Audigy 1 gets Vista driver -Why not SBLive? Very simil

Here's what I can't understand. Creative can do the combined Audigy Value, etc, etc for Windows Vista but leaved the HUGE install base of SBLi've users with either Microsoft's sort of working 2 channel solution, a driver only install of the Li've Uni-Pack driver which sort of works for 2 channel, or the 3rd party kXProject 3538l beta nearly?fully functional?multi channel?solution. But the Audigy is so similar to the SBLi've that the official releases for the longest time have been a unified solution for both Audigy and SBLi've. I don't get this. Why the Audigy but not the SBLi've? Lot's more users have the SBLi've. Nearly everybody bought that at the time of its heyday even if some chose to use a competitor ultimately (Santa Cruz, etc). If they think that?by not supporting the SBLi've they're going to get more X-Fi buyers they are likely mistaken. Too much negati've feedback regarding bugs on too many motherboards using the X-Fi. People will generally use the on-board audio or invest in a competitor. Creative could at least keep their existing SBLi've base in the fold by including Vista drivers in the mix. Again, why the Audigy and not the SBLi've? Doesn't make sense to me.

Can't blame anyone for not wanting to touch this one with a ten foot pole.
Anyhow, caved in and took the route of most resistance. Installed Windows7, the card works now. Seems the drivers for XP are just defunct.

    Thank

Why in the world would a person use 2 soundcards makes no sense to me .Onboard sound is crap i have never liked it ......,boards should come empty no network? card or audio because that crap they use on the motherboard is a crap . I have all that crap on my board disabled because i have a fibre home network . I see no use for copper either the cable companys should all go fibre they don't want the initial cost because they are cheap .Fibre will last alot longer than copper .We arein the year 2009 not the 70's come on .

What makes you think that. OpenAL works just fine on Audigy cards. Playing BF2 in vista sounds just the same as in XP on my A4.

  • Satellite L500-126 - CD/DVD drive does not open very smoothly

    Hi,
I just got my second Satelite L500-126.
I exchanged my first one for a new one because the ESC key got stuck sometimes and made a squeaking sound.
Now with my new one, I noticed that my dvd drive does not open very smoothly and 2 little silver metal bars come out with the drive when I open it.
    Is this normal?
Also, when I close the dvd drive i hear a little "ping!" sound.
Like a spring or something. Is this also normal?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Im not quite sure what you mean by 2 little silver metal bars but my notebooks drive contains two metals (runners, trackage).
This is normal and these parts are important to ensure that the drive could eject properly and could stay in right position.
You will always hear an short click opening and closing the drive.
So I assume this is ok.

  • SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS VE Vista Driv

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Video Editor and am running vista business, i have installed the latest creative Drivers and have been waiting for months for creative to release PROPER WORKING FULLY FUNCTIONAL VISTA DRIVERS,? so that this product can work as its meant to work. I have been advised that drivers are being worked on and that they should be released soon. Its been 6-8 months and still no drivers that can deli'ver the functionality i expect in a $600 sound card, when i purhcased this product, there was a vista logo located with this product descrition saying it is supported and is vista ready, quite clearly it is not. I need accurate information on the following questions:?. Is there a creative team in fact working on a fully functional vista driver for this product.2. When will this vista driver be released?3. Will this driver deli'ver a fully functional product?Do not reply to this with some crappy template response as this will infuriate me, please reply with logic as i am a paying customer and have been for many years, i expect respect and i expect the truth from creative on this occassion. Please advise and escalate this matter to the MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE, if you cannot then provide me with the correct contact details and i will do it myself.

    Vespa,
We do not have plans to support Vista for Video Editor.
However, if you check the discussion on the Forum (primarily in the Video area) you will see that the audio portion can work due to the Vista support for the Audigy 2 ZS line and for the video portion, check the info on how to make it work. It works with Vista 32bit.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Vista Driver not install

Every time I try to install the Vista 32 bit drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS I get this message telling me that its missing layout.bin and that I need to insert disk one. This is driving me nuts and the lack of tech support help is not helping, how do I fix this?!?

I finally found a workaround for this.
For some strange reason the driver files are being deleted before they get installed.
In order to successfully install the driver perform the following:
. Run the driver file and click next until you reach the language selection screen.
Be sure NOT to go past this point.
    2. Goto "X:\Windows\Temp\CRF00Y\" and copy all the files in there to a folder on your desktop. (Where "X" is the dri've you installed windows on and "Y" is the last visibile number, for me it was CRF006)
    3. Run through setup until you reach the "Cannot find file layout.bin" error and then cancel it.
    4. Goto the new folder you created on your desktop and run setup from there.
    5. Enjoy partially working sound
Also found this on the install shield Website.
    http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q0892
PS. Although I have the driver installed, here's a small sample of the quality of Audio I'm receiving. http://www.zyned.com/upload/Recording.wma
This was recorded using Sound Recorder in Windows Vista, via "What U Hear" mode with the volume set at 20% to rule out distortion caused by channel overload. At least the name of the recorder was right, it was exactly what I was hearing.
If you want the original it can be downloaded from the Machinae Supremacy website free. It's called Anthem Apocalyptica.Message Edited by Redwing on 04-8-200706:50 PM

  • Why is there a 64bit vista driver but not 64bit

For the Creative Zen 4/8/6/32... Title says it all...Creative have drivers for their soundcards on XP64.Message Edited by SpaceFarm on 2-7-200703:28 AM

signal static in either the cable, cable connectors, or in signal thru the DVI adapt./ cable.
"Mini Displayport to DVI adapter with a DVI to DVI cable"
    excessive connector static points.
Elminating variables as per your above, your "DVI adapter with a DVI to DVI cable" is the source of the static.
Use another and eliminate the variable or dont use same.

