Audigy 2 zs diagnostic calibration thx prob

High just installed the sb thx gigawork speakers and a sb audigy 2 zs oem.
when running the diagnostic setup the polarization part does not change sound on centre left right and sub woff.
I have also noted in the speakers dont work when the spaceship demo flies around the speakers in the lets get started software.
other than that most diagnostics work fine. all wires checked and re checked.
all speakers work but the software diagnostic may indicate a possible hardware fault?
note i have updated all software via the auto update
any help welcome.

Hi Thanks for the reply
the oem board came with a driver CD so the card was installed via this cd. It also contained the various diagnostics.
I have already updated via the web auto upadte drivers.
so as far as I can tell all the software is up to date. which should include the hd software patch you suggested
have you had a similar problem?
thanks
Phil

  • Audigy 2 zs 5.1 channel prob

I'm using an audigy 2 zs card with logitech z-5300 5. speakers and it was working a few days ago before coming back to school. Currently I'm getting sound from all my speakers when playing music or dvds, but when I try to calibrate them using Creative speaker settings or THX setup when I press the channel or noise buttons I hear "Front Left" from my front left and front center speakers and "Front Right" from my front right and center speakers, and nothing from any other speaker.
I have a feeling I just have some setting wrong somwhere cause I've checked my connections repeatedly and have tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling the card and drivers. If anyone else has experienced this and can help I'd appreciate it.
    -Jon

Go to creative mixer and make sure you have all 5 sliders working.
Go through all creative apps and enable 5.
Go to Windows control panel and sound / speakers / advanced and make sure its at 5..
In control panel change view to classic and now you will see Audio HQ. go through it also and make sure its set up right.

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy ZS And Vista Driver installation prob

    HI!
I encounter Installation problems with that file:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit XP and Windows Vista Pack .04.0077
I Use Vista 64Bit Ultimate and when I try to install this package I have an error message after my language selection. Is there a known issue for this
    Thanks!

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
    Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy including Platinum and Platinum eX series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 including Platinum, Platinum eX, and Value series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS including Platinum and Platinum Pro series

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Microphone Probs

Hello, I have had a frustrating time getting my microphone to work consistently using this card and Windows 7 x64. Here is what is happening:
Usually when I first boot up, my microphone will not work with Ventrilo or Windows Sound Recorder (no bars in the recording meter). If I enable Line in playback I can hear myself crystal clear all of the time so this is a good control. The mic is working, but the input isn't being passed onto programs. If I open/close ventrilo maybe 20-30 times I will be able to get the microphone to work. Usually it first starts out choppy after about 5 ventrilo open/closes and then it is finally sounds good. When I first get started trying to get the microphone to work, I won't see the green bars light up in the equalizer for the mic recording device. But once it gets started, I see the lights working. I DON'T CHANGE ANY SETTINGS BETWEEN WHEN THE MIC WORKS AND DOESN'T WORK. It just starts to work. My friend says getting my mic to work is like starting up an old Model A. You have to crank on it a while.
Drivers I have tried but all behave the same:
Default Windows 7 creative Audigy 2 drivers
    Updated Audigy 2 drivers (July 2009 ) 2_8_00
    Daniel K Drivers (3.6)
In Windows recording devices Mic I have tried the following:
Turning On/Off "allow programs to take exclusi've control of the device"
    Different bit rates
    Disabling the other recording devices
    In Ventrilo I have tried:
Direct Sound on/off (makes no difference), works/doesn't work both ways
Hardware Mixer NONE/Line, makes no difference.
Currently have all input devices disabled except the two below.

    - Tested the Daniel_k driver set. Those really didn't work unfortunately but I appreciate the effort anyone puts into releasing a third party driver set.
Also, I noticed there were more sound devices showing up in safe mode. Are those only loaded in safe mode? Specifically "Microsoft Approved Audio Drivers".
Is there a possibility of conflict?

