It may be possible to help if you are clear in advising what the problem is and what you are trying to do. In relation to the power button, it, when depressed, surpringly allows you to turn media source on or off. Have you taken the plastic liner off the battery?

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS - Driver is

    Hello,
    Recently my creative speaker settings and all my THX controls stopped working. I removed all my drivers, then reinstalled the following from the creative website.
    . Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004
    This reinstalled the creative media center as well as the creative audio console, but it did not install the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS folder or application etc, which is what has all the Creative Speaker Settings and THX control and all the other creative options. I tried using the driver installation disc which came with the soundcard, but although it shows the creative settings/ THX control installed, whenever i try to open those applications, I get an error message saying that it cannot open that audio device, install audio drivers. I searched for the right drivers and even did the automatic updater, yet it did not work.
    So basically could anyone help me find the right driver to download so my creative speaker settings, THX console and all those other apllications will work?
    Thanks for your time.

    Even using just the CD drivers, shouldn't the applications still work?
    right now when I try to open creative speaker settings I get the error:
    The Audio device selected by this application is not detected. The application will exit.
    Does that mean anything?

  • Driver uninstall/install help nee

    hello, I need some help with the driver thing. just so you know, i have a audigy 2 ZS. I have a alienware computer and all the stuff in it came pre-installed. I have no disk for my creative card. it is NOT OEM. I have looked everywhere for this info, but havent found anything. I know i need to install the EAX 4 thing before the updated drivers. ialso know the safe mode driver cleaner routine to.
    when you select audigy 2 ZS in the add/remove programs thing, a menu comes up asking if you want to modify, remove, blah, blah. I know i chosse modify, but then a menu comes up with all the components of the software for the card. the only one I found that might be the one i need to remove is the "windows drivers". i assume that this is it, but i want to be sure.
    any help on this matter is appreciated. and any help on the installation would be helpful.
    EDIT: I intend this to be a routine update, as i'm a gamer. these two updates are all i need, right? I found a reference in a thread to open AL stuff, so what about that? I also have doubts that the EAX4.0 advanced HD and the .84.55 are the most up to date drivers. they are really pretty old...Message Edited by Hillbilly_37 on 09-05-2005 0:55 PM

    NForce4 is a chipset type used on your ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard. You can find information 'bout chipsets by googling.
    Athlon FX-55 64-bit CPU is a 64-bit processor. (!! one of the fastest ATM, BTW)

  • HELP PLEASE? Can I install SB Fatal1ty Pro software/ drivers over SB Audigy 2 software drive

    Hey guys! My name is Glenn and heres?my story! I have the SB Audigy 2 on my computer for the last 5 ?years +. I also had it connected to a 300 watt Panasonic surround sound reciever via the digital out to the recievers "coax in" for my DVD/ Gaming and it worked great. Then?my Panasonic finally took a dump!?So.....time to buy a upgraded surround system! Yeah! So I bought a 000 watt LG 5. system and it sounds GREAT, when played from the LG receiver! Unfortunatley the only digital in it has is a optical TosLINK. So I figure after looking at the Creative SB website it's tme to buy a Digital I/O module and I'll be good to go.......WRONG!?My I/O module gets here, I plug it into the digital out on my SB Audigy 2 card and a BIG NOTHING! So since I was using the Windows XP drivers with my SB sound card I figure if I intall the Audigy 2 software maybe the software will have a digital output fix, so I do a system restore point prior to installing the SB software (figuring just in case of emergency I can roll? my system back)and then I installed the SB Audigy 2 software. Again a big NOT! So after more research it looks like it is not compatable! ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!So time for a sound card upgrade with Digital I/O module compatability, hence I now?own the?SB Fatalty Professional card as of yesterday. So before I?install the new card I set about removing all the old SB software.So I'm cool TILL?I try to remove the SB Audigy 2 software! [color="#ff3300">BAM! I get that stupid "Unhandled Exception Error number 0x8004020"?screen at the 65% unistall mark!!!!!!!!! Well now I'm pissed! I read on the internet and IN THIS FORUM that the only way to get it off?is the "safeboot" mode" method?from the europe forum and guess what.......your right......it doesn't work!!!!!!! I tried every which way but NO GO! I also tried to do several system restores and now it will not even restore to any previous time !!!!!! [size="4" color="#ff0000">I'M GETTING MORE AND MORE PISSED! You would think after all this time since the first issue popped up regarding this uninstall? problem Creative would have FIXED THIS! It isn't a Windows issue! No other program I have EVER uninstalled has done this, they just uninstall, but ohhhhhhhhhh not?CREATIVES SOFTWARE!?So what can I do guys??? If I leave? the SB Audigy 2 program software on the computer in the add/remove window will the new ?SB Fatalty Professional automatically overwrite or remove?the Audigy 2 ?program software or will stay there and?cause a conflict!!!!!!!! Any help .....PLEASE! I'm at my wits end!!!!!!!!!Message Edited by Ztruth on 03-25-20070:07 PM

