Book not showing on iPad

    I bought a PDF book (not from the iBookstore) and added it to the books in iTunes for my iPad Air and then ran the sync and it showed the reduced available space showing the book was transferred to the ipad, but when I open iBooks on the iPad the book isn't there, only the two previously transferred books both bought from the iBookstore. I sync my iPhone and iPad with the Mac and not the iCloud but the other books transferred from the Mac. And iBooks on the Mac wobn't open the book, it's open it in Acrobat. This is a *** with iBooks or is it just how it works?

    Well, not quite.
    IBooks will open PDF's in iBooks you buy or get free from the Apple iBookstore.
    The PDF book you opened isn't from the iBookstore and yet you opened it in iBooks.
    It will sync PDF's you load into iTunes but iBooks on the iPad won't recognize and list them. I added the PDF to iTunes, it showed and uploaded it, but iBooks didn't show it.
    You may have added it to iTunes, but when it showed in the 'Books" tab when the iPad was connected to your computer, and you selected it, it could only have been recognised through the 'Books' tab which shows the books/pdfs you have in iBooks, not in iTunes. So, as I said earlier it's useless adding PDFs to iTunes for syncing. If it's not showing up in iBooks on your iPad you're either not syncing correctly or there is something wrong with the PDF. Here is a link to syncing pdfs and ebooks:

    I don't use iCloud for backups as the backup through the iCloud removes your backups on your Mac. It's not an option, it's what it does, and once done, unless you have exported other backups, all you backups are on iCloud.
    Rubbish. Backing up to the iCloud doesn't delete any backups on your computer. Where'd you get that from?

    Reinstalling Office is a bit extreme. All you needed to do was click on the Office button and view add-ins.

  • IPad books not showing in iTunes wish list

    Some time ago I added some iPad only books to my iTunes wish list, however they do not show up.
    They are still included in the count of items in my wish list and the price to buy all but I can't see them at all.
    Does anyone know how to either view them or clear my wish list?

    Just want to bump this topic. I've got the same issue: added some books to my Wish List in the iTunes Store via the iTunes app on my MacBook, and they don't show up when I look at the Wish List. I then deleted every item in the Wish List, but the Wish List still lists two items even though the Wish List is empty. There doesn't appear to be any way to delete items in the Wish List if you can't see them. Weird!

  • Audible Book Not Transfering

    I have two audible books that are actually part 1 and part 2 of the same audible book that I got through a e-book store. It was imported in to Itunes, but won't transfer over to my ipod. When I try to it says it won't transfer because I am not authorized to play them on this computer. But there's apparently no way to get them authorized.

    Hi Tackleberry
    The Audible authorization requires a Audible 'user name' and 'password.' Audible allows their books to be downloaded to three computers. It keeps track. If you do not know the Audible account, you may have to get your own account.
    I have done this recently to share my wife's account.

  • All Audible Books Not Imported in Books Libary?

    I found a few that weren't imported. Then I do a File/Add File to Libary. The book will show up in List View, but not in Cover View.
    Any ideas how to get it to show in Cover View?

  • Purchased book not showing up for syncing

    I purchased a book ages ago (before iBooks was on the iPhone) and I can't get it to sync with my iPhone now that iBooks is on my phone.
    It doesn't show up on the sync options in iTunes but it does show up in the Books library on iTunes.
    Sync Bookmarks and Notes and Sync Collections are switched on, on my iPhone.
    I've tried Syncios but it only wants to sync non iTunes purchased books, not the iBooks format.
    Any ideas?
    Versions
    iTunes 11.2.0.115
    iOS 8.1.2
    iBooks 4.1.1

    Not all ibooks are compatible with iPhones, some can only be read on iPads and Mac computers - if you got to the book's description page in the store does it say that you should be able to read it on an iPhone ? If it is compatible (and it's still in the store) then it should show in the Purchased tab in the iBooks app on your phone for redownloading.
    The 'sync collections' setting does not copy books and/or PDFs between devices/computers, all it does is if you have a book or PDF on a device or computer and you move it into a collection on it, then on the other devices/computers that you have that book/PDF on(and the 'sync collections' setting is 'on') it will be moved into the same collection - but it won't copy it onto a device or computer, you need to sync/copy/download it onto each device/computer that you want it.

  • Downloaded book not showing up

    I downloaded an audio book over the weekend on my Macbook and it's not showing up on my desktop - can you help?

    You will need to Report a Problem to iTunes. You should have received an email receipt of your purchase, in that email there is a Report a Problem link, click on that and explain your issue.
    This is the forum section for the iBooks app for iOS devices, it has nothing to do with audiobooks.

