Audigy 2 Value - Little EAX probl

Hello,
i have a brand new A2 Value, but i have a little problems with it.
when i play any game with EAX3 or 4 the bachground effects like wind, echo of shooting, echo of footsteps are very weak.
All other sounds like gun shoot, loading weapons, footsteps, explosions are OK.
I have tested the card in UT2004 Colin Mcrae 04 and Soldier of Fortune 2.
Other problem with EAX is, when i play any MP3 or AudioCD Or whatever (music) and start EAX console and start any of enviropment effects the music sounds like i have turned off the eax.
It has an effect but it is very very weak.
about 3 months i have audigy ES and these effects az very stong ane clear, not like this on A2.
I don't know what is the problem.
I am using WinXP with SP2 , the latest drivers of Soundcard from Creative.com , and DirectX 9.0c.
Can enyone halp me? Is this , aproblem with software or just Audigy2 Value sounds like that?

For Unreal Tournament 2004, the EAX problem is known.
The volumes of the EAX effects are hardcoded I think.
When you install the game all the volumes are really
low in the configuration. If you don't touch them
EAX effects will be at a good level (hmmm... this is
relati've to the other sounds in the game).
If you do change these default volume settings, you
will barely hear a sound deep in the background, but
that's all. This is not a problem with the Audigy 2.

The game I am trying right now is World of Warcraft.

I have a problem with my Audigy 2 ZS where if I try to play a game with any EAX effect such as Environment, Adv. Equilizer or anything related to EAX it will disable all of my sound completely upon loading of the game.
Another weird thing is I can't open the Creative Graphic Equilizer during games either.
I get this error: The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit.
If I put No Effect for EAX it will work fine. IF I load up the Audio Console while the game is ALT-Tabbed, no presets appear in the Acti've Preset lists.
I need help ASAP, thanks.

Now I have noticed that CMSS3D is also disabled when loading games. This defeats the entire purpose of using this thing. No EAX, no CMSS3D in games that are suppose to support it, do I have a defecti've card or what?

Hi all,?It seems that CTHELPER.EXE is the culpret where this issue is concerned. In the 2.xx series of dri'ves for this card, this issue arose whereby you could not change attributes for audio effects. Terminating (or at least attempting to terminate) this process will allow you to change slider values without the dreaded 'NaN' and 'Inf' being displayed in place of actual values. If you still get the occasional 'NaN', try using the keyboard to move the slider. Would be interesting to see if this helps anyone. It certainly helped me!

I have the same problem. I had a Audigy Value and it has had 0 bands equalizer . I changed Audigy Value and got Audigy2 ZS.Value has had extra 3 bands?3Hz,62Hz and 6kHz ?from Audigy2Zs. Is this a software problem ? It's nonsense that value has wider frequency range ? I tried to copy eq files from the value eq cd , but no chance .

Audigy Value and Digital Out probl

I read the faq.
I have the Audigy Value card with the digital I/O mini-jack. I tried using a standard optical cable with an adapter mini-jack "cap" to pop on one end to plug into the sound card, and the other end into my digital in on my stereo. I still can't get any sound, is there some setting I am missing.
I pop in my Hercules sound card that has a normal type optical out and everything works fine without me messing with it, so I know it isn't the stereo input.

(I didn't try 5./7. but I think it should work) I just mixed the applications from old and new driver packages and tricked the set-up program to install the XP drivers instead. I've spent ages searching the forums and can find other people who have experienced the problem but have yet found a fix. They've also explained the problem better so I'll try and make this a little clearer also.

Audigy Value questi

I'm thinking of purchasing an Audigy Value card, but I'm concerned about the driver support.
Are the drivers on the disk the only drivers you can use? Are there newer drivers (2005.. ) that can be used?
And does it support EAX 2.0 ?
I've reached the point where my onboard audio just isn't good enough, only the Audigy Value and SB! Li've 24-bit are in my price range, what should I be looking for?
As I am in Australia I cannot use such sites as NewEgg and my selection is limited.

Does the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value use a chipset older than the Audigy 2 Value? As in, any EAX hardware support on it's
If not, then I won't be buying anything better than my onboard sound, and the Audigy Value is the only thing in my price range.

Help with Sound Blaster Audigy Value 24-bit..keeps crashing when connecting to the inter

pls help..every time i connect to the internet while playing mp3's or just any applications or programs that produces sound and even when streaming some clips through the internet, my computer restarts..any sound that is produced when i am online it will restart..but if i just surf the net without playing anything..it works fine...

Everything seems to be OK so it's propably the drivers for your modem that is causing the issue. Just try if updating them helps anything.
Also, you can turn the MPU-40 (onboard MIDI/Game port) if you dont need it.

