Audigy 2 ZS can't be detected..

Hi
I'm sure that this has been asked a million times already but despite searching this forum I haven't found an answer that works.
My brand new ZS isn't being picked up by XP. So when I try to install the drivers, I get the famous 'can't detect hardware' message.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
If I try to browse to the file manually via Hardware Manager which .inf file should I pick from the drivers folder?

Nope, Win XP can't see a thing. I've contacted Creative and they suggested the following which I will try tonight. I'm not holding my breathe as I'm sure I have tried 90% of this....
Please ensure that the soundcard is being detected correctly by the
computer in Device Manager:
Load device manager -> Sound, Video and game controllers
Check the listing for the sound device (It may be detected as a unknown
card or card with a yellow "!" or "?" mark).
In the control panel, in the sound and audio devices, under the audio
tab, what is the default playback device shown? Any other choices?
I recommend you to ensure the following for the audio installation and
test:
- The card is the only card installed other than the Graphics card.
- The card is at least one empty slot away from the Graphics card.
- Place the soundcard away from all the others.
- That the card is seated properly in the PCI slot.
- Move the PC's internal wires away from the soundcard.
- That the on-board sound on your motherboard is disabled through the
BIOS. This can be done by referring to the user's guide of your
motherboard.
- Ensure that there is no IRQ conflict

for more information.
- That the on-board gameport is disabled through the BIOS.
- That your motherboard BIOS is up-to-date.
- That the operating system is up-to-date with the latest service packs
and patches.
-Reinstalling the drivers from the installation CD and download the
latest update of the soundcard from http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/
Do diable all background applications and your antivirus program before
installing the drivers.
Disable all background applications using MSCONFIG:
a. Click START -> RUN -> type MSCONFIG and click OK
b. Select SELECTIVE STARTUP and uncheck STARTUP GROUP
c. Apply the changes and reboot the computer when prompted
If the problem persists, kindly try installing the soundcard on another
system to check if it could be detected.

    I have a Time capsule (last generation) and an Airport Express. TIme capsule was set up a few months ago and working fine. Today I tried to Add the Airport express to the network to use it in another room. Everything semed to work OK and I got the message that the system is added successfully and waiting for AExpress to start. It took for ever so I opened the AIrport utility window again and try to re do i. I am not sure what I did wrong I can no longer detect either of my device with Airport utility to set up a secure network. MY Internet connection is fine and I can connect using the AIrport to other networks that Airport detects in the area fine also. I just don´t see the net work I configured or the devices. I sure would like to know how it got messed up and how to get out of this. I have tried unplugging and restating the time capsule etc as they suggest in Apple manuel. But I have not tried resetting the time capsule. Would this erase the back ups it already has? Please help.

  • My new ipod nano can't be detected by PC

    It was working before same PC, same ipod nano. When it works, the screen showing "Do Not Disconnected" when ipod nano connected to PC and it also works with iTunes for downloading or any other functions. But now, the screen is only showing "Charging with big battery icon in green color", the ipod nano can't be detected by PC. I don't know what happened. I did download the latest version of iTunes and went through all step that Apple suggested but it doesn't work at all.
    What's happening in my new ipod nano? I just bought it in 2 weeks ago and if it can't be function with iTunes for downloading, how come I bought the 8GB new version of ipod nano? I'm very upset about the ipod. Please kinly help to fix the problem. Thank you.

    Okay, sounds like we have either a questionable USB port on the Computer or the iPhone or a bad USB cable.  Anything you can do to isolate where the problem connection is will help come up with a mitigation and/or resolution.  You could connect something else you may have to your USB port on the computer, such as a camera.  That may tell us the Computer and associated USB port is working.  You also could tell us if the iPhone and the USB cable charges your iPhone when connected to your charger and a wall outlet.  Now if both those tests prove successful, there still could be a problem with your USB cable.  If you have another cable you should try it.

  • AE works for Mac, but can't be detected by PC?

    Hi everyone,
    I've been hovering around on the forums reading stuff for a while now but I've only just decided to actually log on and post something because I've come up against a brick wall of a problem...
    I've had my AirPort Express for over a year now. It's worked fine up until about a week ago; I've been accessing the Internet from my two Macs and my family's been doing the same from their PCs without a hitch.
    As of a few days ago, however, the main electrical fuse in the entire apartment blew. I'm not sure if that's the problem, but now the PCs can't even detect my AE wireless network. My Mac, on the other hand, automatically connected to it as usual.
    I've checked up on the settings for the AE to see if it was reset or something, but it looks alright (I mean, if it worked fine for me without having to adjust anything, then why shouldn't it work for the PCs?).
    No matter what I do, I can't seem to detect the network even if I bring a Windows notebook right up against the AE. It's driving me crazy. I just can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Can anyone help?

