Audigy 2 & Windows Recording Mi

I hope this is something simple that I'm just missing.
I just upgraded my old soundblaster card to the Audigy 2. I always use Adobe Audition for sound recording, etc. With the old card, my windows recording mixer had about 9 different options, including the most important one, the record master. This is gone, and I only have 4 options with my new Audigy card. I installed the old soundblaster card in my other desktop, and the controls are not showing up there either. Just 4 basic ones. This is really annoying becasue I need the record master as an option! Help?

I would recommend danielk's last pack for the Audigy series. His final release was 3.6 and can be found here http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/SB-Audigy-Series-Support-Pack-3-6--09-2009/m-p/540934

  • FCPX,  problems in window/record audio/monitor/choose 'airplay'.

I had to record a voice over (audio by dropmenu windows/record) there are options for mic and monitor. By monitor one is 'airplay'.
I wanted to find out the purpose of this. You need a password. I tried several times (my standaard and only password for fcpX, iTunes, apple TV etc.) but that will not be accepted as the message say.
I wanted to quit at least but I had to try again several times to quit because the demand for a password comes back and the options in "record" to switch there does not appear.
I had to try several times before the options suddenly came back (the message disapeared too) to end this exercise.
    Three questions:
    1. what does the function airplay mean?
    2. what to do with the password-problem?
    3. could this all be a bug?
    Thanks!
    bruce

Airplay is the functionality that lets your mac or ios device play audio (and/or video) to an AppleTV, like it were another audio device. If you have an AppleTV, or Airport Express, you can select that as an audio output device, much like you can select your headphones or other audio output.
This is not a good option for monitoring audio in an application such as FCP X, as there will inevitably be a lag due to buffering, at least.

  • Missing audio slider in "window" record audio (fcpX10.0.6)

After updating to the new version the audio slider in menu "window, record audio" is not there.
    Is this a bug?
(I posted this question elswhere before but i cant find it anymore)
    Thanks.

this is what i mean: i miss the import decice gain slider:
somtimes by starting this window the slider jumps very quickly from  the right to the left and remains there... A certain amount of level is still there so i can use it by loud speaking near to the mic...

  • Mixing Wave and MIDI output for recording - Windows Record Control limitatio

I am using a SoundBlaster Li've! card with Magix MIDI Studio 2005. When I create a score that combines MIDI tracks with Wave tracks, I cannot record the combined audio stream using an internal recording program like Magix Audio Studio. It all sounds fine over the speakers, but I cannot record what I am hearing.
MIDI Studio and Audio Studio are not aware of each other directly - they appear to use the Windows Play Control and Record Control to set which channel should be used to provide audio to the recording program.
Unfortunately, Windows Record Control does not allow more than one channel to be used as the recording source. If I select MIDI, then Wave is deselected. If I select Wave then MIDI is deselected. I can record each separately, but I cannot sync them, since they don't send SMPTE or anything other than audio across the channel.
Is this reflecting a limitation of the sound card or is there some utility I need to use to override the Windows Record Control? Or is there some program or some hardware feature I need to make sure that the audio output from MIDI and from the Wave source are mixed down to the Wave recording channel?
I have already seen some recommendations to patch the audio out of the sound card to the line in. I am not interested in a solution such as this, since two conversions between digital and analog are bound to degrade the result significantly.
If I need a higher level sound, that's fine, just point me to the right one.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Recording Prob

I recently re-installed my audigy, and for some reason I cannot get any sound when I plug my guitar into the Line-In on the front. I check the recording/playback setting, and everything seems to be ok. I'm wondering if it might be a problem with the hardware. Any thoughts?

    Dee,
If the card came supplied with the PC, then you may need to contact Dell to get specific drivers or applications for it.
Is the card working correctly now? Is it listed in Device Manager, with no error messages? What did you use to reinstall, was it a CD, or a driver? If it was just a basic driver pack, then it's likely that doesn't include any extra applications.

  • Audigy 2NX Recording Issu

I am using the Audigy 2NX Sound Blaster to record voice recordings used for a training demo. I have tried recording and saving as both wav and Mp3. For some reason the recording sounds like there is small echo. To be more specific, it sounds like a PA system used in a huge auditorium, where there sounds to be a lot of 'background' noise. I have tried recording in different rooms, especially where there is little or no air movement, but no luck. Is there anything else I can try with the system? Thanks!

