Audigy 2 driv

i just reformatted my hard dri've and i lost the disk that came with sound card that has the drivers for it and this freaking website wont give me the drivers only updates that require the drivers already. so where the heck am i supposed to get the drivers from?

i took my sound card out to see exactly what it is, model number SB0090 (with no M or G at the end)
when i search the site by model number there is no SB0090, theres an SB0090M and SB0090G, both are some type of Audigy 2, but every time i download an audigy 2 driver, when i try to install it, it says"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Sound Blaster Audigy on your system.
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program.
Setup will now exit."
and dont tell me that "its not in all the way" or anything like that i've taken it out and put it back in many times, i've tried it on 3 different slots on my mother board it keeps saying this and every time i turn on my computer it says windows detected new hardware so i know that it's being detected by windows so wtf is the problem? in the device manager its there under "Other Devices" as "Multimedia Audio Controller"
when i do a search for drivers it comes up with nothing and when when i try to install any driver it doesnt work.

  • What happened to new Vista Audigy Drive

Okay, so I check for new Vista drivers (with apps so I can use MIDI and soundfonts!) for my Audigy card every night. I was hopeful when X-Fi drivers were released last week. No Audigy drivers? Did I miss something? WILL there be new Vista 32 drivers with apps for Audigy cards or is CL abandoning them completely?
If CL goes down that path, what X-Fi cards will do MIDI with soundfont apps (like XP soundfont manager - loading soundfont banks into computer memory)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. So much frustration!
    Thanks,

dear one and all! greetings to all who are breaking their head after buying vista and trying to make their 5. system woking. i downloaded the vista audigy driver from the support site of creative but i have lets say only 0 per cent of the performance. there is no 5. output, no add on drivers and no mixers , the usual hoopla hapla one gets while buying new hardware! i was wondering if the moderators could help me ! what shoud i do get 5. audio with vista and audigy. i already have the vista driver. it doesnt seem to help. please help! thanks in advance!

Read the news (direct quote) ?from ZDNET:July 5th, 2007<!-- by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes -->Creative charging $9.99 for Vista update?<!-- sphereit start -->From the ?that?s gotta be a dumb PR?move? files, Creative Labs decides to try to charge $9.99 for Vista compatible updates for the Audigy range of sound cards.
No, this isn?t April st and I kid you not. Creative really does think that people are going to pay money for a driver. Understandably, Creative customers are getting emotional over this. Destroying your reputation over $9.99 ? bad move.
This charging money for drivers game is getting real old. Any company that tries to pull this kind of stunt is underhandedly?double dipping customers. There?s no excuse for it. I for one won?t be buying any more Creative Labs gear until they get the message that providing drivers is a service that customers have already paid for when they bought the hardware in the first place.
Charging for drivers. Right or wrong?

Pointless semantic games. It's something that worked on XP, and should work on Vista. Spare the speeches about what was on the box, blah blah blah, it's all Microsoft's fault. Nonsense. It's a question of how a company regards it's customers.

Just because a game works in XP does not mean that it <i>has to</i> work in Vista. And this is exactly what ALchemy does; it ?fixes? a problem with games designed for XP or earlier versions of Windows. It has nothing to do with games designed for Vista. Even with ALchemy, there are many games that worked in XP that will never work in Vista.
I am actually surprised that Creative made ALchemy at all. This is really something that the game companies should have come up with because it is really their products that are being ?fixed?. If a game is made specifically for Vista and the game advertises that it uses EAX effects, then Creative won?t have to provide anything but the basic sound driver for that to work.
As far as saying that it is ?pointless semantics?, you?re flat out wrong. The games that ALchemy ?fixes? never made a guarantee that they would provide EAX in Windows Vista and all anyone has to do is point to the system specs on the game box and say ?show me where it says Windows Vista?. Like it or not, it was actually very generous of Creative to provide ALchemy, even if they charge a sundry $0 for it.

  • Problems with new Audigy driv

<p class="MsoNormal">I have just installed a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum Model SB0090 to replace my old SB Li've. When upgrading from older Audigy drivers to the latest drivers available on the Creative support website, I find that they cause serious problems with my 4. digital speaker system (Boston BA7500G). With either of the newest drivers installed, when I adjust the volume using either the Creative Surround Mixer or the Creative Remote Control, it causes the rear speakers to stop working. Closer investigation revealed that moving the volume slider in Creative Surround Mixer had a strange effect in Windows Audio Control Panel. Upon opening the Speaker Volume tab in Windows Audio Control Panel, it revealed 8 speaker channels (suggesting that it detected the Audigy card as a 7. when in fact it only supports? 5.). When I moved the volume slider on the Creative Surround Mixer (in either direction) it had the effect of moving all but three of the speaker volume sliders in the Windows Audio Control Panel (Right Channel, Left Channel and Channel 8) to zero, with the result that the rear speakers stopped working. Inm other words, Windows was insisting that the speaker setup was 2. and not 4. as in the Surround Mixer selection. ?It made no difference if either or both of the checkboxes ?Synchronize with Windows Control panel? in Creative Audio Console or ?Move all sliders at the same time? in Windows Control Panel were checked or not. This problem is present in both SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe and SBAX_PCDRVBETA_US_2_8_000.exe. It does not appear to be present with the older driver SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe, so for now I have rolled back to that. In fact, with SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe Windows Audio Control Panel only shows 2 channels in the Speaker Volume tab; Left Channel and Right Channel, but all speakers in my 4. system work and the controls in Creative Surround Mixer and Remote Control all work fine. I would like to be able to take advantage of the fixes available in the two newer drivers but they cause me serious problems. Can anybody help? Finally, the presence of a beta driver on the website suggests that a newer version is coming soon. I wonder?if this issue be addressed with the new driver.

