Audigy 2 - loud hiss/static over speakers. No other sound can be he

So I had a power outage tonight and so I had to reset the CMOS on my computer. So I did that, reset all my settings and then when I got into Windows, instead of having sound I get this loud and constant hissing/static from my speakers. I've tried reseating the sound card and trying another PCI slot but to no avail. So I uninstalled my drivers, used Driver cleaner, reinstalled drivers and I still get the same static.
The card is an Audigy 2 ZS, speakers are Logitech Z-5500 in analog mode. Is there a problem with my sound card or could it be software related?

Well because my surge protector kicked in and so did my PSU so I had to reset the CMOS in order for my computer to turn on.
And I'm pretty sure its not the CMOS options.
The funny thing is all my audio software detects the card and so does the drivers and I even pass all the diagnostic tests. But I still only get static.

  • Can't find remote speakers. Other computers can.

    1. The find remote speakers IS checked in my iTunes.
    2. I am accessing the Internet through the Air Port Express, so I know I am connecting to the AP.
    3. I can connect to it wired or wirelessly, but I do not have a choose speakers option on iTunes either way.
    4. All of the other computers (Mac and XP) in the office are connecting (as I type).
    5. I could connect to the speakers yesterday.
    Any Ideas??
I set up the Airport Express as an AP, there is a wired router in the network. Users can connect wired or wirelessly to the Airport's shared speakers. There are currently 3-5 users trying to connect to the speakers. I am the only one who cannot.

  • No sound through speakers, and LOUD hissing through headphones - Inspiron 3537

    Hi,
So yesterday the sound on my laptop's internal speakers stopped working, and when I plug the headphones in there is a loud hissing noise - way too loud to be able to stand when trying to listen to something, though I can hear the audio as well.  The volume of the hissing is not affected by the volume control on the laptop but the actual audio can be made louder.  Have also tried running the audio test in the EPSA diagnostic, and I cannot hear anything.  Anyone have any ideas?
I have a Dell Inspiron I5, model 3537.  Have had it less than 18 months so if it is a hardware failure I am extremely disappointed in the manufacturing quality.  Had my previous Philips laptop for six years and never had a problem like this!

Have also tried running the audio test in the EPSA diagnostic, and I cannot hear anything.
Hello. Failure to hear tones through the speakers during the ePSA audio quick test means that the speakers have either become disconnected or failed. I don't know if you would want to take the laptop apart to check the connection, but if so there is a manual available with complete disassembly instructions.
Harder to account for the loud hissing. If you currently have the Realtek audio driver installed, switch over to the Windows native driver and see if it makes a difference.
    1. Open the Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the Windows search box).
    2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".
    3. Select to "Update Driver Software".
    4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.
    7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio Device" (the native driver).
    8. Click "Next".
    9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver).
    10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.
[To get back to the Realtek driver,  do it again but reverse the names in steps 2 and 7.]

  • Won´t boot up and loud hissing sound when battery is in.

Hello, I have a powerbook g4 and leopard installed. The other day the computer started making a loud hissing sound and had a black screen(it looks like is in sleep mode) won´t come out of the apparent sleep mode. If I take the battery out it stops making the loud hissing sound but everything else remains the same. Also the light in the power cord is acting werid. The only thing I got to do was to finally turn the computer off and tried for about 3 days to charge it but the powercord wasn´t working so finally it worked(after 3 days) it almost booted up but then went into the sleep coma again. (the light indicator in the cable turned off but after taking out and put in it back in the light turned on. Please help, I can´t find any good answer for this!?? thanks everyone in advance.

I just went over and looked at the computer and it seems that is making the hissing noise again even with the battery out.

  • Why is there a loud hissing noise?

From time to time there is a loud hissing noise coming from the iMac speakers.  Sometimes it is very brief, other times it lasts for 15 seconds or so.  Anyone know what's causing this on a late 2013 iMac with SSD and rotating hard drive.  Thanks.

What you describe is probably hardware.
However, you might try resetting the SMC.

  • Mackbook Pro 17 inch loud hissing from left speaker

Has anyone had a problem with 17 Inch Macbook Pro, loud hissing from left speaker after a full SMC reset?
It only makes the hissing sound when a audio clip or system sound is in progress.
    Cheers

    Fixed.
Whilst playing around with the balance control, I discovered left was right and right was left.
Opened the top cover, unplugged flipped over and replugged the speaker plug on the left board (it looks like it's a one way plug but it still allows it to be plugged in the wrong way).
    Working properly now.
Hope this helps someone out there.

  • Loud annoying static with itunes playback

I turned on my computer one day and decided to play a song and I got this really loud harsh static whenever I play a song. I know it's not my speaker cause I tested the same audio files on other audio programs and they played fine...Anyone else have this problem and how can I fix this? I tryed reinstalling already and nothing changed...help pls
    PC   Windows XP Pro

Thx for the help Shadow98233 But that didn't seem to fix the problem but you did show me my stupidity. I tryed to install an updated version of quicktime over an old one and it was not compatible. Causing it to produced this violently annoying static buzz when you play audio files. So I had to uninstall quicktime completely before upgrading. Thanks for your help.

I did a full restore to factory settings not putting my backup on and the problem persisted.

