Audigy 2 ZS 5.1 speaker prob

I just reformatted my pc a couple hours ago and I installed by sound card with the newest drivers from the creative site and I have a problem. I get no sound from my speakers except the front left and right. I've tried fixing this by going through every tutorial and faq I could find I've been at this for about 4 hours now, and I've got nothing to show for it. I tried reinstalling with my drivers from the cd that came with the card, and even with some drivers I downloaded last year, nothing works. Everything is hooked up right because earlier today before my format everything worked great and I havn't changed anything. Any ideas?

mmcc,
Have you try turning on CMSS? Any other hardware installed? Eg,webcam?

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS - Vista - speaker calibration etc

    Hi,
I've searched but I can't find an obvious answer to what I suspect is a common question.
I've got an Audigy 2 ZS Pro which I've just installed using the drivers from the site. It's working ok but there is no applciation for set up of the speakers in a room - as there was in the original CD that I used with XP.
Can anyone help? Or am I just imagining that a utility did exist when I last installed this on an XP machine?
    Thanks

JRe: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs0 I'm afriad that the CMSS3D option did not work? ? I still cannot get any speakers to play out of the rear of the soundcard.
As I said before, the goal is to try to get sound to play out of both the headset and the speakers attached to the rear of the soundcard simuntaneously.
The headset is plugged into one of those devices in the front that is in a 5 & /4" bay that has the individual knobs for adjusting volume for the headset and outbound levels for the microphone.
The speakers are plugged into the back of the soundcard and do not play any sound in any of the sockets, starting from the firewire port and counting 3 over.
Any suggestions? I? thought it might have something to do with the setting of the speakers from control panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices -> Advanced and picking the right choice there. No luck however. Same for the Creative Speaker Settings as well.
I'm at wits end and I'd be very thankful to whoever can resolve this for me. =)

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs

FSoundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Speaker issues not covered by FAQs? ?
    Greetings..
Running into a bit of a issue here I can't seem to fix. I've gone through the troubleshooting guides and FAQs already and they aren't resolving the issue.
My normal setup is a couple of desktop speakers plugged to the rear of the card through the standard ports (non-digital) and a headset with mic plugged to the device in front that includes volume controls for both mic and speakers.
I've just did a complete reinstall of Windows XP (32 bit) including everything up through SP3 and a reinstall of the drivers and associated software applications for the card as well.
The problem I am having is that I can no longer make the rear speakers (desktop speakers) play when plugged in. The 2 headset speakers still play just fine that are plugged in the front however.
What should I do to resolve this issue so that I can have both the desktop speakers and headset speakers both playing? I'm fairly sure I'm just missing a setting somewhere but for the life of me I can't figure where to fix this.
    Thank you,

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Remote prob

I have had this problem ever since I bought the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum.
My creative remote works fine but the<!--StartFragment --> External I/O Module accepts any sigal from any of my other remote controls. So if I want to change anything else in the room like the tvchannel or increas volume on the amplifier, the audigy thinks that i want to change someting like mute och start mediasource player.
At first i thought this was normal but now I cant find anyone else with the same problem.
Everything works fine except for the remote problem. Is this enough to get a new Audigy 2 ZS Platinum?

  • Audigy 2 ZS + Creative T7900 7.1 Centre Speaker Prob

I've just installed an Audigy 2 ZS sound card and Inspire T7900 speaker system. When setting up the speakers I noticed that the centre speaker was not working, looking into the problem futher the speaker is working but the volume level for it is SO VERY LOW. I've tried lowering the volume levels of the rest of the speakers to try and balance it out, but that doesn't help much.
    Can anyone help?
P.S. I'm using Windows XP SP2 & the latest drivers for the sound card.

