Audigy 2 zs driv

Does anyone know when creative are going to release the new drivers for the Audigy 2 zs officialy? I dont really want to be using non-official drivers but they seem to be taking ages to update them.

I do not understand your problem there.
These WHQL drivers are the latest drivers for all Audigy 2 and 4 models and for X-Fi models too.
NOTE:
Drivers version 5.2.06.6 pour audigy2/4/X-Fi sous Windows 2000/Xp, WHQL new
Drivers version 5.2.02.43 pour Audigy2/4 sous Windows 2000/Xp 32/64bits, WHQL new
Drivers are Creative made and Microsoft (WHQL) certified (eg. ~official) but not released by Creative. If the latest (underlined) is your problem then you'll have to keep waiting.
I'm using version 5.2.06.6 for audigy2/4/X-Fi for Windows 2000/Xp, WHQL, with my Audigy 2 (soft modded to 2 Zs) card without problems.
Of course, I understand, if you did not get these drivers to work with your card.

• Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS - Driver is

Hello,
Recently my creative speaker settings and all my THX controls stopped working. I removed all my drivers, then reinstalled the following from the creative website.
. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004
This reinstalled the creative media center as well as the creative audio console, but it did not install the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS folder or application etc, which is what has all the Creative Speaker Settings and THX control and all the other creative options. I tried using the driver installation disc which came with the soundcard, but although it shows the creative settings/ THX control installed, whenever i try to open those applications, I get an error message saying that it cannot open that audio device, install audio drivers. I searched for the right drivers and even did the automatic updater, yet it did not work.
So basically could anyone help me find the right driver to download so my creative speaker settings, THX console and all those other apllications will work?
Thanks for your time.

Even using just the CD drivers, shouldn't the applications still work?
right now when I try to open creative speaker settings I get the error:
The Audio device selected by this application is not detected. The application will exit.
Does that mean anything?

Hi guys,

You may want to download the file at:

Even using just the CD drivers, shouldn't the applications still work?

• Audigy 2 ZS, Driver update results in broken driver, no sound.

> I recently bought a used Audigy 2 ZS which works fine with the drivers from the CD. I don't know how old they are, Creative System Informations says driver version .82.0. That's why i wanted to update them. I had a Li've! before, so i knew how to update the drivers with the auto updater on the creative site. By the way, i did a clean up of the old drivers with Driver Sweeper before installing the new sound card.
When i do a driver update with the auto updater on the Creative website it downloads and install the newer drivers, but after the mandatory reboot i have no sound, and every Tool crashes, throws an error message or just doesn't work. I lose all my EAX effects and can't select any speakers. The only way to solve that is to uninstall everything and do a clean start with the CD.
I can update everything via the auto updater, except the drivers.
Using Audigy 2 ZS and Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon XP 3200+

With XP I'm still using 2.8.000, they seem to work fine

• Audigy 4 ASIO driver inquiry

Hi,
After reading thru several posts in different forums, I still have one question:
What (the heck) is the purpose of the "SB Audigy 4 24/96" ASIO driver mode? I can't record anything when I select that, in Logic 5 for Windows. With the normal driver "SB Audigy 4 ASIO", it's fine. The card has a good sound, and nice software, but this doesn't work... I also find that more often than not, the reply to these types of messages is something like "get another soundcard". Well, no thanks! The non-pro Audigy 4 is actually the single most expensive piece of hardware inside my PC (except the processor maybe?).
What's more, the on-line documentation states that the card has ASIO2 support for 24-bit/96kHz recording, the feature that I want to use, but how?

I don't know about Logic, but i had that issue with cubase sx and my audigy 2zs (i guess they are similar cards). When i choose Asio 24/96 it mutes the Line-in in creative mixer, so there is no sound incoming to cubase.
Solution for me:
- open cubase and select asio 24/96;
- with cubase still opened go to creative mixer and unmute Line-in (check also if you have Analog Mix as the recording source);
- set the Line-in level in creative mixer to the amount i want (usually 0db);
- then return to cubase and activate Analog Mix in the "Vst input" menu;
- add an audio track, arm it to record, check the input source (it must be Analog Mix), activate monitoring and hit record.
Now i'm recording with asio 24/96 and monitoring all the effects i want in that track.
Note: When you choose asio 24/96 your card inputs will be reduced. With my audigy 2zs i'll have only 3 input sources and the only one that's used to record with asio 24/96 is Analog Mix (Line in).
Hope this will help you.

