Audigy 2 nx external (mute probl

first of all , i cannot operate sound control from the remote control.. When i press the volume button , it displays in the computer whether i increase the volume or decrease the volume , but nothing has changed in the sound volume..
secondly, when i press the mute button in the remote control , it mutes the sound but after that i cannot remute the sound..(by pressing the remote control) .. I tried to shutdown the sound card but when i re open it , it is still in mute mode.. After muting something strange is beginning to occur and when i tried to open speaker settings, or eax console or other thing , it says "the audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit"
what does it mean?.. Can a mute button create this much problem ? .. thanks for help..

Tiger33 wrote:highly doubt anyone that brought a nx will be using it for multi track recording mate (no offence) even the box itselves says clearly "GAMING AND PLAYING MUSIC" and for the job it was built for it is excellent.
I think we all agree that few people would buy an NX for multitrack recording but check all the other posts out, you'd be amazed. Multi track mixing is just an example which just as easily could have been printer, DV cam etc on a hub on a system with USB 2.0 disabled (and most people do not know how to enable it or even check it).
Also a lot of people here with problems buy a card that does not have the box you refer too, these are known as bulk packs and have little more than than bubble wrap.
And lastly, don't think everyone's as lucky as you they might not have the education or cash you have access to.

When I mute it using the button, or the remote control it works fine, however when I go to un-mute using either method, it does not unmute. However you can unmute using the creative volume control software. Why is this? How can I get this sorted?I have tried uninstalling both drivers and software, and even the Creative file itself from the Prog. Files folder. • Audigy 4 external hub probl

Hi, my audigy 4 pro external hub has stopped working completely. The power light doesn't turn on. I have reinstalled the drivers several times, and I get an error message, something about an NT failed or invalid handler I think? Will the external hub power light come on as soon as the computer turns on, or after windows loads? That way I can determine whether it's a hardware or software problem. Also, there is no power plug anywhere on the I/O hub, so it is powered by the audigy 4 card correct? I found a creative power cord next to the hub, but I think it's for an old MP3 player that has long since died; I can't find anywhere to plug it into anyway. Please help?Thanks,-UnSaniTiZ

Well having spoken to Technical support for about an hour, they told me it could because my onboard sound card hadnt been disabled. Well I've disabled that and uninstalled its drivers. Then I did a clean install of the audigy4. Still the same problem. For some reason, the headphone volume slider in the surround mixer is greyed out and the isnt any headphone tab in the Audio console. Having been told that this is Creatives best product and "it cant have anything wrong with it", I am beggining to wonder just what is going on? I've completly disabled my old onboard sound, done a clean install and still the headphones/volume/remote etc arent working. Is there anything else I can try?

  • SoundBlaster Audigy NX 2 External Questio

    Hi all forum's members.
I'll want to buy a SoundBlaster Audigy NX 2 External soundcard, but I would like to know some questions:
.- I have seen that this soundcard have, among others, two separated entries, one for mic and one for line-in. I have now a SoundBlaster Li've 24 bits Internal and it has the same options but with a unique and exclusi've entry, and so, it won't let me use both at the same time, because the software always silence one of the two. With the Audigy NX 2, Would it be possible to use, only at the software level, both entries at the same time? (MIND YOU! without silencing any of the two entries at the same time).
2.- The purpose of all this is to connect both an electric guitar and a mic so as to be able to record the songs that I have composed. The scheme that I have to assume is the following: The guitar goes to the amplifier, from which I take out an exit connector (line-out of amplifier) to the Audigy NX2, and the microphone, through a Jack take-in 6,3 mm converter, which goes too to the Audigy NX 2. The second question is that the guitar ALREADY comes amplified, whereas the microphone, which is a computer microphone (with head-set) ISN'T AMPLIFIED. Could I connect the guitar ONLY AND DIRECTLY to the Audigy NX2, that is, Does the Audigy NX 2 have two internal amplifiers for every entry, or only one for both entries?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.

The 2 NX should allow you to connect both at the same time. You would indeed need to continue using the amplifier for the guitar so that it is a line-level input for the soundcard, but you would be able to record from "What you Hear" and get the line in and Microphone recorded simultaneously.

  • Audigy 1 external bay : proble

    Hi,
I recently bought a Creative Audigy Platinum eX with external dri've, but I can't figure how to make it work..
The sound card installs and runs fine, but nothing from the external dri've.
The optical output light is on, so the dri've has power, but nothing more...
I tried to de-install / reinstall drivers only, entire software suite (found on this forum), tried modded and updated drivers, but nothing works.
So.. did I miss something ? Is there something more i could test (like changing PCI slot ?) ?
I bought it to play guitar, so i really need a solution...
Thank you all for your future help
Edit : I forgot to mention : I'm using WinXP pro SP2, and everything is running fine...

