  • I suddenly have two flashing lights on my keyboard by the caps lock key and over the end/pg up key.

I encountered a problem waking my laptop (Pavilion dv7-1270us) this morning.  At first it would not wake up and had to do a hard reboot.  Now I have two flashing lights on the keyboard -the caps lock light and the one over the end/pg up keys over the number pad.  I have run several diagnostics and cannot find an answer as to what this is.

  • How do I fix Cartridge Error and flashing light message on my 4215xi all-in-one? I use windows 8.1

This equipment was working just fine after I installed a re-filled black ink cartridge.   A few days later I began to get a flashing light with the message: Cartridge Error. See Product Documentation for details.   Sometimes my computer said the printer was offline when it wasn't.   I have also had occasional cartridge door open messages when the door was closed.    I have removed the two cartrdges, cleaned them with water by using a coffee filter as  a swab.  I have also uninstalled and, I think, reinstalled the software printer driver, but I am not entirely certain as to that.

    Hi there @donpablitosan!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I would be happy to help in regards to the flashing lights and cartridge error on the printer.  You had also mentioned that the computer sometimes shows the printer offline or door open errors.  I should be able to help with that as well!
The first thing I suggest is to plug the printer into the wall outlet directly if it is currently in a power surge protector or extension cord.  This may sound silly but this will ensure the printer is getting full power and may eliminate any unnecessary troubleshooting.  If the printer is no longer getting full power from the power surge or extension cord it may give false errors or have poor connection and paper feed issues.
From what I can find it looks like you have done all the troubleshooting regarding the cartridge itself.  If you have tried the above suggestion and are still getting the same issue then you may need to try another cartridge to see if the issue is coming from the printers hardware or the cartridge.
Thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

  • N95 turn flash light on,and can't turn it off- Pro...

Hi, I have N95-1 firmware v21.0.016. I didn’t decide yet to update new v30, because some reviews I thought that it’s better to skip this and wait next.
The problem I experience with my device is that some time (it’s happened few times) in ordinary use (not camera use), my flash light (camera light) turn on and wont turn off even if I turn phone off. I tried removing the battery and the light goes off. As soon I put the battery back in the light comes on again even phone is still off. When I turn camera on (by opening it), light go off but when I close it it’s turn on again. I find solution, to take any picture, and after that everything goes back to normal.
Does any one else had experience like mine? What can provoke this behavior?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    First thanks for response.
Rrangel, thanks for advice, but I can turn my flash off. It simple, taking picture (and that is the only way for that) and after that everything go in normal. I can close camera and continue to use my phone normally (no flash light on). I can turn phone off and on again, it’s will work normally and no flash light problem. However, this might happened again.
I have 4 GB takems memo card in the phone. And phone wasn’t in contact with water or steam, it never fall or had any defect.
First I thought it’s because some third part application. When it’s happened first time, phone was running Rotate Me, Flip Silent (that I was just installed and test how it’s will work), Advanced Call Manager, and I was rejecting some phone call. I thought it’s because Flip Silent, but second time, phone didn’t run any of those applications, I was just change theme and flash light turn on.
First time I find out that, removing battery and restarting of the phone will not help, so I simply take picture, like first time (delete picture immediate after), and continue to use phone normally. I’m just confused what the reason is?

  • Flashing light in Wrotham supply. And not working wi-fi..

    Hello.
    Flashing light in Wrotham supply.
And not working wi-fi, or rather does not recognize the access point.
They are not on the list .
But the access point is at hand.

    Hi @Game_Developer
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having trouble with wifi connectivity. What light is flashing on that supply? I assume it is the power supply.
Have you tried your notebook with a different wireless network?
Do other devices connect to your router without any trouble?
I would start with this to make sure the wireless is working properly on the notebook, or appears correctly in device manager.
Resolving Universal WLAN, Wireless, and Wi-Fi Errors
And only after verfying that all is good, would you want to look at the following steps, if you are still having troubles.
Troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 8)
Also, you can look at the power management for your wireless adapter:
Disable the Power Off option for the adapter:
    1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. Expand the Network adapters.
    3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.
    4. Click the Power Management tab.
    5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Test.
    Forget the network: (Windows 8)
    1. Press Windows Key + C
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Click Change PC settings.
    4. Click Network on the left.
    5. Click Manage known networks.
    6. Click the network name.
    7. Click Forget.
Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
    3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
    4. Restart your PC and test.
It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:
    1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
    3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
    4. Restart your PC and test.
    Reinstall the network adapter drivers:
    1. Download the drivers from here but do not run them yet.
    2. Go to your start screen/menu and type Device Manager.
    3. Expand Network adapters.
    4. Right click on the wireless adapter and choose Uninstall.
    5. Run the downloaded drivers from step 1.
    6. Restart your PC and test.
    Test an ethernet connection:
Self explanatory. Test if the issue persists on a wired connection to rule out the wireless adapter hardware so troubleshooting can be directed towards the right areas.
    Test another connection:
Many people rule out their home network as an issue if another device is working on the same network. Networking is not that simple. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to rule out settings in that device until the notebook has been tested on another network.