    Welcome, adrianma.cq ,
    If your mac's and the AE talk with each other as before, it means that the Mac's and the AE have not changed. this leaves only one conlcusion: the PC's have changed.
    what i would do: throw the network open by setting it in Airport admin. utility, and see whether the pc's can see it. if yes, it is a question of getting the right network name and wassword. if the pc's can't see it, then move (at least one of) them close to the AE and see whether there is a signal (still keep the AE network open and unprotected).
    Now it depends: if you see a faint signal, the pc's antenna's, drivers, whatsoever have suffered. if you nothing, it might be that the pc'antenna's are switched off, or their setting is completely changed, or ...
    Unfortunately i'm not familiar with pc's and wireless, (and - after having seen my sister's trouble with this, I want to keep it like this...) - i mean: the problem is clearly on the side of the pc,s not of the AE, and the only thing i see which you can do is to open up the networks so that the pc's MUST see it.

    I have a KY4 Ultra, model MS-6590 (v1.X), G52-M6590X6.
    I can install, or detect the sound card. In the manual I found an option to enable or disable the Audio Controller, but in my MOBO, I can´t find this option.
    The Windows 98SE can detect the Multimedia Card, and I tried to install manually  with the "Drivers CD", but in the begining of the instalation, appears a message saying that there can detect the Sound Card.
    What can be that ?

  • Xbox 360 can't even detect router in the house at all now???

    My Xbox 360 was working just fine then my internet went out got that fixed now my Xbox 360 can't even detect a router in the house anymore. It can't detect a network,it doesn't even give me a wireless option to connect to on my 360,I ran the Linksys Easylink Advisor,it shows my 360 on there but it isn't lit up like it use to be. I called Linksys they can't even get it back online......I don't know what else to do to make it detect my 360,when they fixed my internet they bridged my router,don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

    On your XBOX are you able to find anyother Wireless Networks? I think you need to make some changes on your Wireless Router as Well as on your XBOX, i think once you make all this changes on your router, this will solve your problem.
     Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
    Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
    For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    -Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    -Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
    Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
    Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
    Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings

  • External HD can't be detected on Mac but on WinXP

    I have an external HD ( NTSF ) running USB 2.0. It can't be detected on Mac but it's okay on WinXP side ( BootCamp ). I have tried all USB sockets behind but no use. As I remember, it used to work but I haven't used it for awhile & now can't be detected.
    What else should I check or do ?

    my iMac has the USB hard disk problem like yours too. but the case may be different, the situation is as below:
    1). All 3 USB ports on Back of my iMac can not recognize my Old USB HD(80G, Fat32), but it worked before. and difference is they all works well with my other 2 USB HDs(40G, 320G), flash disks, digital camera, and phone.
    2). the HD can be find in System INFO. but not at Finder and Disk Utilities.
    3). the Old HD can be recognized at my Keyboard's USB port, but very slow.
    4). the Old HD works well under Windows(bootcamp) and my dell notebook
    5). my OS is 10.4.10 now.
    6). I remember, I once switch off Disk power before normal eject it first, and several long time usages(render movies over 4 hours of continuous usage)
    7). I tried "USB probe" and reset PRAM by command-option-p-r after power on. but no luck.
    8). I tried reformat it to both FAT32 and MAC Format, but they don't work too.
    9). I tried replace the HD with other one (80G Fat32, I have two Hard Disk sharing with One USB Case), no luck again.
    I'm very frustrated, because I'm not sure if new apple patch(if it will be one day) will fix my problem. since mine is a little different from yours and many others in this furom...

  • Audigy NX / Win XP not detected as USB Device! Can't Inst

    My NX which is under a month old all of a sudden is not being detected by Windows XP anymore. I plugged it in today (it was working fine a few days ago) and it was giving washed out music when playing a CD - like everything was muffled and the bass was dominating. I unplugged it, replugged it in but Windows detected the USB device as "Audigy NX" and tried to reinstall the hardware, but failed, and that was the end of it - It did not appear under my device manager profiles, nor could I get it to work anymore with my laptop. I removed all the Audigy NX software, unplugged everything, went into safe mode and uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the drivers... what it comes down to is that Windows won't even detect the hardware when I pull the cable out and plug it in again. What do I do when all the drivers & problem solutions are dependant on Windows seeing my USB device. (I even uninstalled the USB roots on my computer and redetected them.. it only found my USB mouse, but no the Audigy NX.) I haven't made any hardware or software changes since I last used it - I have been operating Windows XP Home edition, SP2 with no problems with the NX up until now. Perhaps its a Windows thing, but maybe you can offer some help.

