Audigy 2 makes "scritches" when making heavy data tranf

Hi everyone.
I've have a weird problem with my Audigy 2: When I'm making heavy data transfers between my dri'ves (I've seven of them...), the soundcard starts making very agrressi've noise "scritches" through the speakers, regardless of the player. It does that with MediaPlayer, iTunes, MusicMatcjh and PovwerDVD, so I'm pretty sure it's not player-related. It is also prone to make such noises when I go over the internet.
Now, in the normal course of my doings, I don't make huge transfers, so it's fairly managable. But when I tranfer big chucks of data (500+ Gb), it starts. It's particulary loud when I'm tranfering to another computer, either FiWi, USB or RJ45. And it occurs from any dri've to any dri've.
When I game, play movies, do PhotoShop, ANY usage, even highly demanding CPU processes, no problem. But if I simply move chunks of data from a dri've to the other (no problem in searches or seeking), it happens.
Any idea why so? My setup in a nutshell:
WinXP SP2, firewalled, antivirused and antispied
Various demanding games and applications
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
,5 Gb DDRAM, 400 FSB
480 watt power supply
4 fans
x 60 Gb IDE
x 80 Gb IDE
x 80 Gb IDE, on Promise channel

Audigy 2 Platinum

I'm a but fuzzy on the brand of the HDDs, I haven't opened my case in a while, but I know I have Maxtor and WD dri'ves.
Any help would be glady appreciated.

- check if Audigy is sharing IRQ with IDE/SATA, NIC, FireWire, USB controller?
- check if DMA transfers for IDE channels are set correctly for best performance (if you transfer from IDE disks).
- check how antivirus program is set (if it is set to scan files when transferred).
- decrease graphic card(s) PCI latencies to 28 (you can do this with PCI Latency tool (if you do use your PC otherwise acti'vely (not just listening music) while transfering files).
- check if you have autoupdete(s) running/acti've on OS/other programs
these came into mind now ...

There have been a lot of recent reports of difficulties sharing to DVD, but haven't been hearing about unreadable disks. Posibly there was an encoding error. Or it could have been bad media (blank disk).
Does it play in your Mac?
What brand of disks are you using?

I`ve tried restarting, rebooting, nothing works.
The interesting thing is that SIRI can call to previous mobile numbers (without the new digit) obviously not connecting , and, can call to any other numbers as an office or home number. So the problem is the new digit in the mobile number

Ecuador has added an extra digit to mobile phone numbers but apple wont accept 10 digit phone numbers so we cant use facetime or apple IM or verify our new phone numbers. ( and Siri won't work either!) I have contacted apple support online but can't request a call back as the apple system says our new phone numbers are invalid. Try settings/general/reset/reset network settings. If that does not do it then contact your carrier

IPhone 4s updated with IOS 8. Not the calendar will not show a full list of dates. Instead it shows the whole month with the list of the day selected. I want to have my full list back. So much easier to scroll thru when making appointments.

The third checkbox in Preferences > Auto-Correction.

When making Path, Option click NEAR handle should grab handle, NOT make new anchor

When making a path in Photoshop, if I have the basic Pen Tool, I often use Option on my Mac keyboard to temporarily get the Convert Point Tool, in order to adjust the handle protruding from an anchor point. I find it extremely frustrating that it will INSTEAD lay down another anchor point if I do not click PRECISELY on the end of the handle I intended to grab. Can't Photoshop just grab the handle as long as I am in close proximity AND am holding down Option? Since I AM holding Option, it should lock me out of adding additional anchor points.
I can't think of anything else I would want to do in this situation, in other words, I don't think it would be in conflict with any other feature.

It seems like I might want to second this one, as I remember complaining about something similar when working with paths recently...
(after trying...) No, it wasn't that, as the cursor change is a good enough sign of what my click will do... bummer... I need to lay down notes again!
About the near handles situation, what would be useful to have is a contextual menu (even a modifier-led contextual menu) to select the kind of anchor point we want, to convert a curve to a line, etc.

It sounds like you are still hearing the phone line ringing even after the person you call answers the line. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article:

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

Best practices when making service requests
We've been working on moving our old services that were built with an different service request tool into RequestCenter and were wondering if anyone had any thoughts about best standards or practices for the new forms that they would be willing to share. For example, one such standard might be that the customer - initiator information will always be displayed at the top of the request.
Are there any other standardizations you could share that help lend consistency and provide improved readability for request forms? Maybe someone has a design framework guide they would be willing to share?

Thanks for the comments and the book suggestion.
We've been placing the customer information at the top because wanted the customer to review the information before subbmitng the form. Our LDAP data is somewhat spotty and we want to make sure we have the right information when the form is submitted but I can see the advantages to placing it at the bottom as well. I'll have to think that over more.

Leave out specified columns when making source ODBC connection to Access?

I have question. I am making Non Oracle ODBC connection to Access file and then of course the Import of the tables from the Access file in OWB 10.2.0.1. Is it possible to choose and leave out (omit) some columns from the tables during this process? You may suggest that I should make connection to the whole table as it is and then leave out the unnecessary columns during mapping to the target table. But the problem is that these columns I would like to leave out are represented as LONG datatype which is not supported by Oracle (ORA-00997 problem). The result is that the tables with this datatype are "somehow imported" but it is not possibe to open them in Data Viewer (ORA-00997 message) and it is not possible to use them in Mapping editor (API8014 message). So, is it possible to choose only several columns from the Access table when making the ODBC connection to it and the Import of the tables to Non Oracle / ODBC / "eg. My Access" / Tables ?

OK,
the first reply will be from me :)
Now I found a solution which is not so elegant but works for me.
My task was to make the connection and loading the data from Access to Oracle without any modification to the original source file (which is of course normal DW condition...).
I created another Access file linked to the original one (no copy, only linkage, it means every change to the original file are immediately seen in the second one). It was not still possible to make changes to the attributes in this link file, so i created views (in Access called queries) of all the tables and here I left out unnecessary columns.
Then I changed my ODBC connection link to the second file instead of first and tried to do it all the tasks in OWB... it works, I can see the data and I can use the views in mappings and so on...
but if any one knows the solution just for OWB as I asked before, please let me know!!!

My Droid Razr Max at times when making a call will conect but drops audio both sides?

When making calls it will connect but you can hear the other party and neither can they hear me. I was advised to do a hard reset but this did not solve th eissue. I was issued a new phone and now it is doing the same thing. The only thing that helps is to turn it off and then on again. Any suggestions?

Try another Sim Card handle it by it's Edges as you don't want to Touch the Gold Area of it because of Static Electricity and the Oils in our Fingers can Harm it and cause the Phone to not Operate Correctly) When you install the Card Make sure you Fully seat it in just like a SD card as it Has a Spring Mechanism that pulls the Card in the Phone.. Try those things and make sure the PRL is up to Date) Call customer service 1-800-922-0204 option 3 Tech services and have them check this for you if you need it they will push it to your Maxx the Card does this Automatically no Need for *228..
