I'm installing a new image of my windows xp with sp2, but I'm having a problem.. when I try to configure my audio with inspire 6.1, with speaker calibrator, every time appears to me a error, ever, on my left front box... when I come back to my old windows, this error don?t exist...
all the drivers are updates
and the software updates too
it'ss crazy 'coz when I use the Thx?s test, it works...
any ideia ?

when I try to configure my inspire 6600 with Creative Speaker Settings, I choose 6.1 configurations and ... the first box don?t make any sound (front left) ... the another is ok.
when I try the Calibration... the same error, with a difference... the box are with a differente configuration... for exemple... front left plays the sound, but plays in the center back box... when I configure the THX, the samething happnes when I try the Speaker Settings.
in windows sound setting I try 5.1... 7.1.. since windows don't have any 6.1 configuration...
I think this only happens with the new driver...

Connecting creative inspire 6600 to the ddts-100 decoder

ok so i was sedused by the idea of getting a ddts-100 to my inspire 6600 speakers,but the fact is i need to know some information:
the first thing is:will i be able to connect my speakers to the decoder and then to the soundcard?
my speakers have only RCA jacks for the satellites to connect them to the amp,and the amp have 3 assebled wires,3.5mm ones...my soundcard have also 3 connectors for the speakers,no digital output or optical,..only 3 connectors for the 3.5mm...so will i be able to connect it and then will it be able to reproduce sound like it was doing before?
2-the decoder says it can decode dolby digital ex,dts es,i don't know if i am saying this right but,sometimes we say decoding in 24bits/96khz .....its the dvd quality right? then will the decoder DECODE the dvd source in 24bits/96khz or is it the job of the soundcard?
3-will the decoder improve the listening experience in quality or surround?in case of dvd playing i know it would,but in case of listening to music?

Creative Inspire 6600 Not Working Properly!

I bought my Inspire 6600 6.1 about 1 year and 3 months ago. Since recently my speakers have stopped working from time to time, for example the speakers will not work at all one day the next day it will work perfectly. The problem is that the speakers wont give any sound out, will be very low sound, high amount of static and it will jump from speaker to speaker (I Cant Explain The Problem Properly). I am really disappointed with how long these speakers lasted (How long the speakers didn?t last). It seems to be a complete waist of money because as soon as the warranty expires the speakers stop working. Now I may have to purchase a new set of speakers, one thing I will garniture you that I won't buy Creative Speakers Again. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please help!

it seams to me that creative had had a lot of trouble with their 6.1 range, both the 6600 and the 6700 have major problems with them and this kind of thing happens. i just gave up fixing mine and bought me a set of p5800 which are fantastic, downgrading from the 6.1 to 5.1 wasnt nice but im happy with it now. honestly mate i dont think its all creative speakers that have this problem just the 6600 and the 6700.but if you are going to buy another set of creative speakers have a search for them on the forum first, see if people and if so how many people have a problem with them. that way you have a better idea.

Inspire 6600 stopped working...

Sound is very sketchy... If I turn the volume dial on the volume controller...it works sometimes and then cuts out. I ordered a new volume controller and it does the same thing. I checked all connections and everything seems okay..wires all look good. Was working for 2 years and all of a sudden this has happend. Do you think I should now order a new a/c adaptar? Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.

if you read my threads you will know i had the same problem with my 6700, i tried differnt remote, power supply and cables. so i can only assume its a problem witht he circut board in the sub.
i just bought a new system. if any one wants any of my 6700 for parts then pm me and ill see what i can do.

Inspire 6600 - Hear right sounds before left!

I just got these 6.1 speakers from my brother, and I'm noticing that the right speakers project their sound some split second before the left. It's driving me crazy! Especially when I hear the drums having some kinda extra beat, and the vocals sound like it's got chorus on (no, I don't have chorus effects on or anything like that). Can anyone direct me to a solution?

I just figured out it was an issue with Winamp... sorry!

Inspire 6.1 6600 MOD Tissue BOX

So, i took one of satellites from my inspire 6600 just because my klipsch promedia 5.1 ultras eliminated the need to ever use those again, and i Decided that I wanted to take it apart and play around with it. But after carrying it around with me for a while i decided that i wanted to put the actual speaker somewhere without the case. I was with my friend and we couldnt think of anywhere untill we saw the tissue box on the counter and at once we realized that this tissue box was destined to play music. After a few hours of messing around with the speakers, and taking apart other various electronics for parts, wires etc. we finally came up with our final product, a tissue box with 0watts of speaker power coming out of it. Well we had fun with that and thank god that we still have the 5 other satellites from the 6.1 system to mess around with. With my experience with creative, the speaker systems are not suposed to be operated at full volume, at full bass enhan*****t. The reasons are:
1) The power supply will be one-third more capable than the speaker rating. So, full amplification of the sound signal is not preferable.
2) Even if the fidility of sound card is excellent with more than 98 dB SNR, the amplifier at the speaker system need not be as good as that at the card (because, it amplifies the signal to much higher a value)
3) As I have seen with most of the speaker systems (including high end theatres), the bass enhan*****t is fully functional with woofer and subwoofers of more than 100 watt RMS. That too will exhibit chattering after an year or two, at high volumes.