I did every step in the link that i have been provided with (thank you), but I’m
still experiencing the same issue. My experience with Apple has been
excellent and this has been the first time I have experienced something
like this with an Apple product. I hope we can find a quick solution.
In order to get the iPhone 5 as soon as it launched (being a major fan of
Apple products!), I purchased my iPhone 5 from the UK through a friend of
    mine who lives there.
My question is: can I have the faulty device replaced within Saudi by one
of the official resellers here (we have 3: STC, Mobily and Zain)? I want to
avoid the disruption, complication and expense of sending it back to the
    UK.
Could you advise whether this is possible or not, and if not how should I
go about having the device replaced?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

    Nice try! Take a hike.

Is there "THX Setup Console" included on Creative Audigy softwre? You can adjust output levels for every speaker therefrom.

If you do not have THX then you can try to install Audigy 2 (Zs) or 4 software instead of the original you have now (you can find all information from http://www.driverheaven.net/forumdisplay.php?f=33.
NOTE: Not 00% sure all features would work like they should.

  • Loud hiss during video chat

    Hi,
I've been trying to chat with a Windows user running AIM. We are able to connect and get good quality video and sound... for about 15 seconds. Afterward the audio turns into a very loud hiss. Disconnecting and reconnecting restores the audio temporarily, but we spend almost as much time waiting for invitations to work as we do in the chat.
I thought this might be a feedback problem. Turning off my audio sending does sometimes make the hiss go away after a few seconds, but often does not. Switching to headphones does not help.
Also, we are able to do an audio-only chat with no problem, so it doesn't seem like there is anything intrinsically wrong with the audio.
    Any ideas?

Sounds like you are picking up interference from and external source.
    Could be anything.
    Cables in Walls.
    Microwave cooker.
Wireless modem or router close by.
    General cabling near the Mic.

  • FM Radio problem (crashes, loud hissing)

    I have an xperia Z1 for a week ( BH90C, updated to 14.1.G.2.257).
Normally FM radio reception is very good. However, If the FM application is in background and I do web search, twitter, e-mail or facebook, a very loud hissing sound starts and fm application crashes. If I force close application and restart sometimes application works normally sometimes loud hissing continues and it become impossible to change fm channel. To solve the problem I cleared data and cache of FM radio app (with the Walkman app there is no such problem) but it did not solve the problem. Problem was there before the 14.1.G.2.257 update and it is still there.
Are there anybody else having the same issue? I can not decide whether it is a software or a hardware problem. Did you guys know a solution to this problem?

I made a factory reset. It did not solve my problem. I made a clean install latest update. Again no success.
I decide to give the xperia Z1 back to the seller. I will want refund and never ever will buy a sony phone again. They cannot even make a working phone. Today, phone started to produce weird sounds on phone calls.

  • Optical drive burns disks with loud hiss OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5670S:

My iMac 24-inch 2.66 ghz is burning some disks that either have a very loud hiss or they have corrupted areas. The drive is a OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5670S. Has anyone else had this problem?

I also face the same problem, running on 10.6.1. Somebody suggested to upgrade the firmware of this drive to 2AHH. But where to get this firmware upgrader? From Apple directly?

  • Loud Intermittent Static on iPhone

For the last couple of months, my phone has been giving off loud, intermittent static during phone calls.  I do not hear it, but the person on the other line says it is so loud that they have to put down the phone.  It seems to only happen when I am calling to a specific person who is located in another state (I am in Washington State calling California), but it happens whether they are on their cell phone, home phone or work phone.  It does not seem to happen with anyone else, but then again, I am not on the phone as frequently with other people.  The phone calls are business related, so I am very keen to get this issue resolved.
I have an iPhone 5 and am on iOS 7.0.4 (which is the most up-to-date).  I am not very technically minded, but any help would be appreciated.  Has anyone else ever experienced this issue?

Pleeeeeeeeease delete me, let me go.

  • When taking video the sound is a loud hiss on the playback (and when transferred/uploaded to computer) drowning out the sound of the video itself.  How do I fix this?

When taking video the sound is a loud hiss on the playback (and when transferred/uploaded to computer) drowning out the sound of the video itself.  How do I fix this?

I'm using the default camera app with the phone.  Happens every time with videos that I take with the camera.  does not occur when watching other videos, only videos taken with the phone.  and when the video is uploaded to a computer or online, the hiss stays with the video.
I just bought the phone a few months ago, so this is the first time I’ve tried taking video with it.  I’ve tested repeatedly to see if its intermittent but it’s constant.

  • Static over black Apple logo

AND thats it. Up until a day ago, my AppleTV unit performed flawlessly. Now - I have a barely visible Apple Logo on screen - and what could only be called static over it - tho it looks like a digital static of some sort. The unit does not play - and I have tried BOTH settings for video in - still nothing. None of my MAC's will see the AppleTV unit either. I have a mini, a G4, and powerbook - all of which did see the unit prior - now, it doesnt appear in iTunes.
My guess is its DOA - so my main question would then be - does this get sent back to Apple and replaced? Do I take it to an Apple store? AND how does one go about that. I'm happy to say in all my years as a loyal Apple user, I've never had to do something like this.
I don't just use this for entertainment - as a production house, its great to load up for clients and such - so I am actually having a little bit of down-time so I would love to resolve this or get started resolving this asap. Thanx for your time in advance for taking the time to read my post.

I doubt a new cable will help, HDMI cable quality can cause some strange issues but since you have the same issues with component, this can't be the problem for you.
There isn't an external reset. Can you get to the diagnostic screen ( 'menu + ' held for about 5 secs on the remote)
If not, the last thing I could suggest is disconnecting every cable from it for 30 seconds and trying again
