Audigy 1 & Audig

I have an Audigy 2 ZS OEM internal soundcard supplied with a new Dell computer, question is can i connect this to my older Audigy front dri've panel. If these are not compatible can somebody please advise as to where I can purchase a new Audigy 2 front dri've panel in the United Kingdom.
Thanks.

Hi
Beware of that addon Catherina pointed, since your card is OEM. If you ask Creative Technical Support, they might say, they don't know, if it works with your card!
I just got reply from Creative support and they statet they have nothing to do with OEM produts (see below).
If I were you, I would ask this matter from OEM card supplier, and not here.
.jtp
P.S.
I was asking from support if my Audigy 2 OEM card would be ASIO 24/96 compatible.
After several nonsense replies, they finally statet something I would not like to read eg. "Not all Creative cards are Creative cards"?
Here is the message I got from Creative Technical Support
(Note: Reply came with no real name given for person who send it!!! First 3-4 replies
came signed with true names (i guess thhey were)(What, are they scared of something?))!
<i>Thank you for emailing Creative Labs Technical Support!
If your Creative product came pre-installed, in an antistatic bag, or
distributed with your computer system, then it is likely that you have
an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) product. OEM products are often
specifically customized for the PC manufacturer who ships them, and
therefore the PC manufacturer is the primary source for support and
warranty requests regarding the OEM product.
Our extensi've Knowledge Base includes a variety general support
information that ranges from 'how to' articles and general installation
instructions that may also apply to your OEM product. In some cases, OEM
drivers can even be found on our site for a limited number of products.
However, unless a Knowledge Base article or driver listing states it is
for your specific OEM product, you should always contact your original
supplier for all hardware, driver, and other technical issues.
If you wish to receive Creative Technical Support please purchase one of
the retail version of our soundcard.
OEM soundcards are materialy different than the retail version and we do
not have any of the technical details. Therefore, we cannot offer any
assistance unless you have a soundcard that we support.
Please email us if you have any further questions or comments.
Thank you for choosing Creative!

My card says it's made by Creative (printed on board and label (ser.no)) but they wont support me, because it was bundled in an antistatic bag (+ CD + MIDI/Joystick bracked).
Just wondering am I fooled?

  • Audigy 2 ZX Platinum + Audig

    I have installed about a year ago on my PC a second sound card and now I have:? Audigy 2 ZX Platinum with external box - Default Sound Card Audigy 2?I use them because I have a small home studio so I plug in all my instruments and it allows me to record in real time with effects several instruments and mics. They are working in perfection!?The only problem I have is that the remote is no longer working with the external box. It's not a battery problem... I think it's some kind of conflict due having another sound card installed. Is there something I can do so I can use the remote again?Thank you!

    Anybody?

  • Which one to buy: Audigy 2 ZS or Audig

    I'd like to buy quality sound card, but I'm confused. I don't know which one will be suitable for my needs. I need it for music (85%, listening, not production)) and gaming (5%). I don't want to buy X-FI, because it doesn't work on Linux (it's my main platform).
    Which one to buy?

    lol, should have phrased that question better. Audigy 4 as its newer, better and more powerfull than audigy2 zs. also audigy 4 has seperate jacks for headphones line in and out. i rip vinyl to mp3, so need seperate line in/out. that is why i never bought an x-fi card, has stupid 3 way jack going on there.

    Anyone been able to get the audigy drivers from opensource.creative.com to work? I try to compile them but I get errors for the kernel source not being in the right place....speaking of which, where do I get the kernel source for the stock kernel in .4?

    I'm not home (near on my arch cd-rom) currently but as I recall the kernel source is either on the root of the disc or on the arch dir. To install creative drv's compile your kernel (make sure u select sound support -not emu10k1- and oss if u want sequencer support) and boot it. If everything is ok, mv /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/linux-arch and "ln -sf /usr/src/linux-2.4.20 /usr/src/linux". Then simply untar the drv pkg, edit config and run make twice & then make install & make tools.
    My suggestion is to use cvs version of the drivers cause they work better with audigies (I have a plain sblive so can't confirm that )

  • Audigy SB0090 Original Installation

    Where can I get such CD? I bought the card at a flea market, for $0, and the drivers on the Creative website are kind of sucky. I have tried to use the CD's probided by Badboy, but everytime I dowload the cd, it tells me that there is a CRC error on the ISO file when unzipping it. Any other suggestions or anyone that would be kind as to upload their cd, and I can get a copy of it's?Thank you. Stuserver