Is recording source set to "What U Hear"? Don't use this but set it by the source.
Also, check that EAX effects and CMSS are disabled (if NX has these features available).
If you can, switch to proper recording software which supports ASIO or Kernel Streaming device driver mode (IIRC, NX supports ASIO and if not then Asio4All is the way to go). Especially ASIO is good for recording work. There are plenty of these even as freeware.

Trying to record audio voiceover.  Go to Window, Select Record Audio, see the record window and FCP quits in about 2 seconds.  Can't get started??

I think you've got the right driver selected, otherwise it wouln't work at all. The single most obvious thing to ask you though (I'm sorry if this is too basic) is where you have the pan controls set to? To get each mic to record on a single channel, you'd have to have one panned hard left and the other panned hard right. If you leave them both panned dead centre, that's exactly what you get - both mics on both channels.

  • SB Audigy LS recording probl

Hi, using Sound Forge and Cubase softwares for music creation, I've got two problems I couldn't solve:
First, when I use Sound Forge and try to record sounds via the option "what you hear" of my sound card (well, it's "ce que vous entendez" in French, anyway) in order to record sounds going through Windows directly, like passages of movies, etc, I have a very annoying echo I can't remove. I checked all parameters, all audio effects are disabled. The volume switches of my sound card are all high so I thought about interference, but even when I lower them, including the record switch, it's just the same thing, I've got this echo, only during the recording, 'coz once I stop recording, sound becomes normal again. And obviously, when I listen to what I've just recorded, I have this echo.
Secondly, when I use Sound Forge or Cubase and I want to record voice via microphone, the volume is very low, even though the mic volume switch of my sound card is the highest, I can shout in the mic, the dB does not reach the yellow level.
All used to work well, I didn't change my audio configuration, I even installed the most recent driver on this website, but nothing changed. A friend told me it might be because I've got many softwares installed on my hard dri've (I got a partition: software HD, 3.5 Go available on 30 Go; data HD, 5.5 Go available on 30 Go). I still got some place left, so I doubt it might be this.
Does anyone have a clue? I'll be waiting for your kind help!!

I stumbled across this post while searching for a fix for my SoundBlaster Li've!. Basically everything worked fine under Win98. I upgraded to WinXP and the card appeared to be installed with no conflicts but I had no sound and I couldn't set a default playback device in "Sounds and Devices" because they were greyed out. I ran the Creative Diagnostic test and the Hardware test passed but all the driver tests failed.
I fixed this problem by going to
    Start > Control Panel > Administrati've Services > Services
Locate "Windows Audio" and make sure the service is started. If the service is not started right-click and select properties. Change the startup type to automatic and click start.
Hope this helps anyone who stumbles across this post while looking for fixes.

  • Audigy SE - recording sourc

    Afternoon all,
Just a quick question: if I buy an Audigy SE card, will I be able to record from the WAV sound source? What I mean is, if I'm streaming from a radio show over the net, on my PC with an X-FI Elite pro, I can record bits as .wav's or whatever. In a different PC with only onboard sound, there is no option to record from anything other than the MIC, or Line-in port.
With the Audigy SE, will I be able to record like that?
    Thanks for your help,
    Dave

Hello i just update my Audigy 2 drivers to 6.0..36 dated on 2008.06.27. i using autoupdate software - and now i can`t use microphone :-( I can`t select and i don`t know why :-( Can anyone help me?

