Audigy 2 OEM installation probl

Hi all,
Basically im here to moan and complain :P
Bought audigy 2 card from overlcockers.co.uk
installed into machine, machine recognised new audio control card, cant wait i think to myself whilst i enjoy 24 bit sound rather than crappy realtek 97 on board audio i using.
Now to get drivers, go to soundblaster.com click on auto update web finds i have the audigy 2 card installed and recomends the right set of drivers.
go to install them and get error message saying "Setup can not find the required set of components, etc etc", hmmmm i thought to myself.
Basically i've spent 2 days and roughly 0 hours trying to install drivers all to no succes for this card. Before any of you say try this try that, i have tried EVERYTHING.
Changed PCI slots, tried different drivers, reformated PC, etc etc. Everything some one has mentioned on a forum i have tried.
So i emailed creative, "Sorry sir, but you can not get this working without the original installtion CD, we have no working drivers for this card on the website, only updates"
Great, whats the friggin point of selling an OEM with no CD when you need the CD to get it working?
Im friggin pissed, if anyone can send me an iso of the cd (which i have found on the net but it downloads at 0k a second and its 566 meg big) can you email me at [email protected]][email protected]
All the forums i've read about this loads of people have had the same problem, its something to do with OEM hardware not having a hardware identifier on it and therefore the web drivers wont recognise the card is installed.
This thread may get deleted im sure by someone at creative for me swearing in it, but seriously im so unhappy with creative and the audigy 2 oem card i have that i've just got to the point where i dont care,
VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER, i will be really happy if some one at creative does something for me so i can get the soundcard working.

Thanks guys for responding to my post,
Ive tried everything that you have mentioned and still have no success, the kx drivers dont seem to have the audigy 2 oem driver (which is the sb0400) and when i try to install the generic driver my machine crashed and reboots with a "windows has recovered from a serious error" message.
The guide of how to properly install the soundblaster drivers i've already tried to no avail just to find the same "Setup did not find the required set of hardware on your machine" error message.
Im now sitting in my mates bedroom with my PC set up (having a LAN :P), and tried his audigy oem installation CD and still i get the same error message (just to remind you i have the audigy 2 OEM card, hey it was worth a try)
Im now at the point where i cant get my hands on an audigy 2 OEM CD as the helpdesk from soundblaster has refered me to my "vendor" and its now the weekened and they arent open till monday.
To say im furious is a bit of an understatement as i now have to use my realtek 97 onboard sound and has ruined my LAN party.
Im now contemplating purchasing a retail card from PC World and putting the OEM card back in the box and taking it back to PCWorld for a refund LOL.
My advice, dont purchase an OEM card PERIOD.

• Problems with DLed ISO of Audigy 2 Installation

Okay, so i DLed the ISo of the audigy 2 installation CD, mounted it on a CD emulator and it runs fine, but when i get to the point where i need to install the drivers it gives me an error saying i don't have any Audigy 2 Hardware installed on my motherboard. Which i know is false because with other driver updates my card works for the most part.
But i want the media controll center that comes with the CD and want to make use of this ISO, the ISO is the exact same of my CD to the extent it gives me the same exact options for my Audigy 2 regular 6. surround sound. Does anyone else have this problem or had and know what to do from here?
I'm running from a clean re-format and it's a good clean format, this is strictly an ISO or sound card related problem. i'm 99.99% sure it's because of the ISO not detecting my hardware, but i know it's functional and in there. CAN anyone, anyone at all! please for the love of god, i have litterally whimpered to myself and pulled hair out because of this issue! arghhhh someone free me from my audigy 2 prison! anyways lol, any help much appreciated.

If your card is an OEM model, you may need to patch the installer. This is done w/ ctcomp.exe utility --> search this forum after it's name so you get the dl link and some instructions how to patch.
After you have drivers installed, then you can manually install those applications you like to have (may need to have patch those installers too).

• Creative Audigy Platinum Installation Help with Pentium 4 3.2GHz HT Enab

:mansad:
Dear Fellows,I have recently upgraded to a new Pentium 4 machine. The config is as follows:Pentium 4 3.2eGHz MB cache HT (Hyper-Threading Enabled)Intel Original 865GBF MainboardGB Kingston DDR 400MHz RAM20GB SATA WD HDDSound Blaster Audigy PlatinumATI RADEON 8500 DV 64MBThe problem I am facing is with Audigy Platinum. Once I install the operating system (Win XP) and move to the installation of Creative Audigy Platinum Sound card. All the applications are installed and the system hangs while updating *drivers*. I restarted but it corrupts the whole operating system conflicting with Display Driver, Mainboard driver as well as Windows. CD/DVD Rom also disappear. I then reinstalled operating system again. I would like to request for help and solving this issue and I dont want to get rid of Creative Audigy. I have heard complaints with Hyper-threading technology but I disabled it and the same problem occured. I tried everything e.g. latest drivers from Creative website, BIOS updates, Driver updates etc etc. The problem starts once the drivers are to be updated for Creative Audigy Platinum.Anticipating your response soon.Regards,

