Audigy 2 Platinum big probl

Hi,
Im a Flightsimmer and useing Flightsim FS2004 (aka FS9.) with some addon planes and until now newer had any problems until I bought an addon for FS9 CaptainSim C-30. The following habbened. Between 2-5min inflight the whole sim + windows freezes and a sound (no BIOS sound)?comes from the speakers I know that by just turning the volume down on the speakers. Im not able to close the sim or?windows down normaly only by useing the On/Off botton. Beli've when it habben first time?it freaked me out and never had this problem with any demanding?or advance addons (or more demanding that this C-30 addon). On CaptainSims site they?inform that there are an Audigy 2 driver issue with this product. My question is can a soundcart/driver crash a whole system the way it does on my system (I have latest driver installed via the auto download)?. What can I do software/firmware vice to better my situation with this soundcart?I do have problems to get the right support from them even though it`s a known issue with the product (they are quiret). My computer spec are way above the requirement published on the website. Please can some one here point me in some direction. Kind regardsPingo.

I came here looking for this exact problem. However mine is NEVER in sync when I use the SPDIF mode. As soon as I turn it to normal stereo it works fine. In a related issue, the sound playback of any DVD is about half of everything else on my system. I have to turn up the volume to about 80% to hear a DVD at a listenable level whereas normal volume for me is at 40%.
My stats are as follows: P4 3.2c, Abit IC7-G, 2GB DDR PC3200, Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, BFG 6800GT OC, XP Home SP2, and the Nvidia DVD Decoder. Everything is running the latest drivers. The volume problem has been happening ever since I purchased this ZS. I never had the problem with my older Audigy 2. The SPDIF issue is new to me since I have only recently been using it. Any ideas?

Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum BIG Proble

I have sound blaster audigy platinum and in few weeks I have got this strange problem that I?ve hadn't before. If I use old drivers for it, windows gives me blue screen with "bad pool caller" very often when I play or just listen music. With new drivers it gives me "driver irql not less or equal". At the same time in linux it works fine. In windows I've checked viruses etc. reinstalled windows many times, used memtest and so on. Finally 2 days ago I took my Sound blaster off my computer and ever since I haven't got any problems. So it obviously is the problem. But I just don't know what to do anymore to get it work? Now I use the sound card that comes integrated with my motherboard but it's not as good. Btw I don't use integrated sound card same time with sound blaster. Please Help!

my computer crashed a few months ago and I when I try to install all the updates to my card I get this message from the Creative Audio Console and in the install shield (both for UNinstall and install) I get

I solve the problem changing the internal cable, with a new one, that conects front panel with audio card...!!

Ok So let me give you the specs on my computer first,?Windows xp home editionAbit IN9 32 MAX Mobo2 Gigs corsair xms ram2 8800ultra sli gpusLogitech?z-5300 SpeakersSound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound card2 Samsung 500 gig HD?I dont believe that my problem is the same as is in the crackling sound thread. So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

Aux 2 Soundblaster Audigy platinum probl

Hi there.
I used to have problems with using aux 2 (red/white on the front panel of audigy platinum) , bascially
because the volume control in windows didnt have aux 2 volume control under advanced. After contacting support and updating my drivers I think with the webupdate on creative.com aux 2 was listed in the advanced volume control thingy, so I could check the box and untick the mute setting.
But after some formatting and new installation of my soundcard I cant find a way to get the aux 2 volume control back. Its just not listed and I am not able to hear sound through my speakers. I tried all updates that are downloadable from creative.com ; also the autoupdate software of creative. No luck at all.
Can someone please help me to get my aux 2 volume control back ?Greetz

SB Audigy Platinum SB0090 PlayCenter3_02_52 and SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_0016 proble

I lost my original software CD's for my Audigy Platinum (SB0090.) I downloaded SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006 drivers and PlayCenter3_02_52 as per the SB download site. The drivers work correctly. When I try to load the PlayCenter3_02_52 it says it won't work with the drivers (SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006) and that it must have the newer Li've! drivers.
Frustrating to say the least. Incorrect files and a poor knowledge base make it so hard to install the devices. Can someone help with information on the product and files?

Wenn ich derzeit die Treiber der X-Fi installiere, installiere ich immer die ben?tigten Anwendungen von der Original-CD. Erst danach mache ich die Updates von der Web-Seite drauf - allerdings immer manuell. Das Autoupdate habe ich leider noch nie probiert.
Bei der Audigy und 2 habe ich am Schluss auch immer nur die Treiber installiert, sonst nichts. Die Lautsprecher-Einstellungen habe ich dann einfach mit der Audio-Console vorgenommen. Lautst?rke, Bass, H?hen kann man ja genausogut mit den Standard-Windows-Programm vornehmen, den Sinn der zus?tzlichen Creatve-Programme ging mir zunehmend verloren. Bei der X-Fi kann ich leider nicht alles mit Board-Mitteln einstellen, deshalb installiere ich nun wieder die Software..
An Deiner Stelle w?rde ich alles mal deinstallieren. Dann Original-CD und die heruntergeladenen Updates installieren. So klappts bei der X-Fi wunderbar.