  • Audigy 4 digital i/o prob

Here's my problem. I have an xbox with a coaxial digital output. I've attached a /8 inch adapter to that, and am trying to attach it to the audigy 4's digital i/o so I can have the soundcard decode the spdif signal to my 5./7. speaker setup. I theorized that since the i/o board that Creative sells attaches itself to the soundcard via a /8 inch plug, that I should be able to do the same without the need to spend for the extra attachment.
When I do this however, I hear noise, which sounds a lot like the raw spdif signal, before it's processed.
Any suggestions?Message Edited by elric300 on 2-9-200602:22 PM

Creatieve Audio Console, istalled w/ driver update (least came w/ two or three latest updates).
If you don't have this application then, search your hard disk after ctpanel.exe and use it.
Look settings for S/PDIF I/O and Bit-Accurate features. In CTPanel those maybe differently named options.

  • Audigy 4 Pro on Vista Prob

hey guys, I'm new to this message board but have been a supporter of creative for quite a few years now, but anyways I have a problem hopefully a few of you can figure out for me as I'm currently stumped.
I have the Soundblaster Audigy 4 Pro sound card and have had Vista installed since it came out, I had the latest Creative driver's installed and it worked great, about a month ago when Microsoft released the SP beta for the public I installed it and that's where my problems started, the driver's are apparently incompatible with SP and I could only get 2. sound out of my speakers and the audio console looked a little screwed up, for instance the speaker configuration drop down box had nothing in it and the cmss looked screwed up, anyway I left it alone up until yesterday when I wanted my 7. surround back, I decided to uninstall SP and revert back to normal Windows, the drivers' were still screwed up so I reinstalled them but no luck, I found Daniel K's latest driver's here and uninstalled everything Creative and installed the driver's fresh but it still didn't work.
I have cleaned out the registry and uninstalled everything Creative like I said, tried installing a few different driver's but nothing seems to work. There is nothing in the drop down box under speaker selection and the cmss and eax tabs doesn't look quite right either, I can't synchronize with the windows control panel wither cuz the box is missing, I am out of options and don't really want to reinstall Vista, like I said before I installed the SP beta for the public it worked fine but after that it hasn't, would it be a good idea to maybe try and get the released version that's leaked or is there another set of driver's that I haven't tried that might work Also I'm using the 32-bit Vista but can upgrade to 64-bit but I'm not sure if that will make a difference, if anyone can help me, please do! I'll try to respond to any questions you guys may have, thanks in advance.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy with 5.1 Speakers prob

I have 5. speakers with a sound blaster audigy sound card. I've installed all the drivers and additional programs but it looks like my 2 rear speakers are not working. I thought maybe it was some kind of speaker problem but when i switched the 2 rear with the 2 front then the rear worked but front didn't. In the surround mixer i tested the 5. and here are the results:
    - Front Left (Sound: OK, Speaker: OK)
    - Center (Sound: NO SOUND)
    - Front Right (Sound: OK, Speaker: OK)
    - Rear Left (Sound: OK, Speaker: NO - The sound comes from the center speaker)
    - Rear Right (Sound NO - It sounds very strange... bearly you can understand the words, Speaker: NO - The sound comes from the center speaker)
The wired are set correctly i checked it and I dont know what it might be wrong. Drivers are ok and everything are installed. Help please.

"I thought maybe it was some kind of speaker problem but when i switched the 2 rear with the 2 front then the rear worked but front didn't."
Does this not indicate two of the speakers are not physically working? Or have a mis-interpreted?

  • Audigy 2ZS 5.1 speaker settings won't h

I've had a problem numerous times. It involves my Audigy 2ZS (Creative) sound card. What happens is that I'll install the most recent software update (driver and Audio Console) for the card and go through the process of making sure the Creative Audio Console recognizes my card as a 5. speaker system (which it is [Creative]). I also make sure that the box is checked to synchronize with the Control Panel in Windows XP. I then make sure Control Panel is set to 5. also. Almost without fail, within a relati'vely short period of time (day/days), the Creative Audio Console has lost the setting and either has Desktop Stereo or nothing as an option that I can chose from as far as a speaker configuration is concerned. I hope that someone of you forum people can lead me in the right direction. Thanks.
    Walter
p.s. one other quickie. Should I get 5 speaker separation on all of my audio output or should I only expect it to get it on PC games?