  • Sony Reader - books not showing up in Borrowed folder

    Hi, I'm having tremendous difficulty getting Digital Editions to work properly with my Sony Reader.  When borrowing books from the library, they often do not show up at ALL in Digital Editions or, when they do, they remain only in main "library" folder and do not ever show up in the "borrowed" folder.   I'm hoping this is a simple error I've made, but I'm seriously stumped and ready to toss the thing, lol.
    Thanks for any help you can offer.
    Kat

    ADE2.0/2.0.1 does not work correctly with Sony ereaders when using Overdrive library books.
    v1.7.2 works fine for me with my Sony and library books.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
    (You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
    Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
    The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
    Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
    It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
    Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
  • Help! Audible files not showing up on my ZEN!
    - >I hope this isn't a repeat question, but I've been through about 3 pages of this thread and haven't found it. I need help with .aa (Audible) files. They're on the MP3 (Zen), because I can see them with the Zen Media Explorer, but they don't show up anywhere on my Zen. Plus, it's difficult to load them in the first place. The Zen usually freezes up. I think that last part may be the fault of my p.o.c. computer, but I'm not sure. Please help! I own about 20 Audio books, and I WANT to listen to them! I tried contacting both Audible & Creative, and just got the run-around. I've been send a link to something from microsoft, but it's a dead link. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    I am going to make a couple assumptions:
    . you have Audible files from Audible.com (as opposed to generic audiobooks from something like NetLibrary)
    2. you have an account with Audible.com (you don't have to continue to pay to keep your account)
    3. you are familiar with Audible Manager software
    There is no problem at all using Audible Manager software for Audible content and other software to sync the rest of your stuff. I do this.
    If you sync your books with Audible Manager, you are going to have to make your new player an authorized player on that computer in Audible Manager. You have a limit to how many players you can have, and also how many per computer. You might have to "bump" an older player (the "Burn CD" option counts as a player)
    Your Audible content will sync after you sign in and "authorize" your new player. It will go into the "Music" section. You find it by looking for the author, title, OR (easiest in my opinion) the Audiobook genre. Let us know here how this worked out.
  • Previously purchased books not showing in 'Purchased' collection?
    For some reason my purchased books (with the exception of those not yet downloaded to this machine), are no longer showing up in the 'Purchased' collection. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but I have begun to rely on the collection to seperate the Books bought from the iBooks store from those obtained from other sources such as Project Gutenberg.
    Though I can still see the purchased books listed in iTunes when viewing my purchases through the iTunes store, I'd like to see them in the iBooks 'Purchased' collection.
    The only thing I can think of that might have caused this, though it seems unlikely, is I deleted the cache recently.
    It looks like at some point in history, iTunes created a new 'Purchased' playlist.
    This playlist is a special one, but behaves like a normal playlist.
    You can add your previous purchases to it.
    Another way is to create a new Smart Playlist and set as rule:
    Kind - contains - protected
    That playlist will always be up-to-date and contains all your purchases.
    Hope this helps.
  • Books not showing up on my iPad
    I have books that my Mac's iBooks see which don't show up on my iPad.    If I uncheck "All books" in the iTunes "books" tab, I can scroll down and see the books, but then I check "All books" again (Sync Books is checked), and I don't see the books I'm looking for on my iPad.    iTunes says there are 318 books synced, and on my iPad, it takes a lot of scrolling to find books (Why can't there be an alphabetic short cut the way Contacts has?)
    I do have some books that don't sort correctly - as in it getting confused about first and last name of an author (is that fixable by me?).    Maybe I'm just not finding the books.   Other book readers make it easier - or at least obvious - to find books.
    My iPad's iBooks is set to show"All books", and doesn't hide iCloud books.
    I just tested by telling my iTunes to sync all books to my phone.    A book I was looking for showed up there.    It still is missing from my pad.
    i have had the same problem since upgrading to ios 8.  it happened again today.  connected ipad and opened itunes.  itunes shows 5 books on ipad when i in reality i have over 1500 books on the ipad.  the books on  the ipad are there, i can read them with no problem.  the only books that itunes will recognize are the purchased books.  I have talked to apple numerous times and finally have had  my case escalated to the engineering group.  It seems to me the problem is this.....whatever the ipad sends to itunes to show what is on it is getting corrupted in this version of iOS....never had the first problem with iOS 7.  i can't add new books because if i sync i will lose all of the books that are there now.  have restored the ipad a bunch of times, connected it directly to my imac bypassing the usb hub, restored as a new ipad thinking the backup might be corrupted.  the problem still exists and i think Apple needs to deal with it quickly because it does the same thing in Yosemite.  Tried it on the beta version of Yosemite same deal....  No way i am upgrading to Yosemite at this point....will keep the forum informed of what Apple says...
  • Audio book not showing on ipad
    I can not see my audio books on my ipad without searching for them from search ipad. I have synced the ipad with my computer using wireless and cable but nothing shows up in music > more for audio books. I am using the updated 7.0.3. I synced my iphone and they show up. I origanally downloaded the books on my ipad, but I have synced with my computers itune a few times. Any help would be appreciated.
    When you use the search box are you able to then select the audiobooks and play them, and do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music ?
    Have you tried closing the Music app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if you get the Audiobooks tab at the bottom of the Music app when you re-open the app ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Music app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