• Audigy 4 Pro Driver Annoya

Hi,
I am currently experiencing issues with my Audigy 4 Pro drivers whilst trying to use SPDIF pass-through to my external decoder (and surround setup).
I am running the latest beta drivers available through the website and until I installed these drivers, pass-through worked fine. Now however, my decoder is unable to recognise a digital signal from the soundcard.
I am loathe to backpedal and install the old driver again because as well as a film enthusiast I am also a gamer and need the OpenAL support that the beta driver provides. In addition to that my PC used to suffer intolerably long shutdown periods using the original driver supplied on the CD.
Can you tell me if this is a known issue, and if so will a stable release of the driver ever be made available? I find the issue extremely annoying as this was an expensi've bit of kit and I have previously owned both an Audigy and an Audigy 2 without having had any problems.
Many thanks,
Pete

You obviously have not read my last post properly. If I go back to the old driver then I suffer horribly long Windows shut down periods again and also lose OpenAL support for games. It is definitely the Creative driver which causes this.
Very dissapointed with creative on this one.Message Edited by pshuttle on -28-2005 05:29 PM

• What are the best audigy 2 zs drive

ones that will wok best and sound best with everything, whether they're official or not
I bought an audigy 2 zs but all i'm doing is having problems with it, probably all driver problems and i've tried different ones on different setups/computers/formats and continue having problems:
-dvd audio like that on the demo cd that came with it does not play
-hissing on certain speakers, and happens randomly on all speakers too
-adobe premier not bootng. gives a 0xc0000005 error, i remember googling it and the first thing that came up was adobe telling me i had a vaio notebook and i needed to update something that has something to do with audio that i didn't have installed on my dell. I'm sure it was my audigy 2 drivers because it happened right after i updated them.
-fable (pc game) not booting. it doesn't really give an error aside from windows urging me to send a report of this error to them
-creative audio console always defaults to 2. setup from 4. setup for no reason, I have to switch it back all the time since i have a 4. setup. it happens randomly even if the computer was on the whole time.
I'm sure I've been having other problems that i can't remember. thank you for all your help!

I forgot to mention that the adobe premier problem only happened after me updating to beta drivers (off this website) so maybe that's my fault.
the rest of the problems have happpened, and continue to happen with using all drivers I've tried. all of them were official, i've tried the ones right off the cd i got, and using autoupdate.

• Problem updating Audigy 2 NX driv

I have a Dell 8600 notebook with an Audigy 2 NX. I have no problem installing and running the device when using the original driver from the disc, however when I try to update to the newer drivers I get nothing but crackling and screaching noises.
I have had this problem for a while now, support were of no help to me so I decided that i would li've with it for a while. I have just reinstalled my system and thought I would try the new drivers again but again I have the same problem. I can li've with original driver but I think this means that the device is only connected as a USB . device, is this right? If anyone can help me with this I would be very greatful as it is starting to annoy me now.

This is just a thought but it may be possible if you use 3rd part drivers for your 2nd card.
So, try these drivers for NX and use original (Creative bundled) drivers for MP3+.
NOTE: I have never had USB cards, so I have not tested if USB-ASIO driver shows as another driver on your driver list(s). It's also seems to be compatible with both of your cards.

• Error trying to run Audigy 2 Value driver inst

I recently purchased an OEM Audigy 2 value sound card that came with no driver installation CD. I have tried three times to download the drivers from the creative website and every time I have come up with this error while it is extracting:
File error CRC, 0xf3b0b7f:0xeb4fd5b
I am installing this to a brand new computer that has never had any sound card on in it. The on board sound is still running if that makes a difference.
I have looked throughout the forum with no avail. Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

I have the EXACT same problem... I can't seem to get anywhere with it either.
I've noticed a few such posts on the forum, but unforunately there have been no replies.
If anyone out there knows a workaround, please let us know!