Hi Jeremy,
I would like to thank you for your kind assistance with my problem.
Heres the good news, I finally managed to install and run my Creative Audigy Platinum perfectly.
Credit goes to your assitance and support.
For your info, I would like you to know what I really did.
I have an Intel Genuine 865GBF mainboard. I installed clean copy of Windows XP (SP) and downloaded and installed latest Chipset INF utility from Intel website. I guess this utility tells the mainboard what kind of hardware is configured on the board.
Please note that I did not add any PCI card except the AGP graphics card.
After finishing Windows XP, I installed the Creative Audigy Card in a different PCI slot. When windows started, it detected the sound card installed.
I simply ran the driver and programs from the Creative CD and it installed perfectly. I then updated the drivers downloaded from the Sound Blaster site in correct order.
After finishing with Creative Audigy Platinum installation. I installed other hardware devices, service packs, AV and applications.
Its the third day and everything is running well.
I just wrote the steps if someone else faces the same problem, he/she can sort it out the same way.
Thanks again for your help.
Best regards,

• Creative Audigy OEM + Genius SW-HF 5.1 5000 = grand problem with subwoo

Hello!
I bought Audigy OEM 2 days ago, connected it to my motherboard and installed provided software. After updating I pluged in my headphones - everything was brilliant. But in the evening I connected my 5. speakers - Genius SW-HF 5. 5000 Home Theater and I can't hear my subwoofer. In mp3, movies or games it's dead, but in speakers configuration I can hear noise from it, like it should be. Everything is connected like it ought to be and like I said software is the newest one from creative website.
I've found similar problem on this forum:
Here it is
I don't wanna any bass redirection because my soobwoofer doesn't sound anyway, only other speakers give more bass.
And here is my question:
Where are drivers which will solve my problem?
The "newest" ones are pretty old (9 Oct 06), didn't you have time to repair them?
You should patch them because me and many other people want to use our sound cards. I googled (Polish Google) for answers and found A LOT of similar cases and NO response from your support group.
What is this??
I've thought about x-fi sound card but will you guarantee me that it will work properly because it costs twice as much? I don't think so.
Oh and by the way, on the Realtek integrated sound card everything is like it should be but the sound quality is worse, so it can work properly.
Sempron 2800+

Audigy OEM
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT
Windows XP with SP2 and every update available?

I'm waiting for response from support group, sorry for my English?

• SB Audigy OEM and Vista with SP

I've just purchased the Audigy OEM with the external SPDIF connection. I have plugged this in to my amp (Marantz 9200) and can get sound using Vista Media Centre and DTS or Dolby sound ok. I'm unable to play any music however via the SPDIF connector. Does anybody know a fix for this? Will music play via media player via optical/coax, or do you have to connect the single pin to stereo output? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately if you read the release notes for the Vista compatible driver it tells you not to use it on your particular sound card ;(?http://us.creative.com/support/downl...rtype=&x=2&y=7?Notes:
DO NOT?install this driver for Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit, Sound Blaster Audigy LS, Sound Blaster Audigy SE, or Sound Blaster Audigy Value.<However when you tell the site you have an Audigy Value card it directs you to these incompatible drivers

few things you can check :
a) Is there a password file ? Is the password correct in it ?
b) SYSDBA remote login is disabled. remote_login_passwordfile is not set to EXCLUSIVE in the spfile or init.ora.
Set: remote_login_passwordfile= EXCLUSIVE
Create a password file:
Unix: $
orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=sys entries=5
Windows:
C:\> orapwd file=%ORACLE_HOME%\database\pwd%ORACLE_SID% password= sys entries=5
To synchronize the password for sys for normal connections and connections as sysdba connect as a sysdba user and reset the sys password:
$ sqlplus "/ as sysdba" SQL> ALTER USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY change_on_install;

• Audigy only installs to

Hi. i thought I'd pick the brains with the group before I bother tech support. I have a SoyoP4VGA mobo (onboard is disabled), Celeron2.4, setup is W98SE. Revisions of the Audigy, OEM SB060, the disk is Sound Blaster Audigy/Li've! SBMA-CDSD-W5-LB QS: 64527(no harm I see in giving that info), by way of its "disk ID" file. When I attempted install, twice, it stalled at 60%, asking for the data3.cab file, with the browse directed to Goldmine. But there is no data3.cab on the disk and any net search I do refers to specific games' file.
The SB files are partially installed and now call for clearing unfound files when i load W98. I -did- install the baare drivers via the disk, though that doesn't help the problem. And I cannot uninstall the SB files from the system.
Help, Mr. Wizard!

I had the same problems trying to install XP on to my SATA drive with my PATA drives connected. For some reason, XP would not let me select the SATA drive. What I ended up doing was disconnecting the PATA drives and then install XP on the SATA drive. Once XP was installed and running, I connected the PATA drives and everything worked out as I wanted. My BIOS setup was exactly described above.
This was actually my second install of XP on this computer. I had to reformat to get the right partions. Anyways on my first install, I only had a SATA drive in the computer. No problems installing XP. I reformatted, installed a PATA drive, and then ran into problems. I wonder why XP wants to always install into IDE0.

