Audigy 2 ZS + Creative T5400 Speakers giving no 5.1 in mov

Hi there,
I've had this setup for a while but never really tried to play movies on my machine until recently. I have no trouble playing games in perfect 5., and it sounds wonderful, but I have been trying to watch DVD's and trailers in 5. but only getting 2 channel audio. It is connected with the 3 analog outputs and I have the AC3 decoder thing installed, whats going wrong? Any suggestions?

Well, I uninstalled my AC3 filter and it caused my entire windows to crash, so I've reformatted, and I'm still not getting 5.. I can't find any specific SPDIF passthrough. In media player, i found the DVD advanced window, and saw the speaker settings thing, and there was SPDIF, but it didn't do anything different.

I have the setup mentioned in the subject and I have been wondering something: Is there a way to get Windows to upmix and use more than just 2 speakers for mp3s or other sound files? I have noticed that uinless I turn on CMSS, only the 2 front speakers are used unless of course I am playing a DVD or something.
This is odd to me because my last sound card was a SB Live! 5.1 and I have 4.1 surround and I didn't even have CMSS installed and Windows would always upmix mp3 stereo into the 4 speakers. Why doesn't it do it with 5.1 speakers and the Audigy 2?

    Zeonstar,
CMSS is to my knowledge your only option for upmixing the sound to 5.1 with this setup. This is not a bad thing however as CMSS is a hardware feature of the card so it is not requiring extra software to be running in the background. Just enable it and it should give you 5.1 on all your stereo tracks.

  • 5.1 sound in games with Creative Digital-Speakers and Audigy 2

    Hi!
I know that you can't have real 5. sound (only upmix) in games with Creative Digital-Speakers. Is it possible to connect, without the decoder box, the soundcard with the subwoofer (Line-Out -3)? I want to make the cable for LIN_OUT 3 by myself, but which of the 4 pins are for the subwoofer, center front or center rear (ground is clear)?

Go to Knowledge Base article SID3069 then expand the "7. Soundblaster Cards".
It is possible to have 5. digital sound in games if your Creative speaker system has a digital DIN connection.

  • Problem with Audigy 2ZS and Logitech z5500 speakers

Hi, all. I've had my Audigy 2ZS for a while, and I've been using Creative 4. speakers. I just got the logitech z5500 5. speakers, and I've been trying to get them to work properly with my soundcard, but it's giving me headaches.
The setup: I'm using the 3 direct inputs to go from the sound card to the speakers, so all the various digital issues I've read about *shouldn't* be issues for me.
The problem: When I do my a sound test using the Speaker Settings controller, my rear speakers are reversed, and one of them doesn't play at all! I've confirmed that all my speakers work, and I've used the diagnostic tools that come with the speakers to make sure that the speakers themselves are set up and working correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm really frustrated...this seems like it's either a card or software issue, but I'm just not certain how to fix it.
    Thanks!

I had the same problem with two different X-Fi extreme music cards. I fixed it by running the speaker test for individual speakers and changin the speaker settings ad nauseum. 'tis an issue with the jack sensing on the drivers.
If you unplug all the connectors and plug them back in, you'll find that some other channel gets screwed up.

  • Final thought on Creative Digital Speakers & no XFi 5.1 digital out

Hold on to any Audigy &2 or SB Li've 5. cards if you own Creative Digital speakers!! My Inspire 5700 speakers are no use for analogue connections. They were made to connect to Creative Digital output sound cards ONLY. The PR at the time said something along the lines of
"It (the SB Li've 5.) comes with digital I/O with S/PDIF digital input/output, MIDI input/output and a Mini-DIN digital out for connecting to Cambridge SoundWorks digital speakers."
So without a compatible card the Creative speakers are useless. I remember being furious when I first realised the inspire decoder would not easily connect to my DVD player or any other type of sound card!
Creative must have known dropping this DIN output in the XFi range would anger their customers and that without the matter being explicitly pointed out, everyone with digital speakers would assume continued support from the new flagship range of soundcards. To try and pretend that any use of Inspire Digital speakers with the XFi range is anything but crippled is outrageous! It is obvious why there is no mention of the 5. DIN output being dropped just as it is obvious the contempt with which Creative hold their customers. It is not just this issue that has formed my low opinion of Creative.(e.g. EAX and VOIP in games were touted in the early SB Li've days and are only now working at all acceptably, many generations of sound card later!).
It is a sad fact that companies who enjoy market domination feel they have the right to behave in this way.Message Edited by hetzer on 02-09-2006 04:52 PM

Another suggestion:It is better if you have a 64 bit hardware supported by 64 bit Win XP or Vista. In my computer the hardware is of 2003 and is of 32 bit. However I can get results only with XP service pack 2 (32 bit)or Vista 32 bit.Normal XP may not work. However I can only get 48 Khz sampling rate and not the advertised 96 Khz sampling rate. Is it due due 32 bit hardware/software?The manufacturer recommends a 64 bit version for best results.

  • My Creative SBS250 speakers no londer work after upgrading to Snow leopard.  Where can I find the driverinstalling

My Creative SBS250 speakers no longer work after upgrading to Snow Leopard.  Where can I find the driver?  Thanks

Everyone in my household who has upgraded to Snow Leopard has had the same problems with program crashes and the computer "forgetting" registration codes.
In fact, after re-entering codes, and then upgrading to 10.6.1, we had to re-enter them again because it forgot (again) that we had bought/registered the software. It was a lot of fun digging through old emails and such looking for the codes, let me tell you.
I'm pulling a Vista and downgrading my computer back to 10.5.x. That was stable and remembered my software, at least.

