Audigy 2 to 360 5.1 troub

Ok, here's the skibby. I have my 360 running through the front panel AUX on the Audigy 2, on my PC. So that's two RCA's plugged into the front panel. I game and websurf in the same spot
Now, for some reason, I can't get a true 5. signal. I want each corresponding angle to go to it's respecti've speaker. Does the front panel AUX not allow the 5. signal to go through? Is there anyway I can rectify this to get a true 5.
I've checked the settings on my 360 and it's set for the 5. dolby, and the audio console is set for 5. as well. Can anyone help me out?

Okay, thanks man. That answers my question. I'm new to Spdif. And all my recievers are a little too old for that format. Guess I'm going to by a new reciever, then run it through. Thanks man.

    #Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro + Xbox 360? My xbox360 audio setup:
Xbox360 - Optical audio out - Dolby Digital 5. / Dolby Digital with WMA / Digital Stereo
Cable - Meter Fiber Optic cable audio Cable
Input - SPDIF/Optical-IN on Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro External Dri've
    Decoder - Creative Built-in Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF-In Decode @ 48/96KHz
    Speakers - Creative Inspire T7700 7.
OS: Windows XP/Vista with Latest Creative drivers.
    Concern:
1 - Whenever Xbox starts up - i have to remove the cable and replug it in for the sound to start coming.
2 - If i play any video or movie - there is no audio heard and after the movie ends - i have to reconnect the audio cable for the system sounds to return. (this does not apply to in-game FMV)
3 - Sound breaks and cracks in some games during multiple loud audio scenes. Such as in Forza3 - a car crash would cause cracking/breaking sound.
Overall most games run fine - I just dont know why no audio is heard when a movie is played! I've tried all different audio setups on the 360 but nothing works (WMA makes cracking worse)
    Whats the cause and cure?

    Problem solved.

  • Connecting an XBox 360 & Audigy for 5.1 with HDA-

    Hi all,
I am attempting to hook up and Xbox 360 through my Audigy SB060 in order to obtain true 5. surround (running Windows Vista Ultimate).
I have obtained a Hitech HDA-X0 which gives me Optical inputs for the Audigy card and connects to the Audigy via a 20-pin extension header.
Basically I need the sound to go 360--->optical input of X0--->connected to Audigy by 20 pin header--->decoded by Audigy--->analogue outputs to my Logitech 5. speakers.
I have been assured by the people who sold me the X0 that this would work.
Unfortunately the manual is all in Korean!
As best I can make out it says that I ought to set the SPDIF settings in AudioHQ to AC-3 SPDIF-In.
    This presents two problems:
. The current drivers for Audigy cards in Vista use Creative Audio Console not AudioHQ and
    2. In Audio Console under SPDIF I/O, there are options only for Default and SPDIF Bypass.
When set to SPDIF Bypass there is no sound at all.
When set to default, I get sound from the 360 but only if the 360 is set to Digital Stereo output.
When I set the 360 to Digital 5., the sound sto

I think my problem lies in the lack of an AC-3 SPDIF-In setting in Audio Console.
Can anyone provide me with a solution?

    Solved my own problem.
Took a look at the Audigy Vista driver release notes and saw that decoding has been disabled.
Once I dual booted into XP, the surround worked perfectly.
Guess I'll be trying out the nomoregoatsoup drivers so I can get it working in Vista too.
Come on Creative, get your act together.

  • XBox 360/Audigy: SPDIF IN pass through to SPDIF OUT not working with 5.1

    Hi,
I've a problem passing my digital dobly signal from my 360 over the Audigy soundblaster to my external decoder. I want to use digital SPDIF IN from the audigy?IO device to pass the signal directly without processing to the external decoder by using the SPDIF OUT.
There is only one digital in at the decoder, so I need this combination if I want my PC and XBox to be connected both without a toslink switch.
I activated the pass through and external decoder option in the audigy console application. I also disabled the DDL encoder. Additionally I set my Windows 7 speaker settings to use SPDIF OUT as standard device.
This is working for every dolby digital signal?from a dvd which I play on my PC, but not for the XBox signal. The signal is not recognized as a 5. dolby digital signal, but as a 2.0 signal. So something must happen with the signal in the audigy. The XBox settings are correct, because when I connect the toslink cable directly to the decoder everything works fine.
My drivers are the newest one (3.8)?from the support pack.
I don't want to use the DDL option, because the latency is much to high to allow regular playing!
Is there a possibility to pass the XBox signal through to my decoder by using the digital in and out of the audigy?
    Thanks in advance,
    Axel

Hi I have the same probleme, exept that I have succesfuly pluged my home theater receiver and the 5.1 works. Just my subwoofer seems not to work properly. Like when I plug it into a digital dvd player it works very nicely. but when pluged into the sound card it seems that it dosnt have any signal for it.
ANy clues??? I know i pluged everything finely I have tested the sound test for each speaker and sub to, from the receiver and from the creative software the sub seems to work but very quietly even if I cran the volume up on the sub or in the software , the sub dont work as it should.
1 thing I remarqued is that the sub works occasionaly in some movies. When listening to the music it not working and I dont understand that.