My creative surround mixer also does not show the microphone for play control by default, but I can set?the?rightmost control to microphone by clicking on the icon above it (toggles auxiliary/Tad in/microphone; the second from right control toggels Auxiliary/Tad In/CD digital.
For recording microphone, clicking on the rec icon does allow me to select microphone. You could try using Windows recording volume control yo select it, it should then?show up correctly in Creative surround mixer in the Rec column.
I'm usijng the Daniel k drivers and software, though.
I had to shorten the title (limit 00 characters) to post reply;?hope you don't mind :-)

  • Audigy 4/how do i preview track 1 while recording track 2. tha

good day, i just bought a audigy 4 (not the special edidtion with remote, etc..
my problem is when i open my production software (digital recorder--------
say i record the drums on track in multi rack view. when i unarm track and arm track 2 to say record a piano. Then when i press play to hear track 2 it plays the drums i recorded on track . the drums on track record on all my tracks. i had this problem with the soundcard that came with my pc, i think somebody said something about it was pretty cheap and didn't come with preview or something...........anyways i just bought a Soundblaster Audigy 4, well it's far from top of the line but it's a big upgrade for me, any know how i can fix this problem of track being recorded on all the tracks. It's important for me to be able to listen to previously recorded tracks while playing a new .
so does anybody know how and if Audigy 4 can do this? this is essential, i bought this soundcard for i could go from my hardware digital recorder to software digital recorder. if there's a way can someone give me exact instructions on how to do this.
'm using audigy 4 soundcard, 2.53 ghz intel celron, 40gb hard dri've, 52 mb of ram, and the recorders i'm using are cakewalk guitar pro and adobe audition. thanks

Just stop using "What U Hear" as a recording source. If you're using ASIO, the ASIO Mix L works like "What U Hear".
As recording source, use microphone for microphone and line-in (or AnalogMix()) for line-in sources.
For monitoring, there is a checkbox behind a tiny red plus sign in CT Surround Mixer (or behind advanced button in windows audio I/O controls) you may need to set (this setting and recording source selection from ct surround mixre/windows recording controls has no affect when you're using ASIO device driver mode in software).

  • Recording problems with Audigy

In comparison with an integrated card i had (Soundmax) and one i purchased (Sb 6) but change it because of the lack of soundfont technology, the Audigy SE records (In this case, guitars through a mic) with a better quality, but the volume of the recordings are almost like i havent record anything at all, having the "Mic boost" option selected and the volume of recording all the way up. I have to crank the amp more than i usually do when recording to be able to hear anything, but it also sounds some "ssssss" in the recording.
The recorder that came with the Audigy have an option to clean the audio from this "SSSS" but when properly cleaned it sounds very rare and unnatural, and since i use cakewalk for multitrack recording it is useless for me.

This is probably the same driver bug I have.
Windows 7 64-Bit with 8 GB of ram.
I have contacted support about it.
So far I have just recieved the typical form letters (no support at all) from them.
Turn on listening and pay with the sampling rate for a bit.
Eventually you will get it clear by switch from on rate to another.
Annoying as all get out, but that is about all you can do until there is a driver fix.

  • Cubase/Audigy 2 prob: How do I turn on "Record What U Hear" function?

I'm not sure if I phrased that question right but apparently someone is telling me that I need to turn that function on in my Audigy 2 to get my wavetable synths to transfer to WAV files when I export in Cubase.
I looked in the mixer and saw the volume control but is that all I need to do? Is there something else?
    Thanks!

Does this need to be done in this way on Cubase?
You can turn "What U Hear" ON on
    - Creative Surround Mixer --> select .rec source by pressing the icon above the recording level slider
    and on
Windows Record Controls (volume) --> by slecting (check box below level slider) the "What U Hear" -channel
NOTE: When you are using native ASIO or WDM/KS drivers --> recording controls are bypassed (i.e. recording source selection on surround mixer doesn't affect).
You may need to switch the drivermode 1st to something other (WDM, MME, DS, maybe ASIO multimedia) to get WUH working (never tried this by myself). On Windows registry, there is "SB AUDIGY ASIO WUH [xxxx]" driver listed (I assume th WUH means "What U Hear"), but I have not seen it listed in any application I've tried/using.

  • No recording in Windows

    Win 7 32-bit
Software Update was run on Mac before installing Win 7 and it was run within Win 7 after installing.
No signal registers in the Windows recording utility or in any application capable of recording audio. I have tried using the iMac's mic input jack, sending a line level signal with a standard stereo male mini-jack plugged in. I have also tried using my firewire audio interface with no luck. The same configuration records fine in Mac OS X. Please tell me there is a fix?

After installing Windows 7 did you install Windows drivers by inserting the Snow Leopard Install disk? Did Software Update install Boot Camp Software Update 3.1?