  • Audigy SE Headset mic w/ speakers prob

<font face="verdana, geneva" color="#808080">My on board sound peaced out the other day, so I bought the Audigy SE sound card and I have sound now, but I use speakers to listen to my games and a headset for communication purposes only, not sound. I plugged the mic part of the headset into the mic slot, but no one could hear me on Ventrilo (s'what we use to talk) so I opened up the volume control for this program and unmuted the mic and it worked, but I heard myself?talking on the speakers. I couldn't find anything in the self-help guides about this. What should I do to make my mic not heard through MY speakers? Any help/ideas would be great!

    relxe,
As the announcement at the top of each board details, the forum is for user interaction, not for Support. We monitor the forums, but don't guarantee a response to every thread.
As far as the question goes, blue connections are normally line in, not microphone (they're usually pink-ish). Did you try the other input? Plug it into the mic input and make sure the mixer is set correctly (particularly the red slider for recording source).

  • Audigy 4 Pro - Line In 3 Prob

I have been having a huge issue with getting my Line In 3 to play audio from my Television and/or my DVD player. I sent my first Audigy 4 Pro back because I could not get the Line In 3 to work. Now I am having the same problem on a completely different sound card. My DVD player's audio out work just fine when they are hooked into the TVs in, but when I hook the DVD outs to the external hub's Line In 3 nothing comes out of my computer speakers. I am so frustrated with this sound card. Any help would be grateful.

    - are all other features working well in Ext. Hub (powerful enough PSU or is the additional power for the A4 PCI card taken from shared floppy power cable))?
I've only ever used the Line-In and the Headphone jack on the front, they work fine. There is a red light coming out of the Optical out on the front (expected). The card does have a 4 pin connection and it is plugged in.
    - have you tried w/o other peripherals connected into Hub (just one through line-in 3)?
Yes, same results (but ... see below).
    - have you installed latest drivers/software updates for your card?
Where can I find the latest drivers at? I hate to download and install the wrong ones.
    - have you tried by uninstalling the CT software suite (least Surround Mixer) and control I/Os through Windows Play/Recording Controls (start run... mmsys32 and mmsys32 /r)
I have not tried to uninstall anything and I type mmsys32 in the command prompt and get an error that it can not find the program.
Update: I turned my computer off last night and turned it back on this morning, plug my RCA cables into my external hub and get a steady low frequency "buzz".

  • SB Audigy 2 Value - Device In Use Prob

I have a home built PC. I have Windows XP PRO SP2. I have installed SB Audigy 2 Vlue successfully. I know it did because I can play the DVD Audio disk they included in the package. I hear sound/music from all speakers. When I try to play something from Windows Media Player 0, system sounds, AOL sounds, a store bought CD or a store bought DVD I get Device in Use message. I know I have it installed correctly from the the CD/DVD player because of the DVD Audio disk. I changed from SB Li've to this new one and can't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Mpaxtoniii,
When you go into Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices what is listed as the default playback device? Also you may want to run the program DXdiag and run a sound test to see if everything passes. To run DXdiag go to start/run and type in DXdiag and then click ok.

  • Creative Audigy and M-Audio Studiophile LX4 Prob

    Hi
I build computers but I hang my head in shame at my knowledge of sound cards in my computer I have an Creative Audigy sound card and I have just purchased the M-Audio Studiophile LX4 2. speaker system.
I?m having a problem hooking it up as at the moment the sub is running of the left and right inputs. If I plug the sub input into the digital/audio out like I?m supposed to it doesn?t do any thing. I have CMSS enabled so I know it'ss not that.
    Can any one help me?

...just use the normal stereo output (green plug) for 2. speakers. Despite the name, there is no separate "sub" input on ANY 2. speakers on the market: they all work with a stereo signal, and the sub channel is separated by a low-pass filter inside the speaker's amp itself.

  • Audigy 2 zs Plat Recording source prob

Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I have the Audigy 2 zs Platinum card with front I/O. I used to be able to record from tapes to the computer but now I cannot do this anymore. I have my cables coming out of the headphone jack (from stereo - the only out put source) and into my front I/O dri've in the Line In jacks (l ch and r ch) but I get no sound going into my computer. I think it maybe win xp or my card but I don't know. I checked my volume settings in my computer and nothing is muted. My front i/o dri've works because my firewire port works fine.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

Well, I just searched the forums here and found that this is a common problem in Counter-Strike, not the Creative software. I will try the solutions the other users have tried, and hope it works. If anyone still has a helpful comment, please post!