But the power supply doesn't make the noise if it's plugged into the wall but not plugged into the external sound card? Can you test the output of the power supply with a multimeter?

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 4 pro optical In probl

Hello, I recently purchase a audigy 4 pro, My current setup is 3 wires(green, black, orange) going from my Logitech X-530 5. speakers to the audigy 4 sound card, from there, the AD_Link and Ad_Link2(firewire) going to the Audigy's External I/O, now when i Plug in any toslink cable from the *Optical In* port to my game system(xbox, xbox 360, dvd player, ps2), there is no sound. but when i use the standard A/v cable(red/white) and plug it into the back of the external I/O(Line IN 3), the sound works. Everything else also seems to be working fine. any idea what could be the problem? also note, that i'm kinda new at this, so sorry if i dont fully understand your reply.

What seems to be a problem is the I/O box is powered on, but not connecting to the card. The power light is on, but the volume knob isn't doing anything and the extra inputs aren't recognized. I didn't touch any of the cables, and they're all secure so I have no idea what's going on.

  • Audigy Platnium EX re-install probl

    Hello everyone,
I'm having major problems reinstalling my drivers and creative programs for my Sound Blaster Audigy Platnium EX card. My system dri've had problems and I had to restore from a backup. Everything else but the sound card is working BETTER than before the crash.
    Here's my system info:
Windows XP Pro SP, completely up to date
    MSI motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz HT on
    4GB RAM
    ATI X850 AGP Graphics Card
Raid on MB used for (2) RAID 0 stripes of SATA dri'ves.
    Audigy Platnium Card#?? SB0090
    External Break Out Box#? SB00B
I?do a cleansweep following this article:
    Solution ID # 72
How to un-install Sound Blaster drivers and applications?
Then I run DriverCleanerPro and CCleaner. Then I install from the original CD-ROM from a services disabled startup. I keep running into these errors both on install and when I try to cleanup for another attempt:
?You have previously uninstalled drivers without rebooting. Please reboot now and try again.
    or
?You have previously installed drivers without rebooting. Please reboot now and try again.
The IRQs are sharing with minimal devices. They are actually much better set know than before when it was working. I've tried the card in many locations. It used to work fine. The hardware device manager shows no conflicts.
Sometimes the drivers do in fact install and the device manager reports that the card is functioning fine but the creative programs don't find the card and report that it is missing or not functioning?
Other times the drivers fail to install reporting that they were previously installed without a reboot.
Is there a secret order to installing successfully?
    such-as
    -cleanup
    2-install from original CD
    3-autoupdate drivers and programs
I've been at it 2 days now with no luck. Any ideas would be very welcome...

I have a simular problem. On the first boot of the day my system will freeze, could be 2sec in, or 2 hours. Once i restart it runds like a dream. Now confirmed it is soundcard drivers by process of elimination. What drivers did you install to get it working without the freezing?

  • Audigy 2 Platinum eX Installation Probl

I'm having mind-bending problems installing my new audigy 2 Patinum eX soundcard.
    Current PC config is:
    Dell Dimension 8250
    Pentium 4 2.66GHz,
    52Mb RAM
    WINDOWS XP SP2
I previously had a Soundblaster Li've! value (Dell OEM) card.
I had all sorts of problems with nothing but random clicking etc. on first installation. Since then I've been through the manual uninstall on the knowledgebase (Solution ID 72) and reinstalled from the CD and applied the latest driver updates via the software autoupdate on this site. It (mysteriously) suggested that soundfonts were a critical part of the installation so I let it go ahead. The card seemed to work OKish after that but with more clicks (but MUCH better than JUST the clicks before). This was late last night and I shut down and went to bed - upon getting up this AM I started up the PC and no I have complete silence EXCEPT that the 'Intro to Windows' sound that you get as it opens up worked (!?!?!?). Since then nothing, no sound from Winamp, no sound from games. Infuriating and why would a reboot cause the thing to stop working?
I should add that it is silent from both the line out socket on the PCI card AND the headphone socket on the external unit.
Any tips of what to try next gratefully received, I'm pulling my hair out here. Pretty soon the old Li've card will be going back in and this will be going back to the shop while I figure out which Non-Creative card to go for.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

  • Audigy Platinum eX External Bay is not work

So I posted a few days ago with this same problem. My external bay is not working, and not even getting power. I uninstalled my Audigy, removed the card and put it in a different PCI slot. Then I reinstalled it. I also unplugged all cables and then put them back in to make sure they are well attached. Still I have problems, and the external bay is useless and unpowered. Anyone have any ideas?