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy ZS And Vista Driver installation prob

    HI!
I encounter Installation problems with that file:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit XP and Windows Vista Pack .04.0077
I Use Vista 64Bit Ultimate and when I try to install this package I have an error message after my language selection. Is there a known issue for this
    Thanks!
    Julien

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
    Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy including Platinum and Platinum eX series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 including Platinum, Platinum eX, and Value series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS including Platinum and Platinum Pro series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro and Sound Blaster Audigy 4

  • I can't restore my bookmarks from portable hard drive, why not?

I backed up my bookmarks through "import and Backup" yesterday as my hard drive had a failure and was being replaced. I now have a new hard drive installed and am trying to restore the bookmarks from my portable drive, but I get "unable to process the backup file". It is a JSON file, bookmarks-2015-02-08.json. Have I now lost every single one of my bookmarks by trying to use the backup procedure? I no longer have access to the failed drive.

Hi, I did try that unsuccessfully, but was able to get them restored by following the link from a previous ask (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/927611). Thanks for the reply.

I just bought and installed a new Audigy SE, immediatelly after turn on the computer via Windows Update download and installed the drivers and that worked fine with playback but the mic sounds in very low, I even tried to manually edit the mic boost registry but still the mic is practically useless. These are the drivers:?[img"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/javiersf/AudigyDrivers.jpg">?Another trouble: At the same time Windows Updated downloaded the Audigy Vista, I downloaded the new Audigy drivers for Vista posted on June 25th, but when I try to install them I receive this error message:[img"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/javiersf/ErrorVistaDrivers.jpg">?I even restored my system just before the windows update driver was downloaded and installed but?still I receive this error. I tried to manually delete the drivers, uninstall the audio card and the restore it, but still I am getting this error and I'd like to take advantage of this driver and software to see if that will fix the problem with the low power mic.

@javiersf; if I were you, I would give back that soundcard back and wait further for some support from Creative. 'cos , there is not a good support for Audigy users, especially for "LS/SE/Value" users; I don't recommend that card to anyone.
BTW, there is not a driver for Mic Boost, since the first Vista driver released. You should find an alternati've way (like using mic from Onboard sound card) or you have to use your mic like it's now.

  • Boot Windows AND FreeBSD from my MacBook Pro 8,3 using an external DVD drive. I'm considering to remove my DVD-ROM and replace it with an SSD drive. That doesn't seem to work. Why not?

As the title says, I'm attempting to boot off my favorite operating systems, Mac OS X, Windows 7 and FreeBSD from an external DVD drive. However, for some odd reasons, booting the Windows DVD and FreeBSD 9.1 install DVD from the external drive does not seem to work. I was able to create a bootable USB with the Windows installer, but whenever I attempt to do the same with FreeBSD, I only get an error message that says "No bootable device -- press any key to restart." Is this a limitation that Apple deliborately created? If so, why won't Apple let its customers do whatever they please with their computers, considering that customers who want to change the hardware and/or operating systems knows what he is doing, without having to worry about some silly Apple limitations?
If I sound rude, I apologize for that, as no impoliteness is intended from my side.
In advance, thanks. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

That is only partially correct at best.
When you are booting off Windows or any other operating systems that usually don't support EFI (including Windows), your Mac uses something called CSM-BIOS. And as long as that CSM-BIOS implementation on EFI-based Mac do not support booting off from USB (note that Mac OS X Installer works fine when booting from USB), not even a USB Apple SuperDrive which once was an internal drive, there mot definately is something for Apple to fix.
When attempting to install Windows via BootCamp, a somewhat hybrid GTP/MBR table is created. When you boot off the installer disc of the OS you intend to install (i.e. Windows 7, FreeBSD, etc), your Mac might not support the EFI boot option (at least my 2011 17-inch MacBook Pro doesn't support that), so the only way of booting that second OS installer is via the regular BIOS, which Apple's EFI based systems implement as CSM-BIOS.

  • How to get the Windows Vista Driver for ATI Radeon 7500 card?

How to get the Windows Vista Driver for ATI Radeon 7500 card?
I am using a IBM Thinkpad T42 with a 32Mb ATI Radeon 7500 graphic card AGP.
Is there any Vista 32-bit driver to update my card so that this system support Aero effect?
    Thank you.

The Radeon 9000 driver works for the Radeon 7500 card.  I have successfully used it on a T43 with Vista Ultimate x86

Unfortunately no.  The Radeon 9000 driver should bring your graphics score up to close to 2, but it will not get it high enough to enable Aero support.
