Audigy 2, Windows XP, Wave volume always resetting to ze

Hi there, I have original Audigy 2 with WinXP. I just built a new box and installed WinXP fresh and the Audigy 2 drivers. Everytime I reboot, it resets the Wave volume and only the Wave volume to zero! Every time! It's driving me nuts, and I don't know what is wrong. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I had the same problem too. In my case it was a software conflict. I had the asus probe utility in my autostart and it reseted the wave volume on start up for unknown reasons. Try changeing your volume and, some programs and check wether the volume changed.

It's 13/30 actually and yes this is normal behaviour. It is also a core OS function so if you feel you must address this do so with Microsoft. You can contact them here.

SB Live wave volume keeps dropp

I have Soundblaster Li've 24-bit card installed in a machine running Windows
XP-Pro SP2. For the most part the card works great and the audio sounds fine.
The one annoying problem I have is that after a while the sound volume seems
to drop very low. When this happens I go into the Creative Volume Control and
I'll notice that the Wave Volume is sitting around 20% so I'll pull it up to about 70%
and the volume sounds fine again...for about 30-40 minutes.
When I notice that the volume has dropped I go back to the Creative Volume
Control and, sure enough, the Wave Volume has re-set itself back to 20%.
Is there anything I can do to get the Wave Volume to stay where I set it's

YES!..exact same problem. i can find NO other programs open or that seem to be interfering with my mic. i even tried playing CS with the surround mixer window left open so that nothing could change it back to MIDI and it still didnt work in CS.
exact same problem with audigy 2 zx platinum pro.
when i try to change the rec (RED) setting under the sound mixer to mic/line ...it will automatically change it back to MIDI, i.e., when i reopen the sound mixer the red/rec slider is always back to MIDI.
I can hear myself on the mic..windows (the test hardware option under control panel-sound devices) says mic works fine but no sound on counterstrike-source or windows sound recorder.....this is killin me

ITunes and WAV volume differences

How do I solve the following intolerable situation:
I have Windows XP and the latest version of iTunes. I have been enduring a problem where my ear drums are pierced by a bloody windows message window wav file playing at extreme volume levels when my iTunes is playing at a comfortable level. I have tried disassociating sounds with windows message events, but it doesn't always work, as some programs generate their own wav associated message windows. I have tried also adjusting various volume controls, but they seem to work together to reduce the iTunes volume and wav volume at the same levels rather than indenpendently. Thus, I get a wav file playing that is ok, but iTunes is too low to hear. Make iTunes so I can hear it, and my speakers are on the verge of being blown when a message window from some app pops up.
Any suggestions?

There is 2 volume controls associated with playing back music in iTunes.
There is your system wide volume, which can usually be controlled from an icon in your task bar, and iTunes has its own volume.
If you turn down the system volume, and turn up the volume in iTunes it should be possible to balance things for you.

Mouse tracking always reset to a specific area point

Hi,
My iMac mouse always reset to a specific area of my screen every time I move it.
I thought that it was the magic mouse tracking that was bugging but it's not : the same problem occurs when I'm using the ScreenSharing app with my computer on sharing mode.
I tried to restart the computer, empty the PRAM after unplugging the computer but nothing worked..
Here's the specs of my iMac :
iMac 27-inch, Late 2012
3,4 GHz Intel Core i7
32 Gb of ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 Mb
OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

Soundblaster Audigy and Windows

I've just installed Windows XP on a new hard dri've. I'm running an older computer with a 700mhz Celeron processor with an Audigy soundcard. On Windows ME it worked fine, but since upgrading, sounds work fine, but when I try playing music of any kind it locks my machine up so bad I have to shut it down manually. I've tried reinstalling Windows and the soundcard drivers, and nothing works. Is there a known issue with the Audigy and Windows XP?
I'm greatful for anything you can tell me, I'm at a loss.

Nokia 928 GDR2 volume keeps resetting

The volume will reset from 19 down to 13 which is enough to get me to miss phone calls on occasion. Is there a way to get the default level to stay at 19?

The volume always starts at maximum

whenever I start any application which requires audio such as games,youtube,music etc..the volume always starts with maximum..I have to reduce the volume everytime.....it really annoying especially when headphone is used..how can i avoid this...

i tried that..but not working....the volume still starts at maximum...Even when i starst a youtube video at 30% volume and forward the video a little bit the volume goes to mmaximum...any application when i opeen violume starts at maximum...when forward it or start again the volume goes to maximum...

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest is to quit the Mac App Store application. Then go to the Apple - My Apple ID website and click on "Manage your Apple ID" to confirm your settings. If you can't remember your password, you can reset it from this website.
The next thing I would try is to open your iTunes application, and on the menu bar, click on Store > View Account. Make sure your billing information and shipping details are correct. (You may be requested to re-enter your credit card security code, then be sure to click Done).
Finally, restart your computer and launch the Mac App Store and try your purchase again.

Thanks for getting back. I know my answers seem too obvious at times, but never leave out the simple ones just in case.
So lets look at two things: Keyboard Shortcuts and System Preferences.
Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts opens a dialog box. Press your Option key, and the Cancel button turns into a Reset button to get shortcuts back to defaults. Clicking on Reset may fix it.
The second is Preference resets. Hold down cmd-opt-shift and start Photoshop. It will ask if you wish to delete the settings file. Answering "Yes" many times clears up the problem.

When I'm configuring custom contract types in RE-FX the contract reference field always resets to 'contract has no objects' when I save it, no matter what value I enter such as 'objects are leased in'.

What model PowerBook? The internal PRAM battery has discharged and is not recharging. You'll need to replace the battery. This site has instructions. http://www.ifixit.com/Browse/PowerBook
The PRAM battery is not easy to change on some PB G3 models. I changed the battery on a Wallstreet model. Had to totally disassemble to do it. Bought the replacement battery on eBay.