• Audigy 2 Platinum eX Installation Probl

I'm having mind-bending problems installing my new audigy 2 Patinum eX soundcard.
Current PC config is:
Dell Dimension 8250
Pentium 4 2.66GHz,
52Mb RAM
WINDOWS XP SP2
I previously had a Soundblaster Li've! value (Dell OEM) card.
I had all sorts of problems with nothing but random clicking etc. on first installation. Since then I've been through the manual uninstall on the knowledgebase (Solution ID 72) and reinstalled from the CD and applied the latest driver updates via the software autoupdate on this site. It (mysteriously) suggested that soundfonts were a critical part of the installation so I let it go ahead. The card seemed to work OKish after that but with more clicks (but MUCH better than JUST the clicks before). This was late last night and I shut down and went to bed - upon getting up this AM I started up the PC and no I have complete silence EXCEPT that the 'Intro to Windows' sound that you get as it opens up worked (!?!?!?). Since then nothing, no sound from Winamp, no sound from games. Infuriating and why would a reboot cause the thing to stop working?
I should add that it is silent from both the line out socket on the PCI card AND the headphone socket on the external unit.
Any tips of what to try next gratefully received, I'm pulling my hair out here. Pretty soon the old Li've card will be going back in and this will be going back to the shop while I figure out which Non-Creative card to go for.
Cheers,
Greg.

I have a simular problem. On the first boot of the day my system will freeze, could be 2sec in, or 2 hours. Once i restart it runds like a dream. Now confirmed it is soundcard drivers by process of elimination. What drivers did you install to get it working without the freezing?

• How to run a OEM installation on Extrem Gamer (silent install)

>Hi.
I'm having problems with the lastest driver for Extrem Gamer (2_8_005).
I can't get it to install silent. I have tried the main setup.exe with /s.
When I try to record the setup with /r the setup?would not?complete.
Sbxf\setup /s work occasionally, the same with ctzapxx /s. But it usually take several reboots and attempts.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

BBecause there is 2 drivers, for retail and oem hendrix series. Both include (or in this case must include) same AppSetup.exe. To reduce installation size Creative put only one copy in root directory, regular installer automatically place it in correct location before proceeding.

Hi. Was almost htrough with installing all my applications under Windoes7, even my soundcard was responsding to MIDI..., and Windows 7 even got me the newest audio driver for the card.
BUT then I noticed i could not record any sound. I was prompted to reinstall the software.
When the installation process reched the point of installing the driver (of course, on the CD-ROM that one was older!), the whole system was frozen and I could only shut down. After that, Windows7 would not start anymore. No chance, no restoring an earlier point of installation (they were all gone).
Well, I made it all new, but now the device manager keeps telling me there is no Audio Device, but additionally a PCI problem.
When I tried to install the Soundblaster-software, the program quit "no Soundblaster Audigy 2 card in thie computer".

• Solaris 10.2 OEM Installation: but emctl displays OMS version is 10.1

Hi,
How can I validate the correct version of the installation I did. I though Iwas installing OEM GC Solaris 10.2.0.1. Installer said it was 10.2.0.1. I did an OMS and AGENT install all using same software distro and when I run ./emctl in the agent home/bin it says my Agent and OMS are version 10.1.0.1
--catharine

I think the OTN at one time had the wrong software up there but if you saw it install 10.2 then you should have it. Any chance you are grabbing the emctl from another Oracle home?
Of course you could check with ./runInstaller but how about just looking in /opt/app/oracle/product/agent10g/relnotes ?

• 12c OEM Installation -- adding a OMS node

Hi Experts,
I gone through the steps mentioned in the below document for adding an additional OMS node for the existing OEM with one OMS.
=====================================
Oracle® Enterprise Manager
Cloud Control Basic Installation Guide
12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1)
E22624-12
7 : : Adding Additional Oracle Management Service
=================================
This procedure deals with adding the adding OMS using "Add Additional OMS Deployment Procedure".
My question is , is this the only method we have to add the additional OMS to the OEM 12c ? or do we have any other method to perform this ?
Please let me know if there is any other method other than one mentioned above.

The recommened way to do an additional OMS install is using deploymnet procedure but you can also do an silent OMS install as well , where you have to run all the steps manually on the server.
if you have any security restrictions or audit demands in your environment, or if you are not permitted to use Oracle credentials to log in over the network for installation, then follow these steps to manually install an additional OMS in silent, non-interactive mode.

• Embed integrator software on Windows OEM installation CD.

I represent multinational company that installs a software product on a computer with  Windows 7 OEM operating system.
I wonder if it is possible to generate a Windows installation CD that contains the installation of my software product embedded, and also some specific driver installations and any changes to the registry.

Hi,
You can use MDT to finish this job, here is an example using MDT deploy a Windows 8.1 image.