I'm betting it's your antivirus. Many antivirus programs block registry changes, when when you change the speaker settings, it changes them in the registry. You might check into disabling that and see if it makes a difference.
As for when to expect 5. output, generally when you play something that is 5., you'll get 5. output. Most music for instance is stereo (2.0) so that's what you get when you play it. I suggest turning on "CMSS-3d" which will upmix stereo to 5. for you.
    Enjoy!

  • X-FI - 4.1 Rear Speaker Prob

I've just installed the X-FI platinum, and have a 4. setup. After hooking things up appropriately, I run the THX Setup Console, and find that the front left and right speakers are hooked up properly (FL comes out of FL, FR comes out of FR), but the rears are setup in MONO. By this, I mean when I test either the RR or RL, the tone will come out of both rear speakers. I know the speakers are hooked up correctly, as I have switched the plugs in the back and had the FR, FL sounds come out properly from the rear speakers. Does anybody know a solution to this problem?
    Thanks.
    -snap-

I'm beginning to wonder if Creative has any idea what they are doing. No tech suport doc's regarding obviously widespread problems just like this. You can't advertise a card as 5. that when you ask for a report of the RR or LF speaker you hear it in more than one speaker!? Thats false advertising. I've been battling this useless X-Fi card for a year. I've even had there tech support on the phone. They're tech's are clueless. I guess this is what you get when you start parcing out your support to foreign countries with a generic script. On top of having the same problem, buying a second X-Fi "Gamer" card to replace what I thought was a defecti've X-Fi "ExtremeMusic" card (just to find out that it's not defecti've cards its defecti've advertising and useless support), this amazing new X-Fi card that supposed to be so cool, can't even past a hardware buffering test in dxdiag... The same test that there previous line "Audigy" worked perfectly with.
Good luck finding someone with a solution.

  • Audigy 2 ZS! Major Prob

My Audigy 2 ZS no longer will make any window noises, when I try and openiTunes/WMP it says an error with audo config or hardware, when I open up ventrilo(Microphone Chat pgm) it wont make noises such as the youre now in the blah blah channel yet I hear chat and people can hear me speaking! but when i goto Setup it says no hardware mixer and when i try to open Creative Sourround SOund mixer software w/e thing it says your device cant be detected.... So i've pulled it out and put it back in PCI slot, re installed Software/drivers and its still doing it, please help me out if you know what youre talking about thanks.!

You could try this. Remove the sound card from the computer PCI slot and boot up the computer. Let Windows finish loading and register that there's no sound card and then have it shutdown. Slot back the sound card to the same PCI slot and boot the computer.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Prob

Recently I've purchased the Creative Power Pack Pro 7., it included the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Creative GigaWorks 7. S750
<SPAN class=textbluebold>speakers, and <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard. I've installed my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card and setup my Sound Blaster GigaWorks S750 speakers but so far after many attempts haven't gotten them to work. I've tried all updates off the Creative site and gone through the cards settings. For some reason in the speaker settings it only lists Headphones, 2., 4. and 5. speaker settings, leaving out 7.. I've checked all plugins and hookups, and am stuck for now. I have a brand new Sony Vaio computer, so i know that my computer is not the problem. I read through all the forms and I was only able to find one other question like mine, one person answered saying that the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro is not compatible with 7. speakers. I have no clue why Creative would sell the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and GigaWorks S750 7. speakers if they are not compatible with each other. Someone please help me. Thanks.