  • Soundblaster Audigy Platinum EX + Xbox 360 = Surrou

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum, so don't shoot me if i ask something obvious. Also I am sorry for my bad English, please keep in mind that I'm not a nati've speaker.
    So here comes my question:
This is the setup I am thinking about:
-Xbox 360 (playing a game with Dolby Digital 5. surround encoding.)
--Connection: digital optical audio cable (Toslink)

Will I be able to hear surround sound from the xbox game trough my analog speakers this way (When the PC is turned on offcourse.), or will i get (upmixed) stereo audio, or even worse: no sound at all?
I hope someone can answer this question,
    Greets,
    FORZA M

That's correct in your case (connecting to the expansion bay) the soundcard will decode the DolbyDigital and send it to the analog speakers.
For me it is veird that you want to us a whole PC to do that - energy consumption, heat, space occupied (you will need a separate monitor for PC and a big-screen TV for XBox 360).
Another solution would be an external decoder - like a digital receiver or Creative's DDTS-00: http://www.creative.com/products/pro...6&product=9468

  • Audigy 4 and Xbox 360 He

Hi. I recently purchased the Digital I/O Module so I could use Digital sound with my xbox. However, I am Having problems with the Dolby sound. Whenever the Xbox is on 5. Surround Mode the Console says?[img"]http://www.blackstarx.org/alarm/decoder.jpg">?But when I just leave it on stereo surround it works fine. The thing is I read the post above about the digital cables. I have the SPDIF Passthrough off and I am using the build in decoder.

    SoNic2367 wrote:
If you had read my answer that is several post above you would find out that ONLY Platinum cards will decode DolbyDigital from external sources - licensing fees are included in the audio bay price. The Digital I/O module will NOT add that capability to a regular soundcard (with no external bay).By the way, why don't you but the XBox games in the PC version and you will solve all the problems? I guess it is a mistery...
i did read your above post, and i am using the Audigy 2 Z platinum pro, so does that decode my dolby digital from my external input via optical? i get lousy sound and lag from there, and that totally ruins the whole experience.
what exactly do u mean by licensing fees are included in the audio bay price?
on the point on why i don't buy PC games instead of XBox, i guess u're totally not a gamer since u dun know the difference try giving me gears of war or enchant arms or even dead or ali've on PC, then maybe i'll stop using XBox..

  • Sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound probl

Ok So let me give you the specs on my computer first,?Windows xp home editionAbit IN9 32 MAX Mobo2 Gigs corsair xms ram2 8800ultra sli gpusLogitech?z-5300 SpeakersSound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound card2 Samsung 500 gig HD?I dont believe that my problem is the same as is in the crackling sound thread. So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I also dont want to have to go out and by the x-fi elite pro tomarrow unless I absolutely have to.Message Edited by TasteOfChaos on 0-0-20080:02 PM

I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 4 pro optical In probl

Hello, I recently purchase a audigy 4 pro, My current setup is 3 wires(green, black, orange) going from my Logitech X-530 5. speakers to the audigy 4 sound card, from there, the AD_Link and Ad_Link2(firewire) going to the Audigy's External I/O, now when i Plug in any toslink cable from the *Optical In* port to my game system(xbox, xbox 360, dvd player, ps2), there is no sound. but when i use the standard A/v cable(red/white) and plug it into the back of the external I/O(Line IN 3), the sound works. Everything else also seems to be working fine. any idea what could be the problem? also note, that i'm kinda new at this, so sorry if i dont fully understand your reply.

What seems to be a problem is the I/O box is powered on, but not connecting to the card. The power light is on, but the volume knob isn't doing anything and the extra inputs aren't recognized. I didn't touch any of the cables, and they're all secure so I have no idea what's going on.

  • Audigy Platinum Ex Windows 7 SPDIF IN not working

Audigy Platinum Ex Windows 7 SPDIF IN not working? I have an old Audigy Platinum Ex that has served me well, until now when I have a new Windows 7 x64 PC (RTM). SPDIF IN no longer works, though everything else does (including SPDIF OUT). I've tried the current and beta drivers for the card, and no difference.
In Windows Vista x64 I could use ASIO drivers with my M-Audio ProFire 60 while using the Audigy for PC audio. Most often this was for skype, which I would set to use SPDIF IN/OUT which I then connected to the ProFires SPDIF OUT/IN. Using the ProFire mixing tool, I could control which mics and levels went to the Audigy while not interfereing with the ASIO drivers recording the mics. The ProFire also recorded the SPDIF OUT from the Audigy to caputre the person on Skype to their own audio track. This is a podcast producer's heaven, and I miss it!
If it's a known issue (SPDIF IN / Win 7), I've had this card through 4 PC upgrades and it's served me well enough I don't mind buying new. The Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Elite Pro looks to be the current version of my Ex - are there any Windows 7 issues currently that would stop me from using it in the role above? I will miss the FireWire port, a shame they dropped that.