    If it's installed correctly, device manager should ID the card as Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM). If you have other listing like SB Audig Audio then it's most probably using Windows nati've driver and not Creative driver. I bet your other Creative application cannot be launch and would tell you that cannot detect the correct hardware and similar stuff.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Pro digital output and Windows XP Pro

    Recently "upgraded" my system to Windows XP Pro X64. My soundcard, an Audigy 2 ZS Pro, connects to my logitech 5. digital speakers via the front coaxial connector, no longer seems to output digital signal. The speakers indicate that there is no signal from the coaxial connection. I can hear sound from headphone through the analog output though.
    Before the upgrade, I had everything working, but I don't remember all the details I went through to get it to work.
    I have installed latest driver for Windows XP X64 from Creative, and I have modified the setting to bypass onboard decoding. Is there anything else I need to do? Online documentation talks about applications that I don't seem to have. Is there a X64-compatible application I need to run to get this to work? Thanks.
    George

    Okay Robert, I downloaded and installed your 6.25 drivers and they work fine. However, the Audigy 4 pro software, http://files.filefront.com/Pax+Audig.../fileinfo.html, does not install anything but drivers, no software applications. I looked on your board and could not find any definati've method for resolving this problem.
    Perhaps you or someone else who is familiar with installing the software apps would care to provide a detailed solution.

  • Audigy 2 zs installation

    hi all , got the audigy 2 zs retail. seem to be having problems since i got it. after installing the drivers some games dont recognise it (like eax wont enable). some just dont play music at times. and when i look at the description of the sound card it says "SB Audig Audio[A000]", this is in control panel (sound and audio devices) also. even in winamp. i installed the drivers twice after a clean sweep, last time with creative's help. i thought i come here before geting the run around again with them. i have a feeling that the card is not working at optimal level(maybe only at the audigy levelor something) like the descrition it gives. anyone else have this problem. i have it in my #2 pci slot . # and #3 is empty(before #3 had a realtek ethernet card, i took it out after installing the audigy the first time to free up the pci slots but the driver wont uninstall though, it keeps comming back after the reboot). ill get the motherboard spec later i have to contact COMPAQ in the morning for that. till then any idea would help me.

  • SB Audigy 2 ZS with gold connectors OEM (sb0350-perha

    Hello,?I've bought this card on an online?auction service. I have a question couse the drivers are not included. Where can I download proper drivers. I've "googled" searching for?them but i've only found and downloaded an audigi 2 CD, and separate audigy 2 zs drivers. The question is, will it work to install the drivers form the separate setup and then the rest of software form the CD ISO. Can anyone PM / give me a link to the proper CD ISO i would be thankfull, couse i'll get this cart within few days and i want to be prepared to install the software. Thanx

    Lord_Nerevar,
    SB0350 is a retail A2ZS. The model number is embedded in the serial number except that the final digit may be different. If this is a Dell OEM A2ZS, the full model number should be sb0358 (sb0359 for HP, sb0355 for Gateway). You might want to check that.

  • Audigi 4 Pro - No replacement product

    Hi,
    I have an Audigi 4 Pro which has served me well for the last 5/6 years if not more.
    It still works but its only PCI, as more motherboards are designed without PCI slots its becoming harder to keep it going whilst supporting new technologies to the max. I started to look for a replacement, which I would have thought could easily turn to Creative Labs again, but I can't, there is no direct replacement available. There are no breakout boxes, and new cards dont have the connectors available to be able to plug in an Audigy 4 break out box.
    Are there any plans for some breakout boxes with a newer PCIe card?
    Its not like I can turn to another manufacturer, E-MU also?lack a break out box and no one else does them?
    I thought this was what made Creative Labs?above the rest, but clearly?a poor strategy has been put in place.
    Thanks,

    What do you mean by E-MU lack of break out box? http://www.emu.com/products/product....9&product=9007 have it.
    I think it was poor stategy to produce all-in-one products with no real value in any of advertised applications. There is no true market for such things.
    Au 4 Pro even lacks 44. with exceptionally low quality resampling and have relati'vely poor inputs for the price. Also lacking balanced in/out for home studio monitors and related equipment. Also this card combines top quality CS4398 DAC for high PR SNR value with lowest quality opamps like NJM 4558. A4 Pro is garbage, almost immediately replaced by much more advanced X-Fi Elite Pro. Still if you serious about recording and mixing even a bit, then E-MU branded products is much better.