  • Strange noise and flashing lights -- can this be battery/power-related?

I have had two occurrences of a very strange sound and never-before-seen flashing of a light on my TiBook. Here is what happened:
I recently got a new battery (a NewerTech Extend 4800) for my 3 year-old PowerBook. I carefully followed the directions that came with the battery and installed it, then plugged in the power adapter to charge it up. I then started the computer so I could see the battery’s progress. Upon start-up, a “whooo” sort of sound came out of the computer for a few moments and the little sleep indicator light flashed several times (as did the apple light on the back of the computer lid). Nothing appeared to be out of order and the computer started normally otherwise. I was able to monitor the battery’s progress and since everything seemed to work normally and no one I talked to seemed to think I’d damaged anything, I just used the computer normally for the next two weeks with no problems.
Then last night the computer just shut down all by itself – I did not put it to sleep and it is not set to go to sleep on its own (my power saving setting is only set to dim the screen), nor did I click “shut down.” I thought perhaps somehow the power cord had not been attached and the battery had run down, although the new battery has been warning me properly when the battery is getting low, so that doesn’t make sense. It would not wake, so I restarted it. Upon restart, the same noise and flashing light situation occurred again.
I called the company that sold me the battery and the tech guy’s suggestion there was to reset the PMU and he gave me an Apple article to instruct me on how to do that. I have done that, but there is no evidence that that has solved whatever the issue was. I am hoping that someone can identify the sound and lights pattern and advise me as to whether it is some more serious issue, or if it’s nothing to worry about. It has been suggested to me that it is possibly a power adaptor issue, but since I’ve run down and recharged the battery without incident several times in between the two occurrences, that doesn’t seem logical either. Is there a known signal a computer makes when there is some power/charging issue?
Thanks for any help you have or for at least posting if you have had a similar experience. So far, no one I’ve talked to has ever heard of this before.

    Hi ChloeB,
Your description of the "moaning" sounds at startup sounds like something I'm dealing with. I came across the following post by EWW in the "My Powerbook Won't Start Up". I recommend the link and wish to specifically credit EWW with the posting, as I found it helpful. The URL is

Hi, limberlingo, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Power On Self-Test Beep Definition - Part 2 (Oct. 1999 and later Macs)
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58442
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
Your Powerbook is not detecting any good RAM at startup. This may indicate that your RAM (all of it — do you have one module or two installed?) has gone bad, or that it isn't seated properly. The first thing to try is reseating it: remove the module(s) and then reinsert it(them). Then try starting up again. If that doesn't do the trick, and you have only one RAM module, it's probably bad and will have to be replaced. A single RAM module having intermittent problems before failing completely (as it apparently has now) would account for all your problems.
If you have two modules, it's much less likely that both of them have failed or loosened in their slots simultaneously. Post back with results of your testing.

There's another thread I found where one of the causes of a three-tone warning was found to be a pinched ribbon cable coming off the bottom of the trackpad. You can find that in the thread titled "Solution to Freezes Caused By Ribbon Cable" - - the information provided by Marc Posner, Anthony Brade and others.

if your camera setting is automatic, the light will come on. you will have to personalize a setting with the light off and choose that setting when taking photos. you may have to do this everytime you start the camera because this phone isn't good at remembering settings as a result it reverts to automatic settings.
    hope this helps.

  • Camera Issues -- Flash light

All the pictures I took with the flash light were covered by a white layer.  My Z1 has been updated to the most recent version.  I tried to use the auto-mode or manual mode.  I always get a white layer, like I am in the fog on all my picture.
    Please help!

Well, me and my friends were testing this phone and out of 20 people 2 had this problem i was one of them
... we all had same model of black xperia z1.
I managed to get to the bottom of this .... i think. First of all if u have additional case cover with too small "window" around the lens or additional protective foil the problem is getting even bigger.... foil transports more light fom flash so check if the photo is better wothout additional protective foil or case cover (im not talking about original one).
    Anyway....
My phone has silver border around the lens and i had same problem over and over again. Sometimes when i restarted it i managed to get few pictures of god quality.........one day i just painted this silver border with thin black marker with caution and....viola.... problem dissapered... funny thing because out of 20 same models ony 2 experienced same problem ... all looked the same, dunno maybe flash is brighen on those 2 mabe some other problem ....anyway i know its not the best solution and it but it helped me. cheers

  • How to stop flashing lights using Playstation DualShock 3 controller in Mavericks?

Mavericks allows the Playstation DualShock 3 controller to pair via Bluetooth very quickly, however the lights on the controller keep flashing like the controller is still in pairing mode.  The controls work fine, but I worry that the flashing lights will drain the controller battery.
Does anyone have experience with this?  I bought the controller specficially because I read that Mavericks supported the controller.
    I'm using a 15" rMBP late 2013.

I recently purchased and paired the DualShock 3 to Mavericks 10.9.5. I'm having the exact same experience as Brian noted above: it works great, but the 4 lights blink continuously. If anyone has any thoughts or Brian if you every found a solution to this, I'd appreciate the input.
    Thanks!