    LoopyG,
If you have done all of these steps and you are still not getting any power from the dri've bay then you will probably want to contact Technical Support to arrange repairs. Their contact page is: http://us.creative.com/support/custsup.

That really depends on what kind of connections it has. At the very least it should have some sort of analog outputs, which you should be able to connect to the line-in (perhaps with an adapter cable if necessary).

  • My onboard soundchip vs. Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX external sound system

    Hi,
I have a Sony PCV-RZ504 computer which has an onboard soundchip (Analog Devices AD98B 6-bit CD-quality stereo sound AC 97 2.). I use a Logitech Z-2200 speakerset (2 x 40 w) with subwoofer (20 w). I'm not fully satisfied with the sound quality and I think that a better soundcard would do justice to my speakerset. I'm not sure how the quality of my soundchip is, but I think that the sound from the speakers would be better if I would have a better soundcard?
I prefer not to open my computer and I just saw this Sound Blaster? Audigy? 2 NX external sound system: http://uk.europe.creative.com/produc...04&product=903
Can someone tell me if I can expect a better sound quality with this system than I have now with my onboard soundchip?
I see that this system deli'vers up to 7. surround but I use two speakers. Would it still be an improvement for me?
If I would use this sound system would I have to remove or disable my onboard soundchip? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Rik.

A dedicated soundcard will almost always be an improvement on the onboard models. To disable the onboard sound you disable it in the bios sreen. Your manual will tell you how to accrees bios,

  • Audigy 4 non-pro, multimedia probl

    Hi there,
Got the Audigy 4 non-pro card, and I'm sticking with it for a long time... but it does have a few problems, I was hoping some of you may have the same problems and could help me. The first one may not be a problem with the card itself.
The thing is, I have a certain DVD-title that has Linear PCM Stereo and DTS-Digital 5. Surround soundtracks. The stereo works fine (let's say in Windows Media Player), but when I switch to DTS (hoping for a surround experience), there is no sound! I am able to have surround sound with most DVDs, although it's usually Dolby Surround. Do I need special software to play DTS soundtracks? I know that PowerDVD (or whatever its' name) has to be upgraded for DTS, but the Windows Media PLayer does have a DTS logo thing, when I play it, but there is no sound!
The other problem seems to be more serious.
When I work with MIDI, or play MIDI files, there's a strange lock-up of the system, although on an irregular basis. Sometimes, suddenly, instantaneously, everything stops, and there is a sustained and quiet MIDI sounds, as though the last notes are held, and the system is in a state of complete lock-up. Does anyone have a problem with taht? Or a solution, even better!
    Cheers.

I think you should try some modded driver. It will provide better sound. Try these following links and find out which driver will give your favorite sound. But remember to back up your system (system restore is a good choice before doing so)

  • Audigy 4 Pro Optical In Probl

    Hey everyone,
I've had an Audigy 4 Pro for about a year now and it's an amazing piece of hardware, but I seem to be having some kind of problem.
I recently had an HD cable box put in my room and I want to connect the optical out port on the cable box to the optical in port on the Audigy 4 I/O box. I made the connections and the optical cable is lit and sending a signal, but I'm not getting any sound out of my speakers. I went into the volume mixer and turned on "S/PDIF-In"?and still nothing. Are there any other settings I need to check? I checked some of the other inputs on the I/O box and they seem to work so I don't understand why this one won't. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

What seems to be a problem is the I/O box is powered on, but not connecting to the card. The power light is on, but the volume knob isn't doing anything and the extra inputs aren't recognized. I didn't touch any of the cables, and they're all secure so I have no idea what's going on.

  • Sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound probl

Ok So let me give you the specs on my computer first,?Windows xp home editionAbit IN9 32 MAX Mobo2 Gigs corsair xms ram2 8800ultra sli gpusLogitech?z-5300 SpeakersSound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound card2 Samsung 500 gig HD?I dont believe that my problem is the same as is in the crackling sound thread. So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I also dont want to have to go out and by the x-fi elite pro tomarrow unless I absolutely have to.Message Edited by TasteOfChaos on 0-0-20080:02 PM

I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!