  • Audigy 2 ZS/Creative Inspire 7.1 issues, please he

<FONT face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size=2>Ok guys, I just put together my new Creative Inspire 7. speaker set (already had an Audigy 2 ZS) and none of my games are recognizing the speakers as 3d. The control panel is set, I double checked my wire connections. What have I missed?

    Justcrash,
What games are giving you this problem? Also make sure you are set to 7. in both creative speaker settings and in the Advanced Section for speakers that is in the Sounds and Audio Devices section of Control Panel.

  • Problem with Creative M4500 speakers

    Hi,
This is Raj. I bought creative M4500 model speakers. I am facing a very peculiar problem with these speakers.
When I connect the plug to the plug to the pin, The audio comes fine with out any problem but suddenly after 5 mins or so, I see that audio is stopped from the speakers, When I check if there is power supply to the speakers, near teh volume controllers I see that the Green buld is blowing which means that there is power supply but there is no audio. When I remove the plug and put into the pin carefully again the audio comes fine.
You may doubt that the pin may not be good or some loose contact, The power pin is perfectly fine, because when I connect any other device(cell charger and external HD power) to the same pin they work with out interruption. More over I aleays see the green light near the Volume controller always on.
I used to think that this is a small problem, but this problem is so irritating that I wanna get rid of this problem as soon as possible.
Can any one advise what could have gone wrong and suggest me any solution to get rid of this problem.
    Thanks alot.
    Raj Kumar

    Hi,
No This does not happen all the time. This comes intermittently. Something like once in a couple of days. But once the problem rises it does not settle for 2-3 hrs, irritates like anything.
I purchased it from the local store. How ever I need to find a service centre @ my place to get some resolution for this.

  • Audigy SE Headset mic w/ speakers prob

<font face="verdana, geneva" color="#808080">My on board sound peaced out the other day, so I bought the Audigy SE sound card and I have sound now, but I use speakers to listen to my games and a headset for communication purposes only, not sound. I plugged the mic part of the headset into the mic slot, but no one could hear me on Ventrilo (s'what we use to talk) so I opened up the volume control for this program and unmuted the mic and it worked, but I heard myself?talking on the speakers. I couldn't find anything in the self-help guides about this. What should I do to make my mic not heard through MY speakers? Any help/ideas would be great!

    relxe,
As the announcement at the top of each board details, the forum is for user interaction, not for Support. We monitor the forums, but don't guarantee a response to every thread.
As far as the question goes, blue connections are normally line in, not microphone (they're usually pink-ish). Did you try the other input? Plug it into the mic input and make sure the mixer is set correctly (particularly the red slider for recording source).

  • 7.1 with Creative S750 speakers on X-Fi Titanium?

I'm a bit confused by the Titanium. It's not listed anywhere as being a 7.1 card, only 5.1. I can't imagine Creative would stop supporting 7.1 on these cards, but I don't see it listed in feature lists anywhere. I currently am using an X-Fi XtremeGamer, with the S750 7.1 speakers. I have read in the Newegg reviews for the Titanium HD that there are no analog outputs for 5.1 or 7.1, only digital.
    So my questions are:
    1. Does the Titanium series support 7.1?
    2. Do they support analog outputs to 7.1 speakers?
    Thanks!

The original X-Fi Titanium PCI-express card does support 7.1 analog and digital audio output. The card had green, black, orange, and grey for 7.1 analog connections. The Titanium HD has RCA jacks for 2 channel analog output which can be adapted to 1/4" 2 channel output as well with the included adapter in the box. In digital mode, the card can do 5.1 output and upmix stereo and four channel sources to 5.1 with the DTS connect options in the card's control panel software.

  • Audigy 4 and standard stereo speakers... how

I have an Audigy 4 card and I'd like to get my pc sound to go through my standard home stereo speakers. What do I have to do to get this to work? I'm a sound system newbie. Is there a particular jack on my stereo that I should be looking for that would connect to the sound card?

    Cable:
(stereo) Mini jack plug to 2 RCA (L/R) cable.
    Connection:
Soundcard:Line-Out # --> (depending on stereo system but) Stereo:Aux-In should be OK.

  • Audigy 2 ZS + Creative T7900 7.1 Centre Speaker Prob

I've just installed an Audigy 2 ZS sound card and Inspire T7900 speaker system. When setting up the speakers I noticed that the centre speaker was not working, looking into the problem futher the speaker is working but the volume level for it is SO VERY LOW. I've tried lowering the volume levels of the rest of the speakers to try and balance it out, but that doesn't help much.
    Can anyone help?
P.S. I'm using Windows XP SP2 & the latest drivers for the sound card.

Thanks for the replys, tried all but still the same.
I then decided to remove the sound card and reinstall it to a differnet PCI slot. Whilst removing the card I noticed that the cable connecting to Line Out 3 (Yellow'ish) couldn't fit flush up against the sound card, 5mins later, and small modifaction to the case and hey presto full 7. sound.
    P.S. I'm an idiot 8-))
I like your honesty there. and enjoy ur audio now. Cheers