  • Why do X-Fi Drivers provide more functionality than the Audigy 2 Drive

    The X-Fi Drivers work with the majority of Audigy 2 soundcards. Why do Creative not mention this? It even allows Audigy 2 users to use Alchemy!
    It's obvious more people are having better luck with these drivers but it seems Creative don't realise they have backwards compatibility.
    Ok, sure you have to extract the download file yourself. But there's more functionality there. Why do Creative do this?

    They don't provide more functionality!? And it doesn't allow you to use ALchemy!?Creative's WDM drivers for DSP-based soundcards have always been architected on a common driver basis, but it doesn't mean the drivers will make an Audigy a X-Fi or vice versa. These drivers are more like NVIDIA's Forceware and ATI Catalyst... ALchemy does not load on the Audigy no matter what drivers you use, because it looks for EAX5 support before initialising. And usually the X-Fi version,?despite having a newer version number, has a positioning problem under OpenAL when used on Audigies.

  • Attached mixing board with audigy sound card probl

    i am using a mixing board with an audigy sound card the porgram im using has 2 channels a and b the music plays only on one port i used to be able to sue up the 2 different songs on 2 volume controls now both songs play in the 2 channels but sound is only controlled by one volume control?it has played properly for over 3 years with no problems until tonight?anyone have any ideas?thanks

    Okay, I'm assuming you mean you have a stereo connection to rear Line-out and 2 and that you want both Line-outs to play the same stereo signal. If you are trying for something different, then post additional explanation, and we can go from there. I have not heard of an SB9400 before. You should be able to find the serial number on a white sticker on the card. That would identify the model. I think all Audigies have a Speaker Settings applet. So in Speaker Settings, do you have 4/4. speakers selected? If you have an EAX Console, do you have a CMSS3D option? (It might be called simply CMSS on some Audigies.) If so, select that. If you have a stereo surround option, select that. For the Audigy 2 ZS, for example, CMSS3D stereo surround will route the same stereo signal to Line-out & 2 (and optionally to Line-out 3).

  • Windows no longer detecting my Audigy 4?(Non-P

    Hey all. I've had my Audigy 4 (non-Pro) installed and working super for about 50 days, but it started giving me a weird problem. Windows was no longer detecting the card! It was weird. DX Diag, programs like EVEREST... they all report no sound card whatsoever.
    Here are my PC specs:
    XP Home Edition
    Albatron K8X800 Pro
    S754 3200+ ClawHammer
    x 2 OCZ ELPE 52 MB(2-3-2-5)
    Visiontek XTASY X850XT PE
    x 80 GB SATA 2 Seagate, x 80 GB Maxtor
    Some other things to note:
    XP has been repaired. Went from Service Pack , updates, and all the way to Service Pack 2. The card requires XP w/SP2, yes, so I have that covered.
    Onboard audio is disabled through the bios. I have AC'97 integrated audio on this.
    My motherboard has fi've PCI slots - although I can only access 4 because my video card is in the way, and I have tried three of those and I get the same problem.
    I have tried it in other PCs in my house, double-checked each time - so it is not ESD as I originally believed. It works just fine on those PCs. It is being not located only on MY PC.
    So guys and gals, I do not know what to do... I am stumped. It's the weekend so I can't call Creative support until Monday. I don't want to request an RMA through my warranty because clearly it's just a problem with my PC. What should I do?!Message Edited by Celsius on -26-2005 07:36 PM