I have some problem as you with new drivers SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe and SBAX_PCDRVBETA_US_2_8_000.exe. Only in my case I use SB Audigy and headphone 5.. Always when I check 5. in Audio Console it reset to 2.. I can set 2. or headphone only.Message Edited by AlkaliX on 09-3-2008 09:53 AM

Download the updated drivers from Creative Support (or lateset WHQL drivers from http://www.station-drivers.com/)to your PC and try install them by running the CTZAPXX.EXE (found on the \Drivers\support\i386 -folder of your driver pack.

  • Audigy Driver issue on reb

    Hello
I am trying to install an Audigy sound card on a Windows XP Pro pc the card installs fine and works until you reboot. After you reboot there is an error in device manager (Code 9) that says
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. To fix this problem you can first try running a Troubleshooting Wizard. If that does not work, you should uninstall and then reinstall the hardware device. (Code 9)"
I have done a full uninstall and reinstall using the creative utility about 3 times each time with the same results. Can any one point me in the right direction on how to fix this? I saw in the forums that people were having a similar issue with a creative web cam but did not see the sissue with the audigy line cards.
    Thanks

Try to uninstall the soundcard again via "add/remove software" and download Driver Cleaner: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Driver-C...nload-745.html
    or Driver Sweeper:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-(no-installer)-download-672.html at Guru3D and used one the utility in Windows Safe mode to clean the Creative Labs drivers or windows registers related to the Soundcard and its apps that got stuck in your pc system. Restart and reinstall the driver from the original driver cd for your Audigy soundcard and update the drivers if needed.
    Good luck!

I have an Audigy and after update the drivers the effects sound very low (quiet). In fact at the environments effects the effects is applied just at the center speaker. But before update drivers all sound just fine. So, the updates are for better performance or for lower the performance? )

  • Audigy driver problems with XP SP3

    hey,
I'm about to pull my hair out here. This is a new install of XP after an HD failure. I have no sound at all, so figured it was a driver issue.
I have no driver CD, but the soundcard has Creative Labs Model Number SB0090 on it and the chip on the front says Audigy on it.
I can''t figure out which driver I need - they are all marked with Audigy this, Audigy that - but no reference to model #s. I found one document that says the SB0090 is an Audigy?- but Audigy (by itself) is not a choice on the product listings.
So, I've tried many of the driver downloads, but they all result in the same error saying it was unable to find a compatible device in the system.
Windows XP shows it in the device manager as Creative SB Audigy.
Can anyone tell me exactly which driver I need to download and the steps I need to follow to get audio working on this?
    thanks in advance,
    kp

    &nevermind - I figured it out.
No thanks to Creative I might add. Turns out this is an OEM card and the standard creative drivers don't work.
The creative install routines know this - too bad they couldn't just say something like "OEM device detected, please contact ..."
I used to think highly of Creative - that has slipped somewhat of late.

I'd like to have just one file for drivers and not the whole CD (that is 4 years old :-( ). Has anyone heard about some uni'versal driver pack for audigy?
    Plz. help

As what Cat say, install that driver and if you need to configure those sound card setting then search this filename - ctpanel.exe from within your computer

Ok the driver install program is not finding my card!, but the card is installed and my WindowsXP SP2 can see it right here this pic shows it:

I downloaded drivers from this location and all of them cant find my sound device!:
    http://us.creative.com/support/downl...x=33&Image4.y=
I just reinstalled my whole WinXP, and just installed all new drivers for everything except the USB 2.0 driver and sound device as you can tell if you went to the top link.

THX Cat for the answer, I installed my old SB0090 Audigy 394, I lost the driver disk... so I figured it would be like my other devices and just download a new driver from Creative, but it seems to me that Creative must want the original drivers first..no other device on my computer needs the original drivers...
and thanks for responding everyone, ill try the other links aswell
Oh and btw I dont see any customer support Email link anywhere on the Creative website, mybe someone wants to point it out to me(i could be just retarded and cant see it)
Also, why the heck arent drivers for Creative soundcards on the Microsoft update website?, all my other older devices have drivers there...

  • Vista RTM Audigy driver: release December X, January X, now TBA

I can appreciate that the changes in Vista make life very difficult for a driver developer but there is no excuse for the poor management of this process. First these drivers?were?listed for release December, then January and now it says TBA. From a PR point of view including the expiry date in the driver(I would love to hear an explanation for that) and then these delays is very pitiful. I don't think as a company you are doing yourselves any favours with this. Many tech forums are speculating because of these delays and there are rumours that the driver when it is released will not have full functionality even though these products are still on the shop shelves. Despite the company's dubious practices(imop) with drivers in the past (new drivers released for Audigy 2 ZS but not Audigy 2 Player) I've always stuck with?Soundblaster cards because of the guaranteed compatiblity but I think this will be my last and given the coverage that this is starting to get I don't think I will be alone in this...