Well basically it is possible, and I've found this out. Apparently Dell released a driver or something that allows it to work, but then only if you install a 3rd party modified xp version of the creative suite. I don't remember where I found it, but it was through google... Using some term including x-fi, dts, and vista.... Can't seem to find it now. Anyway, it had a download for the whole creative suite that was modified from the xp version for Vista, however it was buggy as hell, caused driver issues and blue screens, and ended up causing me to have to reinstall Vista altogether again. In other words, it's possible, but I don't recommend it until it's officially supported... Don't know when this will be yet... *crosses fingers*
Luckily I've got a dual OS system with XP too, and I switch to that when I want to use my Xbox 360... However due to Microsoft also being terrible in that department... I now get entertainment off of its 3 red lights... (For those of you who don't know, 3 red lights = hardware error. Sending into microsoft for repair typically is a 2 month process... I'm still waiting on my prepaid shipping box to arri've and it's been 4 days... Will be a similar wait to get it to them, 4-6 weeks for them to actually repair, and another week or so to get it all shipped back). Although even when the console worked, my dsl modem sometimes cut out when playing on Xbox li've and dropped signals, reported errors, etc.
What is with the companies producing technology nowadays? I just want to play Gears in 5. on Xbox li've... *cries*Message Edited by Supercoolyo on 07-22-20070:54 AM

  • Optical inputs on Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

I'm considering purchasing the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and I have a question about the optical input functions on the external control box. I read that it can be used to capture music(i.e. from a guitar, etc) however I would be interested in using the optical input coming in from a stand alone DVD player or PlayStation 2. By doing this, would my speakers play the audio? In other words, will the optical inputs take the signal from an external device and process it into surround sound, AC3. I read that some other models will not, so thats why I'm asking.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I run my xbox and xbox 360 to the optical in with good results so im sure the out would give similar results.
So im gonna say yes, but im not sure.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro + Optical Input = No So

I have the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro along with a Klipsch Promedia 5. system and an Xbox 360.
I would like to connect my Xbox 360 into my OPTICAL IN port on the external hub from the sound card. However when I do connect it, I get absolutely no sound at all. I've tried messing with different settings, and even reverting everything to defaults and I can't get it working. I have the Xbox set to send sound through the optical port, so that's not the problem
I've read about this problem on a few forums and no one seems to know how to make it work.
If one of you tech support guys could PLEASE help me out with any suggestions I would appreciate it so much.
    Thanks,
    Jason

I have EXACTLY the same proble. There is not only no signal in, I cant hear anything monitored at all when using Cubase or in fact any other sound application. The only sound I can hear is when I plug my speakers/headphones straight into the back of the sound card. I checked my 'Digital Output Only' setting as previously suggested (it wasn't checked) - still no joy.
    Somebody please help....

  • Xbox 360 to Klipsch Promedia

Hi all, I have an Xbox 360 that I'd like to connect to my Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5. surround system. The Klipsch system is not digital however, and is currently connected through a Soundblaster Audigy 2 NX. Klipsch used to make a Promedia DD 5. Digital Decoder, but not anymore. Are there any similar products, products from Creative, or any other suggestions? Any help is much appreciated

If you mean you want to display the output of the Xbox on the iMac screen, there are several USB devices that can take a composite RCA or S-Video signal feed and display it on the iMac screen in a window or full-screen. I have this one.
    http://www.daystartechnology.com/AppleMac_Products/XLR8_Macintosh_Products/Mac_USB2_Video_Transfer_OSXPS.html
It does standard definition, like a regular (not HD) TV. It's meant to be used with video capture software, so there are other similar products, but you can use the software to just display the live feed.

  • SB Audigy 2 ZS and E-MU 1616M compatibility iss

Hello,?I just purchased an E-MU 66M because I am fed up with the second rate recording features of my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. However, I still want to?use my Audigy because my XBox 360 is plugged into the breakout box and I bought some new 7. surround speakers today too. However, on installing my E-MU 66M I've come across a massi've compatibility error. Every time I install the drivers for one of the products, it installs them for the other product too. This is incredibly annoying, as it renders both of them unusable. My 66M is currently trying to run on Audigy 2 drivers (not going to happen) and having two different audio interfaces using the same driver causes CTHelper to crash and nothing works properly. I'm assuming this is because they are both Creative drivers and somewhere something is getting confused. Is there any workaround for this? I'm ****ed if I'm not using either of them, they cost me over ?400 combined. They both appear in Device Manager but I can't figure out a way of preventing this driver overlap from happening. Has anyone found a workaround for this? I'm using Vista with a fresh install of Daniel_k's drivers. Please assist, I'm at my wits' end!

What is available right now besides the 'Audio Console' happiness, you'll find here:
Start > Control Panel > Sound > Playback
Start > Control Panel > Sound > Recording
Select your options & preferences & 'Set Default' after checking availability, functionality & properties for the devices etc... Pray.