  • Audigy(1) Platinum PCI Not Detected By Installation CD In New Desk

    Hello, I just updated to a new computer and pulled my Audigy Platinum SB0090 (with the front dri've panel) out of my old system and installed it in my new systemell E52 (AMD dual core)Windows XP SP23GB memory?) I disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS.2) Installed the Audigy Sound PCI card and dri've panel.3) Upon boot, Windows XP installs the Firewire and Gameport automatically. I tell it "no" when it prompts my to install audio device drivers.4) I try to install the current Audigy Platinum drivers from here, SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006, but it tells me no Audigy is detected and won't install.5)?I try to install the drivers from my original installation CD (PN: 220ML0003067) and am also?told that my?Audigy is not detected.6) The new PC has two PCI slots, 3 and 4. is PCIe6, 2 is PCIe. I've tried both PCI slots to no avail. The BIOS shows an audio device in whatever slot it is in. Partial Solution:7)? I went ahead a told Windows XP to search for drivers and it'sdid find?them on the original installation CD and installed them. I now have basic operations, but no dri've panel access. However, both installers above still cannot detect the Audigy. In Device Manager I now show:- Sound, video and game controllers-- Audio Codecs-- Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)-- Creative Gameport-- Legacy Audio Drivers-- Legacy Video Capture Devices-- Media Control Devices-- Video Codecs?All of the above devices are working properly.   • Audigy 2 Isn't Being Detected Correc

    This is a weird problem that I can't find out anything about anywhere online.
    Basically I left home for a week and when I got back my sound was very crackly, with some movies and songs not playing at all. I restarted my PC to see if it helped after checking the speaker connections and testing them with my onboard sound.
    After the restart the SoundCard refused to work at all. I reinstalled the drivers and ran Creative Diagnostic which then resulted in the card apparently not being detected.
    I did a manual install as recommended on the Creative Knowledge Base which resulted in the following items being detected in Windows:
    - PCI Input Device
    - System Interrupt Device (x2)
    - Mass Storage Device
    - VGA Device
    None of these had appeared before and bearing in mind that the only PCI device I own is the Audigy 2 Platinum (my graphics are PCI-E) this REALLY confuses me (the EMU Processor is definitely present when using other diagnostic programs: the SoundCard does exactly the same thing on 2 of my friends PC's by the way).
    Any help would be greatly appreiciated as the card is bearly 3 months old and there is no way it could have been damaged during my time away (locked door, unplugged at the mains).
    UPDATE: Since getting the latest drivers I have sucessfully installed the soundcard but the above items are still listed in device manager and I still recieve absolutely no sound at all!? PLEASE HELP!!

    no, i am just talking about the display attached to the computer. It doesn't seem to always do it either, this time when i started up it was ok, but sometimes when i start up or when it has been sleeping for a while it comes up without detecting the screen. the first time that it happened it was set to like 800x600 or whatever and it was all stretched and pixelated and i changed it to 1400x900, because the default 1440x900 wasn't listed and now when it doesn't detect the screen, it goes to that. Then like i said i have to go into system prefs and click detect screen for it to bring back the original settings. it is very odd, has anyone else experienced this problem?

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2: Can't install updated drive

    Creative Media source was getting a error and disallowed me to access the EAX console.
    So i did a clean sweep and uninstalled Audigy 2 and its components (Media Source etc).
    With that i lost my updated drivers. I resently downloaded a updated driver from this site
    Audigy2/2 zs Web update WDM. But... when i try to run the setup for the update i get this errror:
    Setup did not detect a driver version supported by this web update: The installation will now close.
    also another file from a different source:
    Setup could not find any previous version of Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Web Update WDM Drivers
    Installed.
    My sound card is obiviously a Audigy 2. It displays this information:
    Creative Audigy Audio Processor WDM (CF00)
    Driver Version 5.2..328 (Version from the Installion CD)
    Please help me get new Drivers!!!

    You can't install this if you have not install the EAX4 driver first. Read the detail information in those download page first.

  • My Ellipsis 8 can no longer detect my gym's wifi signal. Please help!

    I used my Ellipsis 8 to watch Netflix over the open wifi signal at my gym for 2 months with no problem. One day I showed up and no signal was found. I went through all the trouble shooting steps all the way down to factory resets with no resolution. Called Verizon tech support and still nothing. They had me send them the tablet in a recovery box. One week later I have the tablet back and they said nothing was wrong with the unit. I went to the gym today and it still can not detect the signal. My Samsung phone picks up a very strong signal. No other people have reported a problem with wifi connection issues. Obviously Planet Fitness will not allow me to start messing with their router. Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

    I understand the importance of ensuring you are able to get connected to wifi michaeltatham. Allow us to get to the bottom of your tablet concerns. Have you recently installed any new software or new applications when it stopped connecting to the gym wifi? Have you tried to connect another device to your gym wifi?