Inspire 6.1 6600 Sound

Hi,
Recently i have bought creative inspire 6.1 6600 speaker set....
I have ASROCK P4i45GV motherboard......And it has built-in sound card....When i connect the speaker set to my PC i am able to connect 4 speakers and Sub woofer too. I am able to hear the sound from all the 4 speakers and that sound will be same in all 4 speakers..(It will not be different in each speaker) Remaining two speakers i am not using ....Right now i am not planning to buy any sound card ..
when i keep the bass full and increase the volume, after half stage the sound starts shaking...Meaning i wont be able to hear the complete sound...
According to me there should not be any problem with the sound even i keep both bass and volume high .But the same is not happening with my inspire 6600......
So whats the problem?Do you think any problem with the particular set...........
Moderator plz help me in this regard.

Can't install EAX cons

On an audigy 2. I downloaded the console from the website and when I try to install it says
"Setup did not detect the required components. Setup will exit."
Using the beta drivers atm, but get the same thing with the non beta drivers. I've tried the ctcomp fix but that didn't work either. I've also lost my installation cd but downloaded the cd image from here and THAT didn't work either.
At a loss here .. any suggestions?

Can't instal EAX-Cons

Its says that the setup detected a new version of EAX-Console but i can't find that!
Only this i found C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2ZS\EAX when i click on the EAX-Console icon it won't launch!

Audigy 2 ZS platinum sound distorted and muff

Too bad one cant rant as one might like in this forum. Had writtend all the details that transpired but when i pressed the submit post, my original post was lost due to expiration of time for my ticket.
Now, i use telegraph details.
Bought Audigy 2 ZS platinum, bad sound Distorted and muffled from the speakers except center speaker and no sound at all from rear center speaker. Same setup using Audigy Platinum, zero problems.

Is the sound muffled and distorted when you plug headphones into the headphone out on the platinum dri've? If not, plug the headphones into the sound card's front output and run a speaker test to see if it is muffled and distorted from there. If it is then it is most likely a problem with the card's hardware. If this is the case I would suggest exchanging it for another through your retailer. Volume Fading Problems

I have a Creative Inspire 6600, and I am having problems regarding the volume output of the speakers. While listening to music or playing games, the sound sometimes fades and then suddenly comes back after a while. It is as if the volume is shifting from low to high, which is quite annoying. I've already tried the speakers with a Soundblaster Live 5.1 as well as a built-in soundcard, and also changed motherboards. Any solutions to this problem? Any help will be appreciated.

Yes there is a manual way of fixing this but requires skill and time but you have to take apart the remote and look where you would turn the volume up or down and look for any wires that me be loose or off and if not look at the connections that may be worn and have to be adjusted on the chipboard but I warn you this will void your warenty and creative will no longer be responsible for this so I warn you again and only if your technicialy advanced in this stuff that I detour thoughs not to try this.
If everything looks good them most likley a resistor or transistor or even a cap has failed and will need to be replaced.

Inspire 6.1 6600 Repair??ANYBODY??

After about 3 years of reliable usage, my Inspire 6.1 sub took a dump. It just made a "BOOMP" sound and power went off. I checked internal fuse and it's fine,... anybody know where I can get this repaired?
Creative just wants to sell me a NEW system and charge me $2.99 for a "Tech Session" for trouble shooting........

I have REALLY been considering switching to iPod's and with the lack of customer service I am getting from Creative,.... I might just go that direction. I have been told I "won't look back".
Since I can't even get schematics (thats "Internal Map" ??,...for SOME Creative tech people),......... to have my Inspire 6.1 6600 system repaired (which from the looks of this forum is a COMMON PROBLEM ),..... I guess maybe I'd be better off spending my $$$ somewhere else.

Creative inspire 6.1 6600

Hello Creative Staff,
I need help with a very delicate situation.
I have bought the Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 from my dad in
Europe and i guess that problem just starts off then. It runs with 230V ~ 50Hz 39mA and the AC adaptor is 3.5V ~5A 67.5VA
I'm not a technician, but i know enough that i need to get a power tramsformer;
but the problem is what kind of trnsformer do i need in order to make things work
right the first time?
can anyone help me with this one?
P.S I also bought the USB Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit. just to let you guys know.

If you need a transformer to use a power supply from a different country, you'd really need to speak to an electrical store in your area to see if they can supply you with one. We don't make or supply any of these.