  • Audigy Line-in Stereo as Mono prob

I have an original Audigy which I am recording stereo through line-in but no matter what recording program or operating system (98SE & Win2000 dualboot) the left and right channels are mixed to mono. They both have the same signal on them. It plays games, music, etc. in stereo just fine. It was working a few days ago so I'm worried the sound card went bad.
I'm I missing something simple? Any thoughts?
    -thanks

<SPAN>It's a little complicated but I'm using the line-in to record two separate phototransistor voltage changes on two channels but that really is independent of the problem because both the Sound Forge and Sony Audition software left and right channel monitor levels are indicating equal levels even though they are set for 48kHz stereo sampling.<SPAN> It has worked okay for quite awhile before and the input levels are very low so I don?t think it was zapped by high input levels.
<SPAN>I did get it to work momentarily after messing with Dxdiag sound tests and the Audigy control panel speaker tests but after rebooting the computer it was back to no good.
<SPAN>I will have to say that I did install a new motherboard but the drivers are all up to date.
<SPAN>Can this be related to hardware/driver issues? I just assumed that a stereo signal coming into the card and showing up as stereo on the software was a very basic function.

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Freezing Prob

Hello, i am using a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard and whilst in playback my computer keeps freezing. I have used different software to see if it was that but both freeze in playback. I use media source and windows media player. I use usb for a USB internet connection and the other for a plug and play USB Midi controller. Could this be interfering?

  • Audigy 2 nx hot plug/unplug prob

    hi,
i have a creative audigy 2 usb sound blaster. even though its usb, i dont always find it hot plugable. if i hibernate my windowsXP box and then turn it back on, i have to logoff and then log on for it to recognize the device. this become very frustrating especially if suddenly the device turns off (either due to power cut or plug snapping out of the socket or whatever). is there no way to make windows identify the device, other than logging off and then logging back on? is this a fault of the driver?
if anybody has any solutions, please respond.
    thanks,
    -spitzfires.

I am currently experiencing the same problem. I had unplugged mine to transport it and when i tried using it again it refused to turn on. I know it's getting power because when i plug headphones into and then plug in the power, there is an audible pop as the headphones receive power. However the NX still doesn't appear to turn on (no LEDs are lit) and windows still doesn'tdetect it. any ideas?

  • 3 Audigy cards all have the same prob

I have 3 different computers. All of them are running Windows XP-Home adddition. They all have over GB of memory. They are all faster than 2.4 GHz processors. They all have ATI video cards with 256 MB or more of memory. They all have Audigy sound cards in them. They all installed without any problems. They have all worked for over a year or more. They all have developed the same problem and that is right after the warranty expired on each of them. When any of the computers boot up, during the boot up process two error boxes pop up. One is labled [ Creative Taskbar ], the other is labeled [CLTTray ]. They both state the same issue. "The sound card in the system is not properly installed. Reinstall the sound card and try again."? Reinstalling the sound card does not resolve the issue. Something in the registry has been altered and stays even if you reinstall the sound card. I have contacted Creative support several times and the only solution suggested was to send $2 by credit card for 30? minutes of disscussion. I have recently emailed Creative support and specifically requested the information of what to alter in the registry to resolve the issue. Creative ignored my request and suggested I try this discussion group, if I was not interested in paying for discussion. I have li'ved with this problem of these error boxes popping up on all of these computers for some time. It is an annoyance to have to click ok twice on each box to remove them from the desktop, only to have them appear the very next time the computer is booted up. Is anyone associated with this newsgroup familiar with this issue and what it takes to resolve it. I would appreciate any positi've information.

    Hello Barnkeeper,
The simplest and easiest test to try first of all is this one...
Place the mouse on a blank sheet of A4 paper. Then try again. If it works now, then its the surface that you were using. A new mouse mat may be in order.
    Regards
    Ian.