  • Audigy 2 Help nee

    Ok I have had my audigy 2 value for a while now and never had any problems but 2 days ago it stoped working,well for the most part anyway. When i try to play music off my pc i get an error message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." So?I went into control panel and sounds and devices and everything is ok but the?playback option is grayed out and i cant select a devicebut the sound rec and all that is working i even went to sound recorder and tested it and it worked. I then updated the drivers from this website to the newest ones and still didnt work then i moved the card to a differnt pci slot and still nothing. I just find it wierd that everything else works but the playback. I am on windows xp and have done nothing to the computer software wise or hardware wise from the time it was working till now. Any help would be apreciated.Message Edited by chuck987 on 03-7-200604:5 PM

    I had the same exact issue a few years ago, after loading an internet optimizer program?on my system. Did you load any software during the last week? Another cause may be your system is corrupted by malware, virus or worm. Try launching add/remove programs in Control Panel to remove all the Creative software. If you're running Windows XP, you may also need to run msconfig.exe from C:\windows\pchealth\binaries folder. Disable all audio startup items you find there and reboot. If you know you're system is clean of "critters", you can reload the original drivers for the Audigy device. If it doesn't work, then it could be the hal.dll has gotten corrupted. Look at both the System and Application logs in the Administrati've Tools section of Control Panel to see if any unspecified (or hardware-related)items are painted with red flags. If so, you'll need to "flat and reload" your PC.

  • Audigy 4 ASIO driver inquiry

    Hi,
    After reading thru several posts in different forums, I still have one question:
    What (the heck) is the purpose of the "SB Audigy 4 24/96" ASIO driver mode? I can't record anything when I select that, in Logic 5 for Windows. With the normal driver "SB Audigy 4 ASIO", it's fine. The card has a good sound, and nice software, but this doesn't work... I also find that more often than not, the reply to these types of messages is something like "get another soundcard". Well, no thanks! The non-pro Audigy 4 is actually the single most expensive piece of hardware inside my PC (except the processor maybe?).
    What's more, the on-line documentation states that the card has ASIO2 support for 24-bit/96kHz recording, the feature that I want to use, but how?

    I don't know about Logic,but i had that issue with cubase sx and my audigy 2zs (i guess they are similar cards). When i choose Asio 24/96 it mutes the Line-in in creative mixer, so there is no sound incoming to cubase.
    Solution for me:
    - open cubase and select asio 24/96;
    - with cubase still opened go to creative mixer and unmute Line-in (check also if you have Analog Mix as the recording source);
    - set the Line-in level in creative mixer to the amount i want (usually 0db);
    - then return to cubase and activate Analog Mix in the "Vst input" menu;
    - add an audio track, arm it to record, check the input source (it must be Analog Mix), activate monitoring and hit record.
    Now i'm recording with asio 24/96 and monitoring all the effects i want in that track.
    Note: When you choose asio 24/96 your card inputs will be reduced. With my audigy 2zs i'll have only 3 input sources and the only one that's used to record with asio 24/96 is Analog Mix (Line in).
    Hope this will help you.

  • What are the best audigy 2 zs drive

    ones that will wok best and sound best with everything, whether they're official or not
    I bought an audigy 2 zs but all i'm doing is having problems with it, probably all driver problems and i've tried different ones on different setups/computers/formats and continue having problems:
    -dvd audio like that on the demo cd that came with it does not play
    -hissing on certain speakers, and happens randomly on all speakers too
    -adobe premier not bootng. gives a 0xc0000005 error, i remember googling it and the first thing that came up was adobe telling me i had a vaio notebook and i needed to update something that has something to do with audio that i didn't have installed on my dell. I'm sure it was my audigy 2 drivers because it happened right after i updated them.
    -fable (pc game) not booting. it doesn't really give an error aside from windows urging me to send a report of this error to them
    -creative audio console always defaults to 2. setup from 4. setup for no reason, I have to switch it back all the time since i have a 4. setup. it happens randomly even if the computer was on the whole time.
    I'm sure I've been having other problems that i can't remember. thank you for all your help!

    I forgot to mention that the adobe premier problem only happened after me updating to beta drivers (off this website) so maybe that's my fault.
    the rest of the problems have happpened, and continue to happen with using all drivers I've tried. all of them were official, i've tried the ones right off the cd i got, and using autoupdate.