Hi all, and a big hello from a beginner in this forum!
I'm going to download new drivers for my old Audigy Platinum (200), the file name is: sabx_webup_lb_2_08_0004.
My question is: does it works good?
One year ago I downloaded a driver from this site and my XP SP2 crashed!!
Does it worth, anyway? I have no problems with my sound card and I don't know if it is really necessary to update the driver...
Maybe anyone installed the new driver and had problems?

Drivers v. 02.08.0004 works perfectly. Just install the driver update by following the instructions found behind link below.

Will I be able to hear surround sound from the xbox game trough my analog speakers this way (When the PC is turned on offcourse.), or will i get (upmixed) stereo audio, or even worse: no sound at all?

That's correct in your case (connecting to the expansion bay) the soundcard will decode the DolbyDigital and send it to the analog speakers.
For me it is veird that you want to us a whole PC to do that - energy consumption, heat, space occupied (you will need a separate monitor for PC and a big-screen TV for XBox 360).
Another solution would be an external decoder - like a digital receiver or Creative's DDTS-00: http://www.creative.com/products/pro...6&product=9468

Audigy Drive on Audigy Platinum Not Recogni

I have a custom built (read, I built it myself) AMD 2200 XP with GB Ram and a 420 W Power Supply. It has a Soyo Dragon KT333 Ultimate Platinum motherboard. I have had it up and running for about 2 years and the Audigy Platinum Sound Card works beautifully. However, I have NEVER been able to get Windows XP Pro to recognize the Audigy Dri've that goes in the 5.25 in. Dri've Bay. It hasn't been a big deal, because my computer has been out of it's cubby hole for the last two years for various other reasons. However, I now want to put it where it belongs and would like to get it working before I put it away. The cables are all hooked up right. I have tried fi've different connections from my power supply and still can't get any indication of power being supplied to it or get XP Pro to see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you have tried multiple power adaptors one thing to check would be to see if the Red Light on the optical out (after removing the cover that is) ever comes on. If it doesn't then it is most likely a hardware problem and you will want to have the dri've repaired. Headset no longer works with Audigy Platinum dr

I have a Logitech headset that plugs into the headphone and mic jacks on the Audigy Platinum dri've. On Saturday I had to do some work in my computer, so I disconnected the dri've from the card to get the data cable out of the way.
This may not be related (I hope not), but I plugged my floppy dri've in wrong and fried the floppy dri've and melted the wire to the PSU. I got a new floppy dri've and PSU. I don't believe the sound card or Platinum dri've were effected because they both work fine otherwise.
Anyway I no longer get any sound from my headphones when they're plugged into the dri've, but do get sound when they're plugged into the Creative Labs remote control for my speakers. I get no sound from my mic when it's plugged into the mic jack on the Platinum dri've either. I haven't tested it with another jack yet, but assume it'd work.
I also notice in my Windows mixer, that the option for Line In/Mic 2 is no longer there, either in the main part, or under Recording. Line In/Mic 2 is the mic jack on the Platinum Dri've.
The Platinum dri've works fine otherwise. I can use the firewire port on it and I know it's receiving power because I can see the red light in the optical connector. To be sure, I went back inside my computer and doublechecked the connections. It IS hooked up properly.
How can I get the jacks to work again, short of uninstalling/reinstalling the driver? I don't think this is necessary because the sound works otherwise. Thanks all!

The Audigy dri've works from three different cables. One is the power cable, one is the IEEE394 cable, and the last is the data cable. If the power cable and IEEE394 cables are connected, but the data cable is not fully seated, you will see power from the optical output and the 394 port will work, but the inputs and outputs will not work or be seen by the Windows mixer.
I would definitely try reseating that data cable. Also make sure that none of the pins are bent. If that doesn't work, you may want to try moving the card to different slots.

Heres the good news, I finally managed to install and run my Creative Audigy Platinum perfectly.
Credit goes to your assitance and support.
For your info, I would like you to know what I really did.
I have an Intel Genuine 865GBF mainboard. I installed clean copy of Windows XP (SP) and downloaded and installed latest Chipset INF utility from Intel website. I guess this utility tells the mainboard what kind of hardware is configured on the board.
Please note that I did not add any PCI card except the AGP graphics card.
After finishing Windows XP, I installed the Creative Audigy Card in a different PCI slot. When windows started, it detected the sound card installed.
I simply ran the driver and programs from the Creative CD and it installed perfectly. I then updated the drivers downloaded from the Sound Blaster site in correct order.
After finishing with Creative Audigy Platinum installation. I installed other hardware devices, service packs, AV and applications.
Its the third day and everything is running well.
I just wrote the steps if someone else faces the same problem, he/she can sort it out the same way.