  • Lock ups and Freezing solved on my Audig

    After days of trying different stuff to resolve this problem where screen locks up and looping squealing plagued my computer, I think I have finally resolved the problem. It appears that one of the programs running in my system tray was the culprit. I shut down everything in my system tray and then tried BF2 and it finally worked and has been working consistently. I do not know yet which program was causing the problem ( I'm still working on finding which one), but I have weeded out my antivirus (AVG free), my firewall?(Zonealarm),? Musicmatch Jukebox ( which I really suspected, but does not appear to be the one) and ?my Logitech wireless mouse software. Still got to reactivate Quicktime, Corecenter ( an MSI overclocking tool) Nastromo loadout manager, Instant Messenger and a couple of others. What ever the conflict in the program that is causing the problem is directly conflicting with my Audigy 2 card. I could remove the card and the problem would go away using onboard sound. But I was very disturbed that my Audigy 2 was not working. I tried removing ram, I tried using different pci slots, and lets not count the number of times that I removed and reinstalled drivers and software. Though I well give a little credit to finding the problem to this forum. There is a post advising to go to msconfig and disabling a bunch of the start up programs while doing driver removal and reinstall. After reinstalling last driver I went ahead and ran BF2 before restarting computer ( while all programs in systray were off ) and it ran flawlessly. Then I restarted computer all my normal background software loaded up. I fired up BF2 and bam there was the same old lockup and squeal. So I just went to the system tray and shut down everything and it runs smooth as butter. Hope this helps I know from reading the forums there are alot other people having the same problem.

    I would be concerned that you may have a power supply going bad. Unfortunately the only way to test this theory is to replace it. If you do replace it may sure you get one that is rated at a high enough wattage to supply your system. I use a 500 watt power supply. I have had power supplies to go bad on me in the past. Sometimes the power supplies will not go entirely out, they just stop producing as much power as they normally would. This can cause some weird things to happen in your system. I've had one go bad and it was providing enough juice to let my computer cut on, but the video card wasn't getting enough?juice to operate thus I was getting a blank screen. I would also like to know if you are overclocking. Sometimes overclocking can cause heat issues that could cause a similar problem to what you are having.

  • Creative Audigy 2 NX OLD and undercapable drivers are way below industry standa

    Hello All,
    I have tried not to push this, for the past year, but I have really reached the end of my patience. The driver support for the Audigy 2 NX (USB-External) sound card is nearly 'non-exsistant'and it is have a major adverse effect on my gaming.
    It has been more than a year since Creative has taken the time to provide the many owners of the Audigy 2 NX -USB sound card with a driver that is anywhere near the capabilities of the sound chip in our device. We do NOT have support for Open AL, we do not have 'REAL' support for EAX 3 or 4 (I mean a driver that REALLY works on most; Lucasarts, EA, and Valve games), and NO HD 'Dependable' support in games or DVD play back.
    This is a crime, seeing as this card costs JUST as MUCH as the Audigy 2 ZX (that I also own, and bought FIRST for my HP zd8230us... and used until HP Tech support told me to NOT use the PCMCIA card) and yet has Half the features and lass than /4 the driver support... for the same money!! That is right, I said 'Crime', because I have been buying and using ONLY Creative cards for the past years and have never EVER seen Creative turn their backs on a product the way they have done with the Audigy 2 NX.
    Let me be 'Brutally Honest' about the lack of support and 'Expanding Use' of a FINE audio chipset. While Creative has regularlly expanded the features and use of the chipset in the ZS notebook card (added EAX 4.0 support, refined the HD support, and made regular driver updates), they have left the owners of the NX sound card BACK in the 20th Century. There is NO support for; EAX 4.0, Open AL, OR THX for my NX the very same people have gone out of their way to provide ALL of those features and regular updates and expansion of these SAME features in the ZX Notebook card. I have both of these cards, and have used both in my HP Pavilion zd8230us Notebook computer. I have to be clear and precise, the difference in; sound, use, and capabilities of the ZX to the NX is like putting a SB 'Li've' card against and Audigy 4 card. I paid the exact same amount of money for BOTH cards, yet (because my mobo does not support the PCMCIA card) I am left with this 'Black Sheep' of the Creative family, and this has me at the point I am seriously thinking of never buying another Creative product for ANY of my four desktops and one notebook in my entire life.
    I am experiancing problems with the NX card on; Half Life 2 and HL2 - Episode , ANY Lucasarts game (they work sometimes and mostly do NOT), MOST EA Games titles, and Activision games are not much better. In my current notebook hardware, my Audigy 2 NX is the 'Weak Link' in the chain. I have a Pentium 4 HT 650 (3.4Ghz-800 Mhz FSB), ATI X-600 PCIe 28MB video card, 024 MB 533 MHz DDR2 RAM, and XP Professional with Media Center 2005. My Audigy 2 NX is what is keeping this system from reaching it's FULL and AWESOME capabilities in; Gaming, DVD playback, TV HD audio, Media Center On Line services, CD & DVD Audio playback, and every other Audio aspect of my near cutting edge system.
    This is completely unacceptable, and to add insult to injury. When ever I contact Creative support regarding updated drivers, or problems with the current *MORE than year old drivers, I am told "Creative has no plans to update or upgrade the drivers for your sound card". WOW, that is the lowest point in years of purchasing and using Creatives (usually) fine products and services. Why has Creative turned it's back on the awesome sound card/chipset and is there ANYTHING that a lifetime user of Creative products can do to get more and better support for the ONLY product you make that is compatible (as per HP) with my new notebook computer? I am dead tired of this product being the 'Bottleneck' in my system. I am frustrated, to the extreme, at the completely apathetic technical support for a 'same priced' item as the ZX.
    What can a consumer do?
    Terribly Desperate,
    Enzo Matrix