  • Audigy 2 ZS popping noise prob

    My system:
BFG Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS OC AGP
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
    AMD Athlon 64
    2.20 GHz
    GB of RAM
    ECS Elitegroup 755-A2
I've been getting a problem with these popping noises. All of my drivers / BIOS for everything are all up to date, my speakers are fine, I checked the cords to my speakers (they are un-tangled, and what not), and my speaks are directly connected to the back of my computer (to the sound card). The thing with the popping noises I get, it doesn't happen randomly, it happens in certain parts of music (games, MP3s, WAVs) parts of sound effects in SOME games, and when I do certain things that involve sound. Let's say I'm playing a MP3, when I fast forward or rewind (or whatever it is when you move the tab that moves to show how far into the song you are), it'll pop right as it changes. When I'm adjusting the in-game volume in World of Warcraft, it'll pop every time I raise the volume up or down. It does the popping non stop in Battlefield 942. Whenever I minimize or maximize my game's window, it'll pop once, or twice. Back when I had an ATi Radeon 9800 XT, whenever it VPU'd recovered, it would pop a few times. At times when a sound finishes playing (a sound that doesn't fade away before it ends, it just simply stops without fading away), it'll pop right when it ends. I had the same problem with my last sound card (Sound Blaster Li've) and the last speakers I had, I upgraded my sound card and speakers now, and it still does it.

Unfortunately, there is little you can do. This is a problem nati've to Soundblaster cards since the original Audigy (some people claim it arri'ved with the Li've!). Search in this forum for SCP (snap crackle pop), and you will find hundreds of topics on the problem. There is no real answer, although the best I could do to get rid of it was to dump the Creative Labs drivers, and install the KX project drivers instead.
You can find them here :
    http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=
Other than that, there are dozens of things to try which some people have claimed have worked, but none of them fixed the same problem on my system. If you feel like trying, just search either for "crackling" in this forum, or "SCP". You will find suggestions like moving your Audigy to a different PCI slot, reducing soundboard hardware acceleration, reducing vidcard acceleration, changing PCI Latency settings, etc. etc. etc. Unfortunately those suggestions are all merely bandaids. The real solution must come from Creative Labs.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Rear Speaker Probl

? Im positi've I have my speakers hooked up right but whenever im playing a game, Team Fortress 2 for example, when im facing the action I can hear everything fine, but when I turn around I hear no sound. Also the I tested my speakers on the Counter Strike Source speaker test thing and I failed to hear any audio from my center and rear speakers, my front speakers worked fine. I have the Creative audio console and windows control panel set to 5. surrond sound. I am also using the latest drivers. I tried the new beta drivers but I hear no sound when using those. By the way im using windows xp professional 32 bit. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?

    D3vL,
Yes that's normal for stereo stuff since they only have 2 channel without CMSS. It's just that Li've and Audigy 2 ZS is built a little differently.
With CMSS2, the sound effect on center and rear speaker maybe a little soft but you should have sound output also. Try adjusting the Stereo Focus slider and see if it makes any different. Since you are using the soundcard upmix feature, turn off the upmix feature(LED off) of the S750 on the control pod.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Center Speaker Upmix Probl

I have an Audigy 2 ZS with an analog 5. speaker setup. I'm not getting a good Pro Logic/CMSS 3D/EAX upmix effect from the Audigy decoder for my stereo MP3's. The center channel is bearly audible. Voices are split over the L/R channels like normal stereo. I turned down the volume for the L/R speakers to listen to the center, but all that comes out is a faint echo effect. The sub and the rear channels work OK. It does this playing MP3s with the Creative Media player and Windows Media Player.
I then went and installed a separate media player from a codec pack (after I gave up on messing with CMSS/EAX settings) and this different player plays my stereo MP3's with perfect upmix effect. Voices go to the center channel, reverb/echo goes to the rear channels, instruments go to L/R channels, and sub kicks in low freqs. Just like prologic should.
How can I get my Creative Audigy decoder to upmix voices to the center channel like the codec pack one? I want to get this to work since the good upmix program only works within its own player. I fear I'm not getting the best playback in my games because of this.

Never mind about my previous post. Found the answer on another forum. CMSS does not upmix like ProLogic. All it does is put echoes/reverb in the other speakers besides L/R (pretty worthless if you ask me).
To get real ProLogic type upmix, all I did was disable CMSS altogether. Then I installed DTS NEO 6 and enabled it in Cinema mode. All my music was then upmixed just like ProLogic. Voices to the center speaker, instruments to L/R, echoes to the rear channels, and bass signals to the subwoofer.
Lesson learned: Do not look for answers on manufacturer forums. These are just gripe pages. Hope this helps somebody with the same problem though.