Need application software for Audigy Platinum

I just re-installed my Audigy Platinum card and dri've into an XP SP3 system, downloaded the latest drivers from Creative and it works just fine (ty Creative!). I even used the optical out connection to my Denon 5. AVR and it sounds great.
However, I don't have any of the application software and can't seem to download that software from the website without having some old application software already installed. Is there a work around?
I do have the original disk for the following Creative cards (which I also own):
Sound Blaster 6 PCI (part # 220ML0003020)
Sound Blaster Li've!? (part # 220ML0003060)
Sound Blaster AWE64 (part # 73330530-)
I'm reluctant to try installing any of the applications from these disks in order to enable the appropriate application software to be downloaded/installed off the web, as I don't want to risk messing up the present clean driver installation. I did try putting the disks in the dvd dri've to see if that would enable the download/install process (this has worked with other products) to no avail.
I would very much like to have the complete set of applications for this still excellent card/dri've so I can enjoy the full functionality of the Audigy Platinum.
Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

It worked flawlessly.
However, I did a messy job of installing it. I had installed the beta drivers before using the iso, and then when I installed the CD and its drivers none of the utilities worked. I then tried uninstalling the utilities but the installation stalled and failed repeatedly. Luckily, I had the option to system restore, but it was on a save point in the middle of installation. So its a pretty sloppy job.
One thing: when switching between modules (EQ, or volume control, or EAX); there is a 6 second wait.
Also, EAX reverb does not work well on Soundfonts (very faint reverb, but definetely not sufficient).
But thank you very much for saving my life.

SB Audigy Platinum Microphone Line2/Mic2 settings h

I have the original SB Audigy Platinum that includes the external bay device. When plugging a headset into the headphone and line2/mic2 connectors, the headphones work and the microphone on the headset does not. I have done some investigation and it appears that the default audio in device is the microphone. I believe that the microphone points to the mic in connector on the PCI soundcard. If I use the Sound Mixer I can manually change the audio in from microphone to line/mic2 and the headset microphone works. However if I stop the using the microphone and then try and use it again I discover that the setting has been changed back to microphone. So everytime we want to use the microphone we must go to the sound mixer and manually make the change. Is there anyway to save the setting line2/mic2 to make it permanent? One of the reasons for having the external bay device to allow the headet to be connected and disconnected without reaching around the back. I am tryng to make this easy for my wife to use (with Skype) without the hassle of the extras ste

This is one of those classic issues where the application folk (like IM clients and Skype) say to ask the SB folk what can be done and you (the SB folk) ask if the application owners can change their applications. So I am exploring options. Gi'ven that we don't use the 'mic in' (mic - microphone) connector on the PCI card, is there any way to reset the Audigy so that the external bay line/mic2 can be recognized as mic or the microphone? Perhaps there's a jumper or soft switch setting? Otherwise, is there anyway at all from the SB side (card, jumpers, drivers, Creative apps) to set the microphone to line2/mic2? Like I say I am looking for ideas from the SB side.

SB Audigy Platinum EX keeps defaulting to 2 speak

I have a soundblaster audigy platinum EX running under windows XP with a set of 4. speakers.
I set the speaker setup to 4 speakers in the creative software, and it works fine for a day or 2, and then I find it has defaulted back to 2 speakers. I had exactly the same problem with my previous SB Li've 024 player whilst running on windows XP, although it was perfect under windows98. I am using the latest drivers, but this has made no difference at all. I have heard of other poeple having this problem also, but I have never heard of a solution to it. This is now getting very frustrating, as I purchased the audigy to get around this problem, believing that the real problem was due to the sbli've 024 player not being fully supported under windowsXP, but now I realise that obviously wasnt the reason.
Any answers or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Search after software called ctpanel.exe from your hard dri've or if you have installed the latest drivers (02.08.00.0004) for your card, there should be a Console application called "Creative Audio Console" bundled w/ the driver installation (though, I don't know if you get it installed for your card).

No digital sound after Vista upgrade on Audigy Platinum

I finally got around to upgrading my Media Center PC from Win XP to Win Vista Ultimate x64. Following the upgrade and after installing the latest official drivers for my Audigy Platinum, I am unable to get any sound when using the digital out on the sound card. I also made sure to change the Audio Console setting to use SPDIF. If I switch to normal line out, it works fine and digital out worked fine on Win XP.
I tried searching but only came up with threads pertaining to the X-Fi and Audigy 2.
Is there something else Im missing to get this working in Vista?

I just finally had the chance to install these drivers and I still have no sound coming out when I connect to the digital out of my Audigy card. Again, Ive verified the Audio console has been changed to SPDIF output and still nothing.
Is there something Im missing here? Are there other settings I need to change / set in Vista to get this working? This is very frustrating that this worked without issue in XP and I really dont want to have to go back to it.
Any help is much appreciated!!