    <SPAN>OK, first; thanks for the link. It is very much appreciated. Next, this is the only card <EM>compatible</EM> with my Pavilion zd8230us (as per HP Senior Support Technicains). I was told that the Audigy 2 zx PCMICA was compatible (BY Creative), only to be told by HP that that card can and will do damage to my notebook. I find it very disturbing that Creative would suggest a product that would damage my computer! Last, the box (for the NX) says that it is 24 bit HD audio 96KHz/02db Signal to noise ratio. As well, it clearly states ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX:
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN><EM>"...EAX ADVANCED HD game effects"</EM> <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Sorry, but in English (at least <EM>American</EM> English) that means it supports EAX in games, yes? lol So, THEY Are the ones that decided to put that on the FRONT of the box, if it doesn't support it then they should have a class action lawsuit filed against them by EVERY SINGLE person that ever purchased an NX and we should be paid for; purchase price, pain and suffering, and puniti've damages. THEN Creative might learn a lesson. roflol<SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Now on to the <EM>'driver'</EM> isssue. Simple, Alexs3d2, the American consumer expects 'Driver Updates'. Why? Simple, what version of Direct X was standard when the NX came out, and what version are we using now? Microsoft sees fit to improve the API that Creative is making money off of, but Creative does NOT see the responsibility to the consumer to keep UP with the technology that we end users update on a regular basis. Next, I am tired of people dogging ATI <EM>BECAUSE</EM> they have taken on the responsibility to issue monthly driver updates! Granted, Alex, you may well understand 'what' the driver updates ARE better than the average user. However, that does NOT dismiss the BETTER PERFORMANCE that WE experience every single we update or display adapter drivers! Just because slough (on the part of SOME companies) is accepted by a small cross section of the population does not mean that the rest of us should LOWER our expectations? of the company that WE keep in business. Least THEY forget that WE are the reason they ARE in business!!! Driver updates are <EM>GOOD</EM>. Driver updates are what end users EXPECT. Any company that does not want to support a product that is still on store shelves should just pack up and leave. Period. <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Last, here is a little quote from the back of the NX box. <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <EM><SPAN>"USB 2.0 is only supported in Windows XP and REQUIRES ONLINE SOFTWARE update(s) from Microsoft and SOUNDBLASTER.COM..." <SPAN></EM>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>How the hell am I supposed to accomplish THAT when Creative <EM>screws</EM> me out of what they tell me I require? <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>In closing; this venue is not the only place that I have been sounding off a bout this problem. I have written Creative (SB) Tech support, and they are giving me 'double speak'. I have kept every single email that they have sent back, and cc'd to another email addy for verification. I li've in California, and you can not swing a dead cat without hitting an attorney. I WAS hoping that Creative would be GOOD and RESPONSIBLE partners, but they have forced my hand. I have filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, and am in the process of gathering users for the afore mentioned 'Class Action Lawsuit'. This way, the PEOPLE get to decide WHAT is responsible corporate stewardship, and <EM>IF</EM> Creative is acting in a deliberate way to misrepresent their products, and their capabilities and <EM>IF</EM> they should have to release Drivers just the way they tell us they are going to on the packaging!! <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>EnzoMatrix<SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>P.S. Umm, the whole Nazi thing... that is a bit over the top. I am Jewish, and Creative may have killed my love of their products, but I do not know of anyone that they have actually killed. If you know otherwise, let me know... that info could come in very handy in my class action lawsuit!! roflol
    <SPAN><SPAN>P.P.S. Looking at this forum, I get the impression that I am not the only person that feels screwed by SB and Creative. THAT should make for a VERY favorable jury pool for the lawsuit.