• Audigy 2 ZS driver prob

*sigh* Where to start?
A couple of days ago I made the huge mistake of deciding to reformat my hdd's and "start fresh" as my computer had been developing some issues over the past few months. I'll spare you the horrid details of my struggle to get WinXP Home installed.
I get booted up with my fresh install of XP and begin the wonderful task of installing Norton Internet Security, Ad-Aware and then playing the update game for Windows. Once that is all done I decide it's now time to get my hardware drivers up to date. I begin with my Audigy 2ZS Gamer card. In a nutshell what's happening is this: I can install just about every driver package I have (Install CD and downloaded versions) but my sound card just flat won't work. I have zero sound with the exception of my system speaker in the case which only beeps to alert me to errors or during bootup.
When I check the status under Device Manager it shows everything is working perfectly. No conflicts anywhere. I browse through to the actual listing for the sound card itself and the initial screen tells me that my device is working properly. In fact every screen/window I look at tells me that my card is installed and working just fine except for one. In the properties tab (where it shows what device is being used for certain programs such as midi device, mixer, etc.) if I highlight the device under any of the trees and click the properties button I get the following message "Driver is enabled but not functioning properly". Furthermore, when I click on the settings tab in the window that gives me the status I get an error message stating "Cannont load Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM) driver. The driver file may be missing. Try installing the driver again, or contact your system administrator".
This is a problem that I have never encountered in my 0+ years of building and maintaining my own systems. I am a total loss of what to do next. I have double, triple and quadruple checked my BIOS settings to ensure that my onboard sound was (and stayed) disabled. I have un-installed and re-installed my card numerous times using 3 different PCI slots. During this Windows never once auto-detected my card. It always attempted to install a Multimedia Sound Device instead of a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 product. To test my card to make sure it wasn't fried I installed it in another computer running WinXP and it auto detected it just fine and began the installation process with no prompting from me at all. I have un-installed and re-installed the drivers from both the install CD and stand alone downloaded drivers using numerous methods (including the ones listed in the "Read this before posting" thread for this forum). An interesting note regarding driver installations. The latest stable (ie Microsoft signed) drivers will not install for me. I get an error message stating "Setup did not detect the set of required components you have. Setup will exit". Yet I have 2 sets of beta drivers that install just fine. Well except for the part where they are enabled but not functioning properly =P.
So now I am stumped. My card worked perfectly in this same exact system just 2 days ago before I decided to reformat. I didn't have any problems installing it when I originaly built the system either. In fact this is the first major problem I've had installing a SB card in any system for quite a few years now. Short of attempting to re-install Windows again (which I highly doubt would work anyways) I am all out of things to try. Anyone have any other suggestions or perhaps even experienced this problem before and might be able to help me out? Oh and before someone suggests it, yes I did keyword search these forums prior to posting and didn't find anything that would help =).
P.S.: It seems that these forum don't want to play nice with me either. Appologies for the horrid formatting of this post. I hope there aren't too many cases of bleeding eyes because of it =).

I have almost the same problem,
I'm going crazy on this, I have a long story of self built computers too...
Audigy 2 ZS "correctly" installed, but drivers details on "mixer", "midi" and all the codecs details are "installed but not working correctly".
I'm going to format and reinstall everything to see if it's due to previous drivers for an "onboard" sound card