SB Audigy Value CMSS Successfully Enabled in Vista, if you call it CMSS

I've been trying to enable CMSS (at least hear sound from all of the 4 speakers) for a long time and finally successed but in a very strange way.
Steps written below are spesific to my system (SB Audigy Value, Onboard Realtek ALC 850) but can? work similar way on others i guess. For SB Audigy Value 6 Feb. Vista drivers are installed. U can use old XP drivers as explained in the forum too.
I've been using my onboard audio device (realtek ac97) since I can't enable cmss on SB Audigy Value, so Realtek AC97 audio drivers were installed on my system. You can download Realtek AC97 audio drivers? from [url=ftp://202.65.94.22/pc/audio/623_Vista_APO.zip">ftp://202.65.94.22/pc/audio/623_Vista_APO.zip[/url]
Download and install it (first enable the device from bios if you haven't)
After installing the drivers,
-) Open "Playback Devices/Speakers(Realtek A'97 Audio)/Properties" window and open "Enhancements" tab.
2-)There's a "Speaker Fill" effect there. U can take sound from all speakers if u enable it on Realtek AC97 device. And let's import this to our SB Audigy Value device. I say "Import" because i noticed that?"Enhancements" tab is actually a set of registry entries which points to some features from Realtek device. So,
3-) Open registry editor. Go to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Render\
Under the Render key the playback devices are listed as some numbers and letters like,
{50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d}
4-) U have to find your own device (realtek speakers) , for instance my device is represented by {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d}.
(This is for Realtek ALC 850 model, may be different for other models?I guess)
5-) Under {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d} key you can see "FxProperties" Key. Rightclick on it and export to a file. Save it as RealtekCMSS.reg for instance.
6-) Then find your SB Audigy Value Speakers device. (ES/LS whatever...)
Mine is {5ecbbccc-eca-446-aa2-a7390cf094f6}.
7-) Rightclick on it and select "Permissions"
Go to Advanced/Owner, and change the owner to administrators.
(Don't forget to select "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects)
8-) On "Permissions for {5ecbbccc-eca-446-aa2-a7390cf094f6}" window select "Administrators"
and select "Full Control" to allow. Then click OK.
9-)Close registry editor and open RealtekCMSS.reg in notepad.
0-) Replace {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d}
????to {5ecbbccc-eca-446-aa2-a7390cf094f6} using replace function.
-)Save the file as SBAudigyCMSS.reg and execute it.
2-)Now go to
"Playback Devices/Speakers(SB Audigy)/Properties" and you'll see "Enhancements" tab.
3-)In "Enhancements" tab enable "Speaker Fill"
Open an mp3 and test your speakers. Other effects work too.
From now on you can disable your AC97 device from bios. But don't uninstall Realtek software.

The previous post is inaccurate:? CMSS includes many modes, which will work depending on the speaker configuration. This means that CMSS set?to ON on 5. speakers is not the same as CMSS on Headphones. The selection is done automatically, depending on your selected speaker configuration. For example CMSS on headphones uses HRTFs to produce the effect, while on multi-speaker systems it simply maps and pans the sound. From my experience, CMSS works?good on headphones, not only for games, but for music as well. It expands the soundfield, where on simple stereo and headphones you normally hear the sound inside your head. My opinion is, that CMSS sounds much better on headphones than on speaker systems.

i have installed the sb audigy value latest drivers july 9 2007?and it installed clean and then after a few restart it will detect again the standard?pci to pci bridge and sound devices... when i am using?xp this does not happenwhat is wrong with your drivers? i am installing the?drivers?again and again and same thing happen and my settings reverting always to 6 bit 48khz my card is 24 bit 96khz in the first install... and after a few restart?the setting for 24 bit and 96khz?will dissapear and the only available is 6 bit 48khz somtimes not working? kindly help me... plz... all my problem in windows vista 32 bit has been resolve this is the only one remaining...

Graphic drivers for the iMac is a regular question, and there are some tips and answers. I'd have skipped Vista, too much like beta and gone for 7, but you have it now....

Severe Jitter/Glitches with Audigy Value/SE in Windows 7 64bit

Im experiencing a severe sound jitter and random "clicks" in windows 7 when playing music and using the computer for browsing.
I didnt notice this problem before because i used to keep my computer idle while doing other stuff when playing music.
the sound plays as if it "slows down" or something when doing random activities on the computer

The sound distorts when listening music in youtube or other flash webpages, both in normal and in HQ settings.
I have tried almost everything. I think the drivers downoladed for Windows 7 works better.
Then the Autoupdate function downloaded some new drivers (version .0090 I think) and it screwed up the sound on the web.

SB Audigy Value card Conflict with Modem re-booting my

My PC using Intel D95GAV M/B, 3.2GHz with XpSP2. On-board sound ok. Recently installed SB Audigy Value card. It is working perfectly. But with that card I can't use any modem function, any time if I dial or connecting to Internet or Outlook my PC gets re-boots. I already disabled on-board audio. different PCI slot tried. Then I replaced the Audigy card. Replaced the Modem. Audigy Value card tried with another 3 PCs. all are facing the same problem.

Maybe you have installed all this stuff in wrong installations order. I have installed Win7 32 bit on friends Satellite A500 following this installations order:
-Win7
-chipset driver
-storage manager
-display driver
-sound driver
-modem driver
-supervisor utility
-infrared
-patches
-configfree
-VAP
-toshiba hardware setup
-HDMI control
-WLAN driver
Added Vista stuff:
-Toshiba assist - work properly
-Card reader - installed properly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works properly.
-Synaptics driver
Everything works perfectly including hardware setup. I don't know maybe you should install Win7 again following this installations order.
By the way: hardware setup was shown in control panel in WXP but since Vista not anymore. So I asked you this question because I know for sure it is not in control panel anymore.
Since Vista Toshiba packed all tools and utilities overview in Toshiba Assist.

Help on Audigy value soundc

I just bought the Audigy value soundcard, but when I installed it using the drivers provided in the CD. My windows volume control is displaying chinese characters instead of english, also the creative surround mixer display ? instead of the proper words(guess it cannot decode the chinese wordings).