Hi!?I agree with you on this. The problem with Creative, is the lack of a competiti've company. They don't have it, so they do as they please. It's outrageous, total lack of respect to their clients. I own 2 creative cards, and I'm running Vista. First card is a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, tried their beta driver, and it's awfull! Doesn't even support 5. speaker systems... How I resolved this? Installing latest XP drivers using compatability mode. It works just fine, just don't use Vista to configure your speakers, use instead the Creative Panel, and everything will work just fine: EAX working at 00%, CMS at 00%, 5. Speakers at 00%. My second card, is a 5. Li've Digital. That one, as Creative decided simply to abandon it, I used the same technique! Worked like a charm... Everything works just fine...So, tell me one thing: if XP drivers are able to install (on compatability mode, thanks Microsoft for this) why is it being so hard to launch one 00% Vista Driver? I'm not speaking one for the final release, although many companies already launched them (for example, NVIDIA, but there is one thing called ATI, here) at least one for the RC2... They launched the new MediaSource, but for me, the setup doesn't even finishes, simply crashes...But, by now, lauching an RC2 driver? Has no logic...My advise to Creative, begin to take better care of your clients, or else, you may find yourselves with a decrease in sales... Many people are just begining to use onboard audio chips, instead of paying ?200 for a audio card. It's true, the downsize in performance (or the lack of professional audio editing), but, nowadays, with the available GPU's and CPU's, people who simply use their computers to work on Office or play a game, are thinking twice before buying a Creative Card...

  • 1st Gen Audigy Driv

I have had this problem ever since I bought my Audigy Card, the self install cannot detect the hardware. Windows detects it as an "unknown device" under sound, and having windows check the driver CD gets it up and running. However I cannot find my driver CD, and the install file I download from the site can't detect the hardware (why windows can find it, and the company that MAKES the hardware cant produce an install file that will detect it is beyond me). What I need is the driver files, not some super auto install kit, just the drivers. Ill do it all manually, I just need to know where I can get my hands on the files. Any help would be appreciated.

    DavidDudley,
What is the model number of the sound card? It should be something like CT**** or SB****.
What is your OS? If you are using Windows XP/2000, you can download the EAX 4 driver.
    http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/
Scroll down to the "Search by Product" section, select "Sound Blaster", "Audigy", "Audigy Gamer" and set "File Type" to "Driver".
You will find the following files:
    -AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe
    -AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe
Install them in above order. To configure your Audigy Gamer, run ctpanel.exe. Just do a search for this file.

  • Soundblaster audigy driver install

i was trying to follow this post here, but im not sure what im missing
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=2200
i want to install the driver for my Audigy souncard. im pretty sure the chipset is the emu10k1.   I downloaded the driver from http://sourceforge.net/projects/emu10k1/
    according to that post,
    # /etc/modules.conf
    alias sound emu10k1 sound ac97_codec
    # End of file
    my modules.devfs reads:
    # Soundcard
    alias /dev/sound sound-slot-0
    alias /dev/audio /dev/sound
    alias /dev/mixer /dev/sound
    alias /dev/dsp /dev/sound
    alias /dev/dspW /dev/sound
    alias /dev/midi /dev/sound
will adding these entries work after i put the driver in place?
do i actually need the alias's?
what location do i actually put the driver in?
and what modules are the ones i need to put into rc.conf?
i dont see the a modules.devfs,  files mentioned, so im guessing this is the proper file name and just create the file in /etc?
or is somebody has a good link, please pass it my way

  • Where to obtain Archived/older audigy driv

Well, I have an original SB Audigy sound card and when I installed the "newest" set of drivers for the card, I know have issues when I play games of the sound crackling and distorting. I would like to go back to the older drivers to see if that would help me out. Of course CL offers no help when I wrote to them because my product is long past warranty. So does anyone know where I can go to get these older/archi'ved drivers? Thanks.

Is there a driver only install version of these available?

You can perform the "drivers only" install by downloading the file from CT Support, extracting it to your HD and excuting the ctzapxx.exe.
Extract the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe using winrar (or equal software) --> find the file named ctzapxx.exe (SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004\Drivers\support\i386 -folder) and run it.

  • Windows 98SE Audigy Driver Fre

I have a dual-boot system between Windows 98SE and Windows 2000. I recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU, so I had to reinstall both OSs. I have no problems in Windows 2000, but with SE I had a lot of problems getting the drivers to install, and now, at random when SE is loading, the system will freeze when trying to load the Audigy drivers. On my previous install with the old motherboard, I had no problems.
Is there any way to fix this?

@ I've doing exatly that..... but nothing solve my problem.
After remove all creative software, remove souncard, cleaning registry with drivercleaner pro, reinstall the card. Again win7 won't fint audiodevice hardware, also i not possible install creative driver or kk.