• HOWTO: Audigy 2 ZS driver inst

This seems to be a common problem. I first found this board because I was trying to solve it myself and was shocked that such a basic thing like installing a driver was so difficult with this card. I also noticed that all of the advice creative provides doesn't seem to work for most people. Anyway, the following is how I solve the problem, your mileage may vary.
Firstly, let me make sure everyone understands that I had just performed a fresh install of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 on a brand new Dell Dimension 8400.
The symptoms I were experiencing were as follows:
Windows XP was detecting the card and the game port, but was unable to find a driver in its database. The card was showing up in "Device Manager" as "Multimedia Audio Device" and the game port was showing up as "PCI Input Device". When I tried to install creative's driver, I received an error message saying that the card was not present in the system.
I gave the creative troubleshooting steps a try (removing/replacing the board, etc) but nothing worked. I resolved the issue in the following way:
. Make sure that the card is in the 3rd PCI slot.
2. Boot into XP as normal and let the hardware detection wizard fail (it won't find the drivers anyway...)
3. Download the EAX 4.0 driver from creative's site. You can probably use any driver that doesn't require anything else. That is, make sure the driver requirements only say something like, "Windows XP and SB Audigy 2 ZS card" in the details section.
4. The driver is packaged as a self extracting executable, however after unpacking the actual driver it checks to see if the sound card is physically installed, if this check fails the driver will be deleted from its temporary location. This, obviously, sucks if the check is failing. So, when you double click the EXE file let it unpack everything and do its little check. BUT DO NOT CLICK ON THE "OK" BUTTON WHEN IT SHOWS THE ERROR MESSAGE. Just let it sit there.
5. Open the device manager and you should see the "Multimedia Audio Device" listing with a yellow exclamation point next to it. Right click it and then select "Update Driver".
6. You should now be in the hardware installation wizard. Select the "No, I'll install from a specific location" choice.
7. When prompted for a search location, click the "Browse" button and try to find a directory that looks similar to "C:\WINDOWS\temp\0cxxxx\WDM" and left click it. If you have the right directory the "OK" button should become acti've. If so, click it. If you can't find the right directory, then try searching for "WDM" in the C:\WINDOWS\temp" folder.
8. The creative driver install should now proceed smoothly.
9. Repeat steps 5-8 for the "PCI Input Device" listing. Both drivers are in the same directory.
0. It may not prompt you to, but just for fun reboot your machine. You should have sound when you start back up.

I have a great idea. How about instead of all this rigamaroo to get the driver installer to work WHY DOESN'T CREATIVE MAKE A PROPER DRIVER INSTALLER! I mean HELLO! Where is the Creative techs on this issue?
I found the temp dir, I think it's CTF00 or somethin like that (it's the only file that pops up in the temp dir when I try the installer). Found the WDM file and hit OK. The updater tells me there was no updated file.
I am doing this from Device Manager->Sound, video and game controllers->Creative SB Audigy 2 Zs (WDM)
NADA, no luck. So I say WTF! Isn't this company big enough to have a team of techies to solve problems like this for their customers?
I need to update my drivers.

• Audigy 2 ZS driver probl

I've had a 2 ZS for a while now and?decided to reinstall?Windows XP after purchasing a much bigger hard dri've. After installing all system drivers (chipset, video, etc.)?for everything else on my system and running Windows update, I go to install the Audigy drivers and?it locks up my system /2?way though the install. The hard dri've light will stay light the whole time until it eventually reboots the computer and goes through the same process once Windows starts back up. It is basically a never ending loop. Now, I've had several Creative products over the years and have usually been able to deal with their buggy drivers, but this time I'm completely stumped on what to do. I'm on my 3rd Windows reinstall because of this problem and have tried just about everything I can think of short of?throwing?the card away and?heading over to Best Buy to purchase a Turtle Beach product.?Anyone ever run into this? Any suggestions?

BigBoss. From all the reading I did and the questions that I asked Creative, including using the X-Fi driver, the word from the top really is that it isn't recommended. It's just not a supported configuration. It may work, but I'm betting there may be some problems like your seeing now. I just downloaded and installed the latest drivers that do support the Audigy 2ZS card, and so far (knock on wood), everything seems to be working extremely well.
I decided to download the driver first and let the install do its thing. When it couldn't erase all the driver files, obviously because they were still acti've, I rebooted in safe mode and ran DriverCleaner Pro. It removed all the rest of the files. Rebooted normally and continued the installation. So far, as I've said, all is good! But I'll keep testing to see for sure. Good luck!
